While that's happening, I start to deal with Lloyd. He's really scary. 82-ish avoid, 1-2 range and high crit rates in melee. Technically, I can make him move by having Nino talk to him, but that would result in death. Instead, I will pull a H5 Shadow Dragon maneuver and break his weapon!

Anyways, that's basically all that's going until...

I hecking trigger more reinforcements by accident.

And after only a bajillion turns, we finished off the wyverns!

Harken heroically charges at the valkyries! Misses all around. He gets more skilled to remedy this!

Pent replaces Canas in breaking weapons so that Canas can hopefully stop heartbreak.

And fortunately, nothing else happens; just hand axes and Canases.

Even though I dislike this game, it still, in my opinion, tries to integrate characters into the main plot more than any other FE, barring Shadows of Valentia. Granted, they only do it once in the game, but they actually comitted to it, which is kinda cool.

Around 30 lines of dialogue that amount to "Now you can promote Hector! But after about 20 minutes of text."

Also, Eligood in all his glory.

That's not that big of a difference when you look at Pent's bases.

Well, FE6 is a lot harder in a normal circmstance. FE7 is kicking me around right now, but that's partially due to the terrible start of the run.

Honestly, that'd be preferable to S tomes. S tomes is, like, 5 hit and the ability to use a super spell for 4 turns. In dark magic's case the super spell isn't even good, because it's not Luna!

And the S rank Sword/Axe that have a grand total of up to three enemies to hit!

I made about eight save states right here so that I never have to do this again. Thank St. Elimine, we're saved! That was 3, 000+ screenshots of resets right there, finally done. In comparison, the second longest chapter in terms of screenshots was Battle Before Dawn...

At ~900. It wasn't even close.

Nevertheless, while not as hilarious as Roy, I find HHM Hector to be pretty damn horrible. Especially when you consider his promotion is arguably worse than Roy's. Roy gets one move, at least. Hector remains stuck at 5 and only gets D swords, which is completely useless that late into the game.

So! In the bottom room I had Pent, Canas, Florina and Harken. Pent has the warp staff, so you see what's happening next. If I can get a one-turn boss kill, this map SHOULD be pretty easy.

I know that every time you give a unit a stat booster, they die, but this will be fine, because these help with durability. I'm not off my rocker anymore, don't worry. Time to shop!

We load up on killer and silver bows for Wil, Killer and silvers for everyone who uses lances, a lancereaver for Lyn, Silver swords for Eligood and arena for Nino! I also stocked up on magic stuff, elixirs and pure waters.

Sorry about the really low-quality update; it should get better from here on out, though, because HOOOOOO boy, was Victory or Death an adventure. It was pretty hard for these two because they were really boring. Well, Pent aside. And there won't be as much chef Boy-Ar-Dee or Pingu. I promise.

It would probably be better to just enemy phase with the sword, as I don't think you can get anyone close enough to trade switch her weapon. Still I don't like those odds...

Yep, I'm honestly perfectly okay with this one having nothing to it in terms of mooks. The boss is rather strong, though.

Yep. Since this was my umpteenth try on this map, I'd figured out by then that Canas' near invulnerability to status staves and Pent's solid chances to dodge would have made it okay.

As a side note, it figures you deploy all your best units in the death chamber there. Hopefully they all manage to make it out alive...(unlike my ironman on this map.)

Oof, seems the death chamber claims its first victim. Yeah my Pent died in that chamber too back in my FE7 ironman...Also the death of the Warp staff is going to make Victory or Death a lot more interesting (especially if you are going for the gaiden)

I can't imagine that this game has anything worse than Cog of Destiny to throw at me. Besides, I think that Victory or Death really is sieze, so I can Florinaskip if I have to.

Why would you actively punish players for trying to reach the end of the map quickly when there's a time limit?

Hector's not gonna use 1-2 range so that fewer can attack him.

Next up on the chopping block for getting Hector to the throne in time is Geitz. It's not going off to a good start at all. But he should at least get three or four to attack him, if nothing else.

All the legenday weapons have monikers like that: Durandal the Blazing Blade, Armads the Thunder Axe, Forblaze the Infernal Truth, Aureolo the Glorius Ascension, Mulagir the Bow of Swift Winds, Maltet the Spear of Ice, and Appocalypse the Elder Revelation. Fun fact I went out of my way to have my tactician in the FE6 Succession game only refer to them by those monikers, never by their name.

Fun fact I went out of my way to have my tactician in the FE6 Succession game only refer to them by those monikers, never by their name.

remember, the game doesn't tell you to get Nils to level 7, tell you to kill kishuna, tell you to get 700 xp in a map where a green unit solos half of it, and the game doesn't tell you there's a prize for going quickly in the second to last chapter where reinforcements come for a long time and give a lot of juicy xp.
