need help how can update my patched game with an updated patch without losing save data

i download a fe8 patch and the maker has updated it so i was wondering how i could update my game without losing my save data

If you have a .sav file, you should be able to load the patched ROM through the emulator then load alternate save; not sure which emulator you are using, but I know the one I use, (mGBA) can do that.

If you are using mGBA, then I usually do it like this:

1. Start mGBA
2. Click on the file button on the top
3. Click "Load ROM"
4. Load the ROM
5. Click File again
6. Click load alternate save
7. Select the proper save file.
