I need help with research

Recommended Posts

I’m writing a novel and I need more info on Catholicism. In particular, how a person can go from being an Altar Boy as a child and from there rise up in the ranks to Bishop or Cardinal (or even the Pope himself).

If anyone can recommend me any books at my library or useful articles online, I would really appreciate it :)

You can also try looking up a French Jew who (after moving up the ranks, of course, became the Archbishop of Paris) almost was considered a successor to John Paul II (Jean-Marie Lustiger).

Does that work? Have you googled? I found that by googling "rising in ranks in the catholic church"

If you want something with a bit more flavour like Alpha Brain so you can really get a feel for how things work behind closed doors in the Vatican, the Robert Harris novel Conclave is really good. Robert Harris really gives you a unique glimpse into how these decisions really get made and it's super readable. Hope that helps!
