A small update; currently event building and playtesting chapter 16.
Progress has been slow recently thanks to certain open-world gacha game that features Shy Freyja, Wind Xane and Yellow Byleth, but hey, here's something to compensate for that.
Also, I decided to put a difficulty warning on this page since Dracoseal is purposefully not made for those who has yet to taste Thracia, Radiant Dawn or Conquest.

Welp, sorry if it's not to your liking, but the game is intentionally made to be difficult as opposed to normal FE fangame. 😅

Pro-tip: Never shy away from using the Jagen in the 2nd chapter should things go wrong.

A preview of one of the maps that will be included in the next update, which is just around the corner. It’s an elaborate and complex defense map that will push one’s wit and ability to adept as the map will also adept to how you play.

“This is the Magical Kingdom of Evora, the land of tundra and mages. Despite being one of the more formidable kingdoms on Divinus, they’ll soon meet a similar fate to Aston. It is up to the combined forces of the new King of Aston Lionel, the Princess of Martin Johanna and the Princess of Evora Prisca to defend the kingdom’s capital from a demonic onslaught.”

Hey hey, people. Dracoseal version 0.48 is here! Here are the details about the new build:

Update v0.48:

  • Added chapter 13 ~ 16, all of them set in the Magical Kingdom of Evora.
  • Added six more playable characters, including the Princess of Evora and the Prince of Cooper!
  • Added new entries in Extras, including Gallery.
  • Added more new weapons, including the Tearing Lance, which is a Berwick Saga-styled cavalry charge lance named after TearRing Saga (“Tearing”…get it?).
  • Added the over-the-top critical hit animation, promote your unit so you can see them in action!
  • There are 4 difficulty setting now: Standard, Assisted, Kaga and Madhouse; if you’re new to Fire Emblem or SRPG in general and still want to try the hard games, Assisted Mode is here for you!
  • Several maps from earlier version has been revised and more dialogues have been added in some of them as well!
  • Gameplay and units have been rebalanced here and there.

This new version was playtested on Standard Mode with only using 2 stat boosters, lowered growth, intentional mistakes, and no warp-skipping, so it’s all fair and balanced! 😄

Known issues:

  • During Fog of War, trying to move past a unit using flier or any unit with the skill Pass will cause the unit to be halted as if they’re bumped into an enemy.
  • During Fog of War, it is possible to warp ON an enemy unit.

I've played Chapters 1-12 and I'm having a lot of fun playing. The only chapters I dislike are 7 and 8 but they're definitely playable. Chapter 12 is very frustrating but definitely the most fun I've had with Dracoseal. My question for the creator of the game is what intentional mistakes are you making when it comes to game balance?

Glad you liked chapter 12! Seven and 8 are reminiscent of FE4 so if that's not for you, I can see that.

The intentional mistakes I did was mispositioning (as in intentionally putting unit where they shouldn't have canto'd or initiated the combat), not using Peter as much, limiting to 2 stat boosters during full-playtests (and letting the rest of the stat boosters to rot in convoy), not abusing the warp-rescue staves and skipping support convos or events that could've given me items (Spoils of War convos and such).

Thank you for the response on the intentional mistake question. My main issue with 7 and 8 isn't the long maps (since that is Vestaria in a nutshell), but the pacing of gameplay feels off. For Chapter 7, the majority of the action is mainly in the first 10 chapters and everything else dramatically slows down. For Chapter 8, the first half was very fun because I felt I had multiple approaches to complete it. I felt the complete opposite for the second half because I think there's really only one approach to it. I understand having to slowly chip away the opposition but in my opinion I feel that even with warp-rescue and Martha's level 10 skill, the gameplay devolves to turtling.

Thank you for making Dracoseal. I plan on doing the updated chapters much later. I'm optimistic of future chapters due to the interesting ideas and the encouragement of warp-rescue.

Another animation I made for Dracoseal. Nowadays due to me preparing for my thesis, I can't make lot of progress on the game, but hey, at least I can make animations in my spare times aside from fine-tuning stuff here and there.
