Aye--that's a good one.

...I wouldn't call Heineken a "cheap beer."

Its not high-end by any stretch of the imagination, but its not Bud Light. Coors. Miller. Keystone. Rolling Rock (i.e. the watery, college keg-filler, cheap shit)

Heineken is one of those midrange commercial beers for regular drinkers who appreciate good beer enough that they don't want to drink piss cheap bottom-of-the-line brews. But who still want to be economical about their purchases and buy bulk at a reasonable price. (I'd put Stella in that same category)

How do you feel about Blue Moon?

Heineken is a cheap beer in the Netherlands, its pretty much the college kid keg filler here. haven't had Stella Artois in years, and all those other American sounding beers I've never even heard of. I don't think I could buy any of them over here without seriously going out of my way.

whether or not you people want to play with your newly female bodies

For the record, my first reaction would be to question what happened to my beard and/or how I'm supposed to go to the bathroom now.

I also posted a comic that featured Panne and Yarne, which lead to a discussion about how they're not wearing pants, which lead to a discussion about another fictional character that is for some reason not wearing pants but you only realize it later, to a discussion about why I ironically and unironically like the Taguel, to how Nowi has actually good growths, to how a Taguel warren would make for an awesome level, to how Taguel zombies need to be a thing, and how I apparently liked the idea because I had a dream about it. All with one other person.

I love it when conversations like these occur in the strangest of places.

but yeah I don't care to be called "sir". My students usually do it because the school disciplines them to address anyone above them as sir or ma'am, but I tell them on day 1 that I don't give a shit about any of that. I think, in part, it's because I'm used to seeing people say "sir" or "ma'am" as a way of being polite, yet at the same time showing zero kindness for that person (particularly from politicians or police officers). In other words, it's not uncommonly a weak attempt for civility and faked respect.

It seems to be the general consensus (at least here) that most guys don't mind being called sir. And yeah, I've seen people use "sir" or "ma'am"  with genuine politeness or, as you said, faked respect.

On the other side of the question, do you guys mind being referred to as a "gentleman" or as "gentlemen"?

how many lockers were you shoved in as a kid

None actually. I tended more to entertain with my mannerisms then I attracted taunts, though I can't tell whether it was laughing with or at, not that I really cared at all. And there are other reasons too, which I won't get into detail with.

As for the beer discussion, I've made clear before I don't drink, but I would be willing to try a dip in one of those warm beer hot tubs once. Sure they sound like a tourist trap, and I sincerely doubt they do anything for one's physical wellbeing, but why not? I'd just hope nobody would try to dunk me under or splash me to try to get me to drink.

Also, an inquiry of mine own, who here likes the beach?

I would say I do.

Except for the blazing sun, that I don't like. And I don't like getting sand over my feet either. Nor being encrusted in wet and salty seawater, or encased in sunscreen. And I happen to get a strong whiff of that saline air, my sinuses become a salt lick. It can also be a bit bothersome if the wind is too strong. It isn't great if it is too crowded or noisy. Jellyfish can be another, minor problem that impacts the experience from time to time. I'm not one of those people who can sit and read or use an electronic at the beach either, there are too many little distractions and impediments.

So then, what do I like about the beach? Maybe an offseason walk in shoes. Or maybe a visit to see the sunrise when it is cool and empty. I think I actually like the idea of the beach more then I do the reality of it.

An opposite weather situation, snow, is the same way with me. I love the falling and the sparkling pure white blanket that endures for the first two days, but the shoveling, cold, cabin fever, ice, and wetness of walking through it are all disagreeable.

I do not care what people call me. I do not think I met any dudes in real life who care how they are addressed.

I think there was an article recently about Macron preferring to be addressed a certain way and he lectured a kid who addressed him as something else. I think he is the only dude so far that I think has a preference.

I am an enthusiast. And I do not look down on what people drink.

Speaking of alcohol what other types do you guys enjoy?

Whiskey is probably my favorite alcohol. My favorite is Yellow Spot followed by Green Spot. Both are really smooth, but Yellow Spot is aged more and has more... depth? Flavor? Not sure how to describe it.

For wine, I mostly go for desert wines that are very fruity and fizzy (basically soda). My mother has a bunch that she does not drink anymore, since she now prefers the more robust and "normal" wines. I will drink red and white wine when paired with food, but I do not usually drink those wine by itself like I do with desert wine.

I also tried mead once and tastes really good too, but they remind me of dessert wine, so I cannot really tell the difference from taste alone.

I also like Fireball and Rumchata too, but I usually drink those with friends.

I think maybe you want a vacation home on the beach so you can enjoy the view.

I love the snow too! Except the magic never goes away since I have not really experienced the bad side effects. I never needed to shovel snow (my landlord did all of it when I was in New York), so I think that is the biggest reason why I still like the snow. I actually love the cold since the air feels cleaner, lighter, and easier to breathe. I do not think I can experience cabin fever since I do not mind staying home all day. I did not drive in New York, so I did not have a problem with ice either. I do not like hunidity and wetness too, but as long as I wear boots when I go outside, it is pretty easy to stay dry.

I like the snow when it's freshly fallen and it's like 5-6 am, before anyone else has walked or driven it to blubber. Back in my college days I frequently had to be on my way at like 5.30 am and the fresh snow was always a beautiful sight to me.

Not that I drink alcohol much, but I do enjoy the occasional glass of brandy.

Growing up in New Jersey, summers at the beach were just a part of life.  My hometown was driving distance from the shore (as every town in Jersey is), and my parents had a summer home out in the Margate/Ventnor area (i.e. right in between the casinos up in Atlantic City, and the Boardwalks down in Wildwood and Ocean City).

I personally prefer camping, and would rather get lost in the Pine Barrens or on the Delaware Watergap. The shore town beaches around here are too crowded and commercialized for my taste.

There's something about loading a weekend's worth of of supplies onto a kayak, paddling off into the wilderness, and getting away from everyone and everything--back to nature--that I've always found incredibly relaxing.

Fine with Rum too.

Like the sweet wines (i.e. a Moscato, or a good Reisling). Not too crazy about the dries.

i appreciate you

scotch is my favorite, followed closely by bourbon. scotches are better but a good scotch is more expensive while a good bourbon is relatively cheap

When someone says "you're such a gentleman", it's cool cuz it's straight-up praise. Addressing me as "gentleman", I don't care, it's fine, it's usually like two people working at a hardware store being like "can you show this gentlemen to where we keep the electrical parts?"

I fucking love the beach. Here are my two favorites where I live:

4236a6d258dcb8f2826944b003cd9185.jpg

This one's extraordinarily flat, so as the tide goes out, it goes out for almost a mile, and you have all sorts of little tidal pools and rivulets, which make it great for playing around in and exploring. The water is also very clear, and depending on when you go, you can sometimes find colonies of sand dollars. Great food and stuff nearby too, so it's definitely my top choice for spending an entire day at.

This one's a little further out of my way usually, but it has by far the craziest waves (to the point where the dunes and houses built here are regularly eroding and collapsing). It's also one of the better beaches to spot some seals or maybe even a whale or shark here and there (though there's a much better beach if you wanna see seals, it's kinda dangerous since they're not friendly and wherever they go, the great whites follow). This one is near a lot of historical landmarks, nature trails, and other cool places that make it worth spending a day or more just around here.

That is crazy. I do not think I can enjoy the beach if it is that crowded. Thankfully, when I went to the Boardwalk, it was not that packed.

Nice. Seems like a nice place to surf if the seals and sharks are not there.

Yeah, it's extremely popular for surfing. I think the seals and sharks just kinda pass through it on occasion, as opposed to making it their territory

I don't mind the beach when it's busy, but I prefer it when it's quiet. I'm not much of a huge swimmer though, I like to look at the geology while I'm there. It's a nice way to kill a day.

.....though some of the best summer days involve going to a beach and getting liquored with some friends so hey. im a multifaceted person.

No, the beach is bad, it's full of sand, I hate sand, it's rough, coarse and it gets everywhere.

I mean it's fine sometimes, but I being Irish and particularly indoorsy burn very badly, the sand gets in my toes and takes FOREVER to get out and the wind blows sand all over my food. Though it is nice to feel the ocean wit my feet.

We're technically experiencing a drought and this is how pale I am.

That is the first time I heard of that happening. With winds that strong, it sounds like a hurricane is on the way.

Favorite beers

  • San Miguel Pale Pilsen
  • San Miguel Cerveza Negra
  • Red Horse Extra Strong
  • Tiger
  • Hoegaarden

Whenever the situation comes up, Guinness Stouts and Draughts are definitely on my list. But I fall on the top five above.

Not into hard liquor much, but a good rum cola every now and then will tide me over.

I know there's people out there who legitimately don't like ANY kind of beer. But whenever I hear someone say I don't like beer, I always have to first wonder if that really means I've only ever had shit beer.

Hard Liquor is all in the mixology. There's a few classic combinations you can never go wrong with

Rum + Coconut Water
Rum + Pineapple Juice
Rum + Watermelon Juice

Whiskey + Lemonade
Whiskey + Apple Cider

Vodka + Cranberry Juice
Vodka + Orange Juice
Vodka + Grape Juice

Gin + Olive Juice

Tequila + Agave Nectar

Grain Alcohol + Kool-Aid / Hawaiian Punch

Or you could just drink it straight
