In which games / situations are status affecting staves useful?

Well, then I must be confusing Silence with Rescue. 😂

I tell you that since the fucking Azama is so far away, I do not consider Silencing him (and it seems that it is not even possible anyway 🙃 .)
I do use one Silence charge in the Sorcerers’s Room of Chapter 26, to ease the maths (I have seen a Maid Elise with a Sorcerer pair-up, Tome Breaker, Votive Candle and like 956 Luck and 714 Res getting killed by this gang.)

By “worst offender” I meant to say  that Azama was the “most dangerous hexer.” I am indifferent to his character, and even find it funny sometimes.

Azama is in the same location in both Hard and Lunatic. I have never played it on Normal, though.
He does get two Hexing staves in Lunatic.
