I'm remember a quote one time saying, "The Internet is like Ancient Egypt.  People writing on walls and worshipping cats."  With a quote like that, it makes me wonder, have you like me ever sat down and really thought about what you were typing onto a topic like this one before?  Have you ever thought about what it would be like if 500 years from now, humans were somehow able to find a message board of any kind and wonder just what we were thinking?  I mean it's a trip to look back on old message boards from the 90s as it is for a lot of us.  Just imagine what it would be like for someone 500 years in the future to read this?

If you had any of those thoughts before, anything that you felt was important for the human race to know to advance itself in a few centuries from now, now is the chance for you to do so!

Basically come up with words of wisdom for the future generations to look back on and be inspired by once they have a chance to read these words for themselves.  Provided the human race doesn't die from mass extinction or the internet isn't wiped from existence, let these be the words that offer readers a glimpse of what our lives were like today and how they can better understand us as well.

I'll try to give a few examples:

- What you are reading is called the English language.  This was a very prominent language that appeared on a lot of United States and European websites.  We knew that multiple languages existed, but people who weren't motivated enough to lean another one just stuck with what they knew.

- This website (https://forums.serenesforest.net) you are on is dedicated to an electronic form of entertainment which we called video games for a specific multimedia franchise called Fire Emblem.  In our era it's a fairly popular franchise published by Nintendo and had multiple releases that caused a great deal of controversy among people who enjoyed the franchise and with those who felt it could somehow improve.  We're not in the era where we saw wars waged in the name of a Fire Emblem game before so at least things have been pretty calm for us.

- Yes, fidget spinners were once a thing.  They stopped being a relevant product of our culture about a few months after they debuted though.

- Beware of fake news. It comes in many forms. The best way to combat fake news is to educate yourself.

- Sarcasm is hard to read/discern in written media.

- Waifus and husbandos are a big thing right now.

- Don’t trust fortune cookies, ever.

-  If fortune cookies don’t exist anymore in your current year, it’s pretty much just a small cookie you get with Americanized Chinese food. Inside of the two halves of cookie is a small piece of paper with your lucky numbers, a word that you can learn in Chinese, and on the other side is a lame piece of advise that’s trying to be philosophical.

- Currently, Earth is the only colonized planet.

- If you’re still single, go find a real-live 3D girl/guy. Waifus/Husbandos don’t actually love you, no matter what you want to believe. Trust me.

-Pineapples can taste/feel like bananas. Search out for 'Sponge Bob' or 'Bob Esponja' (because, believe it, it's going to +30 years in Brazil after it's 'dead') if you want to know what a pineapple is or just forget about them. They didn't taste that great. Don't freaking forget about bananas, though. They are yellow (the peel is 'yellower'), are commonly associated with monkeys/gorillas (because of the evolution stuff, I don't think they'll ever forget about them) and taste great as long as you don't make hot stuff with it. It also looks like a smile or the crescent moon.

That's all I have.

-How the heck did you find this site, anyway?

-If the off-chance one of my descendants is reading this: Hi! Currently, your ancestor is making a bet that, if a remake of the videogame "Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War" gets remade, she would record herself eating an unpeeled orange (an orange, round, usually sweet fruit with a peel) while wearing a Thanos mask (Thanos being an antagonist from a comic-turned-movie franchise known as the "Marvel Cinematic Universe" that is incredibly popular in the year that I'm writing this) while the Smash Bros (Smash Bros is a very well-known fighting videogame consisting mostly of characters from the gaming company Nintendo, although there are characters from other companies) version of Edge of Adversity (a song from the aformentioned Genealogy of the Holy War) plays in the background. I am also attempting to brainstorm ideas for a fanfiction (a piece of literature uploaded online that is written by fans of a certain series) series that I know nobody will read because the concept is weird. I have no known title for the complete series, but I do know that the first part will be called "Reminiscing Failures". I will probably not be famous, and you will most likely be disappointed in me.

Hello, Corporate States of America. While you read in holographic texts about how much worse things were in my time, I'll just say golly gee it's nice to be able to say things critical about our government. Here's what your database doesn't say about your founding father, Walt Disney. He was a total tool that believed in flags over people. Oh, you want to know why we knowingly flooded the earth? The Great Human Mystery, huh? I'll answer that question when you tell me why you enslaved those well meaning squishy aliens.

I just wanna say, there was a hoax that on December 21st in the year 2012, the world was going to end.

Me personally, I think it did because nothing has made sense since.

- If you have come across people on the internet who proclaim themselves "flat-earthers", these are people who are of the belief that the planet Earth that we live on right now is actually flat.  As in flat like a sheet.

- It is in fact true that the Greek philosopher Eratosthenes of Alexandria did discover that the Earth was round over 2000 years ago (or 2500 in your case).  That hasn't stopped people from creating theories in our time that we might have been lied to about what the Earths true shape was.

- Yes there is debate among some of us about the idea of whether or not we faked the Apollo 11 moon landing.  This was a key part of why there are those who have argued that we have not achieved space travel yet.  We're all hoping that in 2520, space travel might be somewhat more advanced than it is now.

- The answer of whether or not the Earth is in fact flat or round is something that we have to leave to your generation to answer once and for all.

- Do your best not to mistake flat-earthers with the people who proclaim that "Flat is Justice!".  This is simply a phrase among those who simply wish to proclaim their preference for women with very small breasts.  At least it was primarily about women when the whole proclamation started.

How regular people go through life:

Firstly, they are born. For the first five years of life, they are attended to by one parent (typically the mother) while the other earns money by working for nine hours on weekdays (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), one hour of which is set aside for eating a midday meal. Starting with the fall after this period, the child begins state-sponsored education (though some parents instead pay a private institution to educate their children instead, and many debate which approach is superior).

Continuing until the summer between their eighteenth and nineteenth birthday, they will go to the place of education (school) on weekdays, but not on weekends (Saturday, Sunday), or the days near holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, or days on which they are sick (at attending school during these days would spread their illness to other attendees of the school), or during the summer months.

During this period of education, they learn skills such as mathematics, reading comprehension, history, and the sciences. Many of these children complain about the usefulness of these skills because children are inherently selfish and stupid, being unable to appreciate the value of good education. After this period, they have two options:

  • The first option is to attend something called a trade school, will they will learn skills pertaining to technical (which is to say, requiring specific techniques and careful steps that are not commonly known) or laborious maintenance work and then begin applying those skills in a job (called a 'trade' in times before this time). They may also become an apprentice to someone well versed in the trade and learn how to perform the duties of the job from them.
  • The second, more common option (though it was once more rare and many suspect it will become more rare again) is to attend a university. The child will pay the university money in exchange for more education. This further education typically lasts 4-5 years and is specialized in a specific area, the areas available for them to specialize in being dependent on the university they pay to attend. Common options include business administration, specific areas of the humanities, and specific areas of the sciences.

Regardless of which option is chosen, very little will actually change for the person. Like their working parent, they will go to their place of work at 8 o'clock (an hour or so after the sun rises), work until around 12 o'clock noon (when the sun is highest in the sky), then take an hour to eat. Then they will resume working until 5 o'clock (around when the sun begins to set) and then go home. While they are at work, they shall engage in tasks which they are divorced from the purpose of but which are important to get done. They will spend less time working than engaging in conversation with their fellow workers and also waiting to be able to ask their supervisor how to complete their assignment or what their assignment even is. Once the person reaches home, they typically must see to domestic responsibilities such as the rearing of children and the cleaning of the house. For leisure, all ages watch motion pictures of varying form, length, subject matter, and quality.

Other Notes:

A week is a period of seven days. In order, they are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Weeks cycle, meaning the end of one is immediately followed by the beginning of the other.

The most populous country in the world is China. Though everyone dislikes the way the Chinese government treats it people (preventing them from freely practicing their religion, censoring voices which disagree with the state, there's also a great debacle concerning Hong Kong which is beyond the scope of this notice), everybody still wants to take economic advantage of the country's existence. We buy products which are made there because they make them more cheaply, and we want to sell our products there because they have many buyers.

A motion picture is a series of images played in rapid succession, typically 25-60 every second, such that the illusion of motion is created. They are accompanied by audio, what the characters depicted in them say and music which punctuates the mood the creators of motion picture want you to feel. The most common way to watch motion pictures is on a glass screen which has light projected onto it from behind, and the motion picture is commonly stored digitally.
Motion pictures are primarily produced by a small handful of companies who hire workers from a small handful of universities or who know other company employees.

25% of the global population is Muslim, with most Muslims living in the Near East, the Middle East, and North Africa.

We used to have obsessions with fictional characters from various forms of media. Probably, every fictional character in your time is now real. Perhaps they had built and conquered empires over the pasts centuries. If so we shouldn't had let our waifus take over our laifus.

Or maybe you just built robotic versions of them.

Are catgirls a thing in your time?

Oh yeah, we have some pretty good tasting fake meat now. Impossible Burgers and Beyond Meat are two brands that makes fake meat that tastes closest to meat.

  • 2 weeks later...

-  If you noticed in the forum game section, there is a game where people simply count to the number 802,701.  Hence its title "Count to 802,701".  There have been many attempts to speed up its progress and many corrections made since its creation in 2010, but after nearly 10 years we managed to get it to 34,000 or so.

-  We're not sure if we'll be able to achieve that long off number in our lifetime or not, but a lot of us consider this particular thread to be one of the standing achievements of the forum game section.

-  You may have found that every now and again, someone in the game posts a comment intended as a display of laughter whenever the number "69" is involved.  This is due to many of the observers who found amusement in associating the number with the action of the same name (the soixante-neuf as it's known in French).  I would offer information on what this act was, but I don't want to lose my posting privileges on this website.

-  If you made your way up to 33,666, you'll notice that there is a long series of periods at the end of the number.  After these periods, there was a link to a video from a video sharing website called YouTube to a seven second scene from the 2003 science fiction action film The Matrix Revolutions.  The scene in question is of the character Agent Smith looking into the camera offering what many of us considered to be a comically maniacal laugh.  The intended joke behind this link is that the number "666" has since Roman times been associated with the "number of the Beast", which in Christian terminology is a number associated with the foretold Antichrist or the general perception of evil.

-  If you continue further, you will find that at the post where it should have said 33,999, you will only find "33," and possibly the remains of another link to another YouTube video if not just a blank space depending on what remains of it in the future.  This video is of a small segment from the 2009 alternate history black comedy war film Inglorious Basterds.  The scene is one of Adolf Hitler (portrayed by German actor and director Martin Wuttke) repeatedly slamming his hand on a desk multiple times while proclaiming, "Nein!  Nein!  Nein!" in synchronicity.  The joke here is that in the German dialect, the word "nein" translates to "no" in English.  Despite this being the case, the word is pronounced very closely to how the English language pronounces the number "9", hence the phrase from the video completing the remainder of the number.

-  You have doubtless come across several comments about the number "34" just as you have the number "69", or the "rule of the internet" it is often associated with.  The identified "Rule 34 of the Internet" is a slang term which in our time proclaimed that every conceivable topic to be discussed or shown on the internet would inevitably be subject to some amount of pornographic material whether it be by official creation of the associated creators or by the work of passionate enthusiasts in the particular subject.  We are not sure how widespread or removed from the internet it is in your timeframe, but we can confirm that this sort of thinking is rather prevalent even in areas where it might not have seemed possible.

- Doing some math, it will take us about 236 years or so, assuming the same rate of progress, so it will be done by around 2256 about 264 years before 2520.

- Despite having the brightest scientists on Earth allowing us create nuclear weapons, land on the moon, create the Internet, etc., the average American is horrible at math compared to other developed nations.

- Thank goodness that the European Union is a fellow democracy and our ally, cause they have scientists that rivals ours, but their people generally seem to be better at math.
