So it would come to this, would it? Alain had demonstrated his... peculiarities, but the rest of them need back up their claims of strength in order to be taken seriously. Lobos, the Chieftain, had even set terms for the test that Cassandra had offered them up to take part in, a five-on-five engagement, though the terms themselves were rather vague. Perhaps best to have them clarified, then.

"Iffin' I might ask, Chief Lobos, how did y'all intend to set this here test up? One big ten-man tussle, 'er somethin' more t'the line a' five duels? Important distinction, that. At least, so I'd reckon."

Astaroth stood to answer Lobos' question. "They are loyal to me alone. My will is their will. And as such, they are available for Princess Cassandra because I am." He hoped his answer was sufficient, for that was all he had to say on the matter for now.

So he was going to agree to it... "If power is not in the strength of individuals, I do not think he is going to pit us to foolish one on ones... It will be a group of ours versus a group of his, else his point has no hold. So be it. I will fight along my men..." And if Astaroth was going to be singing of how loyal he was... "Then I will take Astaroth as my first choice. Whoever else feels they are up to the task, step forward... I trust all of you to fight as well here, as you have been on the plains."

Astaroth brought his arm across his chest and bowed slightly. " A pleasure, Princess. I am most glad you are confident in me." He knew the real reason was more malicious and sinister than how she said it, but this wasn't the time or place to be petty on his end. He had already had his time.

Proof of Might

Lobos grinned, pleased with how Cass' group were engaging with his plans. "It will be a series of one on one fights. One of your own will face a member of my clan, the winner will go on to face the next foe. Then we shall continue until only one side remains." Lobos replied, casting his gaze upon Astaroth. "A bold claim, I'll be certain to make my first pick one suitable for the son of Abeloth. It shall both be a test of might and endurance, both will be required to gain the trust of the Medeina."

Lobos laughed, Ulfure was not visibly troubled by his father's savage schemes. "I intend to select my finest, Ulfure... remember that, my son." he added, looking over at Ulfure. "But for now, you shall be our guests. You have a great trial ahead of you tomorrow, I look forward to seeing your efforts. My men shall escort you to a tent for you to use, you are permitted to leave. Speak now if you must, there will be little time for questions tomorrow."

"I see no issue with your setup..." Though it does confuse me you would not test us as a group, rather as individuals. Perhaps I'm missing something, but still... Either way, I'll play this game. Nothing has stopped me and this will not be the first.

"Then, if we are to be guests, please show us to our quarters, so that we may rest. I good night's sleep shall ensure that we are all more than ready for tomorrow's challenge." Cass turned, half facing Lobos, and throwing a quick glance over to Naiman. They had to talk, then. It wasn't like this was suddenly life or death, everything previously had been... But this was their first major stepping stone, she didn't want to have regrets were it to fail on them. Cass needed to set groundwork, and truly speak to people of her plans. Naiman would be first. Alain second. She expected the most resistance from him, but she would have to try either way.

"Power is not just the strength of individuals, it is about the collection of might... that is what you said earlier, no? I would question the sudden shift in philosophy, but we will oblige with the terms of your challenge nonetheless," Alain replied. It wasn't as though they were in any position to decline of course. But if Lobos was trying to cheat out a win through sheer endurance, he was going to be sorely disappointed come the morrow.
