you get boots for killing Shura off 😛

Well that I remember.

Don’t ask why I pick a unit I never use over a booster to the best stat. I have no idea myself.

I usually use Shura because, well, a staff user never hurts xD

Especially late game conquest having 4 staff users or so is ideal xD

Not gonna lie, I can;t wait until I get to try HW2. After the TH fiasco, I don't wanna ever play a game I know much about again, so I can't watch basically anything the content creators I like are putting out...

Berserk fans are in a constant state of existential suffering.

It's hilarious, but only because I'm not a Berserk fan.

It’s a good read even though I’ve only read about 2 volumes myself. Though the hiatuses are irritating I can understand why. Like the monthly and weekly manga industry is just straight up hell. Oda only really gets about 4 hours of sleep in like 15 minute increments. It certainly is a tough job

Anyway the best FE is Pokémon Conquest, without a doubt

I wish. I like Pokemon Conquest, but it's a strategy game thats supremely beginner level, it's insultingly too easy. I want a sequel, but it needs something with depth and challenge that an adult could find exciting.

And, I'd have them consider swapping to the Dynasty Warrior cast, or integrating DW characters alongside the returning Samurai ones. Chromatically the one issue that comes to mind with DW, would be Wu would be all Fire & Fighting, Shu Grass, Jin Water & Ice, and Wei... Poison and Psychic? Costume redesigns would be necessary, and Lu Xun, Daqiao, Xiaoqiao, Guan Suo, and Bao Sanniang get turned into children.

So we have 11 years, 13 years, and 15-16 years... nice, nice!

I probably got Blazing Sword in March or April of 2004, I can't remember the exact month, because it came in an Easter basket and Easter fluctuates due to being a lunisolar holiday.

That is true.

Personally, I'd never want to play any gacha games, no matter how "good" they are (mostly for fear of becoming addicted to them and ruining my life).

The gambler's high feels great...

...*Fails to get what I want and runs out of summon material*

...the gambler's low is 🤬!

I'll find a video game with a casino that uses entirely fictional currency that I can reset and regain all my losses if I lose if I want a safe gambling high. I used to love the Luigi's mini games in Super Mario 64DS. The simplified version of Poker there gave me fun for hours (not sure if you Europeans have it, I know your laws on gambling in video games, even if it doesn't involve real currency at all, are stricter). The Voltorb Flip game in HeartGold/SoulSilver was as very fun too (and the music was good).

This said, what kills gatcha for me is that it demands your labor on a daily basis, and for what? Grind, grind, grind, with scattered fun bits that aren't enough of a counterweight to all the hours of wheat being turned to flour in a watermill. Life is pointless, but gatcha is super-pointless.

For me, I tend to be too merciful. Given the choice to spare someone, unless them being spared results in something bad happening or killing them has some significant gameplay benefit, I let them live.

Other than some reviews, I tend to go into new games watching either one or two trailers, or none at all. I especially don't watch long videos of discussion of gameplay mechanics and whatnot. Unless you drink from the Lethe, you only get one first impression, and I often choose to keep it fairly blind.

Yeah. Generally the more blind I am on story, the more I enjoy it. I basically had TH's whole plot spoiled, which is probably why I think it's super weak.

HW2? What’s that? Hyrule Warriors 2?

Me too.

But that’s exactly what’s so odd, boosts are so good..!

I think I understand though, it’s a mix of the completionist in me wanting every character (possible, sorry Dwyer), my dislike of being “evil” in games that are at least a little story centric (so like I spare in fire emblem in story scenes when prompted, like Shura or Claude, but in Skyrim, for example, I couldn’t care less if I’m only the wealthiest guy around because I stole all the valuables I came across and killed anyone who saw.)

——

I finished chapter 17. It really wasn’t as hard as I thought it was gonna be. Keeping Saizo alive would have been, though.

I think you should give yourself way way more credit there. All of your points are extremely valid, you’re not so easily influenced.

I have heard good things about it but i also know that it's waaaaay too dark for me. I can tolerate dark but there is a limit.

Hands up if you spared Flowey!

Man, I wanna play Undertale again...

Nah, I'm certain that if I'd not set unreasonable expectations in every regard, I'd have loved it.

Not Bowzu, Elise

Wanted to drop her off left of my unit

dropped her off bottom instead, right in the range of Wyvern riders carrying Armor units that can all one shot Elise....

I was able to solve it, but now i have a problem on the other side of the map becauase i had to move alot of units around to save her xD

FFS that's why i want turnwheels, for missclicks like this.

Sure they happen like 2% of the time, but it can cost you the whole map some time

Yeah, I agree. Maybe two?

Although an alternate system that I wonder if it would work were kind of like "Save states" where you use a charge of turnwheel/pulse to set a state that you can go back to once per map or something.

or that.

Then again, that wouldn't fix misclicks.

Maybe a hybrid system would be better, where you can set, say, two states per map and rewind once/twice?

it would make it so you reset a few turns instead from the beginning.

Or just 2-3 turnwheel uses xD

Although, i usually limit turnwheel uses myself even when the game gives me alot, so if people want more, give em more haha

Wait there’s another person who played Undertale here? Wahoo!

Although I guess it’s probable Dayni has played it as well, considering the discussion we had.

Any way, I am going to be honest, I... did not. BUT this was because I had bad information, I had been told it was good to go neutral -> pacifist -> genocide when in reality neutral is literally just pacifist but ends earlier and that was stupid advice, and up to that point I had not yet killed a single boss even though I had wanted to because I was supposed to be neutral and not mostly sparing but killing here and there because the internet told me to. Flowey told me I would never get a good ending so I reset to spare him and then he said that resetting wouldn’t make things better so I assumed I was locked out of the pacifist ending, since I already knew what happens when (People who might play Undertale one day (which literally I could recommend to any gamer if they’re looking for something new, seriously) DO NOT OPEN THAT!!)

Spoiler

you reset after genocide and do pacifist so I wiped all the Undertale data from my switch.

Yep! It was a long while back, but hoo boy, that game was a masterpiece, plain and simple. Wow. Simply superb.

I would totally recommend it. It's a really interesting experience all-around that feels really personal.

I can't say I blame ya. I got stuck for a few weeks on the Asgore fight because...Well, you know about that fight.

But yeah, I've played through once to the true ending.
