maninbluejumpsuit
Finally got around to revisiting this on maddening, and at the end of the chapter this time, there was no option to spare him. Was there something I did, or didn't do that removes that choice? Just curious.
Sooks
Did you deal the final blow with Byleth or Edelgard? That’s the only requirement I know of to get the spare option
maninbluejumpsuit
Ah. No. The option to spare is really tied to that?
Sooks
Yep! Not sure why he wouldn’t ask anyone else to spare his life though.

We all know Bernadetta is far too merciless to take any prisoners alive.

Shanty Pete's 1st Mate
Raphael wanted to spare Claude, but Hubert was keeping all the sandwiches in a locked cooler, and refused to open it without Claude's head. The battle was short.
SRPG Tryhard
Is it off topic to ask about the next chapter and sparing Flayn and Seteth? I think that it is only possible by defeating them with Byleth. So is this again a gameplay gimmick or is there a narrative reason for it?
