Spoiler In the Black Eagles Imperial Path, she relies on his support and is deeply thankful for it. She's aware that nothing would be going as well as it is if not for him, and generally treats him like a valued confidant at bare minimum, and the most important person in her life if he goes for the S-support. In the Black Eagles Church Path, she's a bit more obsessive. Byleth has rejected her at every major juncture, and it clearly grates on her. She continually offers him chances to swap sides, and once he rejects her completely post timeskip, she treats him as an absolute enemy. When the time finally comes, she accepts her death at Byleth's hand with good grace. In the Blue Lions path, she's more focused on killing Dimitri than recruiting Byleth, but still expresses that she has no desire to fight him in the final boss fight. In the Golden Deer path, she laments that Byleth didn't side with her, but doesn't have enough time to really build up any kind of relationship with him. Overall, she clearly wants Byleth to be on her side, and respects both his skills and judgement. She seems to feel a personal attachment to him, partly due to similar personalities, and after seeing him in action, clearly desires his approval and validation for her actions. But in the end, her own plans and desires take priority. She wants Byleth's approval and help, but if she doesn't get it, she advances down her path anyway. So no, she's nothing like Tharja. Spoiler Can you actually switch sides if she asks you after you first sided with the church? or is it more like she asks you but byleth says no without the player having a say in it?
