Free-to-use mugs (but I need help to put them in GBA hackbox form)

Hello !

I made some mugs that I would like to make free-to-use for hackroms and such. But I can't make decent animations and chibi-mugs. Would anybody agree to take care of it and put them in GBA hackbox form? Or explain to me how to do it efficiently? I would be most grateful !

Some of these are pretty nice!

With making/getting frames, I've found it easiest just to splice in the base mouth/eyes from whatever your source mug was, or reference it strongly when you're drawing them in (sheet*: http://i.imgur.com/TwEvuNP.png, from Toa's tutorial: https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/comments/2jag7e/toaomrs_splicing_tutorial/). 

Chibis are the same, although plan B is to make them from scratch, so you'd select a 64x64 area of the original mug, reduce to 32x32, and smooth it out. (Reference sheet: http://i.imgur.com/IbGJl0Q.png.

I'd be glad to do a few as you're offering to free-to-use license them. Do you mind them being submitted to the mug blitz?

That's really helpful. I used Usenti to make sure the mugs don't have more than 16 colors and tried to do the last one.

Mugging blitz is an event where people submit completed portraits whichwill be released and free to use at the end. It's still going on. Post your mugs in that thread to submit (I've sent like 7)

I would like to do #9, #28, and Mr. Mustachio specifically, I've got other random preferences or you can just give me a row or about 7 more you aren't eager to bother with, and I'll knock 'em out on Saturday/Sunday when I've got time again. They all look pretty straightforward.

I was pretty eager to fiddle with #28 so I went ahead and did 'em earlier. Think this was before your color reductions and I did it my own way, let me know if you'd rather I preserve the shading and colors you already have instead of playing around with it.

Honestly, your shading looks way better than mine. Feel free to play around with it all you want. And I have no problem with you doing this ones! In the meantime, I'll try to do more on my own.

Just a tip, you are using a really dark outline color (even darker than fe8´s) that contrasts harshly with the fe6-7 colors you used. Use the fe6-7 outline or change the colours.

I took some liberties with one of your mugs ´cause it´s really cute and reminds me of Lakche.

I used fe8 colors and rearranged some so you could have different colors for the hair and armor. I took away the white from the eyes since when using pale skin you can get away with the same color and have more options for others (like the gold trim). I can´t help you with the frames at the moment, sorry, besides I didn´t find the eyes you used as base, could it be Cath´s?

Duly noted ! Thanks for the tips. I tried changing the colors a little for the ones I already did to have a better contrast. Is it what you had in mind? I'll probably use your color scheme for this character if you're okay with it. And yes, the eyes are in fact Cath's !

Of course, I did it to give you a hand.

In general fe6-7 and 8 colors don´t go well together. I prefer 8 myself but since you have a lot of mugs maybe just changing the outline color to fe6-7 will be much easier, your choice.

Mustachio I cheesed a bit and gave him a two-frame talk only. What all's left? I can work another bundle in another five days.

Thanks ! You did a really good job. I especially like what you did with the first one and Mustachio. Still, can I slightly change the colors of some of them ? They're good but I'm not a fan of FE8's brown (and lightning) for the skin in general.

For fun! I don't have the time to work on a hack myself. Maybe in the future? I would certainly like to.
