27th May 2010

- Nintendo DS

- 6090yen

- Not done in SD, real robot sprites like the original

- Brand new high quality attack animations

- Arrangement of gameplay systems based on the original game with refinements of more recent SRW games

- Retains all the feel of the original title

All I can say is it's about time.

:wtf: So it was true!

Time for the original originals to shine again! XD

Although, I suppose this will be the OGverse's version of the events. Still, looking forward to it. :D

I've been playing OG Saga, as it's the only SRW DS game in english. The combat system is excellent, although I think they should have paced the skill learning a little better, or added a few more skills, because roughly 1/2 way through the game you've already learned all the combat skills (after that, each battle seems like the same thing over and over, with you slowly perfecting your characters' timing). Still, because the game requires a fair amount of timing, it stays fun.

That being said, do the other SRW games have more in the way of good/interesting story, mechs, and difficulty? I'm thinking about giving the GBA english one a try, and then playing any older games I can find that have been patched into english.

The story's not bad for the most part. Some of them are actually really well written, like W and MX. The numbers of mech in the series are very diverse. YOu're bound to see at least one mech series you've seen in your lifetime shine in the game. Not to mention the animation that's really well done. The difficulty's not bad either, especially when you're trying to complete a special mission that they usually have. There are only few games in the series that are much easier compared to the others like W.

The gba one is actually a good choice to start with. That's how I got into the series. Its sequel, which is also for the gba, is not only much better, but also much harder compared to the first one.

The best one overall is SRW3, for the SNES. It's only weakpoint is that there were no animations whatsoever. Still the finest one, though.

I agree about 3 being great (though in my opinion not the best, that would be perhaps @3).

I played the PSX version though (although it is better, so why not?), and my only complain is the sudden increase in the difficulty towards the end. Maybe it was just me, but it got harder as I played the last missions (To the point it took me a long time to beat Wendolo (days) and Shu (weeks!)). <_<

Wait, if Part 2 is going to be in, aren't they skipping a lot? The OGverse version of the EX and F events has yet to happen.

If this does makes it out of Japan, it would bring quite the gap.

PV 2 next week

Are there any solid proof to confirm that Setsuko has been raped by Akasim?

It actually hints that he beat her rather then raping her.
