Hey kiddos, it's old man Wraith here to talk to you today about some fantasy series worth reading. Bored of Bookwalker? Aghast at anime? Incensed by isekai? Fearful of Fire Emblem? Then let me tell you about the days of high adventure. I'm sure you'll find something to your liking if you look.

I've provided links to the audio books of most of these series which you can find on Audible to purchase or on LibriVox and Youtube for free. In you want to own physical copies of these books, I'd buy them either at:

Some very good suggestions. It’s not a comprehensive list of every great character Howard made, only the series of his I’ve read so far.

Fair enough. Probably doesn't hurt that Cormac didn't get all that many stories and Almuric was a single novel published over three issues of Weird Tales. That said, I'm kind of partial to both.

Lots of stuff on here I've considered reading. I'm currently reading The Wheel of Time series right now, almost done with Book 3. I've always wanted to explore more with the Dark Fantasy genre and have thought about getting into The Black Company series in the past. I enjoy the Berserk manga and I'm a big fan of Dark Souls and other FromSoftware games. How does it compare to those?

The Black Company is a very good series and it’s author Glen Cook is considered the father of the grimdark genre.
