Hi qewe. I know this game is old... but I just start playing it. Jm very enjoy anything about it.

After know that corderlia cant get support with Chrom although she idol him too much, I start to think who is a best match for every unit.That they are really like each others (but dont touch the canon couples). I read alot online, wiki, forrum, video analyze  v..v... I think :

- Chrom x Sumia : 1. they're holding a baby(lucina) together in the opening, 2. The cutscene when Sumia save Chrom video is called "Lovebirds". 3. Sumia, Cordelia really love Chrom, but only Sumia have support to him ( I think Cordelia and Sumia is friend, but Cordelia know my friend love Chrom, so she give up chasing chrom ) . 4. The scene when Sumia slap Chrom, I think she have more scenes with Chrom then another girls ( except F.Robin )

- Lissa x Lon'qu : 1. Oswain is really look like Lon'qu  ( except his personality ) , 2. Lon'qu is a cool swordmaster like masked Lucina ( withLissa used to crush on ), 3. Oswain class is not match with his mother ( Lissa ). But if his father is Lon'qu, everything is solved.

- Robin x Tharja ( not sure ) : I read wiki that Tharja always love Robin in this life or any other lifes. In fate, she is Rhajat, and Robin is Corrin. She still love them ( M/F.Corrin ). Just hope she can get who she love.

Virion x Maribelle : I think this is the best ending for him. Beause Maribelle treats people in his village well, and people gradually forgive him. I have a full list now, hope to see your idea.

 

Miriel x Donnel ( Donnel is a quich learner, he is interesting in Miriel things too )

Olivia x Virion ( she say Virion is dreamy. She is kind of romantic person. So I think Virion romantic words is best for her ears)

Cordelia x Stahl ( they both like music and play it together, hope Stahl can help Cordelia forget Chrom )

Nowi x Henry ( Nowi is very playful. I think Henry can handle that )

Cherche x Libra ( their support conversations is stupid for me. But see Cherche reclasses (cleric,troubasour), I think she would get along with Libra who a Monk )

Sumia x Chrom ( dont like it, but the opening they hold the baby together )

Panne x Kellam/Gregor

Chrom x Olivia by a thousand leagues. 
-Chrom and Olivia get a special flashback that actually references the “in his heart he knew who it would be” text 

-Chrom and Olivia are both awkward and shy and their C-A supports include them crushing and being shy, and working past that to have a relationship 
-Olivia admits in the flashback that she is in love with Chrom but is willing to swallow her feelings. This means canonically, Olivia is in love with Chrom (as this takes place before Chrom courts her, and it explains their awkward exchanges) 

-Inigo looks exactly like Chrom especially with blue hair. He also is the only other kid to have the Brand (except Lucina and Owain) 

-Inigo is characterized by his low self confidence and esteem, a trait that is heavy handed in Lucina’s sibling support, which also has the scene of the sibling being scared of bugs (which Inigo is) 

-When Inigo’s dad dies, the whole army is distraught and looks to Inigo to be a crutch. Why does Inigo’s outlook matter? Why did Inigo’s father matter so much? If he’s the prince it makes sense. 
 

-little known fact outside of awkaening fans, Inigo directly states he Got  his flirtatiousness from his mom. It’s more tied to his low self esteem and shyness than anything else (which writes off why virion is a popular candidate) 

-The Queen is someone who makes ylisse very happy and they love her. Olivia fits this role best as they say she tours the land dancing, mending the people. They love her. Others don’t have this element. 

 

my personal favorites outside of that one:

Stahl and Sully-the riders can’t help but love this 

Lon’Qu and Lissa-Owain’s naming scheme has the 2 syllable names everyone from Lon’Qu region has. (Lon’Qu SayRi yeen day, Owain is pronounced o’wain) Owain also Wears the fur gloves. 

Vaike and Cordelia-The kinda screw. Up fun “teach” who can’t ever beat Chrom and the genius prodigy. Chrom’s best friend and a woman who loves him teaming up to take him down, in order to make him stronger. (Plus I ship Severa and Inigo and this makes Chrom, Vaike, and Cordelia all in the same family group) 

Henry and Miriel-Not one of the best but I love it idk. 
 

Libra and Tharja-pure monk and dark mage teaming up. Also Libra being a pushover fits imo Noire’s father support. 
 

Frederick and Sumia-Bonding over how happy Frederick is that she can protect Chrom. Chrom’s retainers basically both obsessed with his safety more than their own but also has Sumia as the sceew up and Frederick seeming so perfect, but not a “I’ll make you better” scene it’s “I don’t care if you mess up” and I love it. 
 

Gauis and Nowi-He loves candy and she looks like a kid but he likes her personality eventually. Not my favorite but one of the few with her I can get behind. 

Kellam and Panne-She notices him! Always! And he wants to fight with her to get stronger? Kellam shows a lot of personality aside from being invisible 

Virion and Cherche-it is obvious but I like it anyway 

Donnell and Mariabelle-Proper uptown woman and a southern kinda guy. I like this cliche. And she’s teaching him to be proper instead if the man asserting his values; but they both bond through it. 

Robin and Lucina-Eh it’s kinda weird and a bit obvious but I still like it sorry. 
 

Inigo and Severa-Sleazy merc and grumpy girl who wins him over and sees he’s more than a sleazy merc. 
 

honestly those are my only powerful gen 2 ships. 
maybe Owain and Cynthia, Laurent and Noire, Brady and Kjelle. But I’m not 100% set yet

Great! another secret love for Chrom beside Sumia, cordelia, Maribelle(she admit in conversation with Chrom).

Stahl and Sully; really cute, Sully want strong type, Stahl is growing everyday stronger than her, then surpass her. But he still respect her.

Cordelia: idk, I really want her to have a perfect mate that she can love again.

I match Henry x Nowi, cause henry is fun. that can go well with Nowi. She is very playful

Kellam and Panne: we have same though about this ^^

Now I think about it.  Chrom x Olivia  sound like a good match 😉

About child pairs, I havent watch it yet, Im matching their parents. But now I think I should give it a look 🙂

hehe, I like to pair up Inigo and Azura in fates and I just headcanon that that Inigo is Chrom’s son, so I can see Chrom and Azuras family merging. But idk I still really like Inigo and Severa so that’s a hard choice.

Tsundere severa is really cute ^^. But I like Azura more, cause Inigo and Azura both are prince and princess, 1 sing, 1 dance. actually I think azura can dance too, that is so romantic .

Still now, I still cant find perfect match for Miriel. I chose Donnel. When he support with Miriel, he kinda interesting in what Miriel saying. He's also a quick learner too, so he can clearly understand what she said. I think just few units understand what she said : Virion, Henry , Robin??

Not exactly, Cordelia specifically stated to Severa before she left that she had to go protect what was most precious to her which Severa interperets as her dying for Chrom when the truth of the matter is likely a lot more complicated than that. From what I can tell, Cordelia died trying to fight for a brighter future one where her daughter could grow up safe and happy. Though we all know how that turned out. You can also maybe say that Cordelia’s old feelings for Chrom resurfaced after her husband had died but that’s just headcanon and speculation at that point. If you want my opinion on the best Severa romance supports, then you should go with:

SeveraxOwain: it’s just a really sweet support that really shows Severa’s tsundere at her best. 
 

SeveraxInigo: another really good one that very subtly shows how low each of their self-esteems are. Though I feel it’s more apparent on Severa’s end. It’s cute sweet and just works all around.

SeveraxRobin: by far her best romance support in the entire game because it’s like the only one that actually delves into her inferiority complex and explains in detail why she acts the way she does. It’s good.

That’s fair! Severe interpreting it that way kinda shows Cordelia still had some feelings but not the same move as before. Now she genuinely moved on for her family. That’s beautiful thanks for reminding me! 
 

robin has some good ships. I can’t pick a favorite but I default to Lucina.

I really like Olivia x Virion. It also makes sense since my headcanon is that Inigo is Virion’s son. They have so much in common: similar voices, similar hair (in Fates, Laslow’s hair color is very close to Virion’s, but less blue), they both love tea, they’re both flirts.

I married Lissa and Donnel; they’re very cute together. Although in my headcanon, Owain is Vaike’s son. They both have spiky blond hair and larger than life attitudes. I can definitely picture Lissa and Vaike raising a son with such an eccentric and theatrical personality. 

As annoying as Henry is, I could see him and Nowi being a cute couple. I see Henry as Noire’s father. I really like how Noire looks with fair hair, despite her name, and it would explain all too much about her personality.

I also don’t like Chrom and Sumia. From a canon perspective, they probably are a couple, for all the reasons you said. Truth be told, I don’t like any of Sumia’s marriage options much. I wish I could’ve married her to Stahl or Kellam. I married Sumia to Gaius, since he was the most tolerable option that wasn’t taken by someone else. Also, Cynthia looks very cute as a redhead. It fits her peppy personality.

I married Chrom myself, and I married Cordelia to Stahl. I really like Chrom x Cordelia, though. I enjoy seeing Cordelia marry the man of her dreams, and I love the idea of Severa and Lucina being sisters. Not only does Severa feel like she has to measure up to her mother, but also her father and her sister—she would have one heck of a one-way sibling rivalry with Lucina.

Sorry to break this to you, but that would be Sumia. While they've never made an official announcement, it's pretty obvious. 

They have prior interaction, the first time we see Sumia she saves Chrom and they even have a CG, which I beleive is called, "love birds". Chrom and Sumia have the highest support growth, and, most of all, in the opeing movie to Awakening we can see Sumia standing beside Chrom holding a baby Lucina in her arms. As much as I'd prefer it be someone else, it's pretty obvious who IS picked.

Inigo’s initial design is heavily based on marth. Blue (and yellow) hair, shorts, a cape. 
bis birthday is the day Shafow dragon released. Only other characters to reference Marth in birthday is Lucina and Owain (related to Chrom) 

inigo is the only potential sibling to have a brand 

 

and, Chrom and Olivia is hinted at in Fates, references heavily in warriors, and even heroes gives more to Olivia than Sumia, plus other than robin who is typically shown as male, Olivia is Chrom’s most popular ship in the knights of Iris polling book where the “official popularity” graphic we still see today comes from. 

moreso, most agree that Chrom and Olivia has actual good dialogue, the confession scene and the chapter 11 text matches up with Chrom saying “I’ll follow my heart” then chapter 11 saying “he knew in his heart who it should be” (not “he was already engaged anyway”, as the dialogue strongly insinuated he wasn’t) 

 

and the siblings, inigo is characterized by self doubt; as Lucina’s sibling is  inigo compares himself to Chrom and Lucina, as Lucina’s sibling does  

the role and supports simply don’t fit Cynthia‘a character 

 

but whoever the character is, they take on inigos traits. Both the timid and showy and flashy side, as well as the self doubt and false confident side. 
 

plus, Olivia has scenes with Chrom (end of 10, escorting him out of Plegia, discussing his plans when they regroup while everyone else gets one like Olivia games a full Convi, beginning of chapter 11 she joins despite not being much of a fighter) and then he married. They put in a lot of Olivia content right before the wedding chapter, and she’s the last person t talk to him before that battle and in the (I think it’s called the midmire fortress?) 

 

so acting like Chrom and Olivia is a nothing ship, or like Chrom and Sumia is “canon” because it has one CG is very reductive because there is a lot more surrounding Chrom and Olivia than one cutscene, including but not limited to the in game interactions, and the supports for the full family (like how inigos dad yells in the B support and it’s the same time as Chrom in the sibling C support) 

 

but also I was saying “as I said” because in this topic I mentioned about popularity and ship-ness. The ship. 
and it’s fair to say Chrom and Olivia is the ship because it’s the one that won the popularity contest (except robin who again, typically shown as male)

I mean we still shouldn’t discount those cutscenes either. Pre-rendered cutscenes take time and effort to produce and are used sparingly for a reason. So the fact that Chrom and Sumia have two of them together one of which is titled “Love birds” is pretty telling as to what the developers were intending. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Inigo was originally meant to be Sumia’s kid and not Olivia but then Cynthia became a thing. Even so, Cynthia’s character still kinda fits with Lucina’s sibling supports. The C and B specifically feel more in line with her character than Inigo’s at least in my opinion.

Personally, I find both ships fit just fine. Honestly between the two I have a hard time deciding which one I like more cause Y’know I find them both to be really good.

I agree with this. 

And @IEatLasers, I'm still not conviced. That opening movie, the cgs, and everything else mentioned above kinda seals it for me. And it is a shame too. I would have prefered it to be ambiguous, but it is still obvious which side IS decided on. Not that it's the best option, but fan choice rarely plays into this kind of thing. I suppose we'll just have to wait for some sort of Awakening Bridal Banner to finalize who it is.

My personal favorite is Tiki. No surprise there. The comparisons to Marth are pretty apt, but it still shows that Robin is his own person. Good in his own way. And, of course, there is Tiki being able to love another. Her confession line basically sums it up.

I know that to love another, I must watch the world move past him. But such short years make an eternity worth living.

As for others, Cordelia is certainly a good ship for him, as the support goes into her own insecurities and her struggles related to her late comrades in arms.

Same goes for Olivia, actually, but without the survivor’s guilt.

Can’t really think of much else, let alone for female Robin. I guess I’ll say Frederick is a good one, and move from there.

I often think FRobin x Yen'fay ( same reason as above ). But FRobin X Frederick is so cute too 🙂
