James Marshall
In my 2nd Blue Lions Playthrough I'm almost certain that my Ignatz's Def very heavily RNG-Screwed, but I'm not 100% certain. What do you think?. Here is more info on my Ignatz's Levels and Def When he was A Level 18 Commoner he became A Level 18 Archer. When he was A Level 22 Archer he became A Level 22 Sniper and he is now A Level 35 Sniper but his Def is only 16. So what do you think?. Is my Ignatz's Def very heavily RNG-Screwed? RaIsMyPet
No I don’t think so. Iggy has only 25% Def growth. archer line doesn’t provide meaningful Def bonus if at all. 25%*34=around 8~9 Def. Base Def is 4, so he should have about 13 Def at level 35, plus minus a few points

If you want your units to stop having low stats, stop raising them in Noble/Commoner. Other classes give better growth modifiers, in addition to stat modifiers. And units can get bumped up to class bases. Once they reach level 5 and get HP+5 through mastery, there's rarely a reason not to reclass. GarEEE
From your given info, Ignatz would have an average of 15.25 defence at level 35. So no, he isn't RNG-screwed in def, it's just that he's naturally that bad at it. Still, I'd always recommend promoting asap as Shanty said.
