Focus. This was no time for a poor showing. Gripping the controls again, it was time for a proper launch.

"Zabaniyya Nacht, launching." Monika managed, not quite as composed as the first go around. Still, the cloaked assassin frame came out of the launch catapult, stealth already engaged, invisible against the backdrop of space. Even better, the team would enter the hatch as a unit, none of that messy tracking the amount of unit launched. As far as any opposition was concerned, the Nacht wouldn't even register as in play until she had taken down her first unwitting target. Melanie was beginning to engage with her audience, so hopefully she could avoid the streamer's focus for a little while, at least.

Aska sighed as he climbed into the cockpock of his newly acquired Megasim.  CometRider never responded to his message, likely busy elsewhere, but luckily Ichinyo was more than willing to swap timeslots with him.  He was a little disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to form his own crowd, but this wasn’t the time for that.  He sat in the pilot’s chair and looked around the interior.  It was definitely a new experience being in one of the Megasims, a lot more spacious for one thing, with monitors around him, tracking various things, such as game stats and cameras to show the player what was going on in the game and outside the sim.  A crowd was starting to gather, so there was no time to waste.

Aska put on the harness and loaded his data.  The ever-familiar “LOAD COMPLETE” screen appeared in front of him, as his azure, yellow-striped Thunderbird manifested on the monitor.  The mission information screen lit up on the monitor to his left; detailing the Destin Colony mission and the mission map for the engagement.  A rout mission, eh?  Probably keeping it simple to make it easier to evaluate us.  Familiar voices crackled over the comms, including the one that had helped him pick out clips and someone speaking French that he couldn’t quite catch.  This was definitely going to be interesting.

Aska looked over his final preparations before confirming his selection and turned on his commlink.  “Sorry about the wait.  Let’s give our audience a show they won’t forget!  Thunderbird, launching now.”  Regardless of the outcome, he was damn well sure he was going to make it fun to watch.  What fun was it if the audience didn't enjoy it, after all?

Zeke cracked a smile as he finally slotted in his data and the Labyr materialized, painted green for no reason other than he liked the color. As he loaded in the comms already alive with conversations from the others. He remained silent as stalled, trying to decide on an appropriate loadout, before he selected a loadout meant for short, explosive, encounters. Hopefully, no one else had that exact idea in mind. But, if they did, well the Labry could also take some hits if needed; the only problem was getting the enemy to go for him over his teammates. Well, it's only tryouts. Mission shouldn't be too tough. Deliberation over he finally entered the conversation.

"Sable at your service. 'Pologies for the late start; launching with the Labyr now." Damn, it felt good to say those words again. Hopefully, he'd get to keep saying them after tryouts were over.

The Ocelotl Napalmer retrofit synergized best rigged over his standard F-6A Excel due to its lightweight CP loadout. Charger builds were optimized for initiating engagements & disrupting enemy counteroffensives. The enhanced vernier package maximized forward mobility to the point that air resistance & friction pressed any premature or momentary shifts in direction. Nevertheless, Makala would be right at home integrating his hacking interface, armed with Growler & Scan Pulse for advanced intel on numerous targets for selective compromisation of their Frames. Individual parameters could be augmented in a snitch, whether by Cyber Warfare or unauthorized modifications allowing ease of access to debug tools & BIOS.

Preempting the HEAT Stake for ignition, feeding Mewlanie's ASync stream into an auxiliary holoscreen, shifting the yokes to align the Gun Lance's AP Rifle reticle within the range display -  being back in the deck allowed his manners to recede, stepping to the pedal for [ Code of Conduct ] to take over.

It seemed everyone was finally getting ready. Good~ All launching. Monika had gone back to serious, though... Boo, that was no fun. Was there any way that Melanie could mess with... Huh, she couldn't see her machine, but... A name marker? "Hwah! Votre machine ees eenvisible! Sacre bleu. No wonder you are always doing ze melee, no one can see you coming~" If she thought acting serious was gonna get the cat off her back, hah! Time to think twice~

And then a slightly familiar voice hit... That guy she'd spoken to at the cafe? Was he here to try out for the team? Neat! Someone else she'd managed to talk to in person. Time to check 'is profile... W... Wait, wh-what? Quoi? Pourquoi!?

[ Code of Conduct ]? Why was he here? Had he still kept watching-- of course he had, even after being banned from her stream several times for overwhelming comments, he kept donating, all while she had to put on a smile and pretend that it was fine. He hadn't tried to do anything in person, but... The thought was just, creepy! It almost threw her off her game, trying to compose herself again. Do not sink about eet, you are not alone 'ere, juste... Augh, why did ze worst person 'ave to manage to meet me 'ere? Focus! Focus. Shoot down the enemies, get praise, put on a smile, cry about it at home.

No issues so far with everyone keeping up together. And no enemies opening fire, just yet... Distance? Probably. But that was where she excelled! So long as the enemy soldaats were kept at range, she didn't need to worry. No one was getting the upper hand on her in a gunfight. Speaking of... It seemed Linus was first to engage! A hefty hit on one of them, but he just couldn't put it down... To be expected, their shields were nasty, weren't they? But it was far too damaged to waste her fire on... The one next to it wasn't~

"Mes amis, allow moi~!" Taking aim, her heavy MAC tore through it first, an easy target to hit. It tried its best to bring a shield up, but the Karasawa tore through that next, leaving just one more to put the soldaat down... Oof, and down it went, that was a wreckage. "Whoops! Ehehh... Per'aps, too much power een zat one."

Time to get things started, then. Monika wasn't quite used to Soldaats... it had been far too long since she had touched anything in the campaign, so their durability wasn't something she had a rough estimation of in her head, unlike most suits. Hit it with the big guns then, test it out at maximum. Charging towards a nearby mark, it was only as she got into melee range that Keizerin struck, her Zabaniyya Nacht appearing out of thin air, HEAT stake already set. 

The first blow immediately struck the soldaat, doing hefty damage. It was attempting to raise a weapon, but it was already too late. A second swing came through, crushing through the body of the soldaat like styrofoam, swiftly removing it from play. The Nacht immediately disappearing as swiftly as it had appeared to begin with.

"Target destroyed."

"Ah, um..." I think pink clashes too hard with everything else, but if you say so... Mewlanie did as she liked, but sometimes Karina had to wonder if she really enjoyed the stream all that much.

Well, Mewlanie did seem to enjoy streaming, she did it so much...

"Alright, ready to roll." Being catapulted into space on her machine was always satisfying, for some reason. Karina enjoyed that relatively silent part of the journey, machine pretty much on auto-pilot, and shifted it into jet mode until they had to land in the colony.

As soon as JETMAN, her machine, had landed, Karina could make out multiple Soldaats in front of them, although they weren't shooting --fine by her--. Accelerating quickly, Karina had the machine's vulcans trained on the nearest Soldaat to the group, ready to fire... only to abruptly brake as a different nametag showed in front of her. "Wait, Keize--?" Oh, that was a mean one-two stab. The Soldaat was a goner. Hot damn, that was quick! She had to hand it, Monika's machine was pretty good. "...Wow."

...And now Karina had to quickly switch targets. A concentration of players had engaged some Soldaats to her left, including Mewlanie, but the range seemed just a bit off for Karina to fire something. Right it was.

Ah, there, JETMAN's systems were already targetting one --no, two, Soldaats in the right position to eat a rain of missiles. "That works, unload!" Firing the trigger, Karina sent volley after volley at the bundled foes.

The spread missiles had done some considerable damage, and now they could be picked up by others of the group, however, two of the volleys had failed to connect altogether, hitting the ground next to the Soldaats... and some buildings. Welp. "Final accuracy... 50%?! Damn it. I was sure I locked on..." Haste did make waste sometimes.

One of the Soldaats on the frontlines had been thoroughly clobbered by Linus as part of the team's opening gambit but wasn't going down. Two shots fired from Serval Sage's beam launcher failed to even connect, and the Soldaat Trooper managed to buy himself some time by hiding behind a formidable defense plate. It wasn't until one of the other tryouts, Flake, blew away the shield with a precisely placed M.A.C. round that Hitomi was able to make a decisive move.

"Got'em!" Bronze Bullet twirled both of its beam pistols in an elaborate flourish before unleashing several blasts each that crippled the trooper. Not one to let the opportunity go to waste, Hitomi fired two more shots, one from each pistol, that set off a massive explosion where the trooper had been. She was aiming for style points that time. Being in one of the megasims made her feel ... somewhat obligated. Thankfully she wasn't the only one. Melanie--or Mewlanie at the moment--managed to bring down a trooper in three swift attacks. There was no countering at that distance, either. Keizerin also brought down an enemy in about the space of a breath before vanishing back into the Aether. She ... probably wasn't even showing off for the audience ...

Pilot chair shunted groundward, Makala felt his soul slink beneath his soles as the Ocelotl Napalmer's inaugural K.O. glinted to mundane Soldaat fire. Rifle hail strangled the hull as the Frame crumpled prostrate.
KNNNCH! A dulling pressure roused him to grope for his controls, what with being hemmed against the control panel at sore, skyward angle. Blood & snot fleck into his eyes as it dripped from the yokes.
The droning of the HP indicator blared over the monitors. If he didn't get his cajones cajoled and execute a successful Self-Recovery, he would have to forfeit the knockoff Charger. Nevertheless, dropping to a mook was a shameful display for an Odyssey rookie. And to think Mewlanie & her thousands of fans caught the whole moment? The headlines, commentary takes, the forum flames. Hopefully no one thought to look up his profile.
What the actual fuck guys? Holy crapioles I'm soooo gonna fuckin' quit this shit, "L-Lane's almost clear, gonna self-recover quick. Gank this Soldaat for cover." No wonder Odyssey got their VIP hardbodied IRL with S tier map awareness! The S is for Shit! SHIIIIIIIT! Sick Smokin' Stylin' triple decker SSS sammich wombo combo meal with tendies!

Dr. Flambre had taken out one of the Soldaats before the other one opened fire on him. Hitomi hadn't seen that much concentrated hate spewing from a lone Soldaat in a good while, and it was a wonder Flambre's Excel held up as long as it did. Thankfully, after he went down, the Soldaat took a breather. One more attack would have destroyed him, which meant no self-recoveries. As expected, the Soldaats weren't providing much in the way of resistance. A few well placed swings had been enough to do them all in so far, and they had yet to get in a proper lock on her position. Things apparently weren't all sunshine and rainbows, however. While their top flank was doing expectedly well, considering how much manpower had been devoted to it, the middle wasn't doing so hot, with one Dr. Flambre having his machine disabled, barely getting through a risky date with self-recovery. Which one was Dr. Flambre again? The Excel... well, hopefully they could clean up Southside relatively quickly and swing back up, if the North couldn't handle it. Speaking of the South... one of the leaders had finally shown himself... just in time for the Nacht's ammunition supplies to be filled by an allied supply drop.

Well that was just unfair. Coming out of stealth directly in the Lead unit's face, three quick jabs with the HEAT Stake made quick work of the unit, crumpling to the street with it's torso well and cratered inwards. It was a leader, so just to be safe... bringing her beam axe down through the centre of the disabled machine, it quickly lit up and exploded. By the time the smoke had cleared, Keizerin was already cloaked and out of sight.

Dodging in the air always felt so good. There was room for Karina's mech to maneuver as fast as she wanted, and the sniper fire had plenty of room for foresight --one split second too many--, the beams of light didn't even graze JETMAN's barrier.

With notice of supplies to drop, Karina flew over to the designated area quickly, making a long curve not to cross any mech on her team by accident. It also gave her a vantage poijt to the soldaat leader machine standing close by, on the ground. Good, Karina would --NOT finish it off, apparently. "Grr! Keizerin, come on! We're always after the same target!" Monika always got the jump on targets Karina was planning to take out! Gah! That was mildly frustrating...

"Fine then! I'll blow up this nerd!" That soldaat trailing behind its leader unit was going to regret coming closer. Karina first sent a spread missile to rain down some explosions in the area, completely trashing the downed suit of a previous soldaat that remained in the explosion radius. "Go down!!" Readying the Karasawa-type beam rifle, Karina's Valkyrie-type machine rained an uncharacteristically heavy beam of plasma at the soldaat... scoring a devastating hit against its torso. It would've barely survived in other scenarios, but now it was decidely totalled. "Ha. Haha! Yeah!" Karina couldn't help a smile --she'd done just as good as Keizerin! Taking someone out on her own! Now for the finishing touch...

JETMAN's vulcans rained down on the suit, Completely disabled. The suit remained in the air, Karina positively pleased at her performance. "I'm the best, haha!"

"Ah, très bien, Keizerin, Miko." Melanie was rather enjoying herself at this point, these Soldaats were going down in two shots at most. Even if the one she'd just turned into a wreck had managed to pepper her machine with return fire, it was kinetic, which meant it was basically nothing to her. The stream chat was cursing the AI for daring to hurt their idol, but Melanie shrugged it off with a smile.

"Where are ze bosses? We seem to be doing moderately fine, non? I would not mind a bit of a challenge."

Felling a lone Soldaat grunt, Helena felt a giddy feeling near her lower abdomen as the adrenaline pumped throughout her system. It had been a good purchase, the visual mod of extra explosions installed on her account where things had additional rainbow eruption when downed.

Hearing the ping for ammunition drops, the dusky teen activated the boosters on the Crimson Meteor and swung over to greedily take her share of ammunition. The Meteor burned itself quickly and steady logistics was its lifeblood for additional blood letting. "Swinging over to flank the enemy!"

Pulling up, Helena noticed another lone Soldaat Soldier sneaking through some buildings to the group. Conventional tactics would call eliminating the target, but the girl had other grander plans. Marking the three clustered Soldaats boxed together in a stalemate on her group's frontline, she brought the Crimson Meteor to a low altitude...then unleashed a barrage of large missiles and plasma missiles at the helpless troops.

 

As their systems get disabled one after another, Helena cackles on her comms while she popped a smokescreen around her, catching blocking visuals for the lone Soldaat Soldier some paces away. "You're trapped in the darkness with me buddy," she taunts the AI controlled grunt, then switches on the teamspeak while pinging her position to the team, "Enemies moving through the buildings, some close combatants to flush them out would be nice!"
