Well the story was about graduating and moving to places for work and studying after high school and stuff, it tied in with several types of migration. The next one we had was much more intense, were we were a Jew during WW2. The professor said "Some of you will die today" but really no scenario lead to living. You die in all of them which aside from the migration points we saw in the stories, he wanted us to understand that yes there were survivors but that was being lucky as fuck ten million times. Also one day he put tape on the floor in the shape of a person and we had to investigate a murder that happened through the US-Mexico border, that was used for explaining about the migration that happens between these two, he's honestly just a good professor. We made a puzzle once on several historical-migration events too. It was really cool. He sounds like the coolest kind of teacher. But you know what? I can't fucking wait for him to get to languages... I read a geography book in the shelf in his classroom and seeing that languages would be a topic. I am excited, let's see what he makes us do now! Speaking of the Knight Sword, guy's spear rank is through the roof and twice as high as his sword rank, yet he still only brings an inaccurate sword into battle. What is it with Obi-Wan and constantly trying to get the high ground, even when he is lower than his opponent and it makes no sense for him to be higher? Obi-Wan doesn't need to be on the high ground, the high ground just needs to exist in the battle; Obi-Wan knows that when he has the low ground, he really has the high ground, from a certain point of view. Look at his battle record: Maul: Has low ground, wins Dooku: No high ground, loses Greivous: Has low ground, wins Vader: Has high ground, wins Vader rematch: No high ground, loses Obi-Wan with the high/low ground is canonically the most powerful Jedi. This is fact. Had Yoda not denied his request with typical Jedi arrogance, he could have beat Palpatine in the Senate building, which housed a variety of different altitudes; this so that the Chancellor could always have the moral high ground in Senate debates. But Obi-wan didn't fight Palpatine, and Yoda soon learned that you can't cleave the Sheev in a normal 1v1. As we all know, spinning is a good trick. However, only the Chosen one can spin outside of a starfighter. Palpatine tried spinning, but he lost (but this was intentional, as losing gave him the emotional high ground when Anakin arrived). The reason for this is that spinning provides a yin-yang approach (based in Eastern philosophy on balance), giving the spinner the high ground from above and below. This is why Obi-Wan was so emotional after defeating Vader on Mustafar; he expected to lose the high ground to the spin, but Anakin failed to maintain balance in the universe, symbolic of his fall to the dark side. Anakin doesn't hate sand for the reasons he told Padme; all Jedi hate sand, as the battlefield can rapidly change between low and high ground. This is the only reason why ______ killed ______ in Rebels. This is also why Obi-Wan hates flying; in space, there is no high ground as there is no frame of reference from which there is a high or low ground, due to the lack of gravity. In ANH, Vader proves his newfound mastery by engaging Obi on perfectly even ground. However, he lets himself die on the Death Star so that he could train Luke from a higher plane of existence. (Why was Vader so invested in the construction and maintenance of the Death Star? Because he knows Obi-wan can't have the high ground if there's no ground left.) In Return of the Jedi, you can see that the Throne Room contains a variety of different altitudes; Palpatine placed these there to ensure Vader's defeat. However, Sheev failed to realize that his weakness was no ground, and should have covered that gaping pit that does nothing. In conclusion, Obi-wan abuses spatial relativity and Buddhist doctrine in order to invoke his high-ground powers. VVVVVV! Haven't seen that in ages. I'm trying to think of examples where they're not edge cases (i.e. at the edge of the map) and I'm not thinking of examples so far, mainly because edge of the map can usually be fine enough (usually). For one edge case pissing me off, Gronder has one and it annoys me that they counted reaching the centre hill as a trigger for them because I cannot see how that should count as fair whilst you're possibly still in the northern part of the map; it mainly annoyed me because of Sylvain's replacement clocking my Lorenz when he held fine against a generic. Caspar with Lancereaver will likely do better, shame he doesn't have QR yet. Hmmm... Well, all right, but Maddening sucks still. Thracia not getting enough respect is really unsurprising considering when it released and how it did. Ultimately, while disappointing I don't expect it to gain much respect in the wider community. Doesn't really surprise me. Most of the game's women wear pants, you see. Heroes don't like it when women wear pants. How are you supposed to utilize the fanservice back-break angle to its fullest effect when the woman in question isn't wearing a mini-miniskirt? There's not much else to say about her stats, she's solid all around (though a tad less powerful than Clifford), so let's check her skills. - Shieldfaire, never a bad skill to have. - Mercy! She joins the Larentia/Perceval/Derrick club of being good people. - Adept is cool when it happens. - Throw is also always neat. All in all, not exactly the most stand-out skillset, but it's all pretty nice stuff to have. That's how I'd describe her overall, really. She's not the most powerful unit in the world, but she's good in all aspects, and will make a solid addition to any team - Especially one that's lost Clifford, like mine. These Scorpios are each equipped with a new sighting mechanism to overcome these problems. It's easy to use, and it does most of the hard work for you. As long as you don't screw it up, even beginners should be able to shoot like experienced ballisticians. In other words, the Scorpio improves soldiers' accuracy and makes training them much easier. I see! However, it's shorter-ranged, and... It's also got a big flaw. The way the calculations work, the sighting mechanisms only work well if you use multiple ones in tandem. So I assume that not having to deploy Esteban probably makes this easier, seeing how he leaves after talking to Sophie. ...plus, I would imagine that the Black Knight won't show up now. And if Burroughs is deployed, he takes the place of one of the NPC ballista, essentially further thinning out your forces. He can take a couple of hits, but the enemy will prioritize the ballistae, so it'd be difficult for him to see combat unless you actively try to make him. The enemy army today was designed to combat me, because it consists entirely of horsemen and more horsemen. This is actually the easier version of this map - if Esteban was alive and his character arc requirements fulfilled, more objectives and an extremely strong boss would appear. I'm... honestly so glad it's not the case. Among the starting horsemen, there is this piece of crap. Broadhead arrows. That could spell the end of Alvina's beautiful steed... Can't let that happen! Though to be fair, the sidequests probably make this feel further into the story than it would be without them... but all the same. Perhaps things take a darker feeling because you're largely put on the defensive thus far, whereas in games where you're aggressively pushing back the enemy lines (Shadow Dragon, Sacred Stones and Shadows of Valentia being prime examples) there's a triumphant feeling. Whereas here, you're robbed of that by the constant reminder no matter how much you do, Volcens will find a way to fuck it all up. It's mostly that and ensuring DK doesn't kill anyone (He doesn't have the Scythe of Sariel because Killer Knuckles OP) or the reinforcements turn 3 that have consistently been a thorn in my side playing this chapter. Turns out that unlike with player characters, allied units getting captured actually does actually does result in all their stuff in the enemy's inventory. It also made them dropable, so by killing the guy I got some free super bolts out of it. I don't see Arkis anywhere, and I am very glad for that! It's interesting how counter this war is running compared to the usual Fire Emblem experience. We're 68 updates in, and the situation is continously getting worse storywise with no end in sight despite the players efforts. Though to be fair, the sidequests probably make this feel further into the story than it would be without them... but all the same. Perhaps things take a darker feeling because you're largely put on the defensive thus far, whereas in games where you're aggressively pushing back the enemy lines (Shadow Dragon, Sacred Stones and Shadows of Valentia being prime examples) there's a triumphant feeling. Whereas here, you're robbed of that by the constant reminder no matter how much you do, Volcens will find a way to fuck it all up. Yeah, I agree. Being a computer, it lacks emotion, but thanks to this practice it also lacks a truely unbiased world-view. This ultimately resulted in the "Operation Galactic Storm" storyline in 1992... where said computer manipulated events to cause a war between the Kree and another race called the Shi'ar, and to cause the Shi'ar to drop a nega-bomb on the Kree throneworld... killing 98% of the Kree. Why? The computer had came to the conclusion the Kree were at an evolutionary dead end. It literally decided the survivors of planet wide cataclysm would be able to breed a new superior race. Last I knew, the Kree had destroyed the computer... albeit later.... much later. After unrelated events. Notably, they became a lot less dickish without it. You know, all this talk of supercomputers gone haywire reminds me of a certain supercomputer. I'm forgetting its name right now, but I know that it followed humanity's every command and was overall very nice and amicable, and it led to an everlasting era of world peace and prosperity. If you give Dean the Muscle Brace from Chapter 2 and give him the hit +20 food, he can easily reach 100% hitrate on Vengeful, with an 84% proc chance. Although you do still have to worry about Chaos's ~12% crit, it's unlikely enough that you can do it pretty damn reliably. Or you could just kill Faye. But that's the easy way out. I absolutely intend to do the Leticia Event next time I play the game. Even if I don't like Volo, just the first scene of the Leticia event is interesting enough that I'd like to see more. Yeah, they kinda dropped the ball on Dean after his recruitment event. You don't get much out of him beyond his first appearance, that event, and his promotion, then his ending happens. At least he and Izerna can be interesting together. I would've expected more, to be honest. So many other characters get some build-up, but he just jumps to the end of his character development before he even, y'know, develops. I'm doing Chapter 2 of my BWS ironman later today. The way she is now, I would pin her down as a fair bit younger then Rosalie and Bianca. So she would have been pretty helpless back then.
