Eh, what is the benefit of feeding meals to my units? Stat boosts?

Stat boosts and other such effects, (some give skills, increase exp/weapon skill, etc.) and it increases their happiness.

@DragonFlames or @Armagon

As I'm buying some more of the Atelier games, which should i go with?

I'd say go with Atelier Sophie.
Other than that one being one of my personal favorites, it doesn't have a time limit mechanic, and it features one of the best alchemy systems in the series (imo).

Mmkay, I'll add that to "the list".

Fighter Lysithea is meta.

That’s what happens when you give Freikugel to a unit with speed 😛

So you're on Ch. 11? Then I can tell you that the difficulty steps up a fair bit on Ch. 12 and especially after the timeskip. You may want to stick with hard after all.

This is very true. Have fun with chapter 13 Benice 😈

An enemy with a weapon that can apparently break swords just destroyed Faye's cutlass. Nice.

At least Sylvis is an absolute beast.

That is a Kaga moment right there, putting two sword units next to a swordbreaker.

Maybe reset...

I forgot, if its not too much to ask, could you possibly make a pros/cons list so I can compare to other games in the series?

Who would make this a prompt ;-; (and why is this upside down)

I understand the question but that's not really what judging a book by its cover means.

The saying means to not make judgments on things from appearance alone.

As the for the prompt just think of some junk that means a lot to you.

Yeah, that guy is Kaga's way to politely remind you that looking at enemy inventories is cool and fun. Enemy skillsets, too. You never know when you'll stumble upon an enemy with Vengeful...

I wish it didn't happen next to Faye, but indeed. It happens on turn 1, so a reset doesn't hurt.

Sure thing!
Although the cons could be pros and vice-versa, I'll list off what I think could annoy others as cons, even if I like them:

Pros:

  • No time limits, except on some monster slaying quests
  • lovely music, setting, story, characters (especially characters)
  • multiple battle themes that change depending on how strong you are compared to the enemies you face
  • very easy to learn, but hard to master alchemy system
  • in battle, you can have four members in the active party

Cons:

  • gathering areas are rather small (doesn't bother me, though)
  • there are missable character events if you advance the story too fast
  • the max level is 20, after that, you get skill points to strengthen your characters' abilities (doesn't bother me, though)
  • every character can only hold up to five usable items.
  • sometimes, enemies in gathering areas you unlock will be too strong for you at that point in the game.

How do you activate those? On the battlefield, or at the base?

Battlefield-I believe they are activated when one of the units ends their turn next to the unit that they have the talk convo with. Sometimes the talk action comes up instead.

For some reason, Reese has no talk command with the chapter 2 gang. But you wait next to them with him, and the conversation starts automatically.
