Base Stats

HP: 32 / 35 / 39
Atk: 30 / 33 / 36
Spd: 33 / 36 / 39
Def: 17 / 20 / 23
Res: 22 / 25 / 29

Tana sports a powerful offensive stat line, with good Atk and Spd. As a flying unit, she is uninhibited by most terrain and has access to powerful flier field and combat buffs. Her personal weapon, Fruit of Iðunn, further amplifies her Spd and allows allies to warp to her when she is at or above 50% HP, providing valuable warp utility.

Unfortunately, all the points that went into her Atk and Spd had to come from somewhere, and as a result her defensive stat line is poor. She will be hard-pressed to survive a counterattack in a neutral matchup. She is also weak to flier-effective weaponry.

Suggested Skill Sets

  • When multiple options are available, my personal recommendations (if any) will be in bold.
  • Budget options will be colored red.

Fruit of Iðunn

Spoiler

Usage Intention: General use.

Nature: Any, +Atk or +Spd preferred
Weapon: Fruit of Iðunn
    Weapon Refinement: N/A
Assist: Reposition or Flexible
Special: Glimmer or Flexible
A Passive: Atk/Spd Solo 3, Swift Sparrow 2, Triangle Adept 3, or Atk/Spd Push 3
B Passive: Desperation 3, Aerobatics 3, Renewal 3, or Flexible
C Passive: Flier field/combat buff, Spur of choice, or Flexible
Sacred Seal: Attack +, Speed +, Spur of choice, or Flier Formation

Overview

Fruit of Iðunn allows allies to warp adjacent to her when she has at least 50% HP, and gives her a Spd bump to boot. It's a handy utility mechanic, with practical applications that include, but are not limited to:

  • Baiting an enemy to a particular part of the map, then simply having the bait warp out (particularly useful on maps with restrictive path options, such as the Arena two-bridge map).
  • Allow an ally to warp over inhibiting terrain, or into forests (unless the ally is Cavalry) from 2-3 spaces away.
  • Assist a retreating/weakened ally without actually needing to use a positioning assist, saving Tana's action to do something else (including using a positioning assist afterward to get the ally further out of harm's way, if necessary).
  • Get an ally into the fight (usually one with a 2-range weapon) without using a positioning assist. Tana is then free to use a positioning assist to get them to safety after combat.

It's not without its drawbacks, however. For starters, there's the HP requirement; Tana's defenses are not well-suited to holding that threshold (defensive buffs and sticking to triangle advantage help). Additionally, it lacks the punch of a full-on Rauðrblade+ set, and teams fielding her may need to use a second red, or a green that can handle neutral matchups well, to deal with threats such as Myrrh.

Nature/Skill Choices

Tana can take either +Atk or +Spd natures with approximately equal effectiveness, and can bane any of the defensive stats without much consequence.

Reposition is the standard positioning assist, though she can also use another positioning assist (such as Draw Back), or Ardent Sacrifice (to easily enter Desperation range) if the user so desires.

Glimmer is a solid special option, with a low charge count and good damage output against and foes that do not have a lot of Res (it will put in good work against greens in general). It's worth noting that Luna is better on Red foes, although it's not by much, and does take longer to charge up. If a fast-charging damage option is not required, users can opt for an AoE or Aether for point-scoring purposes.

Swift Sparrow provides a strong, consistent, general-purpose offense boost without compromising her defenses. Atk/Spd Solo provides more offensive punch, but has a positioning requirement that may be difficult to satisfy. Triangle Adept allows her to specialize against green foes, allowing her to OHKO many prominent green threats when her Atk is buffed (including some Myrrh variants, depending on Myrrh's buffs & positioning), and preserve her HP to keep Fruit of Iðunn's passive up. Her natural Atk/Spd Push+Renewal combo works well enough if the other two options are not available, but she will have trouble keeping it active in an Arena setting.

For combat performance purposes, Desperation is the standard B Passive choice, granting her combat sustainability and allowing her to keep her Fruit of Iðunn passive up if she hits the sweet spot between 50% and 75% HP. Triangle Adept sets may also consider using skills like Aerobatics on mixed teams for maximum warp utility.

On a flier team, she should use a flier field/combat buff to support her allies. On a mixed team, she may wish to use a Spur of some flavor to support allies who warp to her. Tactic buffs are also on the table for mixed teams.

Her Seal slot is ideally dedicated to stacking her offenses. If she is +Atk or +Spd, she benefits a lot from using the seal that her nature did not boost (though +Atk TA sets can take Attack + for better OHKO capability). On a flier team, she can use the Flier Formation seal for maximum warp utility. She can also make use of a Spur, to support allies who warp to her.

Standard Rauðrblade

Spoiler

Usage Intention: Red Tome nuke for a flier or Tactics team.

Nature: +Atk or +Spd/-HP, -Def, or -Res
Weapon: Rauðrblade+
    Weapon Refinement: N/A
Assist: Reposition or Flexible
Special: Glimmer
A Passive: Swift Sparrow 2, Life and Death 3, Atk/Spd Solo 3, Fury 3, or Atk/Spd Push 3
B Passive: Desperation 3 or Renewal 3
C Passive: Flier field/combat buff or [Stat] Tactic 3
Sacred Seal: Attack +, Speed +, Flier Formation, or Flexible

Overview

The Rauðrblade+ set forgoes the warp utility of Fruit of Iðunn, instead opting for raw power on a flier or Tactics team.

Nature/Skill Choices

Tana can use +Atk or +Spd natures with approximately equal effectiveness, and can bane any of the defensive stats without much consequence, especially if Fortify Fliers or defensive Tactics buffs are involved.

Reposition is the standard positioning assist, though she can also use another positioning assist (such as Draw Back), or Ardent Sacrifice (to easily enter Desperation range) if the user so desires.

Glimmer is the -blade tome special of choice, but users looking for arena points will not see much difference if they opt for an AoE or Aether instead, as -blade tomes revolve around stacking damage through buffs.

For Tana's A Passive, Swift Sparrow and Life and Death provide an offensive stat boost that is consistently active. Life and Death cuts her defenses to dangerously low levels, but she can get away with it if Fortify Fliers is active, and she sticks to color advantage. Alternatively, users who are confident that they can satisfy the Atk/Spd Solo positioning requirement can use that for a consistent, potent offense boost. Fury can be used to increase her 1-hit bulk and make it easier to get into Desperation range by taking a counterattack, but is otherwise inferior to options that provide more offensive punch. Her default Atk/Spd Push and Renewal combo is serviceable if she can consistently OHKO her foes. It suffers a little from not being active every turn, but flier kiting capabilities can help mitigate this.

If Atk/Spd Push and Renewal are not used, she should use Desperation in her B Passive slot.

On a flier team, she should use a flier field or combat buff of the user's choice in her C slot. On a Tactics team, she ideally carries a Tactic skill. She can also use a Guidance skill, if desired.

For Tana's seal slot, she can't go wrong with offensive stat stacking (Attack + or Speed +; Attack/Def +2 could even work if the user is worried about her ability to take a hit to get into Desperation range). Flier Formation grants her some extra mobility on a flier team, which can be nice in some situations. If she does not need any of these options, she can opt for another utility seal such as Guidance, a Spur, or a Drive.

Would Aerobatics have synergy with the Fruit of Iðunn?

I mean sure she wants more practical B skills like Desperation (she is really frail so she really wants this), but I was just wondering if it would work well with her prf in terms of super mobility for her and her team. Just wondering in terms of fun theorycrafting

I went ahead and threw it in there, though I'm not entirely sure any team actually needs that much warp power (outside of maybe Rival Domains/Grand Conquests), and it would definitely be better if it were available as a seal. It would likely be workable on a TA set, where she doesn't require Desperation as much, so I went ahead and highlighted that in the write-up.

Thanks for the feedback!
