Voting Gauntlet: Shadow in the Mirror!

Certain heroes will be pitted against shadows of themselves in Voting Gauntlet: Shadow in the Mirror, lasting from Mar 2nd to Mar 8th!

Will they be able to conquer their own dark forms? Or will the shadows prevail and take over? Get ready for battle!

This gauntlet is over, and our winner is Robin, Fell Reincarnation!

Non-evil versions of Celica, Takumi, Robin, and Zelgius also appear on the accompanying summoning focus banner!

As usual, there is a score tracker for the gauntlet on the Heroes official website.

Do they normally put VG banners on the calendars? Because if so they didn't put a VG banner on this one, which makes me think that this VG will involve the Valentine's units and idk who else. Maybe not though.

Wouldn't we need a Gen 2 Genealogy Banner first? We have only Julia and Seliph for that side, right? We have 5 pullable Gen 1 units: Eldigan, Lachesis, Sigurd, Deidre, and Tailtiu, just enough.

Exactly, it'd have to come with a new banner which would be great. Hopefully if it ends up being the case we'll get Sety, Lene and Altenna. Or if they wanna be complete mad men, they could give us replacement characters, like Radney, Asello and Sharlow.

It probably won't be the case though.

I haven't played FE4 yet (I'd DL an emulator and the rest, and while I know it's safe, I always have the fear it'd junk my computer, and so I'm waiting for a oldie I can tamper with). But if I had to pick 4 characters, 3 pulls and 1 TT for Gen 2 Genealogy, out of pure personal preferences, I'd select Patty, Caipre, Arthur or Ced and..... gosh I can't decide the fourth. I guess I'll pity Tine, she needs it after I've imagined a day in her life with Hilda:

Tailtiu: "I am my Lord Brother! I will work thrice as hard as usual in serving Their Majesties. I will serve them as I serve you, whom I thank once more for sparing me after my divergent error."

Hilda: "You truly are my finest handmaiden my fair sister-in-law. Now now my husband, we mustn't tarry any longer. Now now Ishtore, go with your father and prepare our escort to guide the Imperial family through these barren Thracian boondocks. Ishtar my daughter, go to your room and take out all your dresses for me. I need your help deciding which Prince Julius will like the most."

Ishtore and Ishtar: "Yes Mother."

*Blume, Ishtore, and Ishtar depart*

Hilda: "Fetch the water girl!"

*Tine dashes off to get a bucket of water and a scrub brush, leaving Tailtiu alone with Hilda*

Hilda: "Arvis. *Spits on the floor and clinches fist* Well Prince Julius is coming, and that is all that matters. Arvis won't be Emperor forever, soon he'll have to hand power over to the Prince when he comes of age at last. He will be Emperor, my daughter will be Empress, and I will be an Emperor's mother-in-law. If he doesn't complain of how filthy these floors are." *Turns face towards Tailtiu, with a menacing stare*

Tailtiu: *Gulps*

Hilda: "Why isn't your daughter back yet? Haven't you taught her to hurry? Haven't I taught you to hurry? What useless servants you are. I don't see why my husband insisted that you be spared. You left House Freege to side with a rebel, and for what? Justice? How brainless you are, what is right in this world is Grannvale decides, and in your world, what I decide. No, now I remember correctly, you chased after a man. You found your soulmate amongst the riffraff and just couldn't leave him. Ha. Haha. Hahahaha!

*Tine returns*

Hilda: "On you knees now the both of you!" *Turns face away from them*

*Tailtiu and Tine begin scrubbing the floors clean*

Hilda: "I would have been fine with you in my life had you not done such a foolish thing and you'd known your place. If you had died, I would be even happier. But you didn't, and that infuriates me. Worst of all, you uppity wench brought baggage with you. I won't have stains on my floor, nor on my person. I will live a life of luxury after so long without it. I bear with your brother, I bore him children. Ugggh. How disgusting that was to put up with it all. And anything that gets in my way of it. Doesn't. Belong. At. All."

*Looks at Tine's scrubbing with severe disapproval of how the job is coming along. Storms over to Tine who looks up at her, but Tailtiu stands between her daughter and Hilda.*

Hilda: "You can't protect her forever."

*Slaps Tailtiu with the back of her hand and its long nails, drawing blood from her face.*

Tailtiu: *Cries*

Hilda: "Work harder!"

*Stomps on Tailtiu's hand with her stiletto heel.*

Hilda: "Hmph" *Storms out of the room, regaining her "kind" facade as she leaves to see Ishtar.*

*With tears streaming down her eyes and her body shaking Tailtiu collapses on the floor. Tine hurries over to her mother to console her.*

I will not tell you if Tailtiu lived through this day. I honestly hope she didn't.

Oh, another VG? Wonder if they'll implement any changes for this one. I don't mind, it's been awhile since we've had one, and feathers/coins/rocks/etc. are all nice rewards.

I had in my mind for months now. I felt it was finally time to put it down in actual words.

I admit I wanted to cry as I wrote the end. It's a little too saddening. But Tailtiu died of a broken heart, I was trying to imagine how that would happen, and that is the kind of terrible existence that came to mind. I feel bad for putting a fictional character through such abuse, but I guess it's a sign I can sympathize with the plight of fellow humans, which is good.

That's kinda how I feel, too. I actually find myself disliking her a lot, and then feeling guilty because I know what happens to her >.<

That being said, I really hope Camilla and Tharja are nowhere to be seen. Especially the latter...

Yeah, that's true and if we ever get an echoes fe4 I wouldn't want them to shy away from scenarios like that.

Eh, I'd say that makes it more effective. She was one of the last gen 1 characters I would have expected to end up the way she did.
