The Roger The Paladin
Eh. Seeing as I didn't have much to say, and it's been an idea bouncing around in my head since the first notion of a certain NPC as a super-hero came in... Gentlemen, BEHOLD! Bagman, sets out in a costume sewn together from his vast collection of burlap sacks to literally beat crooks into submission while wearing a suit of money, knowing their greed will force them to attempt to take him down without damage to his outfit so they can profit from the very bags it is composed of, giving him an advantage here-to-fore unseen. How do you stop a foe without risking damage to their clothing? Even in hand to hand combat, it may tear. Their very greed becomes his armor. Saint Rubenio
Part 36 - Death queens. And now I take four days to upload the good update. I officially don't understand myself. Replies: Spoiler On 28/2/2019 at 7:37 PM, BrightBow said: You work really slow considering all the money we don't pay you. Ah, don't worry. This update only has over 400 screenshots, as opposed to the last one which had 67. I still took nearly as long, but... yeah...? On 28/2/2019 at 8:50 PM, Dayni said: Considering what they did with Nuibaba, I can absolutely get over her having fan service. Hey, I didn't say that meant it's bad, per se... Hell, it's confirmed she's not even a Duma worshipper (Medusa is her goddess), the execution of her intimidating presence is pretty dang good in SoV and she has some backstory, which is a lot better than a lot of 1-off villains in the series. I would recommend SoV honestly because of the presentation and how well it handles a story that's older than I am (Also Awakening if you can stand a lot of what doesn't work with it and Conquest if you focus on the gameplay and use the story as joke material after chapter 13 (Okay, barring that stretch from Chapter 22-25. That's also actually pretty good.) I see. Well, that all sounds pretty good! Sennet's on the Senate though. Of course he is. He is the Senate! How is it nice, this thing that could have been useful to expand on a character who actually needed such gets relegated to the side and is also not as detailed as I think it needed to be. Now, anyone who wishes to point out how wrong I am on that? Do so, I don't pretend to know all of Fates's supports inside and out. Ah, I'm afraid I won't be the one. I wonder what he was actually going to say. Also, considering I still associate Lena with killing Gharnef in SD, I could see her stepping in if need be. She did kill Gharnef in my last run, but Gharnef's a pushover. Matthis is the greatest Archanean warrior alive in the LP canon timeline. I was joking about pronunciation, it's still spelt Camus. I know, but it doesn't change the fact that apparently I'm supposed to turn into a cow whenever I say his name. A shame, I still find Camussss to be much better. I mean, it's not terrible though. Who even said it was? I didn't say it was absolutely blind (which is part of the reason to argue ) Of course you didn't. Bottom-line, Barbarossa was a badass. She's in shock? In the sense that she's trying to avoid noticing the castle blow up? Might be, but still... Lydia's ex, thought he and Not-Martel were working together based on how the screenshots were structured. Heheh, yeah, that was exactly the effect I intended to achieve. I think I'm desecrating more than Arran in that situation. You're desecrating my patience. In other words, drop it or I'll drop you. Yeah, half your sentence. You didn't finish it. Either that or you put a comma when you meant to put a period. Either way, you dun' goofed. Jeez Eugen, do you want people to finish TearRing or not? Clearly not so. Honestly, considering Gramud died in a blaze of glory of his own I'll ultimately side with Runan. It took me a little while to get this one. Man... Course I'm probably not the most impartial as well as my favourite is Canas, who got killed by Storm Continuity Error. Ah, yes, he fell prey of the single time FE7 even tried to be consistent with FE6's lore. Wait, really? I mean, I'd complain it's Aethin's fault if I thought that was a translation error. As is, dammit Kaga. Whoever the culprit is, it's clearly a plothole. Ah, what a shame... but I suppose we can't let Holmes hog all the crap of the game. Gotta let Runan get some too, so the blonde dumbass doesn't feel too bad about himself. Isn't it six? I didn't mean the Six Sages, I meant the four disciples of Sage Morse. Eisenbach mentioned he, Octavus, Maios and Guenchaos himself were his students back in the day before he died, remember? You really get angry about the Archaneans. Are we sure the racist Judgralians aren't the ancestors of this lot? I mean, considering how similar their names are... Like ten would stagger a manakete. We know he could just transform and deal with it better there. And in today's episode of "Dayni is Albertus's Hypeman"... I'm sorry, but apparently this dialogue was missing. Eeeeeeeeeeyup. Man, either Ares or Arvis were enough of an inspiration for this character's name if I'm right on the Jugudis (which is a bit of a shame as neither of them are considered racists). Somehow. Why is it "a bit of a shame" that neither of them are racists? From what we know of Arless, I wouldn't say he can be confirmed as a racist douchebag. Quite the opposite, in fact, considering he was willing to sign a treaty of peace with Gramud before they were both Sigurd'd. Narcian isn't all that lategame though. Nergal would be more suitable. Ah, yes, it all goes back to FE7 being bad at things, does it not? I'm fine with that. I love me a good rant. But none of them were Maerchen. Which is... a good thing! I see Lawrence, Hannibal and Douglas were too slowed down to get there. Now I don't know if you're refering to Lorenz being obscure because he's FE11 General Boss That Is Old #35895382 in the same map as Obviously Recruitable Camus, or Lawrence, the General of Legend (because we've only heard of him). Can't say I mind that, honestly. I mean, really? You'd kill off Matthis? Maybe. Be patient... Depends. Is he unpromoted? Hahahah... you'll see. On 1/3/2019 at 6:11 AM, Hawkwing said: Have you tried playing the game on the hard difficulty? I recall doing that once, but it has been so long since I last played the game that I don't remember what that was like, aside from the action command icons for pulling leavers and such being removed. Man, I really need to replay that game again. It's been too long. I played through it on hard, actually. It wasn't too difficult. I only really had one level I got kinda stuck on for a little while, and that's because I kept failing at platforming. Except forced asexuality is one of the most notable things that occurs with having those removed. I mean, unless he only lost one, then the remaining one would produce the same amount of chemicals as if he still had both. He's Maerchen. He'd break the laws of biology just so he could still get hard-ons on whatever pieces of meat he still has left. And be hateable. I was simply looking for information to make more authentic "groin attack" jokes. I ended up scarred for life. Man, that throwaway joke about Kreiss stabbing Maerchen in the dick has really come a long way, huh? By the end of this, it'll be serious LP canon somehow. You're welcome. Don't know if I'll write that every time, so I suppose lets just assume that that sentence will be present in every reply from now on Okily dokily. I was originally going to mentioned Sub Zeroes Ice Klone attack for its simplicity and practicality for an ice attack, but as it turns out, no one had made a gif of it yet , and I wasn't in the mood to make one then. Since I am now... Besides, it was another opportunity to talk about Blustone, which I couldn't pass up. As well as to make a pun. Did he just make an ice clone of himself and just bashed Scorpion over the head with it? That's so... hilarious! I see. I suppose that explains why it took a while to notice. Probably so. Mustafa is a boss in Awakening. The level he's in is considered one of the best (some would say thee best) "War is Hell" scenes in the entire franchise. I mean, yeah, I've heard of this much, I just aren't privy to the details. Nah, they're still tied. Good. Eh, I'll be learning about a game I've never played regardless, so I'll (probably) still to enjoy it. That, and seeing how you've grown as a writer and lets player should be interesting to see. That much is true. I don't like singing my own praises, but... damn, I've come a loooong way from that cumbersome trainwreck that was the FE12 LP. Try reading that sentence while watching the fight. ... And again, you're welcome to the several hearty thank yous I saw. Have another one. That fight's so bad... wow. Just, wow. Mostly because there is a high chance that your corpse will decay and be devoured by some scavenging animal before you get a proper grave. If you're even blessed to receive one in the first place, that is. You could also argue that youths are generally less unwilling to die than the middle-aged and older because prosperity and worldly accomplishments haven't knit them to the world yet. Yet is a life of fame and glory truly worth it? It is the small things that topple the great, that pave the path of ones life, that create the things worth fighting for. Not everyone is going to be remembered by history, but would that make a so-called "life of mediocrity" a terrible thing if a person dies content with their lot in life? All good points. For some reason, I feel like sharing this song. And I really need to watch this movie again. Cute little song. Agreed that they both make good points. In war, no one can believe that they'll live forever, and to many, it is best to die giving it their all, testing their strength, and knowing their limits before their inevitable end. Simultaneously, life is a beautiful thing, even with all of the ugliness of the world (and indeed, perhaps this ugliness is necessary to realize what true beauty is), and it should never be thrown away. Indeed, to both statements. Is this the games very first plothole? And right after that great scene, this happens. Interestingly, this line is said slightly different every time it appears. Hwahahahah, yeah. Perhaps it's like Gaidens hidden village where it's only called so because the "dungeon" before it is like a pseudo-mazewhere turning at the wrong moment puts you right back to the starting point? Yeah, except there's literally nothing in the way here. Just a bunch of trees. Is this a reference to Return of the Jedi? Pretty sure it isn't. Could be, though. Return of the Jedi is probably the Star Wars movie I've the fuzziest memories and knowledge about. All I know is that there are shit-colored pandas, Boba Fett dies a death about as anticlimatic as his daddy's, and then the Emperor is uncharacteristically dumb. Zooming in, I think it's his hair. Eh, guess we could leave it at that. Being fair, Holmes hasn't had any bosses yet. And he did fight a giant floating hairy eyeball tribble that shoots laser beams, came back from the dead, and is apparently a lord. Not that that means much when compared to Runan's route but it's... something... Yeah, it's not even close. I'm reminded how Fire Emblem, or heck videogames in general, tend to gloss over how ugly magic would be in real life. A simple fireball spell would cause serious or fatal burns, thunder magic gives the ugly death of electricity, and even wind magic can snap bones. And this isn't even getting to dark magic or the more powerful spells games have... Yeah... The plot grows heavier, and we'll have to wait and see if anything has happened to our named heroes... Wait and see... I've already spotted a pattern that constantly fluctuates. Still, it's nice to know that copying text is the reason they take a while, and that action updates can sometimes update faster because they're more interesting to go through. It's also nice to have a shorter update today, as I've had a busy week with college lately. We understand that live comes first, so don't worry too much about it. Thanks for the kind words, but this was still an all-time low. Probably should try not to get carried away so much next time. On 1/3/2019 at 6:43 AM, Mad-manakete said: Well, I did a brief comparison of the default Cavalier growths in Shadow Dragon. I couldn't help but notice Matthis with 90% HP, 40% strength and 30% defence matched Abel in strength growth and decisively took the best HP and Def growths for the class (without reclassing). Really his speed and bases is what lets him down. So your cannon of him becoming a General seems kind of fitting in retrospect. Alas, Shadow Dragon is a little more restrictive on reclassing than New Mystery... so I'm going to have to work something else out. Go Dracoknight. Give him the Iote shield. And all the kills. My two cents? According to Norse mythology dying in battle is awarded with a place in Valhalla, where you practice battle every day, heal from any injuries you take no matter how severe, and get to feast every night. Where dying in the comfort of one's own bed in Norse mythology led to nothing but a place in Niffleheim... the frozen land of the dead. Unless you drowned or were female, because women just automatically got their own hall and the drowned got something else entirely. Point is, Eugen's viewpoint seems a bit nordic. He does look like a nordic warlord, doesn't he? Though that's the kind of mindset I like to use for an Ironman just on the grounds it means the deceased get a reward for their agony. Tell me that! Footballman was quite the ladies man when he was young. Many number the illegitimate offspring he sired across the lands. But alas, the mother's genes always shine through and ruin the potential for another Footballman. For there can only be one Footballman born to the lands in one hundred years, and legend says he shall rule the clergy with kindness and wisdom prior unknown to man. I shit you not, that was the funniest thing I've read all month. I mean, all last month. Jesus friggin' Christ, that was good. Thank you, man. How do you stop a foe without risking damage to their clothing? Even in hand to hand combat, it may tear. Their very greed becomes his armor. ... ...here, have a slow clap. You deserve it. That lore is beautiful. Now someone needs to make a movie of this. Maybe Neil Breen? I'm sure he'd make a sick Bagman. Update: Spoiler Today's inventory management. Not sure if Meriel deserves to promote, but just like Maruj, her promo-bonuses are beastly, so she's gonna get it. Norton's now good against magic, Lee gets the good Paces a-Hundred Yet Still I Cure because I don't like Enteh as much, and Leonie's promoting today, no questions asked. The map. It's not quite as difficult or tightly designed as the last one. There are a bunch of Summoners that will doubtlessly piss me off, a bunch of weak troops, dark mages (which are by far the most dangerous enemies to be found here) and experience bags. That's it. If you've come expecting dick moves today, well, you'll be sorely disappointed. Yeah, look at that! 1-3 range magic! That can be nasty if you don't manage things properly. Cunedd is crap. Cunned's weapon is an AoE spell that does middling damage to people. Don't let your units stand inside the village every second turn, and you'll be fine. Up north, we can find Raphael, and I mean, do I need to say anything? Look at those stats. They speak for themselves, I think. Oh, yes, that's not a graphical glitch. He can use every single weapon type. His situation is a bit like Pent's in FE7's desert chapter. You need to protect the enemy from him. Unlike Pent, tho, he stays put, so that's easy. Don't think the weak weapon will make a difference, though, he still kills everything with it just fine. Go time. First off, Leonie has movement and I wanted to show it off. That's it. Next turn, more. Raphael.png Sigh... summoners.png Yeah, like that was ever going to work. Ah, it's time for a new spell! Brace yourselves. I love how every dark spell in this game transports the victim to some sort of hellish dimension. Jesus! G'damn! Well, it's not quite as impressive as Nosferatu, but that'd be pretty difficult to pull off. Some more enemies suicide on Raphael, and the experience bags move forward to be slight inconveniences. That's fine by me, it just means I can feed them to Meriel more easily. Raphael took, like, 5 points of damage that turn. And then he healed up because he's standing on a house. Poor monsters, their efforts rendered fruitless. Like I said, Meriel takes an experience bag. Leonie, meanwhile, keeps pushing forward. She and Mintz will be Runan's escorts as he goes up to meet King Raphael. D'aw, no move. Might as well give Norton experience too. He's a good man. And now he's gooder! Man, I cannot believe how strong this guy is! Sure, 8 speed (and only because I gave him that potion), but swords are light enough, and his might is through the roof! I'm fairly certain this is the best Norton I've had. Sasha is 10 points of experience away from getting to level 20. I'm still pondering on whether I should promote her or not. If I don't, I'll have to dump Occult Books on her, but if I do, she'll lose a ton of magic. ...on the other hand, with these defensive stats, she's going to rival Mintz if I do promote her. Turn over. Sigh... we're already neck-deep in scrubby monsters. Leonie's such a great dodgetank. I stand corrected. Of course, the RNGoddess would never let me have that, would she? Oh, please, seriously? This thing just went and kamikaze'd Lee! Well, that's one less use of the shield, but we're past Fort Balt, so I'm not that worried. Meh... this is par for the course when it comes to Lee, but after last LP's Marcus, it's kinda disappointing. More experience for Meriel. She needs to get to level 15 before promoting to get Wrath. If I promote her earlier, she gets a worse skill, I think Luna? 90% crit magic sounds amazing, so let's aim for that. I like how she conveniently sidestepped magic just so it stays at 9 to spite me. Pretty sure he dodged that, but, well, does it matter? Nothing can harm him either way. Man, Shirou. He's just... so bad. He's not even Sophia terrible or anything like that, he's simply painfully forgettable. He's got nothing going for him, ironically or unironically. Mintz got hit while killing off a swarm man, but that's cool, I like the extra critical. And now he's down. Leonie, though, doesn't have Wrath (she's overwhelming enough as is), so she has no need for the wounds. That's it for the turn. Only one thing left to do... The pros would tell you Pegasus Knights should never promote, but I threw 10k at some guy for this, so you can be damn well sure I'm gonna put it to good use. I'm already glad I did it. Look at that, it's hilarious! She's just a tiny pink speck on top of the huge, fearsome wyvern! Yeah, I don't think I regret doing this. She lost 6 points of magic, but she's still got a decent amount, and a point of speed which is nothing at all, in exchange for Mintz-tier defenses and 15 strength. That's two points short of Norton's strength. Norton's! The sad thing is that that's another unit that kinda sorta outclasses Kate, but who cares. Kate's an awesome character, and I will use her, metas be damned! I mean, I'm currently using Matthis in FE12 Maniac. I think if I succeed at that, I can do just about anything. Everyone wants a piece of the Bow Leon, but they ain't getting none. Or anyone else, for that matter. These guys are way out of their league. Swat 'em down, Meriel! I believe in you, second-worst Mage in the game! Here we go! She may promote now. Magic? Perfect. She's ready. Hm... I'll miss the levin murderprincess, but... ...yeah, not too much. I just can't get over that. The other Pegasus Knights don dark uniforms to go with their wyverns. Sasha? She still looks adorable while massacring armies on top of that hideous thing. Startin' to get some serious Yuno Gasai vibes here, if you catch my meaning. Now she just needs to start going "RUNY~" every time she kills someone. Except, instead of looking all distressed, Runan will just smile. Smile, as he tears into his enemies, throws his sword aside, and pulls their hearts out. I really should lay off the poor guy, he's the only reasonable main character in the game thus far, and I keep making him out to be a serial killer. ...maybe I'm right about that, though. Did he just impale that Ogre in the crotch? Man, that's savage! He's worse than the monsters he's fighting! Maybe he's just accumulated a ton of repressed fury in his heart throughout the years, and can only vent it in the battlefield. After all, his childhood friend is Holmes. This team's not doing so well. Kate, Sasha and Norton are invincible, but Meriel's going to need some meatshields if she's going to make it through the turn. Shirou, Sharon, you're volunteers. Protect the Mage with your lives! Fuck that guy, he's a monster, a sub-human. Raquel has no problem piercing it through with a 73-damage arrow. I don't think Tellius fellows would like her. I know I do, though. Leonie, don't let her leave you behind! Goodness gracious. Yeah, I've said it before and I'll say it again, if any of you is a fan of bow users, try out this game, you'll love it. Ergh, except for Luca. Luca's just terrible. These crits are so satisfying, I swear. I like how Norton's team is getting swarmed, while Mintz and the Archers are wiping the floor with everything. Sharon's in a bit of a bad place. AAAGHH! Blistering barnacles, that was amazing. I managed to catch the worst possible frame for the Gargoyle, but still, take my word for it, it was cool. Still, doesn't change the fact that Sharon's royally fucked. Gah! Maybe not yet...! Hey, that's not such a bad level. C'mon, you just have to dodge this! Do it! I... I'm not sure if I believe you, we barely knew you, but... Come on, you can do it! If you dodge this, you'll win Raffin's heart back! I'm sure! Dodge! Ouch! My beautiful death count! I'm sorry... Typical me. I get through one of the hardest chapters in the game without breaking a sweat, and then someone dies in the easy "calm after the storm" chapter. I know they say not to speak ill of the dead, but she has no chance of getting brought back, I'm sorry. I'll have to kill off Letena temporarily to avoid her ditching us, and even if I wasn't going to get her, Juliattisnacordst would definitely be a better investment, since he was already somewhat trained and had solid stats when he died. We'll avenge her later. Right now, it's time to press on. No critical hit, really? I like luck for units who have low luck. This is fine by me. Sharon's sacrifice will have been in vain if we don't get rid of all this heat! Time to bring out the big guns! She's barely even gripping that thing! She's 15 years old! She's tiny! She's on top of a wyvern! How in the world is she doing that?! I can sort of believe it when Mintz or The Roger do it, but Sasha?! She doesn't flip it around, at least, but she still goes stabby stab with it for no good reason! I'd love to give you some dramatic words to set up your promotion, but the situation's a little precarious. You need this in order to survive! Upon promoting, Meriel has gained a longer cape, sleeves, and enough sense to cover up her hips. Not bad, not bad at all! She's a little speedier, but a little less powerful and defensive than Maruj. This is also going to make life easier for me in a future chapter, which is always a nice thing to keep in mind. Oh, please... what is that hitrate, Shirou? Are you sure you're Lionheart's second-in-command? How much did you pay him to be called that? The level isn't even that good. Strength's fine, but where's the mastery? OH Norton one-shots skeletons. Not sure if anyone other than me has ever used Norton, but I can safely say, they're missing out. Ohohohohohohohohohohohohohoh... remember when I said Tom was impressive because he got higher or equal defense than everyone else at base? And then there were two. Bwahah! Sadly, the last level Runan got was good, so you know the drill. Yep. As expected. It'd be a good idea to send that last Dark Mage with his friends before advancing any further. Let's lure him closer. Bah... can't reach. Last time she got hit. No such luck this time. At least he doesn't get destroyed by Gargoyles. That's something, I guess. Kate's under heavy fire, but her defenses allow her to just brush it all off. She's still got a duty to fulfill, and now that the King's about to return, it's all the more imperative that she remains alive to do it! Female Sage animations aren't quite as slick as male Sage's, but they're still pretty damn slick. She kinda flips enemies off when shooting. The gall of that woman! Also, I'm pretty sure she has pants now. Good call. This is starting to look too ridiculous for my liking. Raphael, no! That one's promoted! It belongs to Leonie! A shame, but it's fine. With Paragon, she can make do with the weaker monsters. Talking time. I'm sure it'll be much more useful against those Gerxel folk than against trees. Garo'll love this. Why use bows when a random joe with a lance could do more damage to fliers? Case in point. Sort of. I need less Gargoyles now, so let's use the tiny stars to vaporize this one. ...oh! "You won't stand in our way! I will crush you with my magic, Kishar's Wrath! This is as far as you come, filthy rats! Hah hah hah!" The generic dies a generic death. "Pontiff Guenchaos... please forgive me..." He even gave Norton a generic level! I welcome it, but that's not special at all! Where's the speed? Your speed growth's as high as your defense growth! Sasha can't double these guys. A shame. I'll make a man outta you yet. Ahhhh... let this be a lesson, folks. Be careful what you wish for. Unnnhh... You do not deserve to be healed by a top tier unit like Lee. And that's another one down. While Lee's Peepz do theengs, Runan's team stands in a line-like formation to lure the last swarmer within reach of Leonie's arrows. Alas, what a waste. Guah! Goodness, Enteh! That couldn't have killed her, but still! You know, you have to at least hand it to him, he does not face the risk of getting one-rounded by these guys, even with crits. Yes, he's probably hitting the bench next chapter, and I'm only feeding him kills for the heck of it, but still! Good effort. Ohh... well, there goes Seamus's final gift. It served us well enough, all things considered. Don't worry, man, just because your parting present broke doesn't mean I will break our promise to you as well. We'll make a nice nation out of Canaan yet... Fool... that was the last mistake you will ever commit! ...uh, or not! Now that was just showing off. You didn't need that, Norton! Kate's in that weird spot where they can hurt her, but it's only paper cuts, so it barely matters, but it's annoying. Oh, this one's the most genial of them all yet! He attacks Norton because, despite not doing any damage to him, he has exactly a 1% chance of hitting him critically for minimal damage. Assuming he can get through the 40% missing chance to begin with. What an absolute mastermind. He even got killed in one shot, just about. Must've been the skeleton of a really stupid warrior. That's looking to be a level up. Move, move, move! Not move... This is the last Ogre we'll be seeing. Jeez, Raquel, don't do that, you're just wasting uses of that bow now! Why do I always seem to find a way to catch these damnable flashbangs? What even is that? The effect looks really cool when in motion, but then you take a screenshot and, well... Meriel Jeigans a Gargoyle for Shirou. Well, it was bound to happen, but that does not make it any less disappointing. As if you could afford to mess up like this, Shirou... Oohhhhhhhhhhh really? Still 6 Gargoyle charges remaining? Gaaah... That's just it - Sasha, go get him. The rest of you, remain behind and purge this place of these annoying pests! Norton one-shots these guys, too. What an absolute unit. Not the most optimal situation ever, but Shirou's safe. Those skeletons might go after him and his companions, though... Bad news, everyone. Zieg got a level. This displeases me. C'mon, how's that even fair? He's already got similar stats to Mintz, with a crapton more magic, and he's gotten a single level! Still not quite as amazing as Norton, though. And once I get him Frontiersman (about two Runan chapters from now), he won't even be slown down that much when indoors! Meriel casts PK Flash and utterly volatilizes the enemy! Ah, but don't worry. This one won't be getting experience, ever again. You're just taking the piss now, Your Highness. Sasha, no! Goddamnit! Now I'll have to endure another round of those things! Oi! Where do you think you're going? Come back to Norton! No need to be afraid, you fools! Leaving this world isn't as scary as it sounds. Especially when it's at Norton's hands. He'll make it quick and painless. Not his best level, but he's got such great stats, I think he might just be set for life, speed notwithstanding. Besides, his hitrate's a little shaky at times, so I think I'm okay with this. Kate, get good stats, please. Come on, Kate! Shirou just doesn't feel like killing anymore. He's probably exhausted after he did something worthwhile for a couple turns. Meriel's lightning broke a while ago, so she's taking Lee's for now. It's a good thing the route split is right around the corner. We need more weaponry, fast. Okay, I managed to catch the weirdest frames. What's she doing in that second shot? Baaaaahh... why are you so worthless, Enteh, pray tell? Runan moves up to chat with Raphael. He heals up so he may withstand a critical hit from the Gargoyle. Leonie and Mintz are going back so Leonie can get some training. I'd like to get her to level 20 today. Doggone it, Sasha... I don't care as much about this one. In fact, I'd rather he stayed alive. He'll be our drill grounds for the day. The guys get attacked, to little consequence. The Gargoyles have decided they'd rather go after Runan. Might seem like a bad situation for him, but I've got a trick up my sleeve. But first, Leonie levels up again. No move, but I mean, does it matter? She's gonna have the same move as Raphael when she promotes. Shirou did something! His success is rewarded with a healing session from Lee. Raquel is still with Runan. She shoots down a Gargoyle. And now-- oh, no... don't give him your smile, Runan, he'll think you're an enemy and attack you! To think that my friend's scrawny little lad would grow up to be taller than me! Actually, Raphael, your sprite is a bit taller than his. Just saying. It's truly a blessing to see you again, Lord Runan. I feel the same. Seeing that Your Majesty is in good health... I couldn't be happier. Before I forget, Lord Runan, I want to give this to you. A sword? This is Sol, the royal sword of General Sutherland the Great, the founder of Wellt. It is imbued with magic that will heal your wounds as you fight. Ooohhhhhh! Gimme gimme gimme! I'm sure you'll be able to use it to its greatest potential, Lord Runan. The sword of General Sutherland?! I can't possibly accept such a precious treasure of your kingdom! Runan, you imbecile! Don't be such a party pooper! Of course you can! Of course you can! See? Even without being asked, you came to Wellt's aid, stopping Chancellor Codha and saving my wife and daughter. How can I not thank you? Compared to what you've done for me and my people, this sword is a paltry gift. Oh, I wouldn't go that far... that sword's absolutely amazing. Forgive me, I didn't mean to spurn your kindness... I accept your gift wholeheartedly. You're a good man, Lord Runan. I'd ask to hear your whole story, but we shouldn't tarry here any longer. We have a village to secure! Of course, King Raphael! And now we have Sol! How good is Sol? Mwahahahahahahahah... let's just say, "very good". Runan will love this. I tend to leave it with him, since he has no personal swords of his own, and it helps him a lot. He's joined us already, but I'll wait until after this conversation to talk about him as a unit. Sasha! It warms my heart to see you well. You're really alive, Dad! You didn't leave us all alone... Come now, Sasha. Dry your tears. You don't want Lord Runan to think you're a crybaby, do you? It's been months since you left for Balt! When I heard that the battle was lost, I... I thought I'd never see you again! Mother kept saying that she believed you were alive, but we both feared the worst... We are in the middle of a battle, but... Well, all right. Come now, Raphael, have you seen your and your daughter's stats? You'll be fine. ...come to think about it, I wonder what he thinks about the fact that she's come to meet him, tears in her eyes, while sitting on top of a gigantic wyvern and being covered in blood and gargoyle insides. And he hugged her in that state. He's a true father, that one. Thank you, Runan. Thank you for protecting my daughter. Did you say something? Don't worry about it. Anyway, from now on, I will fight alongside Lord Runan. Why don't you go back to Wellt for now? I'm sure Mother is worried about you. No, I'm not leaving! Mother even gave me her blessing! I won't go back, even if you order me! Well, far be it from me to stop your proud Salian warrior blood from boiling. If Lord Runan approves, I have no objections. Ah, I see. So he approves of the blood and the gargoyle insides! That's a load off my mind. Really!? Oh, thank you, Father! Thank you so much for letting me stay and keep murdering people! When the battle's over, I have to tell you about that time I slashed someone so hard, his torso fell to the ground while his legs were still standing! It was amazing! Tee hee~! ...Lord Runan, may I ask that you expl-- WAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAH! COME HERE, FIENDS! WITH THIS SWORD, I AM UNSTOPPABLE! YES! YES, LORD RUNAN, JUST LIKE THAT! DESTROY OUR ENEMIES! SEND THEM ALL TO HELL WHERE THEY BELONG! Whew, this is remind me of my younger days... ...am I still unconscious? Is this a terrible fever dream? And now she has even more luck. Not the greatest of gains, but still, it's there, so might as well take it. HP 50% - Strength 15% - Skill 20% - Speed 15% - Defense 15% - Magic 0% - Luck 30% - Mastery 15% Ah, yes, Raphael. Raphael's bases are insane. 17 strength? Really? He can also use virtually any weapon, he can't get hit critically ever, he's got Wrath, Pavise, Urbanite which is also neat, a mount... who cares if his growths are lame? Those bases need no growing! Raphael's just all sorts of good. He has exactly one weakness: His dismounted stats aren't so hot. Still, he's got something else of note when he dismounts. We'll see what it is shortly. Also, I'd like to note that he's got a Knight Crest. A Knight Crest whose existance I had forgotten. Serenes doesn't list it. This is really good, I was worried I wouldn't be able to use any other Cavaliers, but it seems I might just be able to use one more. I think when we go back to Holmes, I'll grind San and Esther up, and the one that looks best will get it. Unless I can get my hands on another Knight Crest, then there'll be no need to choose. No, Arkis is not getting used. Don't even start. Not much else to do right now. Damnit, you! Sasha, you're going after him again as soon as you can! The usual fights. Ah, here it is. Take a gander, everyone. Dismounted Raphael. Is that the greatest dodge animation ever or what? It's so godly, there's even a video of it on youtube. A video! There's like, four videos of this game on the internet that aren't LPs or OST compilations! He didn't quite kill the enemy, but that's fine, I just wanted him to show off that dismounted dodge of his. The skeletons are heading their way! Stop it, I want you to go towards Leonie! Pursue them! Shoot this guy while at it! Thanks to Canto, Mintz is able to take the lead. Perhaps the pros would tell me to save up this thing, but... naaaah. Raphael's mounted animations aren't quite as magnificent as his dismounted ones. His horse is great, though. Other than that, yeah, he's basically just like every other Paladin in the game. Come on! Sasha! You want to impress your daddy or not? Finally! Ey, she got that point of speed back. Good for her. Shirou and Raquel kill. Shirou will get another level. ...yeah, you're not getting that Knight Crest. The competition's stiff enough as it is. Not bad, but if we could get those skeletons to return, it'd be swell. Oh, by the way, did I mention... Sol is effective against monsters? Because it very much is. It's also a crimson blade that shines white. It looks about as great as it is, statistically. That was not necessary, Raphael. Unlike in Sacred Stones, Pavise actually has a decent chance to work, since it doesn't cap at 20% because promoting doesn't reset the unit's total level here. Raphael has a 1 in 4 chance of triggering it at base. It's great. A level for Runan. I think a good level is in order this time around? Yep, that's good all right. Whoa whoa whoa, come back, but not so enthusiastically! I want you to live! For now. Level. Eh. Seriously, Sasha? What's wrong with you? Getting Dad back has given you a moral compass? C'mon! I don't call you the Murderprincess for nothing! ... Besides, he's about as deadly as you are. No need to be afraid. I'm sure he'll be prouder of you if you kill more efficiently. ...... ...I don't know why, but I have the weirdest itch in the back of my head. Ah, I'm sure it's nothing. Raquel, don't let up! Leonie hasn't beaten you yet! Ah, that's all right. You may not be quite as amazing as she is, but you know what? You're still the best girl in my heart. Besides, you'll be right at home in Holmes's route. That innate mercy will be useful in more situations than one. Oh-- pffft he just tackled the Gargoyle! Runan, what the hell?! He killed it like that, too! Home stretch now. The enemies attempt to avenge their friend who got tackled, but they weren't counting on one thing: Runan's dancing skills! And now he's dead. Sorry, but no. He'll heal up next turn with the Sol. Ohoho! Crit! That's it? Eh... Wait, what? Goodness gracious, Sasha, stop! It's already dead! And then she did it again! That point of speed back, she's attempting to get her magic back as well. I'm perfectly fine with that. Fools, they're still trying to hurt Leonie, even though that never works! Dance, Runan! Dance the waltz of the sun! That's it for the Gargoyles, they're history. Visiting time. But if you use this staff, you can help your comrades keep fighting, even from far away. Now go show 'em what for! A Paces a-Hundred Yet Still I Cure! Excellent! Oh it's you! I could never figure out how to use it, but maybe you'll have better luck. Bolganone? You tried to start with Bolganone!? You're crazy, Best NPC! A loose cannon! Can I just say I love the description of this tome? It's awesome. Anyway, see this? This is going to be the formation for the remainder of the chapter. Leonie will dodgetank for experience, then Shirou will attempt to do things. Mintz was also nice enough to only kill a few of his enemies, sparing the rest for the Archers. Good man. Ergh... really? Wait, what? Yet another free item from monsters?! There's a 0.5% chance of getting one, if my information is correct, and this is the fourth we've seen! And the worst part is, they're all the shitty ones! There's all sorts of amazing stuff to be gained from monsters, but I only get the common stuff! Ah, well. I still dig the shield. Last chance, Shirou. Impress me! ...you're so out. Anyway, with that out of the way, it's time for a training montage! Really small one this time, you won't have time to prepare the training music, really. Not sure if Leonie'll find much use for that. Who cares if she needs one more arrow, between the capped speed and Flurry, negating defense is just a useless skill. And then, of course, she proceeds to show it off. Not much to see here, she just turns orange and fires normally. In the midst of all the fighting, Meriel levels up as well. It's bad, as usual. Lee, too. What a shame. I'll show this off because it's the first Runan crit we've seen. The Summoner had already ran out of summoning charges, don't worry. GOOD GOD! Calm down, Runan! It's like a better version of Julia's normal attack! ...this guy's amazing. Why would anyone prefer Holmes over him? And then he even got Draco! Sadly, the animation's the same as a normal crit, but still. Look at that damage! Ah, there it is, the customary bad level. What a shame. Still, best get "bad level, good level" than "bad level, bad level". Leonie, not you too! That's no way to finish your Archer career! Since there were a few enemies left, I decided to give them to Shirou. Well, I've given you more than a fair chance. Go join Arkis in the bench. ...okay, just one more chance. You'll dodge as much as you safely can, and if you can level up, perhaps... ...yep, it's over already, because he faces a critical chance. Goodbye, Shirou. You tried. I... I think. The time has come, everybody. Her unpromoted stats were already unbelievable. Can you imagine how they'll look now that she's promoted? She's Raquel but yellow now. In more ways than one! Hwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! Ahhhhhhhhhhh heck yeah! Game's over folks. Game's fucking over. All right, let's go. Next time, we get some text, and perhaps this time I'll actually hurry the fuck up. It's going to be a busy update, though, so no promises. Whenever it comes, be ready to read, so do try and fare well until then. See ya! To be continued... BrightBow
When they dismount, Royal Knights trade in most of their stats for style. And man, talk about kids growing up so fast. Must be quite an experience to not see your child for a few months, just for her to meet up with you riding a dragon. Btw, since Shirou reached lv10, could you show off how he looks promoted? The Ewoks victory makes sense with guerrilla warfare in mind, even though they're still ridiculous. Boba Fett escaped the Sarlac Pit by blowing himself out with grenades in the Expanded Universe, and... yeah, the Emperor was distracted at that point. 11 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Awesome, but what exactly is he planning on doing in office? You need to protect the enemy from him. Unlike Pent, tho, he stays put, so that's easy. Don't think the weak weapon will make a difference, though, he still kills everything with it just fine. Sasha continues to show off no matter what class she's in. I can see why her wyvern ducks it head all the time. Barely a few turns in and already it has its hands full. You know what? Why don't we give it a name. I advocate Wally, or Wallace. 11 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Bolganone? You tried to start with Bolganone!? You're crazy, Best NPC! A loose cannon! BrightBow
So I just took a little look at the Maximum Stats page to see how much room Thomas and Norton have to still grow and apparently... Tanks have a 30 Defense cap. Maybe it's an error because otherwise no stat ever goes above 25. Except for luck which is 30 for every class. He's like the Seanad. 17 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: I didn't mean the Six Sages, I meant the four disciples of Sage Morse. Ah, whoops. 17 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: And in today's episode of "Dayni is Albertus's Hypeman"... I mean, would I be wrong? Also, to hype up something else, Ippei does Old Hector and Eliwood. 18 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Now I don't know if you're refering to Lorenz being obscure because he's FE11 General Boss That Is Old #35895382 in the same map as Obviously Recruitable Camus, or Lawrence, the General of Legend (because we've only heard of him). Can't say I mind that, honestly. You know, I did mean Lorenz (as in the original there was no hint for him), but you're right. 19 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Up north, we can find Raphael, and I mean, do I need to say anything? Look at those stats. They speak for themselves, I think. Oh, yes, that's not a graphical glitch. He can use every single weapon type. His situation is a bit like Pent's in FE7's desert chapter. You need to protect the enemy from him. Unlike Pent, tho, he stays put, so that's easy. Don't think the weak weapon will make a difference, though, he still kills everything with it just fine. Like Pent though, those bases are all he could need for this. 21 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: I like how she conveniently sidestepped magic just so it stays at 9 to spite me. As is the way. 22 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yeah, I don't think I regret doing this. She lost 6 points of magic, but she's still got a decent amount, and a point of speed which is nothing at all, in exchange for Mintz-tier defenses and 15 strength. That's two points short of Norton's strength. Norton's! I guess the mixed fighter is gone. That strength is great though. I'll make the new edit next time. 23 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Magic? Perfect. She's ready. No, no it's not. I mean, she at least levelled magic, but still. 24 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Fuck that guy, he's a monster, a sub-human. Raquel has no problem piercing it through with a 73-damage arrow. I don't think Tellius fellows would like her. I don't think they'd mind so much, as monsters and "sub-humans" aren't quite the same thing now, are they? I think Ike would like to have a word. 25 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Blistering barnacles, that was amazing. I managed to catch the worst possible frame for the Gargoyle, but still, take my word for it, it was cool. Still, doesn't change the fact that Sharon's royally fucked. She did less damage with a crit than it did to her. Why did you bring her? (Especially considering she dies soon after) 27 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: So, Guenchaos is as crazy as Nergal power wise after all. And no, you added this one, you made him as OP and as easily distracted. :P 27 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: I mean, Albertus said to stay frosty, that's on him. 28 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Not bad, not bad at all! She's a little speedier, but a little less powerful and defensive than Maruj. This is also going to make life easier for me in a future chapter, which is always a nice thing to keep in mind. Alicia must have felt that loss. 29 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Oh, please... what is that hitrate, Shirou? Are you sure you're Lionheart's second-in-command? How much did you pay him to be called that? The level isn't even that good. Strength's fine, but where's the mastery? He's like Cecilia as Mage General: More in their position because of their administrative prowess. 29 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: She kinda flips enemies off when shooting. I still can't say the things I would about him. 35 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Okay, I managed to catch the weirdest frames. What's she doing in that second shot? Trying to sell in a market stall? 35 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: No move, but I mean, does it matter? She's gonna have the same move as Raphael when she promotes. It'd be nice for her to have more. Still a good level regardless. 36 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: To think that my friend's scrawny little lad would grow up to be taller than me! I tend to leave it with him, since he has no personal swords of his own, and it helps him a lot. It has some fine hit now doesn't it? Before Tearring I don't think I expected to say that for an 80 hit weapon. 38 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Come now, Raphael, have you seen your and your daughter's stats? You'll be fine. ...come to think about it, I wonder what he thinks about the fact that she's come to meet him, tears in her eyes, while sitting on top of a gigantic wyvern and being covered in blood and gargoyle insides. He has exactly one weakness: Well, I see Sasha got that strength from somewhere. Both her parents, I mean. 40 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Also, I'd like to note that he's got a Knight Crest. But why not not use the man who's going to hell anyway? 41 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Is that the greatest dodge animation ever or what? Saint Rubenio
Part 37 - Gameplay? In my plot update? Good news, everyone! I made it though Gotoh's Maniac Desert of Inconvenient Quests That Serve No Good Purpose And I Still Hate That Old Fucker's Guts Yeah with only one death! I truly have improved as a tactician! Bad news, everyone! That one death was Palla. Overestimated her, put her in range of a silver bow to protect Malice from a killer axe without realizing the silver axe nearby killed her with the silver hunter's help. What can I say. Worth. Malice deserves all the blood that needs be spilt. She's better than Ogma in every way, y'know? Then again, so is Merc!Matthis everywhere except speed. Really underwhelmed by the man, I must say. It's my first time using him, but he pales in comparison to those two, who happen to be some of my favourites. Oh, and then Linde, Feena and Frey died too. Gotoh already has a higher kill count in this run than anybody else. Old fucker, goddamn his fucking guts, always the same... doesn't even care his motherfucking castle is full of Thieves and dragons that crit everyone... getting slaughtered at his doorstep... grumble grumble... It resulted in him bleeding to death because he somehow managed to become aroused by the incident. Can't imagine it was pleasant... but it sort of has a poetic feel to it.Turns out all he ever wanted was for a woman to kick his ass, and he ended up getting more than he had bargained for. Just make sure someone reigns him in from using allies as cannon fodder in war, keep him from trying to die in battle until he's done in office, and we're good. I can just imagine the scene... Declare war on Salia. B-But why, President Eugen? I must have battles to die in. All... all right, Mr. President. S-Shall we ask Wellt for assistance on this... war? Yes, please do. Tell them to attack Lord Lionheart of Selba. Then we'll have an easier time taking Senay! But-- No buts! I am the president, and what I say is what shall be done! Or do you mean to become my enemy? Please, don't throw me to the dungeons for life...! I have a family! You know what I say about the personal matters of my enemies, right? ... All because I noticed Ragman would be easy to edit into Bagman... and the lore practically wrote itself. After all, if Ragman's costumes were bags and a symbol of the poverty he lived in, why wouldn't Bagman's be Bags... a symbol of his wealth? The rest was just logic dictated by the notion the bags are valuable. This has to be the stupidest lore in a thing ever. And I love it! If you remove the e from his name it sounds so vulgar. Like the common weak licentious man he is. I see, it's Cunt. Fun fact. Levin swords were actually named after a certain bishop, but had an e dropped so I could pun the name. So here goes. Leevin sword. I'm ashamed to admit, I at first was thinking who the heck Levine was. He has a split personality acquired. His gentle, good-natured personality could not cope with the death and despair on the battlefield, so he created a second self to commit whatever needed to be done. Runan's psyche is deeply wounded, and the only cure is the end of this war so he need never fight again. That's actually really sweet. Let's end this war for Runan, then! Dammit Sharon. You didn't even need to die in battle for a good afterlife in Norse mythology. Also I can't help but notice she's disregarded the meme as being relevant to the town she guarded... which probably deserves to burn really. I haven't forgave the innkeeper. I have not forgot the innkeeper. I don't think anyone ever will. All of his weapon-mastery. Once he was a fine archer. Now he can't even use a bow that isn't wood. Please... why'd he do that?! Has he no sense? Who uses a silver axe on trees? Damn man. That's why he's giving it to me! Brigadier Berlin? Is that you? Again? Pfft. Lee's so top-tier look at this un-edited photo of him fighting. Believable. Slaver's future.png That's not a valid file name, pulease. Remember that theory I had earlier in this post? Well consider this Exhibit A. Hwhahahah! Sure. Did Eugen just do a Frollo reference, or is it just natural to send unholy demons back to hell where they belong? Both. Eugen's cool like that. Kind of like Sharon. R.I.P. Too soon. And you thought she was going soft. It was nothing but a feint to lure her foes into a false sense of security and make the kill all the more gratifying. Alas, it became a little too gratifying and she got carried away. Also I might point out the skeletons were technically already dead before the battle started... but semantics. Sasha just can't get enough of killing, can she? She'd best be careful, Daddy's back and he might ground her for life! The morning sun, come to vanquish this horrible night? How dare you...! Also, I hate to say this, but now that I know a bit more about Mustafa... is it just me, or is he seeming a bit like Barbarossa two? He's not a carbon copy, by any means (I dig the whole "boss tries to peacefully settle things with protagonists but protagonist is too much of a dickhead to cooperate"), but the similarities are there. Although, I suppose there are only so many ways one can do the whole "enemy boss who's nice but must die" trope. So did the hidden forest in Gaiden. And it's easy to get lost in the woods, if two survival games (one of them a board game) I've played are anything to go by. Good point. The Ewoks victory makes sense with guerrilla warfare in mind, even though they're still ridiculous. Boba Fett escaped the Sarlac Pit by blowing himself out with grenades in the Expanded Universe, and... yeah, the Emperor was distracted at that point. I am aware that Boba Fett lived, but that still doesn't change the fact that he still got destroyed like a random Morgan. And the guerrilla thing doesn't change the fact that they're the color of shit. And the Emperor being distracted doesn't change the fact that he was distracted. Awesome, but what exactly is he planning on doing in office? The top part sounds like he's for healthcare, while the bottom seems nationalistic. He'd probably turn into a nationalistic dictator, since he hates allies so much. So yeah, basically Hitler with a real beard. ...that's... not very reassuring. Let's not let him become the leader. Hmm... insects. Interesting... I will be disappointed if it doesn't live up to its name and the defender isn't attacked by millions of tiny bugs. Especially since I don't think the Fire Emblem spell did that. As a matter of fact... On 10/8/2017 at 2:51 AM, Saint Rubenio said: I really like this spell. It's quite... unique. It's hard to beat Nosferatu, but this is a worthy contender. I take back my proposed disappointments. Do they make any buzzing or other bug-like sounds to make the attack even scarier? Not really "insect" noises, no. They pull a sort of hellish shriek that's a little horrifying. Wait is she... wearing a skirt... on top of a flying dragon? ...I'm having flashbacks to when I asked that same question back when playing Awakening... It's Sasha. You think she cares? Heck, she's so unhinged, she'll probably try using that as a distraction so she can pull Maerchens on her enemies. Jesus Christ that was too far even for my recurring Murderprincess jokes. Can't go back and delete it now, though. I'm Spanish, I've got bullfighting to watch and paellas to eat. Depends. Do gargoyles have conscientious thought? Maybe. Will Sharon die, or will another poor soul be added to the death count? Stay Tuned! Same bag time! Same bag channel! Nananananananana Bagmaaaaan nanananananananan... Ah, so it turns out they did survive. I could complain about you using a common cliche, but these characters have more to say and do in the story, so it doesn't bother me as much. Yeah, well... Of course. I'm glad I didn't bet anything now. Saint Rubenio LP Irony Moment Number We-Should-Have-Started-Counting-Years-Ago Exactly a year and half ago, when I started FE12. Then again, I had nearly no audience for half of that one. Ah, how time flies... That is an odd way to hold a lance. As much as ever. Somewhat random, but I can't help but wonder what's going through the wyverns head whenever I see it. It's like they can't decide whether they're proud, embarrassed, or confused over having murderprincess ride them. I would guess it's more scared than anything else. Frantically looking for more enemies to fly towards so Sasha won't get bored and start pulling its scales out. Again. Is it just me, or does she look like a poet? I think it's the sleeves. Hmmm... I can see it, yes. "One's an anomaly, two's a trend. Rule #89, Boss." - Scorch Heheheheh... I'm perfectly fine with this being the LP's trend. I see what you mean by her giving the middle finger when using magic. Although the second picture reminds me of this: Wesker, correct? I'm more worried about the fact that his coat has a mind of its own. And now it looks like the wyvern is dodging Sasha's long sword. That animal's the true hero of this story. Telling a poem or a story. I don't know why, but I can't get that thought out of my head. Ah, I see. I would agree with you, if it weren't for how Awakenings portraits are at a similar size yet the models are all at different heights. I remember being surprised when I remembered how short the female cast of the game is.. Ingame models are probably not something to take as gospel either, when it comes to characters' sizes. I mean, you have things like Wendy and Amelia who have the exact same General sprites as mountains like Dougy and Murdock. ...Oh right! This is the king that was missing in the first arc of the game! Why did I forget that? Still, nice to see closure on that. ...that was a weird moment to realize this. And right! She's her daughter! Right, murderprincess, can't die, right. She can die, actually. She was only a game over unit in Chapter 1. Why did I forget this stuff? Because you're not paying attention. Pay attention! I always questioned what Fire Emblem would look like with Mount and Blades blood system. And her wyvern is probably confused as to what all this is about. Barely a chapter in and it's already being dumped plot details that were given months ago. Not as confused as you, I'd wager. I read that as Saiyan at first and now I wonder if there's a connection. I doubt it. That is an awesome dodge animation worthy of a king. Hey, it's not every day that you get a playable king. Usually they tend to be more fond of appearing in exactly one chapter, dump money on the protagonist and collect their check for the game. Although crossbows aren't reloaded that way... Who cares, really? ...Remember when you said Runan was a Sith? I'm starting to believe you now. Pffft... oh, goodness. Poor guy, we shouldn't make fun of him like that... Still! No regrets. It's perfect, when you think about it hard enough. The end of this battle is also quite fitting, given that it's something similar to what happens if you try to have someone fight Barbarossa at close range, especially Runan of all people. Just like the Alm and Celica in dungeons in Echoes! Except that initiates the fight instead of killing the gargoyle, so it doesn't exactly count. Then again, Barons have an attack where they tackle the enemy, so... Barons have that, really? Interesting. Nice gif. How/Where did you make it? Usually I don't make gifs of anything because taking screenshots of every single frame would be cumbersome, but in this case it was only 4 frames, so I went for it. As for how I made it, I just googled "gif maker", clicked on the first result, and followed the instructions. Sasha continues to show off no matter what class she's in. Yep. I can see why her wyvern ducks it head all the time. Barely a few turns in and already it has its hands full. That's Murderprincess for you. She's a handful for anyone, be it a human, a pegasus or a wyvern. You know what? Why don't we give it a name. I advocate Wally, or Wallace. Here's my vote for Wallace. Nice gameplay and story integration, even if it's only for an NPC. Best NPC* It's simple, yet shows its power. Indeed. Amazing what a cape can add, even if they're impractical in an actual fight. And it really is surprising that this is the first time Runan has activated a critical attack. Right? I never stopped to think about it, but it is rather baffling, especially since he's been using that iron sword with crit we got in Chapter 1 a lot. The game continues to alternate between cool promotions and lackluster ones. To be fair, at least she changed in this one. Sure, she's the same as Raquel, but it's better than all the swordsmen and swordswomen who didn't change at all. Oh my. I can say that I wasn't expecting that. Guy's craftied than his predecessor, that's for sure. Telekinesis is underutilized for the purposes of firing more than one weapon at once. Glad to see you know how overpowered that can be. Heh, thanks. I.. guess I'll take back what I said earlier about everyone coming out well... You probably should. Is this the Super Saiyan transformation moment for Albertous? Or... OR... Reveal hidden contents Is this what caused the fire last time the background was red? Nah, that was just Byrlyat attacking plot!me. This is something that was explained at the end of the FE6 LP, but don't worry. It'll be explained again later. I am ready to see what happens next... Ah, you'll see... On 5/3/2019 at 2:38 AM, BrightBow said: So I just took a little look at the Maximum Stats page to see how much room Thomas and Norton have to still grow and apparently... Tanks have a 30 Defense cap. Well, here's another one for you: one of the youtubers I watch the most these days is one from your country. See if you can guess who it is. If you do guess it right, I'll give Arkis one level. Ah, whoops. Ya dun' goofed again, sonny boy. I mean, would I be wrong? Not at all. Also, to hype up something else, Ippei does Old Hector and Eliwood. I'd seen that one before. It is pretty awesome. You know, I did mean Lorenz (as in the original there was no hint for him), but you're right. Hahahahahah. Nice! Like Pent though, those bases are all he could need for this. And a lot more than this! As is the way. The way to the bench, goddamnit! I guess the mixed fighter is gone. That strength is great though. Sasha felt she was too powerful. Killed her enemies too fast with those levin swords. She wanted to extend the agony... I'll make the new edit next time. Lookin' forward to it already. No, no it's not. I mean, she at least levelled magic, but still. Don't ruin the moment for me, hush. I don't think they'd mind so much, as monsters and "sub-humans" aren't quite the same thing now, are they? I think Ike would like to have a word. Didn't Ike leave Tellius, though? Maybe we'll find him here. She did less damage with a crit than it did to her. Why did you bring her? (Especially considering she dies soon after) Because of the way deployment works in this game. Instead of the slots we're used to since the GBA days, it uses what I'll call a "priority list". The game deploys as many units as it can, and only leaves out those who are at the bottom of the list. Of course, this means I can't not deploy people, even if I'd much rather not take them along, resulting in Sharon's untimely demise. So, Guenchaos is as crazy as Nergal power wise after all. And no, you added this one, you made him as OP and as easily distracted. :P Come now, it was all already there. We saw the extent of his power back with Eisenbach (I only dramatized it a bit further, perhaps), and he did leave the village in the care of the continent's second most generic man ever. Besides, why'd he go after Matthis and co.? He doesn't even know who they are, there's no reason for him to consider them a threat. I mean, Albertus said to stay frosty, that's on him. Yup. Alicia must have felt that loss. She probably threw up a little. I can't say I feel too much pity, after that horrid conversation with Maruj... He's like Cecilia as Mage General: More in their position because of their administrative prowess. Except Cecilia can tank a Zephiel crit that should've killed her three times over. What can Shirou do, other than to say "yes, Lord Lionheart!"? Kouhei Maeda just woke up in a cold sweat at the thought of women wearing appropriate attire. The same guy who directed the 3DS games directed 12? I guess that's why the story's such a mixed bag. Still, I guess he was still in the "George Lucas in the Original Trilogy" phase back then, since FE12's actually got a bunch of good moments in it, and a lot of the supports are good, in spite of the Avatar hogging most of them. And none of the women had boob windows there. Well, hope in one hand and all that. Dang it... Mayheps that's Oujay's skeleton? Oh, goodness gracious... that would explain the 1% crit, though. If you recall, all he ever did was gain skill, skill, skill and nothing else. ..... I still can't say the things I would about him. Soon, my friend... Trying to sell in a market stall? Oh, Jesus... It'd be nice for her to have more. Still a good level regardless. I agree with both accounts. .....Because Raphael's on his horse. Raphael's clearly a very short man. Poor Raphael, he's a midget. Then Liza's into shorter men? Huh... how curious. It has some fine hit now doesn't it? Before Tearring I don't think I expected to say that for an 80 hit weapon. True hit will do that for you. Probably a mix of concern and pride. Yeah. I'm sorry, you forgot something: Thank you, Runan. Thank you for protecting my daughter. Even if she seems like she doesn't need it- Did you say something? Ah, silly me, I must've skipped over that part. Well, I see Sasha got that strength from somewhere. Both her parents, I mean. From what we know of Liza, it seems like she's quite the badass too, so... But why not not use the man who's going to hell anyway? Because I don't feel like it. Understand? Fancy for him isn't it? Shame his bases aren't so hot. Yeah... 5 def concerns me. Then again, Runan seems to be all attac at this point. He's all about killing. He cares not for himself. He knows Eugen will just revive him if he does fall, so he doesn't give a damn. He's a mad one, that NPC. That Best NPC* Holy crap, all the early archers I've seriously used in FE must be jealous. To be fair, she isn't exactly early. The early Archer here would be Luca, and, well... I see a trap. Everyone, fall in! They were fools, indeed... A succinct summary Matthis. That's basically it, he didn't have much character back then. Really, why take on the guy who's on his own later? I mean, who does he really have besides himself that would stand to this mad man? He did get defeated twice (once, the one we saw last LP, and then offscreen while Albertus was off causing plottwists to happen) by him. He's probably just scared. Or is Rormand..... stronger than Matthis? The horror! Could be, I mean, he's a Sage. Probably harder to beat for a fellow spellcaster. Ruben.exe has activated I see. Is this the moment I say "ME IS GAWD!"? ........ I was kind of expecting Albertus actually. Way to slam the fridge shut. Hahahah, oh c'mon, aren't you his hypeman? Why would you be expecting him to die? Man, what a wuss. Is Rormand meant to be so broken that he has to do this? He's dumb, okay? He's less dumb than the last one, but he's still dumb. ono a dragon. I like how you're always singing his praises, but the second he transforms into an even more powerful entity, you're always just like "nah, don't care anymore". Also, Binding Blade's banner units got leaked if you're interested Rubenio: (LEAK Spoilers.) Yes, I am aware. Spoiler Sue and Lugh are cool. Rutger was predictable, but it still disappoints me. Idun's... eh, okay, I guess. She is the main villain, I suppose. However, complaints aside, I'd take this over more alts any day. Seriously, this is a series with hundreds upon hundreds of just playable characters, and they waste half their updates on fucking alts of the same four mofos. C'mon! On 6/3/2019 at 3:34 PM, Goddess Serra said: Time for a dumb post about Latin and Kiefer Sutherland! Who even is that? Yeah, Jesus! That means "I saw an animal coming out of the sea!", because cultists are apparently really keen on animals. Btw, I don't recall scorpions being sea animals. Give Aethin a break, he probably had to google translate Japanese to Latin. That was never going to end well. Yeah, so apparently my favourite actor decided to stop fighting terrorism as Jack Bauer, ended his (second, I hope, damn you Moss!) term as President of the US, put down his guitar, travelled to a fictional dimension and founded a kingdom by chopping people in half! Holy Kiefer that's badass! Or maybe it's actually General Lawrence Sutherland, y'know? He could be General Lawrence. I think we're on to something here... Wait. Guys, I think we might have found the person Sasha got her murderous instincts from. I wish I knew who he was so I could get the reference... Meriel used Bad Latin! It's super effective! TearRing Saga fainted! ("Numera stellas si pote" means "As many stars as possible"... and it's not even regular Latin! It's (iirc) some kind of corrupted form of the language!) I see. ... Now I need you to investigate whether or not General Sutherland is actually Lawrence Sutherland. Update: Spoiler Last time, women died. Today, hopefully, less women will die. How can you tell? I thought Runan told you to stay behind, multiple times. Oh, by the way, friendly warning. Lore dump incoming. Fasten your seatbelts. No, I'll be fine. I'm more concerned about His Majesty. Is he all right? Have you seen him? You wouldn't mind me coming along from now on, would you? I love how nonchalant he is about it. He's the King of Wellt! My soldiers can hardly contain their joy at seeing Your Majesty alive. You're an inspiration to us all. No, it was because of my mistake in trusting Istoria that so many lives were lost at the Battle of Balt. I owe an apology to all of the citizens of Wellt whose sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers died because of my folly. King Raphael, now that you are well, will you not take up the command of the allied forces against the Empire once more? I would be honored to fight alongside you as one of your generals. I absolutely refuse. The Champions of Yutona should be led by its most capable commander, and you have proven yourself many times over. No one could possibly lead us but you. But, Your Highness...! Now if you'll excuse me, Lord Runan, I have a few things to sort out. His Majesty's pride has suffered greatly after the loss of so many of his knights at the Battle of Balt... Yes... I understand how he feels all too well. For now, I think it would be best to leave him to his thoughts. At least he can still hold a sword... Perhaps I was a bit too presumptuous... "Presumptuous"? How was that "presumptuous"? You offered to step down and let him be the commander! I'm afraid I do. I'll tell you all that I know. You recall how the dragon Mousa destroyed Nolzeria last year, of course. Nah, but I do recall how the dragon Mouse destroyed Nolzeria last year. Big difference. Naturally. Mousa stole my father from me. To quell the dragon, my father Octavus and Sage Eisenbach fought against Pontiff Guenchaos of Gerxel. Thankfully, they were able to snatch the Ring of Reeve from him and revert Princess Maeve to human form before her transformation became permanent. Princess Maeve? I've never heard of a "Maeve" in the royal family... Yes, almost nobody has heard of her, but King Badoum's youngest child with Queen Elena was indeed a girl named Maeve. Because she was born with the Brand of Yutona, she was kept in the Water Shrine under the guardianship of Lord Narith and was never allowed to leave. Imprisoning his own daughter for being blessed by the Goddess... That sounds just like what our foolish old King Badoum would've done. Under the surveillance of a nose... oh, the humanity! Anyone would have done the same. Two kingdoms, brought to ruin within days. If Mousa turned out the same, the damage would be irreparable. Everyone was aware of that. Even Salia's royal family was torn apart after their Princess Maria was also born with the Brand of Yutona. But Lady Claris, the four guardian dragons are servants of the Goddess sent to protect us from from(sic) evil, are they not? Why do people fear them so? Didn't the incident with Kranion only happen because Leda betrayed Yutona's precepts? I'm afraid that's not quite the case. True, they are intended to protect us, but they have oft been manipulated by those who wish evil upon the world. Until a Shaman matures enough in her power to be able to control the beast within, there is always the possibility that others will force her to become a bringer of death. That is why they are feared. After the rampage of Kranion and now Mousa, it's only natural to be wary of them. So Princess Maeve is... not our enemy? Not at all. It was Guenchaos who murdered Sage Maios and stole both Princess Maeve and the Ring of Reeve from the Water Shrine. With the Ring and his magic, he was able to manipulate her into becoming Mousa and destroying Nolzeria. Guenchaos... Runan is so appalled by this story, he's doing the Roy thing of repeating one word his interlocutor said. After Nolzeria was burned to the ground, Princess Maeve returned to her senses and realized what she'd been made to do. Horrified, she fought against Guenchaos's enchantments with all her might, but as long as the Ring remained in his hands, it was hopeless for her to resist. That poor girl... Uhhh, he dropped the D bomb! Guenchaos has gained a powerful enemy. As I said, my father and Sage Eisenbach fought against Guenchaos after that. They were able to reclaim both the princess and the Ring of Reeve, but only at the cost of my father's life. What, did Eisenbach just warp away with them both while Octavus stayed behind and took Zahhak shots to the face to ensure he didn't follow them? That's... tragically plausible. Sage Eisenbach warned me that if Guenchaos managed to recapture Mousa, he could not hope to fight them both alone. Therefore, he entrusted the Ring of Reeve to me, to keep it far from Princess Maeve. I believe that Guenchaos somehow figured out that I had the Ring, and his attack today was an attempt to steal it back. Everything is starting to make sense... Now I understand why Guenchaos invaded the Temple of Mars and Killed Lord Eisenbach... He was trying to protect Princess Maeve from being taken by Guenchaos! Oh, my. I wonder if we know of a girl he explicitly stated needed to be protected from Guenchaos, and is coincidentally of the same class as the other girl we know for a fact can transform into a Guardian Dragon... Precisely. I've been preparing myself for this day ever since I heard of Eisenbach's death. However, there's one thing that I still don't know. You mean... you don't know, Lord Runan? What...? Never mind... We can talk about this another time. They're not even being subtle about it. Oh, okay, they just spilt the beans right here. Sure, I'm okay with that. I'm sure Lord Runan would understand. Be brave, and reach out to him. I-I'll try... Later... Quote L-Lord Runan, it was me...! It was me all along! I killed your father! What!? Perhaps I should not have encouraged her like that... Good... Now, allow me to return the Ring of Reeve to you, Lady Maeve. But you can't! Not after what I've done... I think it's far safer with you now than it is with me, especially since you are traveling with Lord Runan. I know he'll keep you safe. Runan... Ah, yeah. That. I don't like this part of the story. The only reason is that it seems either Aethin or Kaga could never make up their mind on how long she spent outside the Water Shrine. You'll see what I mean. You said that those three days you spent at Razelia were the happiest days of your entire childhood. ... I heard from my father that Lord Gramud saw your pitiful conditions at the Shrine, and he decided to take you from there even if it meant being tried for treason. Lord Runan was your best friend in those days before you were found, was he not? Yes, but Lord Runan doesn't... He doesn't remember you? No... Hmm... Are you sure he's not just pretending, and he's waiting for you to open up to him? Oh, no, I can confirm, he doesn't even know how long she spent outside the Shrine! Again, more on that later. But why... Why would he pretend to not remember? If I were sure he remembered me, then I could tell him everything. I wouldn't have to feel so alone... Are you kidding me?! The one character the game goes out of its way to call an idiot, and it's the only one with a goddamn brain in the main cast! But whether he truly remembers you or not, you must summon your courage and talk to him about your past, and about Mousa. I know you can do it, Lady Maeve. That was such an awkward scene... I sure hope the next one isn't so much. Oh, no... I just said I hope the next scene isn't so awkward! Oh, hey, Lionheart! ...Hwargh! Not Holmes again! I was getting used to people being kinda reasonable for a change! If we can overthrow him, then we can restore Salia to its former glory. With you as the king, right? That's what all the citizens have been saying. No, I will not become king. Governor of Selba is enough for me. But aside from Ahab, you're the only living member of the Salian royal family, right? King Dagnell and your brother Duke Robert are both dead, as well as Queen Maria and her only child... if anyone's first in line for the throne of Salia, it's you, Lionheart! Besides, you and King Dagnell shared an uncle, so you're basically cousins. If I was Lionheart, I'd be really disturbed right about now. This guy knows way too much about his family tree... Holmes, you're really eager to have me become the King of Salia, aren't you? Care to tell me why? H-Hey, it's got nothing to do with me. I'm just an adventurer who likes having friends in high places, you know? Just an adventurer, you say...? Well, I won't press you. My main force is off in Selba, but my personal guard should be enough to defend this city. Thank you for all your help, Holmes, but it's about time you got going, isn't it? (What's up with this guy? He's acting really funny...) Gee, Holmes, it's almost as if you're trying to push him to become king just so you can come ask him for favors later on! Yep! Where are we going next? North, to Leda Valley. We're heading through the caves in the Erial Mountains to get to the ruins of Leda Castle. I've never been to Leda before! That's probably a good thing. Decades ago, it was a prospering kingdom, but now the only things living there are demons and other foul creatures. ...and that's it? Oh, thank goodness, the cutscene ended before they could start to be dumbasses again... Buckle up, guys. We've got four mandatory skirmishes before the actual chapter. All right, then. It's time to... ...backtrack! It's time for Ruben Makes Things More Inconvenient For himself For No Good Reason #4. Is something the matter? It's Letena... She set out after you! I thought she had caught up to you, but if you haven't seen her... Oh, Letena... Wherever could you be...? What the heck?! How did she just leave without you noticing?! There's no way she'd ever make it, she can't see anything! She's going to bump into a tree and die, best case scenario! ...I understand! I shall begin searching for her at once! I promise I will find her, so please don't fret! Thank you, Sir Kreiss... If anything ever happened to her, I could never face my husband again! Kreiss, you have an entire continent worth of ground to tread, and you're not on your own, you're in an army that moves according to the whim of Lieberia's dumbest man. You're never going to find her. Ever. As promised, Esther and San will get some training today. Don't disappoint me, girls! Not bad. Not bad at all. ...yeah, I'm sorry, Eclipse, but... these are her dismounted stats, to be fair, but even when mounted, she's... pretty bad. Pretty sure San's won this contest. Don't be too upset, my dear moderator. Keep in mind I'm still using Maruj for you. And, well, myself, I like the guy. I want him to succeed his grandfather in flying colors! So there's no need to ban me, is there? Don't ban meeeee...! Going back to Blaad, I visit Bagman. Urgh... I'd forgotten how annoying this whole thing was. Here's a funny tidbit about entering Blaad from the overworld: everyone gets infinite move, and there are no turns, so there's no need to press the end button all the time. Anyway, I promised we'd be paying Footballman off for good RNG rolls, and I shall do just that. Here you go, Footballman. Take this money I just stole from Bagman by exploiting my rewinding powers. Now the G protecc. Squadallah, we're off! In the armory, I sell a couple fruits Holmes was holding on to, and buy a crossbow and a pilum. I swear, cash in this game is so hard to come by... well, unless you grind at Bagman's, but I don't have the patience for that. I suppose giving Footballman three grand didn't help either, but next time someone dodges a fatal hit, you'll all be thankful I did it. Anyway, Ligria again. This time, we start inside the fort. We still need to break down the gates to leave, because the Archers are assholes and don't want to let us go. I tried to have San use the arena, but she's still much too weak for it. As a side note, why don't my Pegasus Knights wear that badass helmet? She's really slow and really brittle. This makes her worse than Kreiss. Pffft! Doggone it, San, defense, speed! Uhhh! That's cool! WHOA! Calm down, Krishna! You're not supposed to be good at combat! What even is this frame? More speed? Fine by me! She's got a 30% chance to steal now. According to FEWOD's listed formula, at least. She got another level here, but it's... eh. She also stole an axe. More eh. Better than San's level, though. Not really, but still. 9 speed, girl? Is that really all you want to have? And with that, we're done with the first of the four mandatory skirmishes. Pfffft... c'mon, Kreiss, there was no need to show off like this. You're going to make San cry. I mean, sure, she's already as strong as Kreiss, but with that defense, she's not going to go far. Oh, no, it's far from over. We've got more! This one's just a joke. It's eight Entombed. I don't think even Katri would have too much trouble against that. It's good experience, though. Never gonna say "no" to that! More speed for the speedy tank. You needed that, but where's the defense that you need even more badly? ...huh. Ah, it was just a fluke, I see. One sucks defensively, the other sucks offensively. What am I going to do with you two? Take the last one, Garo. I said I'd feed Krishna the skill potion Runan's been hoarding, but honestly, I think Garo will make better use of it. He's absolutely amazing, but he can't hit anything without Julia's support... No such luck. We've got an invisible enemy to face off! The most interesting thing is this: a random witch with a dark spell. I hope I can get my hands on this. You know, just in case we get a dark mage any time soon... Fuck not hurting them, I want more experience. I might not brush over this one. It's more difficult than most skirmishes in the game. We've got savage fighters with a crapton of health and strength, and a couple of them even carry silver axes. Also, Dracozombie. 'Nuff said. Ah, rats. I was hoping she'd warp on top of Maerchen. Well, at any rate, we got a new set of bad Latin and awesome animations to check out! It's, quite literally, Death. I think I like it better than Swarm, but nothing can beat Nosferatu. At this point, I tried stalling to give Maerchen time to get up here. Sadly, she decided that, instead of warping elsewhere, it was a better idea to attack Garo at point-blank. Thankfully, Garo was an absolute unit, and... ...Jeiganed the bitch for Maerchen! Garo, my dude, you're awesome. And now it's ours! Tom, cover Maerchen. Yeah, no. Cool animations, though. That's that for this one guy. No! Stop it! You don't need this! Lionel kills a Harpy with a badly drawn spear. Then Krishna's awesome. She doesn't seem to be doing so well, though... that frame's really fitting for a girl who's just taken a nearly deadly blow. To be honest, I was hoping she'd steal the guy's silver axe. Garo then lures the Dracozombie closer. I was forced to let Holmes seal the deal. This game sure does love Archers, doesn't it? Finally! Eeeehhh... Perfect! Not... so perfect. Urk... Lootin' time. Shieldblade! That's excellent. Aaaand let's do it again. I want this. It may not be so great, but... I want it. Meaningless flavor text. We've got to hurry up. I don't want that asshat to make the cave crumble on us. Thus, I whip out the Chu-ko-nu at last. Hahah! Look at that! Formidable! He got strength, at last! He's far below Raquel, Leonie and Holmes offensively, but, I mean, 19 defense. That alone gives him a niche of his own. Besides, I like the idea of being That One Guy Who Used The Tank Seriously. Hurry, everyone! It's already turn 3! Level. You know, you're looking an awful lot less impressive now that we've got another unit with a move growth. I like how Lionel crits people to death even when he's not so wounded. We've finally got an opening, but Maerchen's far behind, and as you could deduce from the terrible AS, he's got the tome equipped. He'll shoot off an earthquake this enemy phase if we don't do anything about it! Krishna, I'm counting on you. Astounding duds. A shame yours is an enemy-only class. Ahahah... I knew I could count on you, Krishna. You're great, don't let sensible people tell you otherwise. The Entombed then attacked her. Oh, well. Get a good level out of it, maybe? Ah, what a shame. But her stats are already far better than I would've ever expected from her, so... There's an Ogre and the Sorcerer left, but I don't feel like going after them, so let's collect our free goods. A staff noone can use and a tome that I would give to Alicia if I was using her, but as things stand, will be keeping in the convoy for later. And so they did, for we're back to the world map. We can't go back anymore. The only way is forward. I should mention that, if you're trying to do the Letena event, visiting Verje when I did was the one and only chance the game gives you to do so. What, forgot to do it before going into the caves? Screw you, then, you wasted that elixir and charm. Showtime. An actual chapter card! Then let's get the text out of the way and end the update. Should be painless enough. Yep, we sure are. According to this old map, the ruins of Leda Castle shouldn't be much further. Would you care to explain why in the world we're here, then? Back in the day when Leda still existed, this was a rich and bountiful land. But now thanks to the war and Kranion, it's been reduced to such a wasteland... What war? Or, you could dump backstory on Katri. Sure, that's cool too. Sigh... I already miss Runan. He didn't randomly blurt out insults at Eugen every now and then. The war had gone on for seven years, and it looked like Leda was going to lose. The Ledan king, desperate to win by any means necessary, decided to break the ancient commandments and summon Kranion for the purpose of war. That's the story, anyway. Kranion's power was overwhelming, and Salia actually did surrender. But Kranion wouldn't stop its rampage, and it destroyed city after city in Leda. Eventually, it even destroyed the palace, and the kingdom was no more. Oh, wow... Kranion still roams the Valley of Leda today, coming out every dozen years or so to kill any unfortunate passersby. Then why in the world are we going there?! It's because Kranion went crazy and started attacking Leda that everyone calls her the Witch Dragon. The Witch Dragon... So I'm... like her...? You just dumped a paragraph of lore she didn't ask for on her! So when it's you boasting about how much history you know, you've all the time in the world, but now that she's voicing some very reasonable concerns, given what you just told her, you suddenly don't have time to stand here and talk? Bullshit, Holmes! Bullshit! We're going to keep pushing forward until we reach the ruins of the palace. I don't expect the gargoyles will stop chasing us, so just keep running! Why? Why are we going there!? How did the developers allow one unit's death to break the story in so many levels?! It was so easy! They just had to add one scene - just one! - where Holmes goes "I feel bad for Renee and his brother. Let's go get the Dakruon so we can bring them both back!"! But nope, we're just here because the landscape's beautiful. Even though it's a friggin' wasteland. Sigh... so, next time, we get a filler monster chapter with a... half-cool side objective? And again, no bosses to be seen here. Unnh... though, to be fair, Holmes's tale is going to get a whole lot more interesting once we get through this chapter. As a matter of fact, the chapter after this one is pretty damn cool. The shitstorm is just about to subside, so hold on strong, and I'll be seeing you next time, folks. Farewell! As a matter of fact, the chapter after this one is pretty damn cool. The shitstorm is just about to subside, so hold on strong, and I'll be seeing you next time, folks. Farewell! I guess Holmes just has nothing better to do than risk his whole team to a dragon. Nice idea Holmes. On another note my Shadow Dragon Matthis is doing... okay. Nothing great thanks to speed issues (which I anticipated). There's very little doubling him.. but he's not exactly doubling anything either. Admittedly, he's got really good HP strength, and defence, and the first few levels I got him were spectacular. The Roger The General is doing a legendary job. I've not had a better general (in Shadow Dragon), and I've used Wolf as a General before. As for my healer... I did try to use Wrys.. but did basically have to drop him. Poor guy just wasn't going to do the job. I wish I had more to say but I'm out of witticisms for this update. BrightBow
That Sorcerer looks like he loves giving hugs. Fortunately for Sun, Black Knights have significantly better stats then Commando Knights. So she should get both +4 speed and +4 def from her promotion. Hawkwing
4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: > Mustafa beats the Masked Man Yeah, I'm sorry, I cannot agree with that. Which is entirely why the "It's a personal list" is a disclaimer in the first video. Don't blame you, though. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Also, I hate to say this, but now that I know a bit more about Mustafa... is it just me, or is he seeming a bit like Barbarossa two? He's not a carbon copy, by any means (I dig the whole "boss tries to peacefully settle things with protagonists but protagonist is too much of a dickhead to cooperate"), but the similarities are there. Although, I suppose there are only so many ways one can do the whole "enemy boss who's nice but must die" trope. I'd go with "there are only so many ways to kill a kind enemy boss". There's a reason I said they're tied. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: He'd probably turn into a nationalistic dictator, since he hates allies so much. So yeah, basically Hitler with a real beard. ...that's... not very reassuring. Let's not let him become the leader. I actually have an idea about something I could do with Eugen being President, but that would require asking what American State he would probably hail from and whether he would be a Democrat or Republican. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: As a matter of fact... On 8/9/2017 at 8:51 PM, Saint Rubenio said: I really like this spell. It's quite... unique. I stand corrected. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: It's Sasha. You think she cares? Heck, she's so unhinged, she'll probably try using that as a distraction so she can pull Maerchens on her enemies. Oh.. my... Is she really so immodest? Also, KDIF in regards to female wyvern riders wearing skirts. Don't know if the pre-3DS games had them, but I know Awakening did. I also don't know what baffles me more: The fact that they aren't wearing pants when riding on top of a flying scaly dragon, or that said females don't mind wearing dresses, considering their personalities. That's one of three stupidest things in videogames that I question if I read/saw correctly. The other two being a sentence in Skyward Sword, and the other being a comment in Blustone about how werewolves apparently kidnap their spouses to marry them, which lead to a ten minute long observation on what that would mean for the lore of the world. ...What the heck? I don't I share both, know that they're on my mind: Spoiler I have both a really easy and a really hard time picturing that, and I don't know why. Spoiler So, apparently the traditional method for werewolves to get engaged is to kidnap their spouse. My ten minute asking spree on the topic is below: Wait, so in this world, werewolves kidnap their spouses? Does this mean that instead of rings, the sign that two people are getting married is that one captured the other? Are there norms about this kind of thing? Is it the methods or the cleverness about the kidnapping that determines whether or not it was impressive, honorable, or romantic, and the like? As in, is going the whole shebang with the kidnapping tropes equipment-wise seen as more impressive than throwing a bag over their head or tying them up, or is leading ones potential spouse into an elaborate trap more admirable? Or is kidnapping someone through technicality would be seen as more clever and noteworthy than simply grabbing them and running? Or is it not based on social norms at all, and instead part of the dating process finding out what your partners preference is in this area? In that case, instead of teaching the “love at first site” and ‘Prince Charming’ crap, did the old werewolf Disney movies instead show young werewolf boys and girls about the several different ways of being kidnapped so they can decide for themselves which one they like the most? I can see why this is considered the traditional method. No doubt a few supposedly “romantic“ moments where ruined when somebody without a knowledge of werewolf culture attempted to be the hero in that kind of situation. Not to mention the kinds of problems that can cause with interspecies romance and the laws with various cities. Though now that I think about it, this does explain why so many characters are so nonchalant about being kidnapped. I know that some of the more experienced hunters consider it to be Midgard’s unique way of recruiting members, and therefore just deal with it, but maybe some of the other characters are just used to the idea that they might be stuffed in a sack or something along those lines at some point in their lives? Except that isn’t a convincing answer on just how disturbing the implications would be. …By the way, I just remembered that Kain (hilariously, I might add) has a fanclub that is mostly, if not entirely, composed of females. And Kain is a werewolf (even if he looks more like a cat), and said fanclub contains members from every race in the game (werewolf, coffee rabbit, polar bear, and human/sapient, by the way). What I’m trying to say is, what is going through the dirtier parts of their minds? And suddenly Kain minimalistic responses of “what did I get myself into?” make sense. ... This was originally part of a personal project that I planned on once I had some good recording equipment and competent drawing skills, but progress on it screeched to a halt once once the bosses of the game became more powerful than the stages preceded them suggested, and I often had to beat them by the skin of my teeth. I do plan on continuing it sometime, though 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Nananananananana Bagmaaaaan nanananananananan... Now someone needs to edit a bag into the Batman transition. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I would guess it's more scared than anything else. Frantically looking for more enemies to fly towards so Sasha won't get bored and start pulling its scales out. Again. I can easily see that. Now I wonder what they do in-between battles... 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Wesker, correct? I'm more worried about the fact that his coat has a mind of its own. Nope. It's Ocelot. And the reason his coat is moving about is because he's fighting in an airplane with the doors open. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Ingame models are probably not something to take as gospel either, when it comes to characters' sizes. I mean, you have things like Wendy and Amelia who have the exact same General sprites as mountains like Dougy and Murdock. Good point. Especially when reclassing is a factor in some games. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: ...that was a weird moment to realize this. I actually looked back a few days after the previous update to reminisce on some old jokes, and what do you know? He was off fighting elsewhere while Runan and co. were fighting Codha. Holmes route really did do a number on us. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: She can die, actually. She was only a game over unit in Chapter 1. That's... an odd design choice. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Not as confused as you, I'd wager. Naw, I'm following what's happening, just forgot that a character mentioned earlier in the story actually appears later. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Hey, it's not every day that you get a playable king. Usually they tend to be more fond of appearing in exactly one chapter, dump money on the protagonist and collect their check for the game. That, or they're a weak and defenseless unit that you have to protect and keep at your home base. Or you're the king in the game, but you don't personally go to battle. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Who cares, really? Someone who's reloaded a crossbow before. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Pffft... oh, goodness. Poor guy, we shouldn't make fun of him like that... Still! No regrets. It's perfect, when you think about it hard enough. The end of this battle is also quite fitting, given that it's something similar to what happens if you try to have someone fight Barbarossa at close range, especially Runan of all people. Wait, so Barbossa leaves Runan to die in lava? And takes his Sol sword and gives it to Runans secret child decades later? And then dies by giving said child time to escape and ascends to a higher plain of existence? Or is this an alternative universe because Barbossa didn't have the high ground? 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Barons have that, really? Interesting. Well, a shoulder tackle, which means that the spikes on their pauldrons have a purpose. It's just a cosmetic combat animation, but it's cool nonetheless. I would have brought up some other games that have rush attacks similar to what Runan was doing, but my mind blanked. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Here's my vote for Wallace. ... ...I need to be careful what I wish for... 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Nice. Apparently, wallet damage is quite literal in this universe. No wonder merchants sell bags if they're much sturdier. Out of question, where did you get the market stall from? 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: However, complaints aside, I'd take this over more alts any day. Seriously, this is a series with hundreds upon hundreds of just playable characters, and they waste half their updates on fucking alts of the same four mofos. C'mon! The only real positive I can think of for alts is that they allow weapon and unit combinations that Fire Emblem doesn't regularly have, and I won't lie that there are some themes for alts I want to see (mostly a cowboy and Olympics one, although I wouldn't mind several for the latter). However, I do strongly agree with you that they have several more characters (some of them very popular) that they still need to add to the game, and that alts really aren't needed at the moment. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Last time, women died. Today, hopefully, less women will die. That's not a very encouraging way to start... 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Oh, by the way, friendly warning. Lore dump incoming. Fasten your seatbelts. I'm ready. Especially since I know by now that it will probably be referenced later. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: You wouldn't mind me coming along from now on, would you? I love how nonchalant he is about it. He's the King of Wellt! Which might help in explaining why he didn't ring any bells when he first appeared in person. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: No, it was because of my mistake in trusting Istoria that so many lives were lost at the Battle of Balt. I owe an apology to all of the citizens of Wellt whose sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers died because of my folly. I take back my previous statement. That's exactly what I'd expect a good leader to say. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: King Raphael, now that you are well, will you not take up the command of the allied forces against the Empire once more? I would be honored to fight alongside you as one of your generals. I absolutely refuse. The Champions of Yutona should be led by its most capable commander, and you have proven yourself many times over. No one could possibly lead us but you. But, Your Highness...! Now if you'll excuse me, Lord Runan, I have a few things to sort out. This reminds me a bit of Alm's promotion to a leader in Gaiden/Echoes, except it's much better handled here. Runan has defeated a major villain in the first part of the game, and has proven to be a competent commander with a number of military victories by this point in the story, so there's more weight to the decision to keep him as the protagonist a commander. Not to say that Alm's promotion doesn't make sense. That conflict was small scale, Alm proved to be a competent fighter in the few skirmishes he was in, and it could be seen as a PR stunt that worked out for the better (he is the (supposed) grandson of a well respected knight, after all). Still, it seems like Runan earned this, while Alm was handed leadership. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Perhaps I was a bit too presumptuous... "Presumptuous"? How was that "presumptuous"? You offered to step down and let him be the commander! I suppose Runan thought that Raphael would jump at the opportunity to lead again, without thinking that the king would want some time to recover after awakening from a coma and knowing he has the blood of his soldiers on his hands. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I'm afraid that's not quite the case. So people who can turn into dragons being idiots until they grow a brain is the canon explanation? ...Why did they send Katri with Holmes, again? 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Guenchaos... ...I just realized that Guenchaos has the word "chaos" in his name. I don't know what I'm more surprised at: That it took me that long to realize that, or that it's an incredibly obvious name for a villain. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Later... Quote L-Lord Runan, it was me...! It was me all along! I killed your father! What!? Perhaps I should not have encouraged her like that... Why is Runan smiling? Also, way to spoil a plot point, even though the game gave up being subtle about it. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Ah, yeah. That. I don't like this part of the story. The only reason is that it seems either Aethin or Kaga could never make up their mind on how long she spent outside the Water Shrine. You'll see what I mean. I suppose we will see how inconsistent the game is about it. And three days isn't a whole lot of time to be away from ones home. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Are you kidding me?! The one character the game goes out of its way to call an idiot, and it's the only one with a goddamn brain in the main cast! I think this is the stupid "smart person is clueless in the matters of love" jab/cliche instead of calling Runan a fool. A cliche I still hate, because romance and intelligence have little to do with each other. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Wait, Albertous can turn into a dragon? Also, this may or may not mean that she'll come back in some form or another... 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Overall, a good scene. I really wish I could comment more on these, but I admit to finding it hard to pinpoint certain things to discuss with these. I especially liked Albertous's speech/rant and Eugen apologizing for his error. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: If I was Lionheart, I'd be really disturbed right about now. This guy knows way too much about his family tree... Maybe Holmes is a fan of Crusader Kings, and knows how important knowing someones family can be? Then again, I'm not certain if Holmes is even capable of pulling the kind of cruelties in that game in real life. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Holmes, you're really eager to have me become the King of Salia, aren't you? Care to tell me why? H-Hey, it's got nothing to do with me. I'm just an adventurer who likes having friends in high places, you know? Just an adventurer, you say...? Well, I won't press you. My main force is off in Selba, but my personal guard should be enough to defend this city. Thank you for all your help, Holmes, but it's about time you got going, isn't it? I love how quickly Lionheart saw through Holmes bullcrap and used his own excuse against him. He'll be fun once he joins our army proper. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: The king of "Worth a Shot(s)" happened off-screen, apparently. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I see that Arran has used The Nameless Ones catchphrase (as well as mine on Discord). 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Okay, now you're just being mean. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Kreiss, you have an entire continent worth of ground to tread, and you're not on your own, you're in an army that moves according to the whim of Lieberia's dumbest man. You're never going to find her. Ever. In other words, Daggerfalls main quest, but with a blind girl instead of an undead king. And without the army. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Now the G protecc. Footballman has a bad habit of cutting off what he was going to say to donors. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I tried to have San use the arena, but she's still much too weak for it. As a side note, why don't my Pegasus Knights wear that badass helmet? I actually think that's some kind of circlet or headband. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: What even is this frame? I... uh... I got nothing. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I think I like it better than Swarm, but nothing can beat Nosferatu. Better than the Death spell in Gaiden/Echoes, where a skull just appears and breaths on the victim. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yeah, no. Cool animations, though. Interesting design for the enemy. I don't believe we've seen it before. Anything special about them, or are they just glorified fighters? 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I want this. It may not be so great, but... I want it. In other words, the upheaval spell from Gaiden/Echoes, but more than two enemies have it. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Astounding duds. A shame yours is an enemy-only class. What... is that pose? 2 hours ago, BrightBow said: That Sorcerer looks like he loves giving hugs. ... Yeah, I can't get that mental picture out of my head now. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: We can't go back anymore. The only way is forward. I should mention that, if you're trying to do the Letena event, visiting Verje when I did was the one and only chance the game gives you to do so. What, forgot to do it before going into the caves? Screw you, then, you wasted that elixir and charm. Kaga loves being a troll on Holmes route, it seems. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Sigh... I already miss Runan. He didn't randomly blurt out insults at Eugen every now and then. Instead, they have civilized debates about life and death. 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Then why in the world are we going there?! Holmes wanted to play Skyrim for real? 4 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Sigh... so, next time, we get a filler monster chapter with a... half-cool side objective? And again, no bosses to be seen here. Unnh... though, to be fair, Holmes's tale is going to get a whole lot more interesting once we get through this chapter. As a matter of fact, the chapter after this one is pretty damn cool. The shitstorm is just about to subside, so hold on strong, and I'll be seeing you next time, folks. Farewell! Punished Dayni
Oh shoot, it's next time. Here, Sasha's second album. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: The Seanad? *looks up seanad* ...oh, it's the Iran Senate! Of course, it all has to go back to your fair nation, does it, Dayni? Well, here's another one for you: one of the youtubers I watch the most these days is one from your country. See if you can guess who it is. If you do guess it right, I'll give Arkis one level. The whole reason I brought up the Seanad is because it's considered so useless in a lot of people's eyes. It's pretty limited in its powers and plenty associate it with a bunch of even more useless politicians getting a cushy paycheck. Course, apparently not enough for us to abolish it a few years ago (I blame the alternative suggested, which along with the (broken) promises to actually reform it are why I voted against.). jacksepticeye is probably not it. I mean, let's be honest of course it isn't. I can't think of anyone who actually watches him and he has millions of subscribers. I'm also going to avoid some of the most obvious ones (Foil Arms and Hog being the first that comes to mind) as that doesn't mean that someone from another country knows who they are. There's also the irish lad who does an engineering channel, so him maybe. I mean, you should issue that challenge to some of the others. At least you're using Maerchen, so I'm not mad. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Sasha felt she was too powerful. Killed her enemies too fast with those levin swords. She wanted to extend the agony... Then she got enough strength that she does that anyway. Not her best plan. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Didn't Ike leave Tellius, though? Maybe we'll find him here. How should I know, I'm only on Part 1 of RD. Fucking hell the Dawn Brigade are horrible to work with. I don't know how Sothe does it. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Because of the way deployment works in this game. So you did want to use less people? 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Come now, it was all already there. In the care of..... in the care of Mr Generic? I mean, it's a rule for evil overlords not to let their incompetent people take it on, that's on Guenchaos. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Except Cecilia can tank a Zephiel crit that should've killed her three times over. What can Shirou do, other than to say "yes, Lord Lionheart!"? He can be a distraction? 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: The same guy who directed the 3DS games directed 12? I guess that's why the story's such a mixed bag. Still, I guess he was still in the "George Lucas in the Original Trilogy" phase back then, since FE12's actually got a bunch of good moments in it, and a lot of the supports are good, in spite of the Avatar hogging most of them. And none of the women had boob windows there. Pretty sure I was wrong there. I was on about the art director, so my apologies it's not Maeda, it's Toshiyuki Kusakihara instead (which is weird, as he directed SoV. Then again, Hidari did the art. That damm fine art.). 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Oh, goodness gracious... that would explain the 1% crit, though. If you recall, all he ever did was gain skill, skill, skill and nothing else. And Luck. Not that it mattered when he got crit to death. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: True hit will do that for you Also sub 50 hit on as many weapons as there is in Tearring specifically. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Because I don't feel like it. Understand? Alright, I guess. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: He did get defeated twice (once, the one we saw last LP, and then offscreen while Albertus was off causing plottwists to happen) by him. He's probably just scared. I mean he could just find a Luna tome and figure out how to use it. Then again, they seemed to be all destroyed by BB. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I like how you're always singing his praises, but the second he transforms into an even more powerful entity, you're always just like "nah, don't care anymore". You're clearly misreading me then. That's me trying to downplay the fact that everyone just got a dragon that might attack near them. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: However, complaints aside, I'd take this over more alts any day. Seriously, this is a series with hundreds upon hundreds of just playable characters, and they waste half their updates on fucking alts of the same four mofos. C'mon! Hell, turns out Thea (Tate) was on the banner (Rutger's a GHB, so we all get his delicious bases), so that's neat. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I absolutely refuse. You offered to step down and let him be the commander! I mean, he was presuming Raphael would be willing to take over the forces now that they've come to him. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yes, almost nobody has heard of her, but King Badoum's youngest child with Queen Elena was indeed a girl named Maeve. Because she was born with the Brand of Yutona, she was kept in the Water Shrine under the guardianship of Lord Narith and was never allowed to leave. I mean, have any of these stories ever ended as intended? If Zeus can get in for a booty call, I don't trust that someone with an actual serious reason won't. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Not at all. It was Guenchaos who murdered Sage Maios and stole both Princess Maeve and the Ring of Reeve from the Water Shrine. With the Ring and his magic, he was able to manipulate her into becoming Mousa and destroying Nolzeria. Some believe the rings, token of the goddess' power, are necessary to maintain order. But they're wrong teacher. The rings are to blame. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Uhhh, he dropped the D bomb! Guenchaos has gained a powerful enemy. Runan, with his middling to good stats, will make a terrifying enemy. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: What, did Eisenbach just warp away with them both while Octavus stayed behind and took Zahhak shots to the face to ensure he didn't follow them? That's... tragically plausible. And so the Octavus died off screen. That's a shame. And you're also implying that's possibly not what happened? This is Tearring, he's not coming back. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: L-Lord Runan, it was me...! It was me all along! I killed your father! What!? Perhaps I should not have encouraged her like that... It could have been worse: IT'S ME RUNAN Aw son of a bitch! What? IT'S ME RUNAN, IT WAS ME ALL ALONG, RUNAN. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Good... Now, allow me to return the Ring of Reeve to you, Lady Maeve. But you can't! Not after what I've done... I think it's far safer with you now than it is with me, especially since you are traveling with Lord Runan. I know he'll keep you safe. I'm sorry Claris but aside from moving it away from the Hidden Village HOW IS THIS ANY SAFER. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Ah, yeah. That. I don't like this part of the story. The only reason is that it seems either Aethin or Kaga could never make up their mind on how long she spent outside the Water Shrine. You'll see what I mean. So as vague as the amount of time Alm and Celica knew each other as kids? Or even more so? 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Are you kidding me?! The one character the game goes out of its way to call an idiot, and it's the only one with a goddamn brain in the main cast! But whether he truly remembers you or not, you must summon your courage and talk to him about your past, and about Mousa. I know you can do it, Lady Maeve. So we're not going to see this happen. I'm not remembering it clearly so calling it now. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: But what about Frost? 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Wow, look at him give up. He's supposed to be powerful for once. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yeah, what he said. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I'm sorry, but fuck me that's intense. There's also a chance she returns in some form, but you wouldn't do that again, right? Right? 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Also, WOW Eugen, are you lamenting the lack of an alehouse here more? No wonder Runan's disappointed! /s I can understand wanting to drink away your sorrows, but still Eugen. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: That's a lot of people who would just make a tasty meal for Medeus. Saint Rubenio
Part 38 - A filler chapter in which I finally take less than 40 turns to seize. So I was playing Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb earlier. I know, noone cares, shut up. Thing is, I've found possibly the funniest glitch ever in the game. Here it is. Bask in its glory. This wasn't even hard to pull off, I did it by complete accident and then replicated it thrice for the screenshot. This is gonna be me when I reach that one chapter I've been talking about so much. I'll be sure to keep the image handy to use then. Replies: Spoiler On 8/3/2019 at 4:55 PM, Mad-manakete said: What is a Manakete? Just a miserable little pile of references. But enough of that. Have at you. All these references... sure makes your skin thick, huh? Me? I was born with thick skin. Hell yeah, that's one way to jump franchises! Bonus points for anyone who gets this one. I guess Holmes just has nothing better to do than risk his whole team to a dragon. Nice idea Holmes. He's Holmes. He's dumb like that. That's Matthis for ye. People need to stop listening to pros. They're wrong. It is I who holds the truths of this world. The Roger The General is doing a legendary job. I've not had a better general (in Shadow Dragon), and I've used Wolf as a General before. As for my healer... I did try to use Wrys.. but did basically have to drop him. Poor guy just wasn't going to do the job. The Roger The General will get the chicks, one way or another! I wish I had more to say but I'm out of witticisms for this update. And later you just sneakily double-posted when you came up with witticisms for this update. No complaints here! Good middle-ground, there, I approve of it. I actually have an idea about something I could do with Eugen being President, but that would require asking what American State he would probably hail from and whether he would be a Democrat or Republican. And you're asking me, a Spaniard? As in, Spain, Europe? Okay, I'll bite. A republican from Maine, because he's the maine man of every scene he's in. I stand corrected. You really need to play Marth's games. Oh.. my... Is she really so immodest? Might be. Anything in the name of slaughter, right? Also, KDIF in regards to female wyvern riders wearing skirts. Don't know if the pre-3DS games had them, but I know Awakening did. I also don't know what baffles me more: The fact that they aren't wearing pants when riding on top of a flying scaly dragon, or that said females don't mind wearing dresses, considering their personalities. To be fair, I'm pretty sure fliers wore skirts since as far back as FE1, so yeah. KDIF, but even earlier than you might expect. I don't I share both, know that they're on my mind: Reveal hidden contents I have both a really easy and a really hard time picturing that, and I don't know why. Reveal hidden contents So, apparently the traditional method for werewolves to get engaged is to kidnap their spouse. I do plan on continuing it sometime, though I don't know if I want to know why exactly was Zelda sitting on that mustachioed potato's belly. Now someone needs to edit a bag into the Batman transition. We need an ENTIRE show around Bagman. I can easily see that. Now I wonder what they do in-between battles... It plots to escape. Nope. It's Ocelot. And the reason his coat is moving about is because he's fighting in an airplane with the doors open. Ahhh wrong series, okay. I do remember Wesker fighting in an open airplane as well, that's what threw me off. Good point. Especially when reclassing is a factor in some games. Maria becoming a Dracoknight like her sister. Not that I've ever pulled that off, that girl has the worst stats in all of Shadow Dragon, it's ridiculous. I actually looked back a few days after the previous update to reminisce on some old jokes, and what do you know? He was off fighting elsewhere while Runan and co. were fighting Codha. Holmes route really did do a number on us. Keep in mind, all these plotlines disappeared in Holmes's route in favor of watching Holmes run after Maerchen for 4 chapters and then just roam aimlessly. That's... an odd design choice. She's absolutely pivotal in the first two chapters (without her Runan'd never have gone to Verje), but after meeting Marlon he becomes the main driving force of the plot for the rest of the Wellt arc, so she's allowed to die. It's not so odd, all things considered. Naw, I'm following what's happening, just forgot that a character mentioned earlier in the story actually appears later. I get ya. That, or they're a weak and defenseless unit that you have to protect and keep at your home base. Or you're the king in the game, but you don't personally go to battle. Yeah, those alternatives are what more commonly happens. Someone who's reloaded a crossbow before. Well, I haven't loaded a crossbow before. All I know is that crossbow shoots four times and Tom is hilarious with it. Wait, so Barbossa leaves Runan to die in lava? And takes his Sol sword and gives it to Runans secret child decades later? And then dies by giving said child time to escape and ascends to a higher plain of existence? Or is this an alternative universe because Barbossa didn't have the high ground? ... ...you thought about it too hard. I suppose I should've seen it coming. Well, a shoulder tackle, which means that the spikes on their pauldrons have a purpose. It's just a cosmetic combat animation, but it's cool nonetheless. I can imagine Jagen doing that. Pffft... I would have brought up some other games that have rush attacks similar to what Runan was doing, but my mind blanked. Wario. ... ...I need to be careful what I wish for... Don't we all? Nice. Apparently, wallet damage is quite literal in this universe. No wonder merchants sell bags if they're much sturdier. Hey, people do tend to fear losing money more than losing their lives. Out of question, where did you get the market stall from? Off google, one of the first images. I mean, beyond wanting all of my favourites to be in the game (if they added Arran I might just come back), there are some absences that are just baffling. I thought Pent and Louise were extremely popular, coming from a lot of people's first game and being absolutely amazing there. But nope, better add the tenth Camilla. That's what the people want. It's not even Fates's fault, I don't hate its very existance or anything, but Heroes... is kind of another story. Such wasted potential... I honestly like Cipher more at this point, it represents a lot more characters and the art is more consistently good. That's not a very encouraging way to start... I know, right? I'm ready. Especially since I know by now that it will probably be referenced later. Keep that in mind, yes. Which might help in explaining why he didn't ring any bells when he first appeared in person. I have to agree that his portrait does not look so kingly. He does look like a royal, but not quite so royal. I take back my previous statement. That's exactly what I'd expect a good leader to say. Hwahahah... casual as though he may be, he is a great man. Even forgetting everything else in the game, remember that he's done what Raphael could not: he has defeated General Barbarossa and Fort Balt. It's understandable that Raphael would come to the conclusion that Runan's more fit to lead than himself. I suppose Runan thought that Raphael would jump at the opportunity to lead again, without thinking that the king would want some time to recover after awakening from a coma and knowing he has the blood of his soldiers on his hands. Makes sense, I guess. So people who can turn into dragons being idiots until they grow a brain is the canon explanation? ...Why did they send Katri with Holmes, again? Because they're secretly expecting Katri to accidentally burn Holmes to a crisp. That's my best guess. ...I just realized that Guenchaos has the word "chaos" in his name. Dude! I thought the title pun would be obvious enough by the time his name was dropped! It's like last LP's title, except more subtle! C'mon, man, I was so proud of that one... I don't know what I'm more surprised at: That it took me that long to realize that, or that it's an incredibly obvious name for a villain. Oh, dear... Why is Runan smiling? Because Runan. Also, way to spoil a plot point, even though the game gave up being subtle about it. In the scene before that, they were talking about how Princess Maeve, transformed into Mousa, destroyed Nolzeria. It has been stated multiple times that Gramud, Runan's father, was killed in that incident. Then in the next scene, Enteh was revealed to be Princess Maeve. No offense, but I don't think it's possible to get much more blatant than that. Spoiler my ass. I suppose we will see how inconsistent the game is about it. And three days isn't a whole lot of time to be away from ones home. It is very inconsistent. Suffice to say, it won't be three days anymore next time we hear about this. I think this is the stupid "smart person is clueless in the matters of love" jab/cliche instead of calling Runan a fool. A cliche I still hate, because romance and intelligence have little to do with each other. Trust me, there's a reason I said the story handles Runan's personal love story extremely well so many updates back. I'm willing to bet you'll be positively surprised. Yeah... Wait, Albertous can turn into a dragon? Go and give me more views in the FE6 thread. Also, this may or may not mean that she'll come back in some form or another... Could happen... or not... Overall, a good scene. I really wish I could comment more on these, but I admit to finding it hard to pinpoint certain things to discuss with these. I especially liked Albertous's speech/rant and Eugen apologizing for his error. Don't worry, I'm just glad someone's paying attention to these. Maybe Holmes is a fan of Crusader Kings, and knows how important knowing someones family can be? Then again, I'm not certain if Holmes is even capable of pulling the kind of cruelties in that game in real life. He's so dumb, he might pull them off by complete accident. I love how quickly Lionheart saw through Holmes bullcrap and used his own excuse against him. He'll be fun once he joins our army proper. Not much longer now. The king of "Worth a Shot(s)" happened off-screen, apparently. Kinda. Using Arran in FE12 after chapter 10, in itself, is a bit of a Worth a Shot. One which proved to be throughoutly worthwhile in that run. I see that Arran has used The Nameless Ones catchphrase (as well as mine on Discord). I see. Okay, now you're just being mean. I'm sorry. not. In other words, Daggerfalls main quest, but with a blind girl instead of an undead king. And without the army. And with 100% more blonde dumbass, I hope! For Daggerfall's sake, that is... Footballman has a bad habit of cutting off what he was going to say to donors. Time is more donors that give money, after all. I actually think that's some kind of circlet or headband. Either way, I love it. I... uh... I got nothing. Better than the Death spell in Gaiden/Echoes, where a skull just appears and breaths on the victim. Pffft that sounds amazingly cheap. Interesting design for the enemy. I don't believe we've seen it before. Anything special about them, or are they just glorified fighters? Glorified Fighters, I'm afraid. In other words, the upheaval spell from Gaiden/Echoes, but more than two enemies have it. I suppose so. What... is that pose? ... Yeah, I can't get that mental picture out of my head now. I don't think I can, either. Kaga loves being a troll on Holmes route, it seems. It was the route where he vented all of his frustrations in life. Instead, they have civilized debates about life and death. How peculiar, right? Holmes wanted to play Skyrim for real? Well, let me tell you, he's no Dragonborn, that one. If anything, he's going to be Dragonsnack by the time this is all over. I suppose that is something to look forward too. Should be. This update will be shorter than most gameplay updates, anyway. But you could still be a- I said good day! *Walks out. Raphael gives no fucks. I mean, he was presuming Raphael would be willing to take over the forces now that they've come to him. Fair enough. I mean, have any of these stories ever ended as intended? If Zeus can get in for a booty call, I don't trust that someone with an actual serious reason won't. Pfft. Some believe the rings, token of the goddess' power, are necessary to maintain order. But they're wrong teacher. The rings are to blame. Come now... Runan, with his middling to good stats, will make a terrifying enemy. His smile smites more enemies than any weapon. And so the Octavus died off screen. That's a shame. That he did, sadly. And you're also implying that's possibly not what happened? This is Tearring, he's not coming back. Yeah... It could have been worse: IT'S ME RUNAN Aw son of a bitch! What? IT'S ME RUNAN, IT WAS ME ALL ALONG, RUNAN. ...Context, please? I'm sorry Claris but aside from moving it away from the Hidden Village HOW IS THIS ANY SAFER. Hey, it's safer than it'd be with Holmes, right? ...this isn't going to end well, is it. So as vague as the amount of time Alm and Celica knew each other as kids? Or even more so? I don't know about that, so... perhaps? So we're not going to see this happen. I'm not remembering it clearly so calling it now. Your knowledge of this game is about as inconsistent as the amount of time Runan and Enteh knew each other as kids. But what about Frost? He's fine. Sorta. Wow, look at him give up. He's supposed to be powerful for once. Poor Matthis can't catch a break. Yeah, what he said. I'm sorry, but fuck me that's intense. Good, I succeeded. There's also a chance she returns in some form, but you wouldn't do that again, right? Right? Ah, maybe... Also, WOW Eugen, are you lamenting the lack of an alehouse here more? There's more backstory to why, including the reason he joined up in the first place. You'll find it if you ever get through the Binding Blade LP. Yep to all. Well, to be fair, the screenshot shows Arran had a 100% chance to hit... and enough damage to kill Medeus. So that wasn't just worth a shot but guaranteed victory. Probably one of my personally favourite runs I've had in FE12. Arran really proved his mettle. Can I ask what sentence it was? I'd like to know. Didn't he post it in a spoiler, though? The more you donate, the more he cuts off. By the end of the LP he'll be silent. Or he'll just go "M". To be honest, there were more dots than on a dalmatian when she knew so much about Katri's transformation right before the first route split. They may as well have drew the lines for us. ...but... they literally stated it last update...! Poetically, right after I complained about my Shadow Dragon Matthis not getting speed enough to double... he proceeded to proc the stat no less than 6 times... in a row. Between that and the speedwings I gave him prior to this turn of luck to keep him from getting doubled... he ended up matching OR bettering Camus in every stat bar resistance (obviously with the 0% growth) and skill (by a single point). Long story short, now two people in this thread have killed Camus with Matthis... albeit mine was less spectacular as it wasn't a one shot. All the same, there's something special to besting the most able warrior alive with a guy I've seen people say "you're better off with the experience for killing him than recruiting him". Asshats. That's literally the same story as my own Matthis! He was great everywhere except for speed, which he had procced like twice. I was talking with my best friend, with whom I was playing FE11, and he jokingly stated that his speed made him "bad" (I like to jokingly bully Merric, whom he calls "the Legend", so think of it as payback). Right after that, Matthis proceeded to get speed like a madman until he capped. I did help him along the way (I realized with just one more speedwing Camus failed to double him, and I just couldn't resist), but still, he got around 11 points of speed right after being insulted once by my friend. And that, my friends, is why I have faith in Matthis. Well, that, and being one of the few people in FE11 who join for an actually wholesome reason, and not by being seduced or manipulated by Shiida. People give him way too much crap. On 9/3/2019 at 5:27 PM, Hawkwing said: ...It's supposed to be "What the heck? Why don't I share both, now that they're on my mind". Amazing. I see. Thought it would be explained there. Go give me views, you damnable person! ...Yeah, I accidentally flipped who was who in that battle. Yet another reason why I need to track down Shadow Dragon and play it sometime. As well as to see if I can get an emulator to work on one of my computers. I mean, if you want to play FE12 (and I heartfeltly recommend it, it's my favourite FE after all), you're gonna need an emulator to read that sweet, sweet Arran support conversation. And, err... not much else, really. Nah, I'm joking, FE12 has lots of great moments, but it's a bit of a mixed bag, sadly. Guess he doesn't waste time with repeat donors. He's too busy arranging his forehead's moss. I think I kept forgetting that Ethel existed, honestly. Granted, any healer not named Lee or Katri I tend to forget about in this game. Heck, only two updates later, and already I mixed up Mel with the healer that gave us the warp staff (Godspeed, Ruben). > Ethel Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahah > Godspeed, Ruben Oh, c'mon, you just had to remember that of all things, didn't you? ...ahhh, in all seriousness, keep on being oblivious, you big cinnamon roll, you. That made my night when I first read it. Don't take offense, but that's how it is. Update: Spoiler Roger gets a pilum. Today's map. It's just another monster-only fillerfest. We got Gargoyles, more Gargoyles that will start popping out of those holes in the mountains in a few turns, a couple Ogres, a couple Dracozombies, and a big eyeball. The exit is at the bottom of Leda Palace (above the Dracozombies), which is ridiculous because the next map takes place there, yet here Holmes just walks right through them with half of his movement points. Frankly, in the long run, it'd be best to ignore that this map exists. The Arch Mogall isn't anything special, but it's standing on (or, more precisely, hovering above) a chest. What does the chest contain? A save staff. Not worth the detour, in my opinion. Especially since said detour would take whatever unit I decided to employ through the swamp. About the only good thing this map has going for it is that it'll be over before you know it (unlike that one chapter I dread so much). It has only about three screens of dialogue at the end plus what I might add, so next update will, most likely, be another gameplay update, and more importantly, a proper one. We just have to get through the filler. I didn't even take a screenshot of the first turn's movements. Not that it's so important, we just moved forward. Also, what a way to begin the chapter. Hoo, boy. He truly is the one and only, The Roger. After that, more of our guys are attacked. Kreiss is so tanky, it's really nice. Nihil isn't so noteworthy, but that's a decent level up. I'm fine with this, Lionel. Still, no move. Shish, Sheegen! Calm down! More balls. Bah... those things can fly. Time to take a look at Maruj's new animations. They're certainly a lot more serious, but his new sprite lacks that plane charm he had when he wasn't promoted. Although... wait. Is he flipping me off? ...okay, let's move on. Oh, by the way, he missed. Nice. Way to kill the mood. Well then. You get the kill, San. Man... look at that! It's like Runan, minus all the speed and 5 HP. No good, you need defense. Fighting. More fighting. And that's that. The enemies move two steps ahead to not face us because they're too far away and this map is crap. We do the same. Ahah... this is where that over 30% chance to steal starts to pay off. And that'll be a kill for San. Fine! I like this. Healing for Shigy. Yeah, this isn't the most challenging of maps. No dice. What a waste of levin shots. Really? Pfft. You never cease to surprise me in this run, Krishna. Oh dear, it's the only semi-challenging part about the whole map: the infinite Gargoyles. We'll worry about that in a moment. Now, it's time for an idea I just had. The Roger the Dragon Ass-kicker. A most perfect Jeiganing. And now... HA-- d'oh! You had better impress me, Esther. Last chance. I mean, it would've been difficult to screw that one up. ... ...how is it that both you and San find ways to make me not want to bench either of you? I can't promote you both! Purrrrrrety sure I can't, at least... Anyhow, the Gargoyles. And these guys, best not forget about 'em either! Lionel has better luck than Garo and doesn't miss the ball. Well, then. This is giving me flashbacks to the ball chapter. Except worse. Eheheheheheheh... 1 point til strength cap, fellows. Finally, it's over. Now, I could cap next turn, but I'd like to feed this one to Esther as well. A Gargoyle spawned on top of us. I kill it with wind and javelins. HP is all right. Julia levels up. Why is everyone learning Draco these days? Also, HP only level. Nice. Turn over. Same as last time. Krishna missed. Tom does his trademark magical tank dodge. Like I said, I could just end things right now. Probably will in two turns. San missed this time around, so Krishna got the Gargoyle kill. More speed? More steal! Awesome! Tomvel. Is this the speediest tank or what? Some more ball busting. Very well, next turn The Roger will lure the last Dracozombie closer, and hopefully, it'll be a repeat of the battle with the other Dracozombie. Missed again, perfect. Get Jeiganing, Roger. First, though, art. ...ah, rats. That's what I was fearing. He's still on top of the mountain. And Roger got hit... Mel cannot heal him enough and Katri doesn't have a Paces a-Hundred Yet Still I Cure. Well, then. Might as well hope for a fortunate crit. A shame. Yeah, I thought not. Such a pity. Pfft! All that remains is to get a little more experience. Shigen, c'mon, you're supposed to be awesome! Oof! That thing got rekted! Kreiss, please don't make my other riders look bad. Ergh, worse. He's the Man of the Many Twelves. He's got a lot of twelves. And I, for one, am perfectly fine with that. Uh, so long as Letena isn't another one of those twelves. But I'm pretty sure she looked around double that. Not to mention the detail that he does not have her, because she's RNGoddess knows where. Went off on a bit of a tangent there, did I... Aaaaaaaaaanyway, he's slightly better than both my prepromoted Paladins, and keeps his stats and lances indoors. Excellent! One more! Not bad. She's one hell of a unit, offensively! Though at this rate, she's going to ram into level 20 at max speed and I'll have to have her sit out a chapter, because we do not have the means to promote her, and I don't think we'll get any until I can have Raphael hand over his crest. That's the end of that. Told you it'd go by fast. I'm pretty sure all it took was 7 turns. Might've been 8, but definitely no more than 10. In other words, I've been sorta efficient and quick in FE for a change. Don't get used to it. Time for plot. Plot's over. Also, yeah, the thing that was very obviously never going to end well? It didn't end well. What a shocker. Well shit, that's one ominous chapter card... as well as the sort of card Barbarossa deserved. And that is all, folks! Rather uneventful update, but everyone loves level up screens, right? So it could be worse! Next time, a far more interesting update with rather intense gameplay and important plot galore. I forbid you to miss it, therefore it is your duty to fare well! So do it, and we'll read each other again soon! Buh-bye! Death count: Attrom Juliattisnacordst Sharon Reset count: 2 (Runan: 1 - Katri: 1) Dullahan's done with my incompetence:

Well, I'm not Birtish to have been forced to learn Latin or Italian to notice a significant connection to it but I know Spanish which kinda helps in making out what they say. I would like to learn latin if it were not so byzantine (pun intended, and not even historically accurate smh) and just grammatical structure of it. Hawkwing
3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: So I was playing Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb earlier. I know, noone cares, shut up. Thing is, I've found possibly the funniest glitch ever in the game. Here it is. Bask in its glory. This wasn't even hard to pull off, I did it by complete accident and then replicated it thrice for the screenshot. Indiana Jones drinking acid from the bottle. I would point out the ridiculousness of it, but the man survived a nuclear explosion in a refrigerator that was thrown several miles through the air. At this point, he probably has a few superpowers. (For the record, it was George Lucas's idea for Indy to survive the explosion in a fridge, believing it was a 50-50 chance thing(that has since been debunked). He never said that it would be that close to the blast, or that the fridge would be flying through the air.) 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: And you're asking me, a Spaniard? As in, Spain, Europe? Okay, I'll bite. A republican from Maine, because he's the maine man of every scene he's in. I'll take it. Now give me an hour or so and I'll make something later. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: You really need to play Marth's games. It's not through a lack of trying, I can tell you that. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: To be fair, I'm pretty sure fliers wore skirts since as far back as FE1, so yeah. KDIF, but even earlier than you might expect. In other words, a very literal Kaga Did It First. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I don't know if I want to know why exactly was Zelda sitting on that mustachioed potato's belly. ...Oh God... uh... er... maybe she thought it was a Snorlax? According to Smash Bros, children play on its belly. I'll take anything that will make it less disturbing. Now I remember why I lost sleep questioning if I read that right the first time I saw that. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: We need an ENTIRE show around Bagman. Bagman: Heads or Tails gambler trillionaire by day, crimefighter off-screen. In the ultimate irony, Bagman uses the greed of all criminals to ultimately bring them to justice. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Keep in mind, all these plotlines disappeared in Holmes's route in favor of watching Holmes run after Maerchen for 4 chapters and then just roam aimlessly. Right. Instead of having the great introductory arc of Runan saving a country from a corrupt leader, Holmes fights the biggest joke in the game just to stab him in the groin. No wonder Runan is missed so much. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: She's absolutely pivotal in the first two chapters (without her Runan'd never have gone to Verje), but after meeting Marlon he becomes the main driving force of the plot for the rest of the Wellt arc, so she's allowed to die. It's not so odd, all things considered. I see. That makes more sense. Although now I wonder why they gave Virion in Awakening the "retreat instead of dying" privilege throughout the whole game when he only appears in the main story once several chapters after he's recruited, instead of also giving him a death quote after his relevance is gone. I suppose you are right that IS likes appearing to be clever when they're really just lazy. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: ... ...you thought about it too hard. I suppose I should've seen it coming. You really should. You're talking to one of the biggest Star Wars fans reading this Lets Play, and every random thing in that series has a name, backstory, and an entry on Wookiepedia. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Hey, people do tend to fear losing money more than losing their lives. An unfortunate truth. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I mean, beyond wanting all of my favourites to be in the game (if they added Arran I might just come back), there are some absences that are just baffling. There's a reason I say Blustone is like Fire Emblem Heroes butwith a more intuitive Gacha system, better writing and character interactions, and more consistent artwork and animations. I'm just saying... Spoiler Whenever I promote the game, it feels like this, honestly: 'Course, I also wonder how many people I've scared off of the game when bringing up its weirdness. Too many things there only make sense/are (slightly) less disturbing with context. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I have to agree that his portrait does not look so kingly. He does look like a royal, but not quite so royal. It honestly reminded me of Mintz in the sense that it's noble, but there's an informal side to it. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Even forgetting everything else in the game, remember that he's done what Raphael could not: he has defeated General Barbarossa and Fort Balt. It's understandable that Raphael would come to the conclusion that Runan's more fit to lead than himself. A more immediate yet still great reason for Raphael's decision. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: In the scene before that, they were talking about how Princess Maeve, transformed into Mousa, destroyed Nolzeria. It has been stated multiple times that Gramud, Runan's father, was killed in that incident. Then in the next scene, Enteh was revealed to be Princess Maeve. No offense, but I don't think it's possible to get much more blatant than that. Spoiler my ass. I think I just keep forgetting that Enteh is part of the story. For all of Katri's annoyances, at least appearing in scenes she's not relevant in makes her more memorable, for better or worse. With Enteh, I keep wondering "Who? Oh right. The healer that isn't Lee." 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Dude! I thought the title pun would be obvious enough by the time his name was dropped! It's like last LP's title, except more subtle! C'mon, man, I was so proud of that one... I tend to remember the jokes or highlights that occur in the update, not necessarily the title. I need to make it a habit to look at that more often. I've learned that I've missed out on so many jokes in Darths and Droids from skipping to reading the comic. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: It is very inconsistent. Suffice to say, it won't be three days anymore next time we hear about this. I'll take a guess those days will turn into years. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Trust me, there's a reason I said the story handles Runan's personal love story extremely well so many updates back. I'm willing to bet you'll be positively surprised. So... he falls in love with Enteh? 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Go and give me more views in the FE6 thread.
