Confess something really embarassing

Saw a topic like this on another forum and thought "why not I make one here as well?". And I did.

Basically, you don't have to confess anything really personal, it can be simply like a video game crush or something you did as a kid. I'll start us off:

I joined Serenes Forest Nah just kidding.

I wet the bed often until fourth grade. I dunno why it happened so often. Maybe because I didn't eat enough nuts.

I used to think of the "dead or alive" text of WANTED Posters as strange, as I assumed the "dead" part meant the Wanted person being a zombie.

I don't really like many English songs, but I absolutely love J-Pop songs. I find this to be embarrassing because it kinds makes me the "odd one out" among the people I know. My sister in particular makes fun of me for it, lol.

And finally, I actually like looking at anthromorphic animal drawings (that are, of course, not lewd in any way). I guess that makes me a furry? Probably.

So, any confessions any of you want to share?

I was born

Back in Middle School, I used to unironically like SAO and every time i look back to those days, i just cringe. Nowadays, i just treat SAO like Michael Bay Transformers movies. It's shit but you gotta watch it anyway. This also has the side effect of me now looking up bad Isekai anime to watch because ripping them apart is hilarious.

  • I actually remember writing an SAO fanfic for a school project in 8th Grade and looking back on it and i really want to erase that from history.

Up until 3rd Grade, i thought that the world was flat and that the only places that existed were Venezuela, Connecticut, and Florida, because those were the only places i've ever been to. I also thought that the sun and the moon were one and the same.

Before playing it, i thought Xenoblade Chronicles was worse than Fire Emblem. BOI, LOOK HOW FAR I'VE COME!

  • I also used to think that there were no such thing as bad Fire Emblem games.

When i first heard about Super Smash Bros, i saw the boxart for Brawl and was like "what are all these PlayStation characters being in the same game as Mario?" Yes, 10 year old me thought that Mario was the only Nintendo character and that Link, Samus, Pikachu, etc were PlayStation characters.

My early YouTube videos are super embarrassing, and no, you can't watch them.

You know when a little kid asks their parents where babies come from and the parent tells them some bizarre story because the kid is too young to know the truth? Yeah, i actually believed those stories until 7th Grade.

I thought the beach was just one really big pool.

My username is the name of a fake Pokemon i drew a long time ago but i actually have fond memories of that.

Edit: But this topic seems like it should be in Far from the Forest, right?

I'm still a kid sadly.

I'm alergic to nuts but I still don't wet the bed...

The fun(actually not funny but scary) thing about me is that I used to play sonic games... And watch sonic fanfiction

Luckily , about 7 years ago I was aware of the shit I was into... and stopped. (By the way if you were wondering in what age I was while doing this look at my profile's description)(I'm too lazy to tell you)

wow you are young.

Err, I guess you could tell about your stories of when you were 4 or 5, or something.

Also, sorry to hear your allergic to nuts. Then again its not the most delicious thing ever.

I'm not actually embarrassed about most, if not all, of this stuff. It's just things I either have a good laugh about now, or things that I never found embarrassing, but others might find funny.

Back in grade school, I loved reading Calvin & Hobbes, and I still do. In the third grade, I actually attempted the above strip in real life. The kicker is that I asked my mom what would happen if I tried this, and she said "you would get your feet wet." After trying this in real life, I told her "My feet got wet."

The only anime I've ever watched was Sonic X. To be fair, my age was in the single digits, and I dropped it as soon as I turned ten. I still think that the third season, which was pretty much a space adventure, has great potential for a larger, diverse, and more story focused Sonic game.

I thought that the Legend of Zelda was a series of hack-and-slash games, and that Link was an elf. To be fair, the very first Zelda game I've ever seen was Twilight Princess, which was the first T-rated game in the series.

I though that Metroid and Halo were the same franchise. I also thought that both of the main characters were robots.

I somehow managed to play Awakeining without knowing about the existence of the marriage mechanic. Don't ask me how I did that, I'm still questioning how.

I still don't know what flirting is. My guess is that I interpret it as a normal compliment, and treat it as such. Considering I'm the "hold the door for someone else" kind of guy, I'm used to being thanked for something.

I never really understood the whole "furry" thing, honestly. I'm indifferent to the art style as a whole, but unless it's about something sexual (which is not limited to furries, mind you), I never saw the harm in enjoying it. Especially since there can be other reasons for using the art style (it's easier to draw, for one, and in the game Lugaru, for example, the characters are animals so the more realistic and complex (though still Teen rated, interestingly enough) blood effects don't come off quite as disturbing as they could be (and so wolf enemies can be even more infuriatingly difficult)).

Agreed. You'll get more answers that way anyhow.

Same.  Though I don't really get made fun of for this.  I just have to have a separate turn to have my ipod be the thing playing.

I actually thought of doing so right after making the topic but it was too late. I guess I could have a mod move this to FftF?

Not exactly clear on the whole situation, but as far as I am aware the problem seems to be that people generalize furries as people who are into anthropomorphic animal porn, hence why some people tend to despise anything anthropomorphic related. Must be because of the rather large amount of um...furry porn. Of course, a lot of people just have their own opinions on whether they like seeing animals with human features or not.

@Glaceon Mage Well, your lucky I guess. Not many people exactly know that I'm into J-Pop, but those who do, they either assume I'm into K-Pop or just think of me as having weird interests, lol.

@Hawkwing OMG Calvin and Hobbes is the best thing ever.

I went through a stage in middle school where I always had gas and would fart all the time and not care, so I became known as the girl with famous flatulence. CRINGE.

I stuttered so bad as a kid that I could never say certain words, such as "trick or treat" at Halloween, without doing so. Glad it faded away since then. I still stutter occasionally, but not nearly as much. As a kid, I was constantly mocked and picked on for it.

The question should be "why", not "why not".  Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Err, okay?

I thought it could be an interesting topic, similar to other topics like the "Small things that get on your nerves" one.

I was really into Hetalia when I was younger. Got into a ton of ship wars, associated everything historic with Hetalia...then I left the fandom in 2013. It just got too much, I supported a particular ship, got a ton of hate for it. Most people in the fandom at the time were awful. I still love Hetalia as a series, I have many fond memories of it, but the fandom? No way, my time as an obsessive fangirl is over. USUK vs FrUK? Why not both? Ship wars are disgusting, and I'll forever curse my younger self for getting involved.

I used to hate Marvel despite never watching the films. One day my Dad tells me to sit down and watch Avengers Assemble, and now? April 27th can't come sooner~ As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover!

I thought that "The Fresh Prince of Bellair" was actually "The Fresh Prince of Bellend"...

Unfortunately, this topic's taking a nose dive into mockery territory.

Hence why making topics like these are generally not a good idea.

That's definitely not my intention, and I don't really expect anyone here to mock someone else.

If need be I can put up a warning in the first post?

Yeah.  It's one thing to be embarrassed, but it's quite another to dip that low (especially if it's a reflection of your past self).

This is why I really don't like topics like this - it tends to lead to this kind of nonsense, even if it's not what you had in mind.

I cried while watching Sachi's death in SAO.

This was only like 3 and a half years ago.

my excuse is that i was new to anything super feely like that when i watched it. feels are still feels no matter the quality so long as its a cute girl and you're a teenage boy with little emotional control, i guess

I mean, there's a reason why I said that people shouldn't confess anything really personal.

But I understand what you are saying: if it seems necessary to you, then you can lock this thread.
