That is definitely not supposed to happen. Just checked the data and it's totally my fault. I put Ursula in a charachter slot I shouldn't. Will be fixing that shortly.

maybe as a final update you can change the story and add some music? :), also you can add something to make it more challenging like when you open a chest you find an item and enemies surround you and sometimes chests can be empty and then an enemy appears with an item?

Yeah, having Moulder swinging axes around would be super awesome. I don't know who could be a Dragoon, but once I saw their crit animation I knew I wanted one on my team.

i guess the dragoon class would be for amelia from soldier promotion route. at first i thought when seeing war monk or dragoon enemy, i can make my unit promote to said class, but not happening and i was disappointed. And then i saw there going to be 3rd promotion update in the future. so i'll replay this hack on ephraim route once the 3rd promotion finished, since i already finished eirika route, and i enjoy it very much. i rate 9/10, 1 less point is for the 3rd promotion and i can't wait

for Ursula part, lol i thought she was the mini boss of that chapter, but apparently she isn't supposed to be there

One bug I found is that when I use a runesword on monsters with liquid ooze, I lose HP during the animation but after I would be at full health instead of being damaged. Don't know if this applies with nosferatu yet but it might affect nosferatu as well.

P.S: I love joshua's swordmaster critical animation!

I recently learned that the game gives varying stat changes to enemy units based on chapter and difficulty. In the early chapters, the hard mode bonuses are pretty low, usually like +2 to every stat, but as the game progresses, these bonuses start growing and ultimately reach +4 in the final chapters. Given how I increased bases and growths focusing on normal mode, hard mode got kinda brolen in the process. For the next version, I'll set the hard mode bonuses to only +2 instead, so that enemies in the final chapters won't be excessively strong.

I'll change some songs for the next version, but I don't intend to change the story. This project is supposed to be a reskin and a rebalance only.

I don't know whether it is possible to make an empty chest, but enemies showing up can probably be set as an event. Thanks for the suggestion.

yeah I think you should focus on the lagdou ruin 1st before everything else

Big GG for the work !

I've got some ideas for a Hard / Lunatic Mode Idea and the future patch 

Mechanic Idea : 

- In the part 1 of the game all the enemy has Golden Weapons and Killing Weapons (Killer Lance, Axe etc...) 

  In the part 2 of the game all the enemy has Great Weapons and Killing Weapons.

- In the part 1 of the game all the enemy has rank A for weapon mastery.

  In the part 2 of the game all the enemy has rank S for weapon mastery.

- Better stats and more skills for enemies 

- More commanders like 3 to 5 per level but who have stats that rival our heroes with special skills. In the first dungeon it would be nice to have some too.

- A right arm for each boss would be cool, like Lyon in the end of the game, each right arm summons 1 to 4 units (random unit) until he is killed.
Right arm stats are close to level bosses. They will be a little weaker but close and unlike the boss of the level, they will move when all the enemies have been almost killed.

- In this mode, the pegasus knights, Wyvern Knight and the new units you added appear a lot more.

- Enemies appear in waves for each level until the boss is defeated. (Like the final level with Lyon as boss except that it is unlimited)-

- The more the difficulty increases in the game the more the quantity and the number of enemy groups appear like a war.

The Grado commanders use unique weapons and ability such as:

Selena : 

- Selena who uses unique unlimited magic at long distance and in melee. (According to the sayings of the emperor and his fame)
Ability: 

             Eagle Eye : Never miss a target

             Magic Neutralizer : All magic attacks -5 , if against a magic user +15 Avoid

             Last breath : When her HP is low, Mag + 5, Hit +50 and Critical hit + 10%

              

Caellach :

- Caellach uses a special ax "Tiger axis" which ignores the rank of the weapon and is both deadly for critical hits. For this weapon I would say + 10% for critical hits and a precision similar to a powerful weapon like gold or great weapon.
Ability: Tiger Eye: +50 Hit +20 Avoid

              Master of displays : Unaffected by enemy skills

               Rabid Tiger : The lower the HP, the more the stats increases, for a maximum of +3.

Valter :

- Valter who thirsts for blood, has a powerful magic axe that ignores defense and steals at the same time the life of his opponent.
Ability: Great Opportunist : If a player is below the stat of Valter -10 for Spd, Skil or Atk, Valter attack again

               Bloody madness : The lower the HP of his opponent, the higher the chance of a critical hit.
                                              For a maximum of + 30%

                Instinct When attacked and after attacking, according to "Skills" has a chance to dodge an attack that will hit him.

Riev : 

- Riev can use any type of magic like Athos in FE7.
The magic he uses should be as legendary magic but a little less powerful than the one the player will have.
All types of magic has S Rank :
For his ultimate and unique magic, I will see magic with the properties of light and darkness, which ignores the player's defense and resistance and inflicts mortal damage with a bonus for critical hits like + 10% for the tome.
Ability: Grace of the Demon King: All Stats + 10
              Elemental Master: All magic attacks -10. 

               Sage Master : Unaffected by the magic triangle

Each general gives his weapon, except the general who use magics (Selena and Riev). 

- Each Grado general summons enemies near him,each turn until they die.

- Zombies have twice the HP.

- Green zombies summon waves of zombies around him.

Other Suggestions for the futur Patch : 

- Unique skill for new classes, ninjas and assassins, are the same for skills (maybe it has been changed since the new one), Dread fighter etc ...

- A forge to repair the weapons we use, for good balance, the more the weapon is broken 10/40 the more expensive it is to repair it. If the player is not careful he will have to pay double the price of the weapon he bought. The higher the quality, the more expensive it is to repair. For example it is inexpensive to repair a low quality weapon while it is very expensive to repair a legendary weapon like between 20,000 and 30,000 £

Riev new sprite :(Just remove the long white hair and beard, and make a red staff instead of a blue one)

- The game is really good in balance  but the pegasus knights, Wyvern Knight and the new units you added need to appear more in quantity and in the begining of the game.

- Caellach use Viktor Legendary sprite instead of Viktor normal sprite.

- Why not for the last level for the Labon Ruins a level  where we compete against ourselves. (The units that you choose face themselves.) and a level where we face all the bosses we have eliminated since the start of the game, resuscitated by the magic of Lyon with stats in the 30 Atk, Skil, Spd, etc ...

- Lyon New Skill "Necromancer" : Summon each turn boss you kill (random boss from the game with high stat between 20 and 25 in the middle end game and 28 and 30 for all stats in the end)

- Remake the last level part 1 and part 2

- Part 1 of the last level,Lyon summon his father and Ephraim and Erika father knowing that he is a necrommancer (invoke the dead)

- Part 2 of the last level, with the Demon King,  Lyon Body is teleport, the demon king use it again, but he is now completly empty. Lyon appear near the Demon King who summons monster, Lyon Stat is similar to his stat in Lagon Ruin and use the same tome.

Part 2 Demon King and Lyon (Empty) theme :

 

Ephraim Dialogue :

Lyon : ...

Ephraim : ...

Ephraim (smile) : Lyon my friend, you were more strong than me in all, sorry if i couldn't save you, rest in peace...

Eirika Dialogue 

Lyon : ...

Eirika : ...

Eirika (smile) : Lyon i love you too, one day we will see each other again...

- Riev has no unique dialogue  despite his resentment and relationships, he has a big reputation in FE8, it would be nice if he had a unique dialogue with Larachel like:

Larachel: But you are!
Riev: Hehehheheheh
Larachel: So it was you who killed my subjects who escorted you ... I thought you had been eliminated with them ... You were the best element of our kingdom, my goal and our pride but why ...
Riev: The king rejected me and I found a new king.
Larachel: For more power you fell into the abyss.
Riev: People are just common pawns who can be sacrificed for me they died at least by being useful to me, most of them I think heheheheheheh. You are a good example Larachel,when I will kill you  and take your stone,the demon king will give me more power. You, who admire me, have a good chance of being useful to me.Don't you feel joy ?
Larachel (smile): Yes, of course, of course not poor fool ! I understand why my father banished you. But you're not mad, you know exaclty you actions, you are a poor human who sacrifice people who admired you for your wish. I'll be your judge before you go to rot in hell.

Riev : Poor human.... Dirty kid ! You are just like your dirty father and those dirty values.I wanted to be nice, died in pain.

- Knowing that the king of demons speak he could have a unique dialogue for Ephraim, Rebecca, Larachel etc ... Basic dialogue: I will crush you like the miserable insects that you are.

Dialogue for Erika and Ephraim for Demons King if you give me the stone I will bring you back to Lyon.

Ephraim :

Demon King : Your friend believed that he could save lives with my power, he was so weak, pathetic, miserable, but I did well to fall on him, especially a prince, I loved seeing the expression of your father die and these last words: Ephraim, Eirika sorry ..

Ephraim: Thing, despite all the atrocities that you have done, I do not feel hatred of despair but a respect for all the people who have fought against a vermin like you.

I'm not going to fall into your trap, I'm not the same anymore. I will not make the same mistake as Lyon and I will make sure to save the good people whom you will try to corrupt in the futur. 
 

Demon King : HAHAHAHAHHAHA So you think you can defeat me ? You are not an idiot, I think i like you , I will kill you last. 

Eirika: It will be the last time you appear in this world, I will make you languish in this darkness.

Demon King : HAHAHAHAHAH humans have big word it's funny.  Come, little insect. I will break your resolve by killing everyone you care about.

The end in dialogue was really incomplete, because the game was build really fast, for example FE7 is more better than FE8 because of the difficulty and the story in the end. The difficulty is here and it's really great in your patch, but now if you manage to make more dialogue, it will be perfect, even if nothing is perfect, it will be literally an awesome hack that the dev of FE8 needs to watch before the remake of this game.

Else for my recent post I make a mistake about riev dialogue i wanted to say changed the dialogue and add new one for te end.

Else here a change because the old one was too OP.

Riev : 

- Riev can use any type of magic like Athos in FE7.

Riev has now 100 HP
He will use 3 magic with different elements, Fire, Light and darkness. 
For his ultimate and unique magic, I will see magic with the properties of light and darkness, like the one yo add but which ignores the player's defense and resistance and inflicts mortal damage with a bonus for critical hits like + 10% for the tome.
Ability: Grace of the Demon King: All Stats + 5
              Monster Summoner: Can summon every turn monster. (4 monsters at least)

              Arch Sage : Unaffected by the magic triangle

              Blood Beryl : According to Skill has a chance to stop a player's attack.

I have to say, I'm extremely impressed with the quality of this hack. I just finished Chapter 16 and having a blast so far, all the rebalancing done has made for a fresh and exiting experience while also adding some much needed challenge to FE8. There are a few small things I want to bring up though, a guess I'll start with the most important of my feedback, the difficulty. I am only on chapter 16 and playing Eirika route with random growths, so take this with a grain of salt, but I don't see the necessity in lowering the late game hard bonuses from +4 to +2. Nothing in the game so far has had stupid levels of stat inflation. The most noticeable for me was chapter 15,  It was definitely a difficult spike, but nothing there was unmanageable. Narratively I think it fit very well, and gameplay wise it was very fun and rewarding to play. Unless the next 4 chapters are hellish, I would say don't alter the enemy stats. Vanilla Sacred Stones is a cake walk even on Hard, so I welcome a little more difficulty.

 

The other things I want to bring up are all animation based. For starters the enemy Griffin Riders in chapter 15 (and I assume in general) will always display their hit animation and sound effect even if they miss. Not really a big deal but though I'd bring it up none the less.

The next thing is more of a question really, but would it be possible to have Ephraim use Seigmund in his Master Lord animation? Last thing is just my personal preference, but can you change Eirika and Ephraim's great Lord Pallets back to vanilla? Ephraim new one is ehh for me, but Eirika's pallet just looks really off. Both of their alternate promotions look really good, but the Great Lord repallets seem unnecessary. I think this may be one of the few cases in this hack where I think the philosophy of if it ain't broke don't fix it applies. 

 

Other than my small nitpicks, I really want to stress how good this hack is. Just playing through and discovering all the small adjustments to classes, weapons, enemy layouts, skills, and animations has been so cool to both play and experience. Seeing Joshua promote into a fully custom animated sword master, and Tana gaining staffs once promoting to Falcon Knight is just so fun to see. All the custom animations and sprite work added in really helps distinguish this from Vanilla. The small little changes is what really makes this hack for me, lots of things that didn't need to be changed, but were changed anyway. Not to mention that the gameplay experience is really solid, to the point where it feels official in it's polish and map design. The effort put in doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated, and I can't stress that enough. Sacred Trilogy has replaced Sacred Stones for me, whenever I want to play FE8 I will definitely be playing this hack!

Totally agree don't touch the difficulty, it's not really hard even in hard especially the end you can just win if you are really careful. It's just the last dungeon and the difficulty is really good.

Else i didn't know he add troup sprite for Ephraim O-o, sorry Blood... I promise to play your new sprite.

That is a scripting error of the animation. I know how to fix it, but it will have to wait unitl after the Ruins are completed. I noticed the same problem with Valter's Malig Knight and Amelia's soldier class.

There is actually one for Ephraim wielding Siegmund, but I didn't include it for two reasons:
1) I wasn't sure if there would be enough animation slots available. Now that the hack is almost finished I can see that there are. I think I'll include it for the next update.
2) Eirika doesn't have an exclusive animation for Sieglinde, so I didn't want to do it for Ephraim and leaver her without one. There is another hacker by the name of Marlon who is currently working on an alternative Eirkia promotion and animation, so that may be a solution. Animations are very hard to make and take a lot of time, skill and patience. For now, we just wait.

I also dislike the new palettes, but they were necessary because the author of those animations used that palette scheme for the staff animations, and the palettes must be the same for the battle animations. However, I think tha author has recently released a repalette more in line with the original ones, so I'll take a look and maybe change this.

I just finished Chapter 16 and having a blast so far, all the rebalancing done has made for a fresh and exiting experience while also adding some much needed challenge to FE8. There are a few small things I want to bring up though, a guess I'll start with the most important of my feedback, the difficulty. I am only on chapter 16 and playing Eirika route with random growths, so take this with a grain of salt, but I don't see the necessity in lowering the late game hard bonuses from +4 to +2. Nothing in the game so far has had stupid levels of stat inflation. The most noticeable for me was chapter 15,  It was definitely a difficult spike, but nothing there was unmanageable. Narratively I think it fit very well, and gameplay wise it was very fun and rewarding to play. Unless the next 4 chapters are hellish, I would say don't alter the enemy stats. Vanilla Sacred Stones is a cake walk even on Hard, so I welcome a little more difficulty.

I agree, I think the difficulty is great, for the tower you just have to save money and buy items for improvements, it doesn't make this game easy The attractive is the difficulty, just separate the normal from the easy, please don't move the growth, I only found the king unbalanced  demon of the old updates that seemed impossible there is nothing in this current that leaves you unbalanced.

Ok, I'll leave hard mode bonuses as +4 then.

Regarding the next update, there's just one more floor remaining. Idunn has given me more trouble than I expected and I still don't think she looks 100% good. Intelligent Systems used some background shenanigans in FE6 to circumvent the limitations of battle animations and that is really hard to replicate. Floor 7 is also taking a long time because I'm doing something different for it. I expect to have the next version ready by this weekend.

Cool, i'm so impatient, I don't know if you see my ideas (Lunatic Mode) and especially for Riev i will make a better sprite if you are interested.

Come back after chapter 19 and let us know what you think. I wanna know if I'm just bad or if there really is another spike like in chapter 15.
