Zapp Branniglenn Posted August 22, 2020 Share Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) Well if we're starting out like that, I'm determined to make this a thread only about Resident Evil Trivia Did you know: Resident Evil 3 was just going to be a gaiden game (spinoff, I guess you could say) called Resident Evil Nemesis. It would have involved a new character escaping Nemesis and the game's events were planned to end after the clock tower boss fight. But partway through development, Capcom executives really liked what they saw and wanted it to be the official third game. To make it more sequel-ey, Jill Valentine was made the protagonist, returning characters and references to the first two games were added (Nemesis and 2 were in development at the same time, so the Nemesis team needed to be briefed about the second game's events), as well as having the city be destroyed at the end, so that the franchise could move beyond Raccoon City.
