Wait, so then, is the entire cast available for these, or does it still depend on the amount of folks you have when you take on the xenologues?

I would imagine it's everyone you've recruited thus far.

Meaning you probably don't want to do this frame 1.

I'd say, seems I was right.

It's the Royals using the DLC Emblems.

Eight royals but seven bracelets. Question is, who's the eighth?

This could go many ways.

There could be more Bracelets, but the datamine didn't showed that.

We might not fight all the Royals, meaning one would be left out.

Datamine also showed we'll end up fighting some of the Emblems more than once, so they might hot potato them. The trailer already showed Alfred and Hortensia both using Hector at different points.

So yeah, this is still in the air.

"In the Fell Xenologue, allies will enter each map with fixed Level, class and inventory, depending on the map. However, equipped Emblems, support relationships and Bond Rings from the main game will be retained."

If all the maps have the amount of deployment slots that one does, and the units' stats are all set in stone, it's actually more likely that it won't make that much of a difference if you do it frame 1. I imagine you'd have to, at the very least, unlock the world map before the Xenologues became available. By that time you have seven units and a couple emblems. Really, gathering a few more emblems seems like it'd be the only reason to want to wait - which, in fact, means you probably don't want to wait too long, lest you enter The Funny territory.

Proof that she's good now: Blue

To be honest, I think she looks better like that. Pink is way overdone.

The one I find funny is Zelestia. Not only is she still wearing that dreadful "sorceress dominatrix from a bad porn game" get-up, she went full black leather with it too. Good girl Zephia looks even more evil than her evil counterpart lol

...I really have to wonder what that one's going to wear in the Somniel.

You would have less units tho.

Meanwhile Mauvier is exactly the same guy.

They might as well not have bothered recoloring them.

Fire Emblem Engage: Inexplicably reuses a bosswoman who clearly died without even recoloring or renaming her and makes you kill her again

E V I L Fire Emblem Engage: Recolors bossmen and then gives them to you

Will say, neat detail that the enemy HP bars are the same color as their nation. Solmic units have yellow HP bars, for example.

The other three still had red, though.

I mean, at least the Marni / Madeline thing is most likely a cheeky reference to the days of yore with the sprite palette changes... but I'd still just have the OG colors than the Shiny.

Especially since it seems the rest of the cast are identical to their regular counterparts, in both looks and name. It's only the Three Stooges that get renamed and recolored, for some reason that I... okay, I actually don't think they'll explain it satisfactorily, this is Engage we're talking about lol

Eh. I don't mind it that much simply because I personally think Marni (who has my favorite of the three designs, anyway) looks better in blue, but it probably would've been better to either commit to new designs, or just let us have them, no strings attached.

I'd say with Marni it's worse since her death was totally preventable in the main game.

Makes a good point, and if the alts are just different facets of the character as opposed to outright "what if X but evil", it'd be more interesting.

Then again alt-Alcryst is just an asshole so we'll see.

Mauvier successfully pushes her out of the dagger's way but she falls on a bucket of blue paint that was just lying around

I mean, that's still being the opposite, since main!Céline is about doing it only when necessary. Meanwhil, Alt!Céline seems to gear it be her first go-to response.

It's more than just "X but bad guy", since the whole thing is meant to be a Mirror World.

We do know they're seeing our coming to Mirror Firine as an invasion at least.

But yeah, I won't expect much. Maybe we'll get good convos between the counterparts.
