When dining with other people, what does the orange arrow next to them mean?

They are getting a bonus based off the the weekly specials. Like for example, on the week where Sweet Tooth is activated, any characters who like sweet food get a bonus increase to their support points as well as the their motivation increase. The dishes that fall under the category of being sweet are also highlight when selecting the meal (before you hit A and then you start selecting people)

When you first talk to the lunch lady and select Full Menu you'll see the first few dishes at the top with an arrow (Peach Sorbet for example). Those are the dishes that are enhanced. Then after you select a dish, the characters who also like sweets will have both a blue up arrow and an orange one (Like Lysithea or Annette). The blue arrow indicates who like the dish you selected while the orange indicates who is getting a bonus in addition to that.

There are weekly bonuses for a few things. Sweets, Spicy, fish, meat, and harvest (which is vegetables) and probably more. I can't remember them all.

I forgot to mention, you can find a red arrow with orange combo. For example on the week where they are serving food that Alliance, Kingdom, or Empire students are enhanced, you could select a dish a person dislikes but they still get the orange arrow because for that week they still fall under the category of getting a bonus. For example, Felix dislikes sweets. But on the week where kingdom students get a bonus, you could feed him Peach Sorbet and he still gets the orange arrow

Two quick questions:

1. Just bought the DLC. When the new stuff comes out at the end of the month do I automatically get the news stuff or have to buy again?

2. Starting my third time through. I hear the church run is a lot like GD. Should I do the Empire version first to make it different?

1. I can't quite answer that.

2. If your last run was Verdant Wind, by all means do so.

1) You say the word "stuff" but what are you were referring to?

2) for the Church, Lion, and Deer routes, they'll all share the following chapters/battles

Ch13 defeat the bandits after timeskip

Ch14 fight off Randolph's assault

Ch15 battle at Valley of Torment

Ch16 battle at bridge Myriddan

After this some routes somewhat differ. For Lions and Deers you get Ch17 Battle at Gronder.

The following battles (but at different points in time) will still take place on these 3 routes; battle at fort merceus, battle at empire capital, battle at the empire palace. That's 3 chapters that don't go away.

Since the church is only 21 chapters (as opposed to Lions and Deers 22 chapters) that really is the bulk of most of the game. Church has one less battle but shares the battle at the underground base of TWSITD and has a unique final battle. The golden deer has only one additional battle of Gronder compared to church plus it's final battle is unique. So those two basically the same. The Lions has just slightly more diversity. It matches with Deers all the way up to Chapter 17 Battle at Gronder. But chapter 18 and 19 are new with you taking back the Kingdom palace and then saving Claude. But then it goes back to it's final 3 chapters being the exact same as the church/deer battles where you take Fort Merceus, then the city, then the palace being the finale.

So long story short, Church is one less battle than both and has a unique end. Deer is church but with Gronder battle plus it's own unique final. Lions is like the Deer route except it's unique battles are at ch18 & 19 (so no unique final battle or fighting TWSITD).

When you look at it from a mathematical point of view, they all share 19 out of the 21/22 battles. At most they only differ by 2 battles.

Deer and Lions have 20/22 battles being the same. Had the church included the battle at Gronder it would have 21 out 22 chapters the same as Deer only having a unique final.

I thought I read somewhere there another DLC drop set for April 20. Just wondering if you bought DLC is that included.

I don't remember seeing anything about that.

@jameslove001

Would you mind linking to the article in question? Some us don't read up on Three Houses news and so don't necessarily know what you're referring to.

Also, if there is more paid DLC and you bought the Expansion Pass, chances are you'll have access to whatever it is.

I looked at the article again. They didn’t do a good job explaining they meant April 2020, not 20 as a date.

The part that was due "by April 30, 2020" was DLC wave 4 Cindered Shadows, already released 2 months ago. DLC waves 2-4 were released before the expected time of release (set before the game was released), that you can check here. There is no direct confirmation of more DLC, and only a few datamined placeholders and hints that some details may be explained later, but that could be in another drama CD, another interview, another medium (maybe a Heroes event like Forging Bonds), or not at all.

Do characters receive a set number of free level ups between the timeskip and Chapter 13?

I’m planning a Maddening NG BL run and was thinking about benching Ashe and Annette but wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get through Chapter 13 with them alive if their levels weren’t in the 20s.

Okay, so sorry it took me a while, but since I had put my play thru on hold I wasn't able to give an accurate response. Now I can most definitively answer you.

Whoever isn't at level 20 will automatically go straight to 20 and stop there. I took screen shots on my switch and was on the chapter before and then compared to them to after and saw the jump for all of them. (keep in mind most these people I had mainly just for their paralogues and support chains)

Constance was at 14, Mercedes was at 15, Hanneman was at 17, Manuela was at 15, Yuri was at 11, Balthus was at 11, and Hapi was at 11. But after time skip every single one of them got put at level 20. They were still in their intermediate classes too (so no they don't get promoted to adv classes). On the other hand, my students from Black Eagles were all at level 30 (with 2 of them at 31) and then post time skip) plus a few others I like to play with

Lysithea gained 3, Petra gained 2/3, Dorothea gained 2, Bernadette gained 0, Caspar gained 3, Linhardt gained 1, and Ferdinand gained 3. (Im guessing for Petra since I can't remember if she'd leveled up right before the battle ended).

Those 9 level up gains were most definitely shocking.  But now I wonder if I had recruited a person before they got put in their Int class while still in the Beginner classes, if they would have been left behind in those had I not bought them manually myself. Cause then all those levels would have been with low growth rates

If you use a magic weapon with a combat art, does it go based off magic or strength?

Like say for example I had a Levin Sword and used Wrath Strike. Or if I used Bolt Axe with Smash or Wild Abandon? Will the formula go based off my magic (with fiendish blow, magic battalion, etc) and target an enemies res?

Or do combat arts go based off str even with magic weapons?

On the site I mean

if there is, it doesn’t let me open it

The SF wiki supports page is under construction, but both FE fandom and org wikis have /Supports pages for most characters (probably missing some of the DLC ones). Here is the FE fandom wiki page to access them. This has the different endings.

Hi, I need some lore help here

Does anyone remember on what occasion Jeralt's full name "Jeralt Reus Eisner" was mentioned?

I know it's in the game but can't remember which chapter or by whom.

It isn't, Jeralt's full name exists in the data but is never mentioned in-game as far as I know. Some other characters, like Lonato, Miklan, and Lambert, also have full names that are never mentioned.

Sometimes, when I attack a monster, I inflict super-effective damage (as indicated by a green checkmark), even when using a "normal" weapon (like a steel lance) using no combat arts. Why does that happen?

Some monsters are weak to swords, lances or axes so I would say it's that. Hapi does effective damage to all monsters as well.

Yeah you can buy/replenish battalion and forge/repair weapons (same as in any battle menu), but you won't have access to the specialised merchants. So if necessary stock up on smithing materials in Ch.17

EDIT: To be clear, Ch.18 functions like any other battle, you just don't get any monastery time in between 17 and 18
