Lives system is long outdated, even Mario got rid of them. Different games for different tastes and preferences, I guess. Astral Chain sounds interesting though. Viewtiful Joe is nonexistent for the story after the intro and before the conclusion. VJ2 I never played, but it appeared to increase the amount of story, but not by a whole lot. Reason for that is that Yoko Taro, the guy that wrote the game writes really really good stories but the gameplay part of his games tend be alright at best to bad at worst. The dreaded Rainbow Slugs and Black Liver Beans weren't too hard to find, though the Ice Cabbages took longer. There are still plenty of quests to do and I haven't fully completed Future Connected yet, but I don't want to finish all of it at once so I can wait before I do all that. As with my limited JP reading ability, from what I can tell, Melia's weapon is called Demon's bolt. Dont know anything else besides what I assume is her class name? And of course the rescue staff.
