May's Mythic Hero Appears - Naga: Dragon Divinity (May 30 ~)

Pretty underwhelming skillset (dat artcreep tho). Dragon effectiveness is very niche beyond helping you slay Dumas in AR. Her weapon might give her monster stats but her kit makes me think she will be an offensive unit, not a super tank so positioning your units to buff her might not be convenient. Being a flier makes her vulnerable to Alm and Lucina as well (both bow and sword forms, lol) It feels like Duma and Naga should be switched. Dragon effectiveness is useful against enemy dragon super tanks for AR defense and Duma's ability to destroy structures would be more powerful on offense (probably too powerful but I digress).

I do want her for the extra lift bonus but I don't have a big need for the Bold Fighter (Hector and Tiki). Wish she would have been red so I could get her on my quest for Hrid and A/S Solo.

Not really feeling the art, or the unit. Being a Mythic hero is one thing, but needing to find another premium A-skill on top is quite another. Being a flier is good, but she's not required in either my Dragon team, where Nowi has the blue slot locked down (and Ninian as the second if a dancer is needed), nor in my flier team where FGrima is the more versatile pick in terms of unit composition. If I ever get her, it will be as a pitybreaker only.

This is good for me in that I had promised myself to start saving last month, only to end up burning most of my orbs on a failed attempt at Alm, then having the two Hero Fest banners soak up the rest. I'm back to 100 orbs plus ~50 in the inbox, but I'm confident in maintaining discipline this time given that the overall lineup here really doesn't work for me at all.

Red - Don't have any of these units, but don't really want any of them either. Content with Xander over Hrid, Palla+10 over Gunnthra, and while Eirika is probably the most interesting unit here for me, I think the non-DC red horse slot in the long term is reserved for an Ares merge anyway.

Blue - Ambivalent on Naga, no real interest in armoured Tiki, and am content with Brave Hector +1.

Green - Got my Lyn from the anniversary freebie (which was no occasion for celebration), Fjorm is nowhere near as appealing as Towel Hinoka who will be appearing soon, and Lugh is just a boring infantry mage when I've got his mum at +10. No interest whatsoever in any of these units.

Grey - Duma being an AR specialist is of no interest at all, and Laevatein is no Veronica who I have at +1. Velouria is okay but I got a Leanne from last month's banner so I prefer a red beast instead (ideally Tibarn but I'd take a Keaton)

 

Overall, Daylight >>> Red = Blue = Grey >>> Green. I think I'll open all non-green orbs on the first circle and leave it at that. July's banner remains the one to gun for.

The Divine Dragon of all dragons is a blue unit like her daughter.....sure why not? Kinda weird that M!Grima can counter her but I guess being effective against dragons would cancel that.

 

Also the 1st video I didn't dislike this year.

She has voice clip like any other cast of Awakening. She also a voice clip when she reminds you on how you want to finish Grima off.

First we got Naga, then we'll get Kurth. Then we should get Kurthnaga! 

Easy skip as maintaining tiers can be done without mythic heroes and I can just wait for light season to attempt to get to tier 21.

Naga seems surprisingly underwhelming, honestly. She doesn't look bad, just...underwhelming. Her C skill looks good, but that's about it. But, at the same time, I'll probably pull on blue orbs, and/or colorless ones. I have every unit in the green pool, heck Legendary Lyn is even merged up to the max +10! The only unit in the red pool I'm missing is New Year Gunnthra, and I'm honestly not too worried about her. I don't have ANYONE from the colorless pool, though, and I only have Hector from the blue one.

Isn't that kind of the point of Divine Breath and Divine Fang having those effects in the first place?

Half the reason I'm confused is because, yes it makes sense for it to be the case, but I'm not exactly sure if it'd be reading for the effect from a units Weapon skill or just in general. I mean, the effect has so far only been seen as a weapon skill, not an effect like Triangle Adept has become.

It also almost feels too good to be true... but that seems a poor excuse when Legendaries and Mythics are all about overwhelming power.

Her stateline is out. 

 

First she looks awesome and I love her art. 

Her weapon and c slot are crazy and I will give her rally Atk Def +, Dc vantage and Iotes shield or heavy blade (If I get her). 

I like all her stats, as with her weapon if she gets the full +9 she has 58 Atk 45 spd 42 Def and 35 res. But isn't her Hp a bit low?

The game makes no distinction between weapon effects and skill effects. Weapons are just another type of skill.

I guess the latest banners really force me to play aether raids!? 

Unrelated to that the banner became less interesting than I expected mainly because the unit's choice in blue and green.

As nice as Naga might look, I do not need her at all.

Since Lugh made it in instead of Kaden unfortunately, I have no desire to try going for NYFjorm merges. 

Red is the only colour with value because I do not have the cavaliers who have great fodder, and NYGunnthra is great. 

As usual one circle will do it.

Well don't really care for Naga, her art doesn't do anything for me and she's in the worst color with both the two others units only having Bold Fighter to give really, since I already have both of them too. Will still pull blue, purely cause having an Astra unit is really handy in AR.

Meanwhile....eh did IS forget they didn't demote Kaden? Why do both Sue and Lugh get to go first despite coming after his banner? Really sad about this, cause being together with L!Lyn would've been perfect since I still need a better Lyn to fix my -atk one. Couldn't care less for Lugh : / And now Kaden is probably next month with Gunnthra which is literally the worst case scenario sigh.

I'm just gonna do 2-3 full pulls and run, I'll take whatever I can get, all colors got something I want:

Red: L!Eirika (Atk/Spd Solo), Hrid (DC), NY!Gunnthra (...I really don't need a fourth but she got good SI so ok)
Green: L!Lyn (need to fix my -atk), NY!Fjorm (Atk/Spd Bond)
Blue: Naga
Colorless: Velouria (to fix my -atk one)

Anyways, Naga's in. She's a Blue Flying Dragon with Divine Breath (+3 Atk, dragon effectiveness, increases stats by +3 for dragon/dragon effective allies near her (with a max of +9), adaptive damage), Luna, AR-O Atk/Spd 3 (The AR skills on offence, fitting for her.), Chill Spd and Divine Fang (EVERYBODY GETS FALCHION!). Not as busted as expected, but when she has 3 dragon effective allies nearby she gets intense.

As for the other colours, Red's got LunEirika, Hrid and NY!Gunnthra, all of which I have. Blue has L!Y!Tiki and Hector, so it's a legendary and mythic I don't have on the same colour. Also Bector. Green has L!Lyn, NY!Fjorm and Lugh, while I don't have Lugh I'm not that interested in getting merges for the others. Colourless has Duma, NY!Laevateinn and Velouria, where I also don't care about any of these enough to merge/get. So this time it's Blue >>>>>>>>>> Colourless > Green >>>> Red.

Naga blessed me with a kid in a poncho and two green ponytails. I now have three green ponytails. Five if you count the ones riding a horse. Never summoned her armored dress self or her regular self on this account.

I got Naga after about 100 orbs, now I just need to figure out what to do with her A slot.

200 orbs down and I've gotten three of Naga and one Hector. A pleasant surprise after how terrified I was of getting Hector over and over with him being the one unit on this banner I absolutely do not want more of. One Naga has an HP boon, one a speed boon, and one an attack boon. My plan is to keep a main one for merges and a backup one for maximum scoring. Think the speed boon is the best for the main one and the attack boon is best as the secondary?

Then comes the debate on the best heroes to give the blessings to. The first one that comes to mind is Myrrh since the extra defense could work well with her weapon. For the longest time Myrrh has been one of my top scoring arena units, often paired with legendary Robin, but now it might be time to make Naga her new partner. Magic tends to be the bigger pain in Aether Raids, so not as many heroes come to mind for the astra blessings as for the light blessings...

...it uses 3 +10 units, two of whom are overpowered mages, and one +8 Legendary Azura with Hone Atk 4, but I still figured it out on the first try!

Pulled Tiki and then Naga. Naga is [+Spd, -Def], which is nice and fits perfectly into my plans for Wings of Mercy spam. Pity she can't use Galeforce.

Now to hold off on pulling and recharge my luck until my paycheck arrives on Saturday.

Got Fjorm on my second session, so I didn't actually end up doing many full pulls. Then got Velouria, Hrid, and Naga, with a total of 185 orbs.

Really happy with these results. I would have preferred Eirika over Hrid, but that's the color where I cared least about which of the two new units I'd get anyway, and I didn't end up getting any of the four duplicates. Most of the natures aren't that great but I don't really care. (-Spd/+Res for Fjorm and Velouria and -Def/+HP for Hrid, while Naga has a much more preferable -HP/+Spd.) Would also have been nice to pick up Mordecai and/or Thea but that's trivial, they're free in the long run anyway.

My luck has bedn weird. I got 2 5*. A legendary Lyn that is - Atk +Def that I made into a manual as I don't want her at all. Next an Eirika that is -Atk +res which was my top pick for red and though the natures aren't the best still I was aiming for her and I got her. I am done for today as I spent all the Mhb and Lhb orbs and daily ones from log in and TT and some story ones. Hopefully, the coming days I manage to pull Naga as I really like her.
