Oh, Seth, what has IS done to you? You were the most broken unit in Sacred Stones but now you're average as one can get as a Cavalier unit.

If you're reading this, know that there is little incentive to use Seth as your Sword cavalier.
His other game-breaking counterpart in Sigurd has not only higher stats where it truly matters but can also tank mages thanks to his Divine Tyrfing and exclusive passives. Siegbert surpasses him every way as well and blows him out of the water with his exclusive weapon. Disgusting.
Comparing to the other Cavaliers (without exclusive weapons) both Cain and Luke have higher stats in Str and Spd by about 1-2 points which gives them the ever so slight edge for offensive builds like Brave Sword+ or Wo Dao+. Only his Def stands out but thanks to his low Hp his durability is comparable to the other ones.
Seth can be seen as a better Stahl with salvageable Spd, featuring a frighteningly similar loadout at default.

So overall the only real reason to use Seth is blatant favoritism. Rest in peace, Silver Knight.

Builds:

The True Silver Knight

Spoiler

Boon/Bane: +Spd/-Res

Silver Sword+/Slaying Edge+ [Spd Refinement]
Reposition
Bonfire

Fury 3
Desperation 3
Hone Cavalry

Speed+3

This is probably the only build which he can shine with ... probably.
Fury + Desperation is preferred over more specialized combos like Life and Death because his niche lies in being an offensive Cavalier with physical bulk. Other combinations are going to leave him a bit desired, be it either having mediocre offense or defense. As I said in the introducton he will be outclassed in either of them and focusing more on his balanced line-up with Fury is pretty much the best approach with him.

Seth is pretty fast, reaching 43 Spd before buffs which is pretty high, all things considered. Rounding it off are 49 Atk and 35 Def, allowing him to deal decent damage and he can tank some physical hits. Obviously with Cavalry buffs Seth can reach some ridicilous heights, being able to sport 55 Atk and 49 Spd.

Bonfire is his preferred Special thanks to his excellent Def stat, adding 17 damage when it procs. Since Seth should double it will proc within a single instance of combat. If he gets attacked by a Brave weapon he will counter with it as well. Not really much else to say here.

While I recommend Slaying Edge+ for the faster cooldown, there are other options. Thanks to the refinement system he has some choices.
Wo Dao+ adds more burst damage at the cost of consistency, since Seth lacks any convenient way to lower his cooldown.
Zanbato+ is the ultimately expression of vengeance, allowing him to kill the likes of Sigurd or Siegbert with ease. Pretty good for Arena Assault since you will probably encounter Cavalier teams along the way and this makes him an excellent counter against them.

Btw. Silver Sword+ isn't actually bad for memes but for a more serious approach trading the potential effect of a weapon for +2 Atk is not really wise.
