And not even exclusive to Nintendo in the gaming industry either. Amazon has made their first kinda-competent video game in the form of New World. But, I read that that game, contrary to what usually happens with MMORPGs, is running into serious ingame economic deflation issues. Prices keep dropping because you get to the end of the game, coin income becomes incredibly scarce and taxes devour too much of that limited income. Players have begun resorting to bartering raw materials instead of spending precious coinage. This is highly unusual for an MMORPG. But, it's Amazon, would you expect them to ever pay the masses enough?

Amazon truly going the ancap route confirmed.

And that's precisely the problem. Size and age always breeds indulgence, incompetency, and arrogance. Religious, political, social, economic, all human institutions without some serious self-flagellation every so often, since the dawn of humanity have likely been this way. The small if they partake of the same flaws, either die, or never become big and must always be wary of skirting the edge of ruin.

It's not Nintendo's problem, but rather human nature in general. "Establishment" is an illness as old any (excluding recent mutations) humanity has died of.

What I'm getting from this is that we should burn down Nintendo HQ.

Let's go. I will bring the flamethrower.

Really, I'm not sure I want that to be my life, or my spouse's life for that matter.

Yuuup

I know problems are a part of life and all

But i don't want a life with even more problems lol

Understandable. Although i'd say that's up to you and your hypothetical spouse to figure out.

A bit of a serious topic but part of the reason i'd like to get married is because i know i can be both a better husband and a better father than my dad ever was. My relationship with my dad has kinda mellowed out but i feel that the times i had to live my dad.....may have negatively affected my life.

Yeah, from experience you have to be accepting of it.

Mmmhmm.

And from experience, it's mainly English speaking countries that don't. They'll shame your entire bloodline if you marry but don't move out. In Spanish speaking countries tho, you'd be seen as pretty based for marrying and not moving out.

But why then not tie the knot with no ceremony if you really want your significant other to receive some social welfare benefits or the like from being so closely bonded to you?

Another valid point.

I just think something sweet shouldn't be clobbered by paperwork oh wait, that's exactly what happens when we're born.

Not to mention she somehow managed to become one of my best combat units on Celica's side of things during my first playthrough, which I found to be quite amazing. Always love when a character I like also turns out to be a good unit!

She is one of the better summoners so yes, Genny good.

She just has these vibes like she's bursting through the door and is like "ayy, whatup guys?", when there's something completely serious being talked about in the room right now. XD

She's this

Idk, that's what i thought of when you said that.

Even if she is somewhat outclassed by all the severely OP DLC characters (especially the newest ones... ESPECIALLY the new Fernet... like, holy hell)

Wait, what? Since when? I swear the game never tells you this, you only get “wear when hot”.

According to Zelda Wiki

"While wearing it, Link will no longer burn from fire-based traps and attacks and will be able to travel on tiles of lava, allowing him to take certain shortcuts safely. He will also gain special resistance from floor spikes and poison water."

It says these benefits don't come with the Zora Tunic. I mean it's from a wiki, so maybe not the most reliable, but for a major game from a major franchise... maybe it's accurate?

Let's go. I will bring the flamethrower.

Let me say this, I read in university an excerpt from a book that argued Mao Zedong was a firm ideologue who believed in the idea of "continuous revolution". The Great Cultural Revolution, which coincidentally had the effect of further solidifying his grasp on power, was carried out to avoid ideological decline. He had witnessed how the USSR had gone from the vanguard of Communist Revolution, to a bunch of old men with no internationalist socialist vigor left in them, interested more in securing the status quo for themselves than revolution to save the workers of the world. Mao didn't want that for China. By the time he was chatting with Nixon the president of Evil America, and himself an old man who slept in the nude and liked being cared for by young lady nurses, Mao himself had become incompetent, indulgent, and arrogant (as if he already hadn't already been these things for decades).

So what's the lesson? You can desire to avoid ossifying and becoming the rotten establishment you see elsewhere. But it is difficult to maintain those youthful, optimistic passions with increasing age. Not impossible, but as one's stamina goes down and the years go up, the resiliency to resist becoming part of the stinking establishment decreases, because joining the establishment is the easy way out. Constant self-vigilance, acknowledgement of one's errors, and putting in the actual effort to correct those errors and move back away from establishment again, is exhausting. If you find your job leaves you constantly frustrated- as in governance and politics, it is extra difficult to remain anti-establishment. One must give praise to the individuals who -for good causes and not bad ones- retain the their youthful anti-establishment vigor. (Note that I am not referring to populism here, I am no lover of demagogues.)

Not that I can wholeheartedly say the Protestant Reformation was an absolute good thing, being that it broke a rotten establishment. On the one hand, it did force Catholicism to reexamine itself and in the long run led to increased secularism in Europe. But in the short-mid terms... lots of deaths, persecution, and hatred related to the new religious divide. It's a bit of a mixed bag.

So, burn Nintendo to the ground? Well... I will say that I do wish that the marketplace of money and democratic systems of government did a better job of providing a means by which the masses could nonviolently break down old establishments for good causes. As it is, they kinda suck at that. But, is that because humanity sucks at smart spending and informed voting?

My sympathies.🙂

At this rate, I'll probably never move out from my parents. Not that I don't mind being there for them, but, I'd be staying with them out of dependency more than a choice of my own.

The shame may be societal, but the intergenerational tension is certainly there too.

You guys make it sound like someone died xD

While i am not entirely happy with the decision, i have a pretty good relationship with my parents (''grandkids when?'' topic aside, there it explodes), so it's not that bad.

I just kinda miss my freedom a bit lol.

And my friends and my social circle in general.

Still, thanks^^

how could you mess it up

"I'LL MAKE YOU EAT THOSE WORDS!"

SA2B is best remembered when you include the random interrupting dialogues.

Ahh, the good ol' grandkids. My dad frames it as a joke every time, but he still throws the question. He had me at a relatively late age, so I think the poor guy is legitimately afraid that he will die without grandchildren.

Sorry, dad. I love you, you've been good to me, but that is my choice to make, as well as my partner's. If I ever do find a girl willing to stick with me.

I don't see myself giving grandkids to my parents. Or even a daughter-in-law for that matter either. If they want grandkids that's what my brother is for...
