eclipse
And done. Not too many pictures on Chapter 20, since there's very little that happens besides "wait out some stupid gimmick or other." FE6 story.sav
Benice
Done chapter 20x after about 9,000 resets...But it wasn't without a death. It will take a VERY long time to write about because there are almost 1000 screenshots... I'll try not to miss the deadline. I'll try to start Ch. 21 tomorrow. Yeah, dealing with a split army, those ludicrous staff ranges, and the movement advantages of nomad troopers around rivers, not even mentioning the Revelations level gimmick of the map...its a dangerous chapter. Also just a warning you are going to need to split things into a lot of parts to get a post to actually upload with even close to that many images. Good luck on 21. Something similar can let you get started now, and have the writing saved for when you want to post it.
Benice
Well, I guess I'll give an update on my progress: I beat Ch. 20x, but I'm not so sure I can handle 21. My list of fatalities from it before Roy died because I was super dumb: The saint's staff because I used it by accident instead of "wait" Elphin (Me being bad) Zeiss (ambush spawns while he got the boots, and it was questionable why I sent him there in the first place.) Fir (to godawful luck, but it was a bad strategy. She had Durandal at the time.) Dayan Lilina Perceval Roy (I accidentally put him into Murdock's range while he was running away from the armor knight.) Perceval, Dayan and Lilina hadn't actually died, but I was trapped in the throne room with about 9,000, 000 wyvern riders at the door, and they would have surely died. Shin probably would have eventually also. I'll give it another shot, but I may need someone else to finish it for me since I doubt my ability to complete this. I apologize for the bare bones army that the next player will have... EDIT: By god, I did it! I am sooooooo lucky that as many people survived as they did...Saul probably shoulda died 12 times over. Regardless, here's the new save file! @Eltosian Kadath, you're next! 1445568180_FE6story.sav Edited May 4, 2020 by Benice
Eltosian Kadath
I should have checked in with this earlier, but I didn't have internet most of last week. @eclipse I am just going to assume something corona related got in the way, so I am adding another weekend (so two weeks sorta), but try to get your updates up as soon as possible, as @Benice is waiting on you. Looking at the save it looks like the good ending is still possible (as long as I don't flub it right at the end). Also I don't know if you want to spoil who died on the winning run Benice, but I see some folks absent from our ranks. eclipse
Shit, sorry! I'll get to it as soon as I log a few things elsewhere. EDIT: Done, finally. Chapter 19 Dear diary, I'd heard good things about Sacae's wide-open wilderness. But of course I don't get to relax, there's a war going on, and I'm needed AGAIN. ARGH! Spoiler Well then. That's called "one-shot a squishy". Is this guy serious? He's gonna be ripped apart by anyone with a decent HP pool. I vaguely remember another incident involving wyverns and a green-haired kid meeting his end. It won't happen on my watch. This guy doesn't get any better at punching things. Slacker. Take a good look at this. Silver Lance Wyverns can no longer land a hit on her and kill her instantly. Raigh's in a similar situation, but he traded two speed for five defense. It's great. One Kutolah versus these losers. My money's on the Kutolah. You're a little late, old lady. In other news, I do NOT like the hit rate against these guys. Fir doesn't like her hit rate, either. This kid, of all people, is trying to improve his hit rate. You go, kid. I'll root for you. If this keeps up, I'm gonna need to watch out for flying pigs. Miledy feels like being merciful. Not that it's going to help the enemy. "Weapon triangle? That's a good joke." "Weapon triangle? I'd better pay attention!" "Weapon triangle? Like I need that?" I made Lilina bulkier so she wouldn't be one-shot. Luckily, the reverse doesn't apply here. Guess who will regret this decision more? Hint: Not me. "It has been far too long since you've taken a Steel Lance to to midsection,--" That's enough out of you. "I hear that if I get strong enough, I can wield a sword. Welp, time to level like I have one!" Scouts report no movement in the city. Like they're trying to keep me out. Perhaps I should take a page from a riveting tale I'm reading. One where an entire city is quarantined due to a highly contagious disease. Saul chuckled when I told him what to whisper in his message to the unfortunate recipient. "This quarantine is a violation of my rights!" "MAGA!" The author's notes indicate that "MAGA" sounds suspiciously like "GAGA", which is a common baby sound. He did not want to conflate babies with his antagonists, as he reasoned that babies will grow and learn, unlike the selfish protesters. For them, their chance at empathy sailed a long time ago. Some others want to enter the city. We do our part as dutiful guards and tell them to GTFO. "Riot control is great exercise." "This one called me Karen. My name isn't Karen. Please stop that." "I need a hair cut!" Anyone that dared to pass under the wyvern would be subject to their droppings. Even those guys aren't that desperate. Sadly, Lilina can't take punches to the face better. "I'm channeling my inner Swordmaster!" Whatever you say, Zeiss. He's been traveling with us the entire time, and only NOW you noticed? Many enemies will recount how they died to a fierce woman on a wyvern. This guy has to admit that he was killed by a kid. Zeiss makes a better sword guy. Hey, stop slacking! As in, she had to sit your ass down and tell you how to level, and she has to contend with capped stats! If Zeiss even thinks about wearing a dress with that kind of slit, I'm kicking him out of the army. This guy, who can't even throw a punch, showed up Perceval. A futile last stand. "I'm trying, Your Highness!" "Try harder, old man." No one died, I'll take what I can get. "One with the sword, one with the sword. . ." Okay, I'll promote you, just SHUT UP! You threw Klein off of his game. Sadly, there's only one Delphi Shield, but this is pretty damn sweet. THEN WHY AREN'T YOU SELLING IT? Shin gets a marriage proposal, which he respectfully declines. "Kill them or yourself, I don't care, now get OUT!" Not shown: Raigh sharpening his knife. There's not much else he can do at this point. But he's trying. "LIKE HELL IT IS" Zeiss yelled from the back. This caused Shin to laugh, which threw his level. Thanks, Zeiss. eclipse
Chapter 20 Dear diary, No rest for us. We need to root out some Etrurian who got really lost. Spoiler The Whisperer of Riots, ladies and gentlemen. To what? Get shown up by someone who's younger and better-looking than you? Conventional wisdom says to wait them out. Screw convention. Better than Klein, worse than Shin. Raigh has similar base stats, but she outstrips him on weapon experience. He can barely tell which way is up on a Heal, while she can wield Physic with ease. That guy has a Swordreaver, if I remember right. I have a "screw your Swordreaver". Perhaps that wasn't such a mishap back in the desert. The strength of youth, or the experience of age, which will win? The damage is encouraging. The hit rate, not so much. Had I not used that Robe earlier, she would be in danger of dying. You should absolve yourself of the crime of being a shitty person. "For all those he wronged." And not a moment too soon!
Benice
Chapter 20x: Spoiler If they'd done more push-ups, they wouldn't have lost. Kids these days! What a riveting conversation! Welcome to Deja Vu, the video game! Well then, let's get prepped, kids! Our next gym class will feature an interactive close-up of many promoted enemies with annoying staves! To pass, you must not die! If you have any questions, bother Cecilia instead of me. Other than Roy, who must stay 25 feet away from Cecilia at all times to prevent an A-support. Shin won't be needing that. Fir did not do enough push-ups last week so she has to put on this ring instead. Maybe now she'll catch Noah's eye? Hah! If these students hadn't slacked off, they wouldn't have died as much! It's their fault for not being able to complete a marathon in full armor! Here is today's starting lineup! Chad needs to do more push-ups than Astolfo, so he'll be doing his job by stealing the Gatorade from the enemies. Shin Megami Tensei hides in this forest so his fellow nomads are even LESS likely to hit him! Thank goodness SOMEONE actually did the homework I assigned! Raigh, just because your G-ma scares me, you may cower behind this shield instead of putting on boots. Ha! Show 'em the result of 1200 push-ups a day, Percy! Mr. Megami Tensei, please dodge next time. TEN LAPS, PERCY! NOW!! Fir goes beast mode! Only it's not good this time because Saul may incur her wrath if he tries to flirt again. Saul, as annoying as your voice is, please don't let Fir kill you. Yay! No staff can silence Saul when a maiden is in his sightlines! Fir resolves to be more useful and to catch Noah's eye before the end of the war! LILINA, DO MORE PUSH-UPS! WE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME FOR YOUR INABILITY TO TAKE OUT THE MOST POWERFUL ENEMIES IN ELIBE! Deke ends this wyvern knight before the wyvern knight can end Lilina and reduce the population of Roy's harem. With the newfangled "Light brand" thing that Roy has, he can probably take out this Wyvern rider! As impressive as that was, Cecilia, faculty rules still do not allow teacher-student relationships. As impressive as that was, Roy, faculty rules still do not allow student-teacher relationships. Stick to just having Lilina, Shanna, Sue and Larum. I'd rather have him rub some dirt in it... Shin, you'd better not miss. Excellent! Keep up the good work, Mr. Megami Tensei. Keep hittin' the gym, Zeiss. Maybe one day Galle will consider taking you as best man. That nomad looked at me funny! Get him! Very good, Perceval! You are much more age-appropriate for Cecilia too, but alas... Klain resolves not to allow any to get past him! FEENISH HEEM! BAH! LILINA! WHAT WILL I SAY TO ROY IF HE LOSES ANOTHER HAREM MEMBER?! YOU CAN'T FIND NEW RECRUITS VERY EASILY NOWADAYS! Zeiss...C'mon, man! Miledy and Galle are both amazing! You can dodge! It will take a VERY long time for you guys to take out Percy with those little bows. Why Miledy? Both Klain and Percy are in range! HAREM IN DANGER! HAREM IN DANGER! Phew... NOT THE HAREM!! Phew...Oh man, Roy's going to take funding out of my programs, isn't he? Oh cripes. Keep dodging! Thea doesn't want to see you yet! Pardon me, what? What? Since when can horses cross rivers? And super easily too?! Stay...Calm... OFFSIDE! FOUL! UNSPORTING! THE SACAEN CURRICULUM IS TRASH!! BRING BACK BELTS, I SAY! BEGONE FROM MY LAWN, BAD CURRICULUM! CECILIA, DON'T GET MAD AT ME FOR BANNING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ROY! NO! CALM DOOOOWNN! Cripes. I need to get Roy out of there before he takes advantage of this. One does not simply silence Saul. Hooray for Nosferatu! Eliminate these new-curriculum trashers! DO MORE PUSH-UPS! I WANT A CAPPED STRENGTH BARD! Roy, Cecilia is definitely not open to go for a date right now. Attack this guy instead! Agh! Much better. Please hit, Lilina... I'd rather not let him get near you next turn when he can get around Deke. Roy, you need more quality control for the girls you let into your harem. Seems legit. Many Firs>A wyvern knight. Oof. MORE PUSH-UPS! NOAH LIKES STRONG WOMEN! HE WILL ONLY DATE GIRLS WITH 20< STRENGTH! Please die... I do not want to kill Klain...He's a nice bloke, even though his newfangled ideas of "equality" are weird. E L I M I N A T E H I M Ha! Blah! Begone from my Eliminean minecraft server! BLAAAH! YOU'RE LUCKY GALLE'S COMMITED TO YOU! Very good, Zeiss! You've been Shinned! Cecilia! You're never gonna land Roy if you can't keep him alive! Klain! Nein! GHYGHHBAHSHSAHSBDHSBSBDHBHHBFHDBFHABSHABSBBZVXGZCUIHFSDBIJC ...Do have fun with Thea, though. You were a good man despite not supporting the use of a belt! You deserve it! Other than Klain dy-Err...Going to see his old friends, that half of the map did OK. Ooooh nooo! Very good. I may consider permitting Roy to add you to his harem. ! WHAT?! STOP CROSSING RIVERS IN WAYS THAT CAVALRY REALLY SHOULDN'T! FILTHY NOMADS WHO CAN CROSS RIVERS EASILY! OFFSIDE! FOUL! UNSPORTING! Roy, I will permit you to add Cecilia to make up for the loss of Lilina. Ah! Roy can fly! Amazing! Blast! Danged new curriculum, making these students soft! They just don't make 'em like they used to... Anyways... Several Roy deaths later... (There was many more than this, but I usually had died inside by that point.) I have a good feeling about this one! Roy has a speedwing just in case he gets in a spot, and I am not bringing Chad because these enemies don't even have much to steal. This time I'm bringing enough people for just two slots because these students of mine can't do anything by themselves. Uhhh... Welp. Zeiss is a strong, independent wyvern knight who don't need no help! Let's help Percy a bit with his hitrates. Excellent work, you two. ...No doubling? MORE PUSH UPS! Zeiss realizes that he is strong but not independent and must fight his way out. MORE PUSH-UPS! You needn't be mad, Fir! YOU SHALL NOT PASS, NEW CURRICULUM! Good! Bad! Egged on by Elffin, Mr. Megami Tensei resumed his quest to recieve top marks. Excellent! We are pleased with you. Weak sauce wyvern. Be toast! Great! Zeiss! Get out of there! Not much dodging going on... And another restore charge must be used on Fir while Deke dodges a Nomad with a firey bow. Shin does a nice triathlon consisting of swimming, riding a horse and murdering annoying staffbots. Eyyyy! Outstanding! Zeiss heads out to try to get into Saul's Physic range. But Saul has to make Fir chill out before he can do that. And Fir will now attempt a bold river crossing! How and how not to get an A in gym. Spot the mistake! It was a really dumb one. Guhh! Honest to Elimine, did I really just do that? Well, since she's dead anyways, may as well make her go out with a bang! No, Roy! Not that kind! Oy... Excellent jobs by the Wyvern duo! Sigh... I suppose that now I have to deal with all of my student's dumb questions instead of sending them to Cecilia. With a curriculum like theirs? Not likely! Oy vey... ZEISS CALM DOWN! Shin Megami Tensei may need some help. What an excellent screenshot. Miledy and Deke co-rugby tackle this nomad. Healer exp for Saul. D'oh! Zeiss! Stop that! Mixed results...More push-ups for Fir and Deke tomorrow. Stop sleeping on the job, Shin! I may dock points off of your work ethic! This will not do. Lilina, fix this! What? Spellcasters can't cross the river? NOBODY CARES IF YOUR ROBE GETS WET FROM THE RIVER, FAM! ROY MAY EVEN ENJOY IT! Ughhh...Mages these days... Fir makes up for Lilina's bashfulness. Superb! Outstanding! Top-tier! Once you use the energy ring, Noah may notice you! I'd rather not have you die, Fir. With some more luck, Lilina may get the courage to cross the river! ...That's how the goddess icon works, right? Good enough. Miledy, crit somebody already! Deke manages to (D)eke out a victory! Good! This is why we do push-ups. This Nomad needs to stop. Deke may need some assistance... Great job, Percy! Finally, we have avenged Cecilia. Less than ideal, but Saul did do his push-ups. But was it enough? Yes, indeed! Good job, Saul! Yeah, I'd rather not, just in case some ambush spawns occur. BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL, FIIIIIIIIRRRR HAS THE POWEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRR! When will you calm down, Zeiss? Pretty good enemy phase, other than for Zeiss. MUCH better. Finally, we have almost eliminated these pesky nomads! Perfect! We can finally start pushing towards the end! As if Miledy needed to be better. Do fewer push-ups! Zeiss deserves a chance! I really, really wish that Saul would man up and cross the river already. Zeiss has finally calmed down! This comes at the cost of him missing again. Toasted! Excellent, both of you! Shin's nice work has been undone by that sleep staff. Get him next turn, Zeiss! Finally we can finish off one of the bosses! Bah. Saul's seductive whispers reach across the whole battlefield. Finally, Zeiss! Decent! And the moving enemies have been dispatched! Toasted! This guy didn't have a death or battle quote. Mr. Megami Tensei wants to be zoom zoom fast! ...When he's not sleeping. NEVER MIND, THEN! Nothing can keep him from running! Zeiss helpfully carries Saul over to help Fir. Sieze? I guess that this was the right point? I'd best be prepared for anything, but I cannot resist the urge to sieze! ... But first, I want to see if the sieze is a command for both of these houses. ...This infernal bloke keeps dodging! Sieze already, Roy! ...Sheet. The dark mages can do some real damage to Zeiss, so he'll take the myrmidon. Heck! DEAR ME, ROY GET KILLED BY BASICALLY EVERYTHING Will Roy survive? Will I have to play through this chapter again? Will I stop making weird fanfic references? Those questions will all be answered! Soon. This is already a really long update.

Sorry you had to suffer through so many resets. Ehh, almost all of them were bad plans from me. Luck played a part, (Saul getting killed by a shortbow crit doomed one of my closer attempts) but I just wasn't used to enemies being powerful. Zeiss is the one that got sent out alone? I feel kinda proud, when we started the Sacae I had to baby him the whole way, but he is all grown up now. I actually just forgot to move him next to Roy, where he should have been. Lol. So what's up with all the push-ups and curriculum things? I was out of ideas, so I made my tactician a gym teacher. 20x-part 2 Spoiler Now then, picking up from where we left off... AAAARGHH! GAK! D'OH! Roy thankfully did just enough push-ups to survive there. In six rounds of combat, Fir has still not landed a hit on Thoril. Shin has, but not very often. SAUL'S IN DANGER! Let's get rid of these guys before it's too late. I can physic Roy with Saul safely and Shin can take one of the enemies, but we need to get rid of the myrmidon and Nomad. Fir! Prove to me that giving you the energy ring was worthwhile! More push-ups for you, Fir! Unacceptable! Crit next time! Ah...Hmm...I don't think that Zeiss should do this. Ah, screw it. I can rescue with Shin if I need to. Great job, young man! Your efforts have paid off! I'd hoped to save this for some boots, but that extra bit of avoid and speed will allow him to not die as easily, Oh noo...If Saul misses this, he's dead. I chose to attack from 2-range instead so that the myrmidon couldn't get him. WHY?! WHY MUST I DERAIL THIS RUN BY KILLING THE GOOD STAFFBOTS?! AHHH! YEEESSSS!! YES YES YES YES! I'M OKAY! Shin, for the love of Elimine, don't miss. I will make you do many push-ups. Thank goodness! The folks from Miledy's corner are here to help! Well, they will be soon. Time to put Roy's survivability to the test! Bad Roy! Not...Awful... But not helpful right now either. Fir's so fast, you can't even see her! GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! Oh man...This makes up somewhat for all the dodging Thoril did. Let's help him survive a bit longer. I was going to send Shin, but I accidentally put Saul in Thoril's attack range, so Shin had to go to the rescue. Fir gets to help instead! These nomads are annoying. But none can stand up to Zeiss! Good thing you dodged there! That crit rate scares me. And Roy is just about home free! Miledy gets to work on Thoril. ST. ELIMINE, STOP DODGING! I WILL HAVE WORDS WITH YOUR PRINCIPAL, THORIL! YOU'VE THOREALLY DONE IT NOW!! Another Zeiss dodge, another reason to finish Thoril ASAP. Let's feed this kill to Roy so that he may be able to be decent once we get the Binding Blade. Meh. T'was worth a shot. Zeiss finishes him. Phew! We're home free now. After far more dodging... We finally defeat Thoril! Saul's feeling skilled. Fir's feeling lucky. Not sure why, 'cause I'm making her do more push-ups until she gets stronger! I am fairly certain that this is not the gate that I need to sieze, but free exp! Oh wow, it actually is straight up telling me which gate is the right one. Yep! After Miledy and Deke are done wiping the floor with the enemies, Roy tries to do something right! MORE PUSH-UPS, ROY! HIT HIM NEXT TIME! We go for the exp by taking out this boss, Giving us nothing but a good reason to make Deke do more push-ups, And finally take out the right boss. Fir resolves to never miss another nomad! She'll do just fine with that promise, since there isn't any left to fight! I was going to head down to those last few enemies at the bottom, but I think that our class has seen quite enough of these nomads and druids. Of course they don't! We have Shin Megami Tensei on our side! Hoooraaaay! Mr. Megami Tensei can now destroy everything! Please do, Merlinus. Roy has to talk about Zephiel's backstory. OOOOOOOOH! That's a sick Burn! (Or should I say Bern?) Fortunately for Zephiel, poison on Elibe is bad! Seriously, it does, like, two damage every turn! How? And he was still allowed to inherit the throne despite murdering the old king because...? Eh, Desmond was bad. That's probably why Zephiel's still popular in bern. PPPPPPPPFFFFFFFTTT! No, Roy, It really won't. If you'd done more push-ups, maybe, but no. Wooo! Time to have fun at the bloodiest day in Elibe's history! eclipse
. . .well crap. I was hoping that Cecilia would've survived this. Anyway, am I next?

The save is just a little above, or the one labeled Next Save on the first page. Benice still has another chapter to write-up (and another day to do it based on the schedule). Just as a warning there are more deaths from 22&23 as well...
Eltosian Kadath
I should have been a bit more on the ball with this last week, but it looks like updating the first page with the schedule really slipped my mind. @Benice any idea how much longer it will be to get your other chapter up? Benice
(Note: This was actually my second attempt but my first one ended on turn 2 because I accidentally deployed Roy and Cath alone.) Chapter 21: Spoiler For today's gym class, I'm bringing Dayan to replace Cecilia to deal with the annoying little kids. I bring Cath and Merlinus to sell stuff for boots! I also plan to move as fast as possible so I don't miss the gaiden. Merlinus is gonna get sacked for the sake of saving Cath. Dayan, Klain and Raigh should be able to deal with those wyverns. While Perceval leads the charge! YOU MISSED A 91 ALREADY?! Augh... Shin cleans up after Deke's miss. Fir! C'mon, you've got a 31 crit chance! Land one and save some durability, please! Because our class failed to do eight hundred push-ups before and after every meal, they're squishy and must be protected from the scawy waivurns with Milady. Even Milady needs a crit to dispatch this one, though. Too bad. No crit. But she did dodge! That bishop can do some damage to Deke, so Saul gives Perceval a hand before he goes to take him out. Ough... He can only reach with a javelin... Great! Outstanding! Zeiss is here to help his sis out. "I IS STRONK." This is why you do push-ups, kids! Take note! There goes Merlinus. Oh well. You didn't die! Raigh prepares to Nosferatank. Lilina grows closer to Roy. Oh boy, these paladins and wyverns scare me. Oh yeah! Everything's going great! OH GOD NO ...He dodged. And we're back on a roll! Oh dear. Tut tut...If you'd only done more push-ups... Oh no. Our charge leads to some more great experiences for our class! I must remove anyone who can reach Elphin. Klain helps with that goal... And Fir finishes. Hopefully it was enough to keep Elphin alive to do more push-ups! RUB SOME DIRT ON IT, FAM! YOU CAN KEEP PLINKING ON THAT HARP OF YOURS! Get back here! Grrr....This will be noted on your report card! Oh dear...Our frontline isn't lookin' too healthy. Which means it's Saint's Staff time! MOVE IT OR LOSE IT, FOLKS! ONLY GOT 22 TURNS LEFT! These guys are finally nearly dispatched. Phew! I think that Zeiss is going to be able to make it to the secret shop while Roy, Milady, Fir and Lilina take down Murdock, and then that'll be all for this gym class! Woopsie. Didn't mean to use that. Dangit! AAAAAAAARGGGHHH! Not good! Zeiss is in really big danger! He's trapped between two groups of enemies... D'oh! I need to get Roy and co. to Murdock ASAP! Zeiss is out of Physic range... My last gambit to keep him alive is using the last charge of the Saint's staff. Fir is my best bet to take out Murdock real quick and if Zeiss is gonna make it out, we've gotta clear this map in about three turns. Fir! Dodge! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUURTWANGLER Oh boy. There go the boots, the Durandal, the fast way to defeat Murdock, the good ending and my sanity! Well, we may be totally and utterly surrounded, but we can do it, even if the good ending is forfeit! I just need to keep Roy out of everyone's range... And he managed to contribute in the process! Convienient crit, Dayan! Show the young/dead 'uns how it's done! Uhh... Roy, please don't get one-shot. Yeah, you sorta did. But it's okay, you finally promote soon! Well then, we'll get 'em next time! Maybe we'll get some boots too! I'll try to have the next update up ASAP. Benice
Chapter 21, part 2: Electric boogaloo Spoiler Okay, I actually have a better plan this time! Niime will function well as a staffbot and this time I know where the ambush spawns are and therefore I am less likely to kill Fir and Zeiss by getting them cut off/isolated. I've got this! I can do it! Percy decides to make things interesting and misses. It doesn't work because he gets healed anyways. Full throttle! We're going to finish this now, or everyone in the class except for Shin gets an F! Huh, it appears that I wasn't able to get Cath out of the way. ... Eh, she'd get an F anyways. Perceval remains exemplary! Platoon leader of the mad lad who killed Cath, you may have taken Cath, but you will never take Roy's harem! Have at thee! Very nicely done, you two. Roy may be able to ORKO Idunn at this rate! This mad lad did in Cath. He will not escape our faculty's wrath! The one and only shortbow crit anyone will ever see! This guy has to die here. Because of his javelin, Yoder or Saul can get attacked by four enemies and will prolly die. Lucky crit? Please? Oourgh... AHAHAHAHAA! YESSS! LUCKY CRIT!!! Zeiss also gets this outstanding level during his contributions to operation "Do not let grandpa Yoder die." Yo, Bartre, this armor knight flirted with Fir! Bartre will not let this philandering armor knight philander any longer! Three cheers for AI prioritizing Merlinus. Saul? Why Saul? They must be Saulty about him having more success with the ladies than them. Miledy hits up the 'hood and they give her a knight's crest. Why they would just give away a knight's crest, I don't know. Maybe Galle was chilling there and he gave it to her. Cleared out those paladins in record time! Great work, class! CRIPES I SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE FOR THE BARTRE KILL ON THE WYVERN And there goes another faculty member! Jeez, maybe I oughta become a nurse or something, being a gym teacher isn't my strong suit... And Roy's done as many push-ups as possible now. And this time we made it to the shop BEFORE Galle shows up to ruin the party. Okay, now we can just run forward as far as possible for the next few turns. Oh boy, here comes the wyvern spam. Let's finish this before we get surrounded. Okay, I think we'll finish in time...But will everyone survive? Don't worry, Fir. That's how my social interaction works too. OH MY GOD AMBUSH SPAWNS ...And Gale. Sheesh, that was close. Some wrinklies dodging death... Dangit. Another faculty member. Good thing I took Maltet off of him! Niime, please don't die! I need someone else to field the complaints from the students! And nice, Magic! This is what we call in the gym teacher business a "suboptimal position." Toasted! C'mon...You can do it Klain! He got it! I didn't get the critical animation, as usual. Sorry Gale, but you need to die. Got 'im. We've gotta clear out this guy at the very least. Deke and Niime get it done! You know, we might be ok for next turn. Nnnope! More reinforcements! AAAIIIIEE! That was too close... Klain, no! Thank you! Ouch! Oooooffff......... The bolting sage must die! Milady does not comply and refuses to crit. Cross your fingers! Not you, Percy! You can't throw a javelin with your fingers crossed! Welp. Milady might die. I'll figure out some way to save her. For now I'd best try to not get Saul/Niime/Klain killed. I love it when the enemy is exactly one point of damage short. Zeiss, you'd better not get critted here! You weren't critted, so it's good enough for me. We cleared out a lot of 'em. Still, this is not good. Someone will die. MILADY DON'T MISS! HE DOUBLES YOU! Oooooohhhhh.... Add three more tallies to the "I'm blessed" counter! This moment is worthy of a Saint's staff use. It's mostly to save Milady because nobody's staff range can reach her, but it doesn't hurt Saul either. Uhh...Wait, the saint's staff completely heals every blue unit... ...Apparently, except for the user. Well. Saul will probably die now! Please no more reinforcements... Oh...My...God... And there's no more reinforcements! That went splendidly! Now, to the hard part: Defeating Murdock. Great start, Lilina! I don't actually remember why I did this. Anyways... I eventually managed to get Fir over to Murdock for the quick win after holding off more reinforcements. And we did it! 22 turns, and only a few crippling losses to our army! Considering that both Milady and Zeiss need to be alive for this gaiden, I wish that they'd shown up instead of our dead bard. Hooray! I got it! The good ending is still intact, somehow! ...But most of our army isn't. Ah, well, you win some, you lose some.

Elphin may be way more relevant gameplay wise, but I liked using Bartre, and his supports with Fir. RIP Bartre, you were a great dad. 50 minutes ago, Benice said: Dangit. Another faculty member. Eltosian Kadath
Spoiler I arrived too late for the battle before the Shrine of Seals. Yonder went ahead to get the Spear of Ice to Roy, while I led what was left of the Elmine church's forces to distract the Pegasi and Falicorn in pursuit. By the time I arrived Bishop Yoder was already dead. And his army needs me in the battle within. So much of Bern's might was defeated in battle above, So many are dead, but with how tight these corridors are, its easy to setup a competent army. Looking into our supplies there are just enough fresh boots to supply one to each of this core (including those that have already claimed a pair), so I have them spread through the group. The Bernese forces have extinguished all the lights within, so lets see if I can get some information from those slinking in the darkness. ...I am rather sympathetic as well. I should have been there in that same battle where Bishop Yoder died as well. There is a strange hollowness in thinking I must now deny this man his vengeance as well. The Elder Revelation... could that have been the tome of the forgotten one of the 8...I suppose I should see if Roy's other sources of information have dug up anything more useful. "The enemies orders are about protecting a Legendary weapon called The Elder Revelation, which could be that tome..." "What kind of traps? This doesn't seem like the kind of place where natural phenomena have been channeled into traps like we faced in the caves of Roland and Durban. Are they more man-made traps like pressure plate triggers?" "Although I don't think we can afford to risk another thief dying to the might of Bern's army, before taking the capital itself, we will simply have our troops proceed with caution." Alright onto the battle, the first thing we need to do is stave off the darkness with a torch staff. Our troops are switching out their boots as we find the time for it. We are committing our forces to the eastern route. No reason to risk the traps along both paths That gets some nice safe enemy pha- ...well that complicates things a little. I only have one restore use left, and no means of getting more. I guess Raigh will just have to wait it out. All right time to deal with the initial foes just ahead Deke is pulling out the axes to chip this foe in the hope he learn to use Armads, as Bartre... I know I can't be everywhere, and we need the Spear of Ice. Even if I was there to lead this army in the battle of the Shrine of Seals he might have died anyway, and we all would be worse off with one of the Legendary Weapons beyond our reach. I can keep telling myself that, but like vengeance, it doesn't fill the emptiness of grief. I am not sure how much longer I can... No I have to keep going, until this war is won. I am reminded of one of the parables of St. Elmine, the tale of the Flicker in the ant hill, where St. Elmine comes upon the Flicker taking the spoils she raided from an anthill back to her nest only to... sigh, I could never truly give the tale the same justice Yoder did. He really was a good priest, when first he told that tale, it was to show me how acts of violence and revenge propagate, ending in only the helpless suffering for the mistakes of their leaders, but now its hard not to see in it the helplessness of being absent for a disaster is just as devastating and letting it happen on your watch. Zeiss seems a bit too contented by his swordplay, but at least he killed the sniper. Milady then gets a bit protective of her brother (or is she just showing off?) by crit killing the Hero just in front of him. Now there is just the Light blade wielder to deal with, so Percival chips him for improvement almost as complacent as Zeiss's. That deals with the immediate threats, so we can move ahe- ...Huh, a General across the channel fortunately Lilina is fast and tanky enough to deal with that. We are progressing at a fair pace, with all of those around the bridge able to counter at range, but pursuit from the other path is gaining on us. Seems the javelin precaution was a little premature, but I can see the sniper just past him that couldn't quite reach. Lets start by dealing with the pursuit. As long as Zeiss deals with this sniper he should be able to body that group (and if he missed his sister should be able to save him) ...That is a bit concerning, but Zeiss should still be fine (and if things start going south he can always out run them). That clear out the path for a chain of killer weapon crits to clear out the rest Just in case Zeiss needs the help these two should be able to mop up the rest of them. Not quite enough to take out the hero, but that should leave him easy pi- ...well its not enough to stop Zeiss ...sigh The axe use wasn't that much of a risk, as Lilina can take his attacks if he lived (plus Saul could claim the kill as well) Now that was just a graceful way to deal with him, and ensuring the ability to counter. The last merc in the south fell, so Zeiss rescue dr- ...or Deke is too heavy for anyone else to take from Zeiss to drop. At least he could carry him across the gap, as it is a long way around. That takes care of the enemies we chipped, and the rescuing should keep us moving at a steady pace Peres has made the mistake of underestimating our mages. We are pushing ahead, and while Saul got silenced, at least that staff should be out of charges (assuming there is only one out in the darkness). Milady manages to show us one of those traps she warned us about, but they appear to be rather toothless, and Zeiss grabs an elixir, as I have a plan which may require healing. Then this slight complication gives us a bit of pause Deke should be drawing that General out... but he just stands there, so we take him out. Now for that maneuver which might require some healing but doesn't and with that Milady should be able to take out the other mage, and with the Delphi shield safely crip- ...the worst part about this, is if Zeiss were in another place I could rescue Milady after her attack and have him finish the job. Oh well Deke and Lilina are proving to be a reliable pair to deal with these enemies After all this talk of Zeiss being able to steal her kill, Milady just decided to crit kill him herself. With all the range threats taken out Deke and the Raigh (who has finally recovered and begging to help) take out the General blocking the path ahead. Raigh really was eager to contribute, as that kinda pep is exactly what he needed. Lilina seems to be hinting that she prefers combat to healing. This might be overly cautious, but I avoid aggravating the Druids on the other side until Zeiss gets the drop on him. Which was clearly the safe play Zeiss has made it abundantly clear that it could be worse. Zeiss gets both healed, and rescued to drag him further along, while Deke prepares a handaxe for the next Druid, but he doesn't take th- ...Huh. Where did he come from? He is never going to catch us at this point, but it is odd to see pursuit coming from that direction. A bit cautious in this advance, but there may be mobile foes from the other side, and I don't want to lose anyone here. Again my caution in unnecessary and this waiting foe falls easily. The Hero proves to be mobile though, and with another dangerous brave weapon it takes a bit of effort to take down safely Lets see if the sniper, and archer from the other side will break themselves on Deke. That is the last use of the Torch staff. Its light led us through this maze safely so far, and in a way it will be missed. Now that Druid in particular draws my attention, as he seems a bit out of place. Could he be advancing on our position, like that mercenary we glimpsed briefly. Seems the sniper does move and injuring this archer should make them both kill themselves against Deke's handaxe when next they move. This poor fool is another of those that simply waited for their death, when they could have moved, and make an impact on this battle. We really have broken the will of these foes haven't we. They lost their hero, right above them just beyond their reach. In a way I pity them, but I suspect they would resent such feeling from a foe, and our forces are not so much stringer that we can afford the luxury of indulging such sentiments. If things go poorly Deke may need the extra health to face both the archer's last shot, and a critical shot from the sniper's killer bow. Lets send Peres to meet the man whom he wishes he could die beside. By the grace of St. Elmine, has he drawn forth the power of the Elder Revelation to face us? ...If he did it failed him. His magic lacked the terrifying might of a Legendary Weapon, and he died down here in the dark. I hope he has a chance to see the general he respected so in whatever lies beyond. He ended thing so fast I barely noticed. Roy wasn't quite close enough to seize and while I could end things now, I think I will wait just long enough to get the experience of killing that last mobile Druid I noticed before. Deke wanted to showoff his axe skills, and he still needs a lot of work before the Armads will accept him. Enough blood has been shed by both side here; let what is left of Peres's forces flee first the darkness of the Elder Revelation, and then the shining light of the Binding Blade. "The Elder Revelation, of the unknown hero." "I knew not even that... and yet it sounds strangely familiar." "They say elder magic eats away at the essence of those who wield it. Who knows what would be left of the kind of person that could create a spell of such magnitude as the Legendary Weapons" "We are at the Shrine of Seals. The implication is clear, the Legendary weapons were sealed away, but I wonder why." "How do you know that?" ".**--<*..<.,,*=->.*" "-ick call for a medic Roy is-" - "Thank goodness." "I don't know the scriptures as well as Yoder, but St. Elmine tells us that the creator gave us the will to make our own destiny. Even the 8 Heroes of Legend started their life as normal people; it was actions anyone else in their position could take, that made them heroes." "You say that as if taking castle Bern is a task so trivial it isn't worth mentioning. Although I suppose you are right, he is what we are breaking the castle to stop." 196 If Roy had any doubts that the Binding Blade was destined for him, the change in him should make it clear, but I suppose none of us can see ourselves. I wonder if others can see what destiny I have crafted for myself as easily...
