So, while you don't see the heroes drawing a card and manifesting the item therein all the time, it's supposed to be what's happening. The bad guys don't die or retreat b/c you played some Yu-Gi-Oh trump card and they had a nervous breakdown convinced there was no way they could possibly lose. It's because you hurt them actual objects which just so happen to be stored away in a deck.

Imagine if they did just throw the cards at each other. It's plain embarrassing to lose to a punk who threw a card of rotten bananas at you.

IRL time. Although it doesn't use the GameCube's internal clock the way Animal Crossing does, cards won't age a nanosecond if you aren't playing the game.

Well that explains the 300 hour Speedrun then.

Though that does make the chances of items being let age less likely if you have the mindset of using it.

This is to be a point in the review i still haven't written but i do think that the game does a very good job at showing just how much Mobius just desecrates life. This is important as the central theme (or one of) of the game is stated by Takahashi to be life.

Oh yh that's definitely true. But they could've shown that without making them such...cartoon villains i guess? Fiona's was a good example, as i said. I don't mind villains being absolute bastards, and they don't need to be sympathetic or have noble goals, but in this game they honestly go deep into stupid territory

N, as you said, is the best one in the game and a good example of being an unreedemable bastard without being stupid. But he also doesn't hit hit. But he made me go "YOU FUCKING BASTARD" and not "he stoopid"

Xenoblade 1: Egil

I don't think of him as a good villain, honestly.

Get's TNJ'd too easily

The word choice of the "only rule over six mil" when examined looks like it might be intentional sarcastic understatement. Which should mean Samaar is BIG, but not scientifically superior

It's likely that intelligent life in the Xenoblade X universe likely spans the entire observable universe and Samaar simply occupies 6 million light-years of that.

For the record, the observable universe is 46.508 billion light years. Even Samaar is ridiculously tiny compared to it.

Not every characters gets as much as they deserve for time in the spotlight

The later games really improve on this front.

On one hand, I agree, on the other hand, they literally are theater villains. In fact, I think I remember seeing a post back when the Direct came out about how they seem to resemble a certain theater trope. I'll find it, maybe.

Yeah it's weird. Normally I tend to be pretty harsh when the villains don't measure up (I tore TOArise a new one for this) but the way Xenoblade 3 went about handling them makes me be lenient.

I think I might appreciate him as a villain more in a later run but for now......yeah.

Talk no Jutsu'd.

Then again it's more on Shulk for delivering the TNJ himself?

...

There's a reason i am only really fond of Melia when it comes to Xenoblade 1

The other games are much much better in that regard

It's been some time: so could someone explain how XC2 rare Blade probability works?

Planning on changing the % rates around, but i have no idea how it works in an in-depth knowledge kinda way.

For me it really felt flat on it's head honestly. But we talked about this before i think, and why once 7 comes imo the story falls off a cliff for me, and how Shulk's "revenge bad" feels like an insult.

And why i am one of the few people who like Future connected more than main game xD

Another thing i feel like is that 3 hits quite few of the same story beats as 1, just much much better also.

Well, 2 chapters, 1 hero and a ton of ascension quests to go!

Uhh basically there's five sets of pity rates that's randomly determined for your file. Except set 1 and 5 are the same cause they accidentally copypasted it.

Probability depends on luck and thought cloud.

You can at least save these for the post-game but definitely get that last Hero you're missing and i'm going to assume it's the robot.

Oh and you've done the Side Stories for the main six, right? Well i know not Noah and presumably Mio's cause that's from the story.

Btw @Armagon

What lvl is the final dungeon again? Just so i try to not overlvl by much

Uh estimate Lv.65 at the start and Lv.70 by the end.

The final boss is Lv.75 so Lightcosmo has already overshot him lmao.

Final dungeon is loooooooong tho, make time for this.

Hmm

I am 58 atm so entering at 70 should be possible if i plan it right.

Inb4 i go there 85 xD

Niceee.

I love me some looooooooooooooooooooooong final dungeons. Always one of the highlights of a game for me....aslong as they aren't designed badly like ToArise's lol

XBC2's final dungeon was also massive. Is this bigger?

YES!!! I have accomplished my first goal, which was to surpass all in terms of overleveling!

We'll see if i can make 99, doubtful though.

I mean i don't remember the World Tree being that long but yes, the final dungeon of 3 is massive. I started like at 8:30 and i didn't finish until past midnight.

I should also mention this ahead of time, so both you and @lightcosmo and everyone else are prepared: the final boss is five phases long. And yes, if you lose at any point, you will have to redo it all. As a result, Fiona MVP.

Xenoblade 3's long-ass final dungeon is better for the simple fact that you automatically heal after every fight and there are these things called fast travel points lmao.
