The one regret was not being able to bring Dorothea/Manuela so I could get the Opera Volunteers, because dancing gambit is balanced.

Edelgard also got 1-shot by Locura because if you have to lead the armies ending the war might as well lead by example and execute the top ruler yourself.

It's definitely a fun time. While killing Chaos with Dean can be scary, if you rig for the Hit +20 food and have used him somewhat regularly in the first two chapters, he should have no problem reaching 100 hit with Vengeance. The 13 crit just stops it from being reliable, as not getting the 84% Vengeance proc only means a lost Vulnerary use. Or you could just kill Faye / get her captured in 2-2, but that's not as fun. Plus, 5 happiness is a much nicer requirement than Volo's orignal 12.

Survivor's guilt is definitely the cause, though I don't think it affects Bas nearly as much as it does Celina - she probably takes hers out on him because he wasn't with them, when both were really just lucky to not die.

Impossible Dream is one of my favorite missions in the game, though it doesn't quite crack top 5 (12-1, 9-M, 14-M, 3-M, 5-M) for me. It captures some of the "magic" of the game really well in how the gameplay and presentation really fit the story. Plus, the map theme is just incredible. Still dunno why the only other time it plays is when Burroughs and Klamp are getting drunk in a bar.

Chapter 3 went surprisingly well apart from a single major fuck-up. I accidentally waited with Christine when I was going to clear Agvan's Battle Cry, but I screwed it up and Ward had to step in. The thing is, I forgot to equip his shield, and if he didn't land a retaliatory strike with the Knight Sword, he would've died and given me a Game Over on the next turn. Everything else went well, though. Garos waited on a cliff tile, leading to his death by Sylvis and Christine. Might have been my best run of the chapter so far.

It's why the game displays 3 different avoid values.

The first is for physical attacks at range 0 to 1.
The second is for magic attacks at range 0 to 1.
And the third is for physical AND magic attacks at range 2 or higher

Magic only ignores terrain up to range 1. Once it's 2 or more, it suffers the same penalty as physical attacks under the same conditions.

The good ending requires all five orbs to complete the binding shield. Astram neither has a starshard nor is required for an orb at any point. Not only that, to recruit him you have to drag Jeorge's fallen off ass through chapter 16. All to get a worse version of Samson and the Mercurius 14~ chapters later.

There's literally no incentive to keeping Astram alive. It's amazing.

Not really, but with Stride, there's no risk, no opportunity cost, no nothing. Stride isn't even limited, you get two charges per battalion every map. Anyway, Stride's dangerously close to Seth levels of OP, and that's not right, I think. I mean, true, you can elect not to use it, but still... I think a higher leadership level, or restricting it to just one charge per level, or making Stride battalions rarer, would make the thing less broken while remaining fun to use.

That being said, Stride's nowhere near being one of 3H's biggest problems. I'd take busted Stride over the shitty maps.

...Okay, look. In case you didn't know, in FE6 this guy is a generic serving under Lord Arcardo of Etruria. He was a route-exclusive boss, so he wasn't encountered in the canon timeline of the LP. Albertus canonically killed Arcardo, but Morgan never knew that, because a while before that a different OC supposedly killed Morgan. Then the TRS fanfic villain picked the clown up and took him along to get revenge on the whole OC gang. Morgan appeared in two updates and instantly got presumed dead again. Then Pretzel picked him up as well and brought him into this LP because I find Morgan to be really funny. He died in two updates again. Then he turned out to not be dead. Again.

Soo... Yeah. He's basically just a joke. A dig at extremely generic FE one-off bosses without a personality. Heck, in the TRS LP I made a point to edit his portrait for every single unimportant bad guy. And now he's part of the OC squad. Now watch him die in two updates again.

It's definitely a fun time. While killing Chaos with Dean can be scary, if you rig for the Hit +20 food and have used him somewhat regularly in the first two chapters, he should have no problem reaching 100 hit with Vengeance. The 13 crit just stops it from being reliable, as not getting the 84% Vengeance proc only means a lost Vulnerary use. Or you could just kill Faye / get her captured in 2-2, but that's not as fun. Plus, 5 happiness is a much nicer requirement than Volo's orignal 12.

Well, there's always the possibility of getting a map save at the right time to savescum Chaos.

Survivor's guilt is definitely the cause, though I don't think it affects Bas nearly as much as it does Celina - she probably takes hers out on him because he wasn't with them, when both were really just lucky to not die.

Impossible Dream is one of my favorite missions in the game, though it doesn't quite crack top 5 (12-1, 9-M, 14-M, 3-M, 5-M) for me. It captures some of the "magic" of the game really well in how the gameplay and presentation really fit the story. Plus, the map theme is just incredible. Still dunno why the only other time it plays is when Burroughs and Klamp are getting drunk in a bar.

Agreed on all of this. Although I'm not quite sure how my top 5 would look like. 12-1 and 15 are definitely up there. I dunno, I love most of this game's missions. Only exceptions are the snow map, and... I'll probably hate 11-1 after the Ironman. That's... about all I can come up with, really. Everything else ranges from "eh, tolerable" to "oh my God this is the best game ever".

I had a feeling something similar would happen, though my prediction excluded the doppelganger. Ah well, you can't win against Gharnef.

Chapter 3 went surprisingly well apart from a single major fuck-up. I accidentally waited with Christine when I was going to clear Agvan's Battle Cry, but I screwed it up and Ward had to step in. The thing is, I forgot to equip his shield, and if he didn't land a retaliatory strike with the Knight Sword, he would've died and given me a Game Over on the next turn. Everything else went well, though. Garos waited on a cliff tile, leading to his death by Sylvis and Christine. Might have been my best run of the chapter so far.

For a while this was starting to sound eerily similar to my own experience. Except you weren't dumb and didn't assume Agvan was stationary. Unlike a certain someone...

This is it. The most underused map theme in the entire game. Only ever plays here. Why it doesn't play in both desert maps, at least, is beyond me.

Here's the troops we'll bring. Faramir is here for the happiness. If not him I would've brought Sherpa, so... Meh. I guess we can endure the edgelord. As thanks for saving Faye all those times, if you will. As for Axel, this may seem like the worst kind of map for him, but I need a searcher. Might as well bring the one who could help a bit in combat.

This is what we're dealing with. There's a bunch of brigands on both hills, but they won't leave them. There's items to be found on both of them, however, as well as a bounty. And experience, of course! We'll want to get our hands on all.

Also, wyverns. Yes, that's right. 5 wyverns. Four windwyrms (called just "wyvern"), one flamewyrm.

Wyverns are weak to Perceval, which is why I'm hoping this'll be Perceval's redemption map. Flamewyrm is weak to wind, but while Aegina would be very useful for this, well... It's just one guy. Perceval with the basic wind orb and Sherlock with freeze arrows should be able to handle it. Now watch as I regret this.

Well, let's have it then.

Somewhere in this land, a sword lies trapped in slumber. Seek it out! Take care that you are not caught in the paths of the gods as they lay judgment upon the barbarians. Their gentle nature turns to rage when faced with defiance.

This is hinting at a mechanic to keep this map from being absurdly hard. We'll see soon enough.

Anyway, here's the gimmick I mentioned back in the intro cutscene: when the wyverns fight, they are inflicted with the confused status effect. Confused acts like traditional FE berserk - the unit afflicted by it will randomly attack any nearby units. The wyrms have very erratic AI, so it's as likely for them to go after us and after their own caretakers. Because of this, we'll want to down them fast, but if we fail, there's always the possibility that they'll help us.

Hoo, boy... There comes the flamewyrm. Why must they take the most inconvenient routes possible? I have to say, after playing so much FE12 lunatic, I'm a bit thrown off by this game's more erratic AI. You pretty much always know what the AI's going to do in FE12, but not here! It's not a bad thing, per se, it's just weird to me, playing the two games back-to-back.

Eyy, that looks like a clean kill! I mean... As long as Perceval can make this work.

It's already impressive enough that Adel's getting used in the lategame, with Leon gone to boot. Most people would've benched him a while ago already. And now, it's time for the main reason I brought Axel here. There's four items to find in this desert. They're all located on the bones. Let's go.

Thor is hilarious.

x2 cripple on top of 25 magical attack means you can assume someone who gets hit will be crippled. Thor has no weaknesses to any magic type and deals counter damage to anyone who tries using physical attacks.

This boss fight has the potential to be unwinnable, but there's a way out - see the stairs to the side? We can use those to leave the cavern.

Axel cannot pull the sword. If he tries, as seen in this screenshot I took in an alternate timeline, this message will pop up.

So let's have Faye try it instead.

...This wasn't necessary, actually. Axel wasn't in any immediate danger, thanks to the bush. I should've had Faye pull the sword first, in case Thor crippled her. But I was too afraid for my man Axel's life.

So now we risk losing our chance to get the sword entirely. Thor uses the same music as the rest of the wyverns. Kinda anticlimatic, I know.

I... don't think that's how perspective works. The stairs were a bit to the left of where Axel and Faye fell, but they lead way to the southeast of the entrance. Sure, whatever you say, Berwick Saga.

Thankfully, Thor is a yellow unit, so his turns are a bit weird. Thus, I get to heal Faye.

Time that I used extremely poorly by putting all my troops on the opposite side of the escape point. Beating Thor wins the map, but of course, that's not exactly what I'd call a guaranteed outcome. I should've been safe and set this up so I could escape at any point.

...Then again, Axel would never have made it in time, so... Meh.

Faye will once again act as a sacrificial lamb. The plan is to use Enid. Because I am a terminal fucking dumbass, I didn't have Perceval give her the divine brace. Y'know, yet again.

In the absolute darkness, Faramir returns to excuse himself from the army so he can carry Faye's bloody mess to the abbey. Yet again.

Not his fault you never accounted for him facing a double terrain penalty. Going from no terrain penalty at 0-1 range to double terrain penalty at 2 range is not insignificant, even with the small avoid boosts that most terrain gives.

Well, if nothing else it should be possible to have Sylvis and Esteban hide in there after poking a wyvern. That way they would get confused with only other enemies in range. Consequently, hilarity should ensue.

Behold the only time in the game this mechanic is used. You would think at this point the Mission Screen would add some game hints, but nope.

Besides the menu, it's also possible to switch by pressing L2 or by clicking on the entrance/exit of the cave. The game actually tells you about L2 early on when explaining what the buttons do during the combat maps.
It's probably save to say that this mechanic was meant to see more usage. You don't go through all that trouble for some dumb side map. Maybe they felt it just overcomplicates things.

Also, obligatory "Kaga did Advance Wars: Dual Strike first". Except Dual Strike sucks. I mean, it's not a bad game per se. But everything good about it was already in Advance Wars 2. Everything that Dual Strike added is garbage. Especially everything related to the "Dual" theme.

That might be for the best actually. Yeah, Axel is hidden. But he can't reach the stairs in 1 turn. And sending him out first, while Thor is still in the North Eastern corner, wouldn't work because Thor will only take his turn if a player unit is down here. So when someone without Hide drops down there, Thor will be able to blast them before they have a chance to do anything.
Of course that's assuming you don't actually try and fight Thor. Which I'd assume you won't because there would be no reason to go for the sword first if you plan to kill Thor anyway. In that case, you would only send units down who are actually useful in fight him, so that Thor can't go ham on the squishies in your party.

If you were going to rely on crits, you should probably have brought some Killer Arrows and Killer Bows. Killer Arrows alone give +33% crit and the Killer Bow adds another 6%. So you could have a 45% crit chance here instead of only 6%.

Anyway, Stride's dangerously close to Seth levels of OP, and that's not right, I think. I mean, true, you can elect not to use it, but still... I think a higher leadership level, or restricting it to just one charge per level, or making Stride battalions rarer, would make the thing less broken while remaining fun to use.

That being said, Stride's nowhere near being one of 3H's biggest problems. I'd take busted Stride over the shitty maps.

I don't disagree about the limitations needing to be higher, I wonder why the conclusion was two times, it's not like there's no support gambits with 1 use.

There's only two battalions with it total: That E rank one (which yeah, heh I think a simple nerf could be to reduce that one's range) and the one from Sylvain's paralogue.

Well, I mentioned it in the status, but I did it. I actually cleared a Maddening playthrough.

I have a feeling I'd actually not rank it half as hard as NMotE or Conquest Lunatic (Reunion at Dawn aside because FUCK Reunion at Dawn), I've seen what they're like. No grind would be more comparable, but you could still probably have the relevant units up to snuff imo. And of course what you have to play with is huge. I think I'm good until DLC goes on sale at least.

Now what to play until Winter ends? At this rate I could end up trying to play Switch TWEWY again, and if you don't understand the mental anguish that inflicts you have never tried Joy-con mode. What's worse is that as someone who actually has finished the original, I'm dying at the thought of using the Switch control scheme just to see stuff they added to this version. And I wasn't good at the far better controls, so I'm scared.

Aside from gaming there's seeming attempts to get the board of experts for covid removed here. Just, some people really think they know it all and can theorise and conspire as they see fit because they're insulated from the consequences. *sigh

That with Killer Arrows would've been perfect to use on Thor. Statistically, you'll land at least 3 crits on average (so long as the shots hit).

Cleared 4-M in the ironman this past weekend. I nearly got Leon killed in trying to kill Laurus for his material - luckily, Laurus is an idiot, and tried to attack Ward, who wasn't even in his range. Adel's at around 14-15 spear skill points (don't remember exactly) already. I have to promote him, just for the meme. I also missed one of the Old. Imp. SShields, but I managed to capture both Troia and the one guy on the map who had an Imp. Knight SShield. Thanks, Apeiron.

Not his fault you never accounted for him facing a double terrain penalty. Going from no terrain penalty at 0-1 range to double terrain penalty at 2 range is not insignificant, even with the small avoid boosts that most terrain gives.

That's true... But it's a bit difficult to go for no terrain penalty when he risks a counter in the process. Still, I'll keep it in mind in the future.

So they can actually be hidden in. And they form a nice line to the cliff where the Wyrmspeaker sits on. I really need to test what happens if you kill him before the wyverns go down. There has to be a bigger reason for hiding this guy on the map besides a free Vanish Stone. Maybe the Wyvern will all turn yellow.

Now I'm curious too. Please don't forget to let us know when you try it.

Well, if nothing else it should be possible to have Sylvis and Esteban hide in there after poking a wyvern. That way they would get confused with only other enemies in range. Consequently, hilarity should ensue.

I did notice him using a Vanishstone. Like I said earlier, I just forgot about him after all the intensity. As for the screenshots... The thing is, I don't look at my screenshots while I'm playing. I play the whole chapter first, then I write the update afterwards. Evidently, I felt rather dumb when I realized I had forgotten about him.

His statement is still technically true. I don't know how much I should pay someone to fight Thor, but it's definitely far, far more than 0D.

Behold the only time in the game this mechanic is used. You would think at this point the Mission Screen would add some game hints, but nope.

Besides the menu, it's also possible to switch by pressing L2 or by clicking on the entrance/exit of the cave. The game actually tells you about L2 early on when explaining what the buttons do during the combat maps.
It's probably save to say that this mechanic was meant to see more usage. You don't go through all that trouble for some dumb side map. Maybe they felt it just overcomplicates things.

Yeah, this is the kind of thing that you make early on in the development, then 1 month from release you realize you never did anything with it, but it's too late now.

Also, obligatory "Kaga did Advance Wars: Dual Strike first". Except Dual Strike sucks. I mean, it's not a bad game per se. But everything good about it was already in Advance Wars 2. Everything that Dual Strike added is garbage. Especially everything related to the "Dual" theme.

Come to think about it... Yeah, give Axel the vanishstone, and then have everyone else escape. That would've been nice.

That might be for the best actually. Yeah, Axel is hidden. But he can't reach the stairs in 1 turn. And sending him out first, while Thor is still in the North Eastern corner, wouldn't work because Thor will only take his turn if a player unit is down here. So when someone without Hide drops down there, Thor will be able to blast them before they have a chance to do anything.
Of course that's assuming you don't actually try and fight Thor. Which I'd assume you won't because there would be no reason to go for the sword first if you plan to kill Thor anyway. In that case, you would only send units down who are actually useful in fight him, so that Thor can't go ham on the squishies in your party.

And then I proceeded to do everything wrong.

A sword so super, it's completely useless against the beast guarding it.

I mean, it'd be kinda dumb if you put a beast to protect a sword, and someone could just use the sword itself to kill it. That'd be like setting up a flamethrower turret to protect a dynamite stash.

Maybe like half of it. The Wyvern can't kill more then one unit per turn and the Cavalry actually outspeeds him. So at least some should be able to survive by making a run for the exit.
Still, even if they all die, it will still count as beating the map because this is Escape and Owen already left the map.

And I also fed him, so he must have something like 2.5 happiness. So one more hiring and feeding should be enough... Of course, there's the possibility that he's only recruited after a main mission, like Thaddy.

If you were going to rely on crits, you should probably have brought some Killer Arrows and Killer Bows. Killer Arrows alone give +33% crit and the Killer Bow adds another 6%. So you could have a 45% crit chance here instead of only 6%.

The Divine Brace would also lower the damage she takes from Thor, so a lower chance of getting crippled.
But why use either of those orbs? You still have 3 charges of Pallas Leia. Obviously each charge is valuable but considering what's at stake here, this is probably not the best time to start hoarding.

But if by any chance you still got the good ending, you can easily record the bad ending by starting the map deploying only Owen, then have him escape on turn 1.

Garon and Volcens aren't particularly comparable. For some reason Xander argues Garon was good once, definitely something you never would hear about Volcens.

As always, I won't try to argue this too much because I'm not too familiar with Fates's story. Still, while there are similarities, like them both being kings of the protagonist's nation (determinant, in Garon's case), I agree that there are also some huge differences. Maybe I'll come back to this comparison when we've finished the game.

I will concede that in fairness, because while the idea that the Agarthans might have taken Nemesis's remains and Frankensteined them or straight up made a Nemesis clone is not impossible, why he doesn't show up in SS annoys me.

And it would be an easy fix: due to them preventing Thales or some other from activating the Javelins, the base isn't blown up, but they fall on the back up plan: UBER PISSED Nemesis.

Versus Rhea gone mad, Rhea gone madder and Edelgard catching these hands, I still prefer this guy as a boss though.

The bigger issue, in my humble opinion, is that Nemesis just... fits SS so much better than Claude. They could've made Rhea a Gotoh instead of having her go mad for no reason at all, and then fight the Church's historic enemy. That's a decent conclusion for the route that is about the Church, I think! But no, Claude gets it instead, even though Claude has absolutely nothing to do with Nemesis.

I have a feeling I'd actually not rank it half as hard as NMotE or Conquest Lunatic (Reunion at Dawn aside because FUCK Reunion at Dawn), I've seen what they're like.

NMotE Lunatic is brilliantly designed, for the most part. I'd go as far as to say even the ambush reinforcements. Ambush reinforcements suck, don't get me wrong, but 99% of the time they come out of forts, so you can pinpoint dangerous areas. Beyond that, though, it's absolutely great. Enemies being offensive powerhouses, but almost as squishy as in the lower difficulties, is the best kind of difficulty.

No grind would be more comparable, but you could still probably have the relevant units up to snuff imo. And of course what you have to play with is huge. I think I'm good until DLC goes on sale at least.

I've only heard bad things about the DLC. But go ahead and give it a try, if you've the money to spare.

Now what to play until Winter ends? At this rate I could end up trying to play Switch TWEWY again, and if you don't understand the mental anguish that inflicts you have never tried Joy-con mode. What's worse is that as someone who actually has finished the original, I'm dying at the thought of using the Switch control scheme just to see stuff they added to this version. And I wasn't good at the far better controls, so I'm scared.

Adel's at around 14-15 spear skill points (don't remember exactly) already. I have to promote him, just for the meme. I also missed one of the Old. Imp. SShields, but I managed to capture both Troia and the one guy on the map who had an Imp. Knight SShield. Thanks, Apeiron.

The max warps you can have is 2 and that is either Bishop or Gremory.

Owen bailing out prematurely has been a recurring problem in this run. There is just little need for a healer that can only be used for the first 20 turns unless the mission specifically requires you to bail out around that time.
In every other scenario, all the healers preform pretty much the same. Except Owen will abandon you eventually.

There's greater importance to Tianna's words here than there may seem, though they're already pretty deep and interesting. Tianna herself is living for an unlikely hope, but is able to worry less about it while she's working for Reese. That's why she seems so depressed when Reese says he's leaving - she's going to be alone again, with her hope to see her missing fiance (seriously, he left for the front lines at Fort Sakiria years before the game's events - either he's going on an Odyssey, or he's very dead) being her only companion. As per her own statement here, it's what's keeping her alive. I suppose you could say she's living for... an Impossible Dream.

Also, fuck, this is depressing. I still hold by my view that Tianna's easily one of the best-written characters Kaga or IS have ever produced - by far. 

Anyway, let's get some ha-ha funnies out now to level out the depression and sadness.

While we are on it, it seems to me like the ability to access a mercenary's inventory through the item list has a very slight happiness lock. Because I only ever notice it at the start of a new game when I haven't hired someone yet.
...or maybe it's just that the list doesn't account for them unless they were hired into the party at least once, even if they still have items from their introduction mission in their inventory.

Replenishing is too cheap. Repairing weapons requires materials, why is it so much easier to repair stride? Make replenishing battalions more expensive based on the battalion. Maybe have them require things to be repaired, too, like weapons. Also could make it so battalions die forever, so you have to be careful with them. Just a few ideas.

The max warps you can have is 2 and that is either Bishop or Gremory.

Oh don't get me wrong, she's broken. It's just a combination of focus on offense and swordmaster class that makes her really brittle. She doubles and murders literally everything, though, so there's that. Yubello also has a ton of speed, even more strength and all the defense in the world, however, so I'd call him a bit better.

This is the one game on the handhelds that I would absolutely not recommend. Unless you really liked playing against Eagle in Advance Wars, I guess. Because that's basically the entire campaign due to "Tag Powers" which allow you to move twice in the row.
And the enemy's tag power gauge basically fills up 3 times as fast as your's because on most maps you control 3 different players with their own tag gauges while you are up against a single Black Hole player that is matched about equal to your combined forces. ...and of course the power gauge still goes up faster for losing units then destroying it.
It's kind of amazing how they made a campaign that's both the easiest and the most obnoxious in the trilogy. Because having your opponent move twice in a row every second turn is just a pain and only delays the inevitable.

I mean, I just want to play Advance Wars and not be stuck in an endless stalemate sooner or later. I've tried three games and in all three it has happened.

Owen bailing out prematurely has been a recurring problem in this run.

Uh... Not really? I can count the amount of times Owen bailing out has been a real problem with the fingers of one hand. 90% of the maps are either over or only clean-up is left by the time turn 20 arrives. Usually what fucks me is the fact that I'm awful, not Owen.

There is just little need for a healer that can only be used for the first 20 turns unless the mission specifically requires you to bail out around that time.
In every other scenario, all the healers preform pretty much the same. Except Owen will abandon you eventually.

I don't know, I still think you underestimate Owen's abilities and overestimate how crippling the turn 20 bail is. Almost every orb in the game at base, occassional offensive utility, best magic and light level bases... That's all pretty good stuff. And like I said, unless you're a slowpoke, in most maps you won't even need him after turn 20 - Heck, I'm a slowpoke and there's been, like, two times in this whole LP where I was like "well damn I sure could use a healer right about now".

Then again... Just like I do Izerna, to be honest. Level 6 is quite early for Expert, it's perfectly possible to get her to physic level around the time Owen arrives. I don't see her catching up to him in stats any time soon, but promotion helps with that, and that awesome orb she gets gives her her own brand of unique utility.

I don't know, I just think all the healers are good and it's probably fine to use any of them. Can we at least agree to that? Heck, it's probably for the best to use all of them. I'm just too stubborn. As you should know, by now.

Design and character-wise Owen wins big time, though. There's no way you can deny that... Right?

Maybe it's the Sol sword. You know, the sword given to Runan, the lord of Razelia. Not sure how it would end up here, but I would imagine the name Raze Empire wasn't pulled out off a head.

There's greater importance to Tianna's words here than there may seem, though they're already pretty deep and interesting. Tianna herself is living for an unlikely hope, but is able to worry less about it while she's working for Reese. That's why she seems so depressed when Reese says he's leaving - she's going to be alone again, with her hope to see her missing fiance (seriously, he left for the front lines at Fort Sakiria years before the game's events - either he's going on an Odyssey, or he's very dead) being her only companion. As per her own statement here, it's what's keeping her alive. I suppose you could say she's living for... an Impossible Dream.

Also, fuck, this is depressing. I still hold by my view that Tianna's easily one of the best-written characters Kaga or IS have ever produced - by far. 

That's pretty awesome. I'd thought about it, myself.

I agree about Tianna. She's the unsung protagonist of this game. She may not be playable like Reese and Ward, but she's no less of a badass for it.

Ward seems to act like everything is madness. He's not necessarily wrong, but I feel like he'd be used to it by now.

Everything is madness in Ward's book. Except people barging into the office at night. That's just grounds for execution in his book.

I love seeing the less serious side of Ward. He's usually more level-headed or incredulous, so to see him just drink and have fun is a nice occasion. 

It's moments like this that make me like Ward. You'd think he's just a run-of-the-mill advisor type, but by the end of the game you've gotten a pretty broad image of the guy. He's a good character.

This is one aspect where I feel Vestaria fell rather short. Both Eugen and Ward are absolutely great for different reasons. Garlan, on the other hand, feels like just a slightly watered down version of Augustus. Oh, well.

I like how you used the textboxes to hide Esteban completely behind the tree after the first panel. 

Well it wasn't exactly my intention, but it worked out in my favor!

The team. I learned on the other thread that apparently you can bench Ward? Not sure how, since every time I try to move him the game just tells me "no man, you can't move Ward from the second spot". I guess I have to go to the army menu and make him inactive or something. Not that I'd want to. Why would you bench the Endgame Beard?

W-Whoa! Whatever happened to the map? Well, a fellow Berwick player posted some map pics, and I noticed they were much better than mine, so I asked him for his graphical settings. Turns out, a bit of upscaling makes the already serviceable maps look absolutely gorgeous! Images this large wouldn't work for the whole LP, but I think I'll do this for every remaining map shot.

Anyway, the map. We have to defend the green flag. The initial opposition is... downright pathetic, to the point where they don't even give us much experience because they're underleveled. These are only the elites, though - around turn 20, the entirely ordinary men will arrive. That's when we'll want to get the hell outta dodge, as the escape point will appear in turn 20, on the flag. Still, there's really not that much to this map. Like I said last update, this is the calm before the storm.

Today's tactics points are ones we care about... Mostly because they're easy, so might as well. One is for clearing, another is for escaping at turn 22 or later, and for all three, you gotta escape at turn 24. This is extremely easy to accomplish so long as you have a Hide user, so I'll take the points when the time comes.
