Now it’s time for the guy who totally isn’t the death knight nope not even a little uh some something TWSITD! Yeah!

Rules

- Ratings are assumed to be on Hard or Maddening Mode. Also, they should be based on when the unit is first available. (When rating a unit, please specify whether you are rating assuming Hard or Maddening.)

- Votes need some explanation regarding their gameplay performance to be counted (unless they fall into the general parameters of the average rating, but reasoning is still strongly encouraged on those even if you just wanna quote people) — incredibly low scores or high scores without proper justification will not be counted. Don't put in some random text thinking it'd count as justification. Put in at least a little thought and give REAL reasoning.

- Numbers for votes, please - not something like "Marcus/10", etc. Proper Justification will be determined by me and whoever decides to help.

+/- ≤1 point extra regarding personality/appearance is okay, but no more.

- Votes out of 10, or something proportional to it. Makes it easy to calculate, please and thank you~!

-The rating you give to a unit assumes a good build for said unit-nothing among the lines of, "Dedue is 2/10 because he's a bad mage."

-The ranking assumes no grinding of any form, no DLC and minor, (one or two stat boosters per month) use of the Greenhouse.

- Make votes easily visible, please! "[Explanation text]: So, overall, I think X unit is a 7.5/10, with a +1 bias included for being hawt/cute/funny/etc.."

- Every ranking phase ends approximately at 20:00 PST. Do the math for your timezone, please!

-We will ask you to not use the "Not X unit" reason. Because it will be used a lot. I.E, do not say "Linhardt bad because not Lysithea."

-The Black Eagles may be assessed based on their performances in either Silver Snow or Crimson Flower, other than when not applicable.

The Schizophrenic Psychopath. I don’t particularly like him, but I do pity him. Stat-wise, he’s well and truly insane.

Skill Levels:      Boons: Sword (B+ Maddening, A other), Lance (A+), Brawling (C+), Riding (A). Talent in Flying. Bane in Faith and Authority. The Authority Bane is a non-issue, given that he starts with B Rank. He also has C+ Axes, D Bows, and D Reason. More or less he needs absolutely no Tutoring.

Abilities:     Murderous Intent is reskinned Certain Blow. He gets Darting Blow from his Talent.

Arts:     Why does he get Haze Slice when he has Windsweep (A)? other starting Arts are Nimble Combo, Shatter Slash, and Glowing Ember. Not the best, but still solid.

Stats:     Considering he’s in CF, his Growths don’t matter all that much, but they’re still pretty good. 53+35% HP, 32+50% Strength, 27+60% Speed, and 24+40% Defense are all he really needs. 18 Base Res is good enough, never mind the 25% Growth. His only real problem is his 10+25% Charm, leaving him wide open for Gambits.

Classes:     Do you really have time to go about snatching up Masteries? 6 Chapters? I don’t think so. Leave him in Death Knight, and don’t look back.

          The Verdict

The Gotoh of Three Houses. Comes ready built and just as good as anyone else. Maybe even better. 9/10. Enough said.

Given the problems late-joining PCs face, Jeritza manages to be surprisingly good anyway; by far the best of the units who join after Chapter 6.

The good: Jeritza sure looks a lot better than Alois, Seteth, or Gilbert when he rolls up, doesn't he? 28 base strength and 26 base speed. The strength is similar to those dudes (slightly better), but the speed? That's Ingrid-level. His defence is slightly above Fortress Knight replacement level, his HP is good, his Res is actually decent.

He also joins with good skill ranks: A+ in lances, almost A in swords, A in riding, B in authority. Not bad seeing that the last one is technically a bane (so he probably won't get to A, but there are plenty of good B battalions at least). He's only a short bit of training away from Darting Blow, which makes him easily the fastest male unit in the game if you snag it, and is close to Move+1 as well.

For combat arts, he gets Windsweep (almost free, he starts just shy of it), which is nice for throwing in safe chip damage against the bosses of Chapter 17, who can be a pain for some teams since CF has no crit-nulling accessories. Murderous Intent is a solid personal, a slightly worse version of Ignatz's.

The less good: Due to joining late, Jeritza misses out on Death Blow (without a backtrack) and a positioning art. And he's a bit tricky to make into a flier, since he joins at E flying (albeit a budding talent) and C+ axes; it's tempting to leave him as some sort of cavalry, which is fine, but lategame CF is not kind to cavalry-type movement.

His charm and luck are both quite poor. 3+30% luck only beats Flayn and Gilbert, so he will have to watch for crits from some things (having a prowess 5 skill helps, though), and 10 charm at that point in the game is awful, so he's best with utility gambits (such as Gautier Knights' Stride).

Overall, Jeritza has his weaknesses which keep him from being one of your best PCs post-timeskip. That said, he still shows up as a generally competent addition to your team; he will likely be better than your 10th or 11th best unit, giving him a spot on your roster. It's easy to compare him to Seteth and hard to deny that he wins that comparison. As such, Jeritza gets a 6.5/10 (Maddening).

He is the only man with access to Darting Blow, has great stats all around (except Luck and Charm), has a horse, has magic access in his unique class. He's awesome and hot. The only problem is his availability, being a CF exclusive and comes in Part 2, and CF is the shortest route. 8/10

We finally get to the Death Knight himself Jeritza. Considering that we're now talking about DLC we can finally bring it up. Is the Death Knight as scary as they come or just a mere generic unit? I think not, but let's see why. This is assuming hard mode.

Where to start? Well he is only available on the Crimson Flower route at level 27. As the Death Knight, He's rocking a lot of good stat growths like HP at 80%, Strength at 60% and Speed at 55%. His defense is also quite good as well at 45%. This is one of the classes that doesn't suffer from a bad speed modifier like Paladin does. His dex and charm growths being 35% and 25% respectively leaves a bit to be desired though, so he has to have a weakness somewhere. He's vulnerable to enemy gambits so be careful. His personal ability murderous intent allows him a Hit +20 when engaging in combat. It's cool but Ignatz always have hit +20 on both player and enemy phase so he beats him in that department. But Jeritza is far more bulkier compared to him so he wins there. Jeritza comes with the Scythe of Sariel, his signature weapon that deals high damage and has a high crit. He also comes with Mastermind as a regular ability so he can master classes very quickly like Lysithea could.

In terms of what he starts with, he comes with a lot of tools to play with. He has a boon in swords, lances, brawling, riding, and has a budding talent in flying. He has a bane in faith and authority. The Death Knight class also allows him to use magic as well. He already comes with Thunder since he has reason at rank D. His authority starts at rank B which is great because he can equip a number of good battalions despite it being his bane. Jeritza gets Battalion Desperation and Battalion Wrath, both of which are useful pending on what build you're going for. His sword rank starts at B+ and he already comes with Haze Slice. He is one rank off on getting Windsweep, so it takes little investment to obtain it. Windsweep allows him to safely chip at enemies and bosses in addition to having Canto thanks to the Death Knight class. He already has lances at rank A+, Shatter Slash which is nice for defense debuffs and Glowing Ember is fine though he doesn't have the highest defense stat to take full advantage of it.

Jeritza's other talents like Brawling, is at C+ rank and has Nimble Combo. If you make him a Brawler then later on a Grappler he can make good use of that and Fierce Iron Fist if desired. He has Curved Shot as well, thanks to his bow rank being at D. So archer is not out of the question for him either. He can even reclass as a Brigand for Death Blow too. Jeritza has a budding Talent in Flying, and for that he gets Darting Blow. This makes him really useful at doubling enemies, you can even combine that with Battalion Desperation and perform an immediate follow up attack. Flying as his boon can make him a Wyvern Lord. Now how scary is that? Mastering the Death Knight class grants him Counterattack which works on anything from any range. Imagine combining that with Alert Stance+ and Battalion Wrath. Now that is scary.

Overall, I think Jeritza is a 8.5/10 unit. He is as good as he's cracked up to be. If you want a easier time in hard mode or even maddening, he's your guy.

9/10

I think the main reason I think Jeritza is so good is that almost all his weaknesses are mitigated or downright negated by other aspects of him.

Bane in Authority? Man joins you with B authority, letting him use most of the best battalions in the game with no training.

Male unit who gets no access to Pegasus knight? He joins too late to take advantage of its early access to flight, and he gets darting blow from his budding talent. No Falcon Knight access is annoying, but Wyvern Lord works just as well if not better. And despite his magic oriented crest he’s not a great choice for a mage, so no Gremory isn’t an issue either.

Joins late and  with no earlier class masteries? He comes with equippable mastermind, so he can raise his skill levels and master classes quicker than most.

This means that his worst attribute is that all this power isn’t around for longer, which tbf is an issue since he only has 6 chapters to work with. But other than that he comes with great stats, particularly strength and speed, a personal class that gives Counterattack upon mastery, and great skill levels that (apart from flying) leave him not too far away from something like Wyvern Lord if you so desire. He works well at base and has the tools to become even stronger if you want.

Though he does have one other major flaw that I neglected to mention: WHERE ON EARTH IS YOUR RELIC YOU WERE HOLDING ONTO IT IN THE OTHER ROUTES WHY DONT YOU HAVE IT

I didn't consider it, but yeah. That kind of sucks. They should have had it in his inventory in Part 1 as an enemy too so he's harder to cheese. Damn he can never get it as it's a non Crimson Flower paralogue you get it in and it makes no sense. Even if Mercedes is with him it just goes poof. Well, if Mercedes is an enemy it somehow mangiclaly ends up in her possession. But enemy Mercedes also has Abraxes and White Magic Avoid+20 too, so she's obviously hacking the game.
