Classes You Know About, Expect to See, or Want to See

I mean, Brigand and Mercenary don't appear to have any skills either. Maybe Armour knights will just have 5 movement in this game which would make them roughly equal to regular infantry classes, just with more defensive capabilities without any of the low movement.

I'm talking about halving damage from bows in particular, rather then gauntlets. I don't see player Knights ever being targeted by bows in any scenario.

Really they should get something like Guardian from Vestaria saga.

You know that there's magical weapons, right?

Going to the original question, I would like to see a ranger type class that you see in those medieval fantasy movies. i.e. Legolas from The Lord of the Rings. They would be an infantry unit that could use swords and bows (Which is a thing now 😞) and could have skills that improved stats in forests and other terrains.

Ranger(Advanced Class(Professor Level: C in Swords; B in Bows)

Class Skills:

Range +1(Classic Sniper has Range +2)

Stealth(10% of maximum HP is restored at the end of the enemy phase if no enemies attacked unit)

Sneak Strike(If unit is standing on a tile that boosts evasion; or unit is attacking an enemy that cannot counterattack, damage dealt +3 when user initiates combat.)

Class Skills

{White Magic Recovery +10

Slow Swing - Selecting "Slow Swing", Attack Speed is halved but weapon might is doubled.

Rune Blade - Physical weapon types target lower of Foe's Defence or Resistance if unit initiates combat.}

Enemies almost never use magic weapons, so I highly doubt halving damage from magic bows will ever come in handy for the player.

Ranger was a infantry knife/bow/sword class in Berwick Saga that promoted from Hunter(a class in older FE games).

With it's popularity in FE2/15 and Fateswakening I could totally see Dread Fighter making it back in. Whether it's a 4th tier class that isn't really linked to a class tree; or the effective promotion of Swordmaster, as it sorta was in Echoes(as a promotion of Myrmidon).

As long as it's not too overdesigned like it was in Echoes, I'd be down for that.

I can imagine Dread Fighter being a master class with proficiency in swords, axes and fighting, as a crossover between the the Mercenary (and presumably Hero as its advanced class) and Brigand and Brawler (with possibly Warrior and Berserker/Gladiator being their advanced classes) since traditionally, those classes nearly always share promotions in class trees

Classes won't have specific promotions; classic FE trees will return but the line from say Myrmidon to Mercenary to Hero won't be treated as a line, you can switch between classes as much as you want but still jump up to whatever you want regardless if your previous class in the previous tier.

I know, but I feel like certain classes will be better promotion options for others if you get what I mean. That's what I was referring to.

Most mono-weapon classes get a secondary weapon in this game. The possibility of Sniper getting swords and Berserkers getting fighting is highly likely.

What would be the proficiencies of a Master Knight?

I think the specialised classes might just get their specialty weapon + Authority.

Master Knight would probably be Sword; Lance; Axe; Bow; Reason; Faith, Riding, but being a bit more grounded most likely Sword; Lance; Axe; Reason; Riding.

Swords, Lances and Axes I'd think

I wonder if they'd go with Marshall or Baron for a fourth tier Armor class.

If the traditional specialty classes do get secondary weapons, I think Swordmaster might get Fighting. Both Felix and Catherine seem to specialize in Swords and Fighting (as well as Bows for Felix), and Felix in particular definitely feels like he'd be one.

Let's hope Swordmasters are back in the first place, I have the feel, that they go the Gaiden Echoes route with myrm promotions.

I wonder what class Hannemann will be, in trailer 1 he appears to be an infantry magic user; but the teaching implies he focuses on Reason; Bows and Riding, so some sort of long range riding mage archer I guess? That would be odd but cool.

We know at least early on Manuela is a Priest; but maybe she'll end up as a singing Faith user? Maybe Faith and Reason since she casted a fire spell in trailer 1.

Catherine will definitely be a Swordmaster.

Alois will be an Axe General/Baron/Marshall.

Ceteth is a lot harder to place; unless you know what you know about his class from Thani.
