My first thought was: "Three Houses? Oh no. Is there going to be three versions again?" But thankfully, judging by the japanese title, that won't be the case. But another thing I'm a bit worried about is the greenish haired main character that seems to be the main character. Since it's clearly not him talking, I'm worried that he'll be an avatar or a silent protagonist. I wouldn't mind if it's going to be avatar and a silent protag but if it's either or… no thank you.

Other than that, the gameplay changes certainly seem worth a try. I'm still optimistic about that aspect.

I'm 99% sure dude is an avatar, since blonde girl asks him what she should focus on, and the player is presented a choice. I hope I'm wrong, though.

I'm massively, MASSIVELY disappointed in what was shown in the trailer. It started off alright, but quickly devolved into things I don't recognize as Fire Emblem at all. The character designs are immediately offputting, they look like Persona games now? I don't like that very much at all. I also don't like the squads of generics following a lead character gimmick at all. I don't know what to say; this isn't even vaguely exciting to me. Why did this happen? What is this game? It doesn't look like FE. I guess I'll need to see more footage before I can properly judge it but for now I really dislike what I've seen and I'm actually forecasting the end of my own enjoyment of my favorite franchise. :(

Art evolves and changes, I can understand being offput because it is somewhat different, but we haven't had a Fire Emblem on a console in YEARS. So it's only expected that they try a couple things to try and make things, more realistic I suppose. Though I don't know how it's not something recognizable as Fire Emblem, the Grid-style gameplay was there, the Different Weapon Types, Magic, I think I see durability in there but I'd have to watch again to make sure I saw it right. The only thing differences I can see is a different art-style, and that there are generics following a lead character (Which is more realistic because wars would never be won by a gang of 20-40 people, considering often times there are only 4-5 impressive people and everyone else is a loyal soldier to our lord character.)

Other than the small issue of the title making me just think of Game of Thrones, I'm reasonably excited, but it's also too early for me to know how I'll feel. Having a date is good, and hopefully we'll see more before release that will really help cement how I feel about the game.

I'd be amazed if they did that. The only reason they did 3 versions for If was because they has already fully built the engine and most of the graphics for Awakening, so they didn't have a ton of work to do. This is very obviously a different engine and graphics style, so doing multiple games would be a lot of extra work.

I hope they don't but it is one of my fears is that Nintendo will get greedy and try it again.  Though from what I heard the Japanese hints at it being one game only, though someone who reads Japanese should confirm that.

Wait a minute... a greater amount of (seemingly) insignificant units on the field, more anime like graphics (though nowhere near as stylish)! Guys, I've got news for you, this is just a Langrissser game.

I legitimately have no idea what you're talking about. The graphics look exactly the same as the cgi that's been used in the custscenes for last five games they've done.

It's got a very heavy feel of Kozaki.

I mean, if you dislike that it's fine, I'm not super sold on it either, but it's not a different direction. Seriously, I thought from the thumbnail that it was just older Nowi.

Overall, mixed.

The music is quite nice as well as the voice acting (so far). While the CGI animations aren’t the best, they’re nice. The premise seems interesting. The map of the continent is also nice.

The character designs and portraits seem more appropriate for a Persona game rather than a Fire Emblem game. I don’t like the female lead’s outfit design or her name.  Not fond of the battle animations.

Tentatively excited. I've been replaying other TRPGs like Tactics Ogre and Tactics Advance, and they've been making FE feel a bit bland and simplistic (the latter is also a positive in a way). It's awesome to see possible mixups in the game mechanics. I'll be playing a bit of The Last Remnant to broaden my understanding of TRPG mechanics and see how I feel then.

I'm also happy Fire Emblem is moving more in the direction of a grand-scale, spectacle-based RPG. I just don't think the gameplay is their best product, especially now that my degree is going deeper into AI and planning.
