Delthea, Free Spirit

"A naturally talented mage who hates training and hard work. Has a brother, Luthier."

Analysis:

Base Stats at 5 30px-Icon_Rarity_5.png?version=3c6c446a8d85bfc00753146af64fdb7a30px-Icon_Class_Blue_Tome.png?version=806b6a83e13aef45c0980d458409c495 24px-Icon_Move_Infantry.png?version=ff08

HP:	30/33/36
Atk:	33/36/39
Spd:	31/34/37
Def:	10/13/17
Res:	28/31/34

Delthea, Free Spirit first appeared on Alm's Army Banner.
Delthea boasts a high attack, Spd, and Res, but has the lowest base Def(tied with Lucius). With neutral speed there are only a few units that can double her(before skills).

Her tome Dark Aura grants +6 Atk to any adjacent allies that use swords, axes, lances, dragonstones, or beast damage at the beginning of the player's turn.

Delthea like a lot of other mages is a glass cannon. They are devastating attackers, but lack physical defense.

My Builds:

Buffer

Spoiler

This build takes advantage of Delthea's Dark Aura to give massive boosts to any physical unit.

Suggested IV's: (+Atk/+Spd, -HP/-Def)

Weapon:	Dark Aura
Assist:	Ardent Sacrifice
Special:Moonbow
A:	Death Blow 3/Swift Sparrow 2
B:	Desperation 3/Renewal 3
C:	Hone Spd 3/Fortify Def 3/Fortify Res 3/Def Tactic 3
SS:	Hone Spd 3/Fortify Def 3/Fortify Res 3

 - Dark Aura is the best weapon for this build because of the massive +6 Atk.
 - Ardent Sacrifice with a -HP boon lets Delthea get into Desperation range using it only once. And being a passive healer can help tanky units.
 - Moonbow has quick cooldown rate.
 - Death Blow or Swift Sparrow to maximize offensive output without sacrificing defenses.
 - Desperation if you want to attack and make use of her high speed to deal damage. Renewal for pure support builds.
 - The C skill varies depending on what you need. Hone Spd if buffing an attacker (Hana, Lucina). Fortify Def for Def Tanks, and Fortify Res for mage tanks. Def Tactic gives +6 Def, so with Dark Aura you can boost stats a lot, but only works on mixed movement teams. So, the fortify is more reliable.
 - SS is same as C skill for choices.

Pure Offense

Spoiler

With her high Spd and Atk, this build will make her a powerful Nuke.

Suggested IV's: (+Atk/+Spd, -HP/-Def)

Weapon:	Blárblade+/Dark Aura
Assist:	Ardent Sacrifice
Special:Moonbow
A:	Life and Death 3/Death Blow 3/Swift Sparrow 2
B:	Desperation 3
C:	Varies
SS:	Quickened Pulse

 - Blárblade+ is one of the best tomes, pair Delthea with a buffer, and watch the damage.
 - Ardent Sacrifice with a -HP boon can get Delthea into Desperation range with one use.
 - Moonbow quick special that works well with Quickened Pulse
 - Life and Death to maximize speed and atk with no regard to Def and Res. Death Blow is attack only. Swift Sparrow gives attack and Speed. Depends on what you want/need.
 - Desperation is great on a fast and frail unit like Delthea. With all the weapons with counter attacks built, dealing two consecutive hits is helpful.
 - C skill can vary depending on what you need.
 - Quickened Pulse + moonbow + desperation = high damage.

Mage Tank

Spoiler

She has a really high Res, so she can tank a lot of mages and staff users.

Suggested IV's: (+Atk/+Spd/+Res, -Def)

YggMXkl.png

Weapon:	Res+ Blárowl+/ Res+ Blárserpant
Assist:	Reposition/Swap
Special:Iceberg
A:	Warding Stance 3/Distant Def 3
B:	Quick Reposte 3/Vantage 3
C:	Varies
SS:	Distant Def 3

 - Blárowl+ gives a lot of stat boosts when adjacent to allies, and we want to boost her Res up. Pair with spur Res on the other units. Blárserpant gives a Distant Def 3 effect, which is very valuable to this build. Get the Res+ upgrade.
 - Reposition and Swap are the best assists for defensive units.
 - Iceberg is great because we are boosting her Res up really high.
 - Quick Reposte guarantees a second attack when attacked, because a lot of units have similar speeds to Delthea. Vantage to get the first hit if HP is low enough.
 - C skill varies depending on what your team is and what you need.
 - Distant Def 3 gives the most Res buffs when attacked at range.

With a +Res IV, Res+ Blárowl+, Warding Stance/Distant Def, and Distant Def 3 SS, Delthea has 49 Res in the enemy phase. Add 3 adjacent allies to boost Blárowl, and she has 55 Res.

dark aura has received an update, it now effects beasts, not very useful, but still a thing to mention.

Considering how beasts aren't supposed to stand beside her due to losing transformation, it's pretty ironic she buffs them.

I think it was done for the sake of consistency, dark aura is intended to buff all range 1 units, and that includes beasts regardless of tactical vaiability.

I saw that, I think  "thecrimsonflash" is probably right here. She just buffs all range 1 units..

I'm not sure that she would be paired with any "beasts" and it remains to be seen how many beasts are even released... if this is anything like dragons there will be a gravy train of them for the next year!

Interesting. As Icelerate said, it is kind of weird synergy.

So it depends if you want the +6 Atk (and other buffs from Delthea), or to transform gaining +1 Mov and +2 atk.

But Leanne gets Hone Beasts (+6 atk/spd), so if you want a buff bot for Beasts, Leanne is probably a better choice. You can still use Delthea if you only have one beast, but there are some drawbacks.
