Considering how Dangen is publishing and localizing Vestaria Saga, this definitely does not look good, especially when you consider that Kaga released Vestaria Saga for free in Japanese and the English localization costs money. The receipts are pretty damning and is absolutely not a good outlook. Mods, I apologize if this is not the right place to post.

For a bit of background, a few days ago, developers of the game Devil Engine, a game published by Dangen, accused them of not paying them. And just yesterday, the Medium article was published with accusations and receipts. 

One has to wonder if the reason we haven't heard much about Vestaria Saga's international release was because of this.

I wouldn't be surprised if mismanagement was holding up Vestaria Saga's release, though.

Might be the case; mismanagement at the top most certainly trickles all the way down. Either way, this whole mess of incompetency really puts a damper on things. Shame poor Kaga ended up partnering with a publisher that has mismanagement problems and severe allegations of misconduct and screwing over and not paying developers.

They've actually talked quite a bit about the release on their Discord, and currently the beta is out with testers. They basically had to rebuild the game from the ground up because the original version of SRPG studio the game was built in didn't support English, but the updated version broke a lot of the game.

The release date for the game is some time this month, assuming the beta doesn't highlight any huge issues.

A second warning was today and an article from US Gamer was published on Friday. Kaga really, really got unlucky to end up with this publisher of all things.

Beta testing wrapped up yesterday.

I just now got around to reading some of that. I'm not through with it yet, but, as someone who works in software development, this sort of thing is fairly common. If your sales rep isn't lying, they probably aren't very good at their job. None of the mismanagement or communication stuff would look out of place on a dilbert strip.
