Speaking of which, Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 happens to share most of its voice cast with Xenoblade 2 (both use American actors in the UK, and both games had their voice recording done around the same time), so it's funny to hear Wasp sound exactly like Pyra (among other examples). I've been tempted to get it just for that.

It’s not a very good game, I couldn’t enjoy it very much.

I'm gonna need fanart of this.

Xenoblade 2 Avengers.

Based on the voice actors...

  • Jin would be Iron Man
  • Wulfric would be Thor
  • The King of Torna would be Doctor Strange
  • Gorg would be Rocket Raccoon
  • Perceval would be Star-Lord
  • Dagas would be Ant-Man and Hawkeye
  • Pandoria would be Spider-Gwen

...and probably more than that. Even the great David Menkin is in it, though I don't know who he voices.

Oof.

I remember hearing Story of Seasons on 3DS had a similar problem.

I absolutely ran into a lack of dialogue variety with the Friends of Mineral Town remake. However, that was a fairly faithful to a fault update of a GBA game based on a PS1 game, so there I can find room to excuse it, unlike a brand-new entry. One person who has previewed the Olive Town game said that two seasons in, the lack of varied conversation was painful.

You say this but Smash has Pikmin and Animal Crossing music, which is the most unfitting selection of music for a fighting game.

Xenoblade X OST may be divisive and an aquired taste but a lot of it would still fit a game like Smash.

I see Villager's archenemy has an axe to grind too.😛

Fair point. There is a dissonance that comes from calm music (or that environmental noises track for the Pikmin stage) and raging fighting, hurts the immersion at times.

Even a few XCX non-battle themes fits Smash alright, certainly NLA Oblivia, perhaps Noctilum, CODENAMEZ.

The only games I’ve played with dungeon puzzles are Zeldas and that’s kind of the point.

Anyway, not that I’ll likely play it super soon, but how similar is Thracia 776 to Fe4?

Very different.

  • Maps are normal-sized.
  • Only one generation.
  • Growable weapon ranks.
  • All stats (except HP) cap at 20.
  • Trading and normal shops exist.
  • You start with 0 Gold and get none for free, the Capture command is how you get the vast majority of your weapons.
  • Fatigue forces units to sit out battles once in a while.
  • Dismounting is forced indoors.

Very, very different, and feel free to lookup information about this game, as it is aggressively unfriendly to blind player. A great game that I love, but it does not hold its punches.

@twilitfalchion if you every play Thracia, this might help

It's a bit outdated as it is done with the old TL in mind, so you can completely ignore the menu section because modern TL is kino, but it has some really useful tips, as Thracia as some mechanics that were never seen again in FE

If you ever decide to try Thracia, here's a spoiler free guide. Although it's based on the very old tl patch, the information is still applicable.

Dungeon puzzles are a sin and the option to skip them is something everys game should have

LeaBruh.png

What every game should have is a puzzle speed slider like in CrossCode to help you solve puzzles easier if you get stuck. But the option to skip them entirely suggests to me that the devs didn't have confidence that people could solve them.

That said, i'm fine with Origami King doing it because they likely didn't want Little Timmy to get stuck on the puzzles even if the hardest Origami King puzzles are still easier than the easiest Zelda puzzles, at least in the dungeons.

Anyways only the Water Temple has option to skip.

To add to what Observer said

  • Staffs can miss and double
  • Hit-rates are 1-99. There are no guaranteed dodges or hits.
  • Introduction of Fog of War, everything you can't see is pitch black.

@Armagon I was looking at some discussion on the Story of Seasons fansite Fogu, wanted to see what some diehard fans had to say about Olive Town's writing disaster.

Yoshifumi Hashimoto was the producer for all four 3DS SoS games, which longtime fans say were totally fine in the writing department. However, Hashimoto stepped down and took a bunch of "like-minded individuals" with him. The new SoS head hancho is fairly inexperienced and has possibly lost some talented writers and other employees with Hashimoto's departure.

Now, Hashimoto didn't leave Marvelous entirely, it seems he settled for an independent development team within the company. What does he do now? He got a job as a director. For what you ask?

Those wings definitely look out of place for Savyna. I was caught off guard.

The red peacock kinda matches her Fire emphasis. And it's a little neat that she uses her feathers as projectiles in the Burning Arrow finisher. Although, it's the male peacocks who have the pretty plumage, the females look like pretty plain birds, so they flubbed IRL gender on these magical wings of the heart.

To add on to what others said.

Supports are internal, meaning you have to be within 3 spaces of two supporting units.

MAG and RES are tied to the same stat.

Some units have vigor, which can grant them another turn.

PCC exists, and I very broken.

Yeah, i noticed that. Pretty neat.

I initially said it looked out of place but thinking more about it now, i like the contrast. Wouldn't expect the cool, loner woman to have such bright feathers.

Also she's probably my favorite combat-wise. Lots of heavy multi-hits.

Well, having to fight Savyna as a boss shortly after recruiting her was.....interesting. At least on paper. In practice, it was the rest of the party losing IQ points and deciding to attack her on sight simply because she might be with the Empire (even though they already have someone who was with the Empire on their side).

I mean, Kalas going "shoot first, ask questions later" makes sense given his personality but Xelha, Gibari and Lyude all could've stopped and thinked for about a minute and realized things don't add up.

Anyways, Savyna calls them out on it

I had no idea there was a Samurai Warriors 5 already... and OMG, they actually made a young version of Ieyasu! XD

No longer being 17 at Okehazama and looking like in his 50's already. lol  But it was funny him going from looking too old to looking too young by Osaka when he was in his 70's...

@Interdimensional Observer I was talking with a friend about how hilariously mean Kalas can be at times and he said "ha, i get it. His name is Kalas because he's callous" and that just made too much sense. I don't know if that was intentional but i'm gonna believe it is.

It used to -wrongly- be said online that you could skip the Sayvna fight, would've been nice if that were a real option. Considering Kalas is a jerk and that Lyude pointed the accusation at Sayvna in the first place, while Gibari is jovial and Xelha kind, they could've set the two trusting characters against the two untrusting ones.

The fact you have to fight her right after a prior boss is a little unfair, although she isn't a difficult opponent at least.

As a little reminder, technically it is possible to become softlocked due to a lack of access to a Blue Flower after you depart for the next island, although it's very doubtful that it would happen. A separate save might be useful on principle.

Kalas's name actually has a meaning stated in-game, albeit not a homonym. You'll eventually learn it (be very patient). It's "King Almightily unLikeable Adorned in CrocS". Or not.😛

Yeah, I thought that choosing "don't fight her" would allowed you to not fight her but Kalas says "lmao, imma still throw hands".

Oh is the soft-lock dungeon coming up? I ended my play session after I got back to Komo Mai, before meeting with the queen again.

No this is a separate instance that nobody ever complains about, despite not having access to a Blue Flower to level up, presumably because they don't get stuck on the next boss the way the actual softlock boss is. This is soft-lock in principle, not in practice. It's only dawned on me in recent retrospect that it could happen here.

The real soft-lock dungeon is two islands from now. The game was actually nice enough to tell Kalas to explicitly warn you.:

Screen-Shot-2021-03-04-at-12-50-22-AM.pn

And after this text box you can choose to head on into the dungeon, or not.

But as a ~11-12 year-old child, I absolutely positively with all my heart did not read this carefully. And I paid the price.😅
