Samz707 Posted February 1, 2021 Share Posted February 1, 2021 I used to think Waifu Emblem was the entire series, as a result of Fates and Awakening being my only real early exposure to the series. (and actually had to explain to a friend that the entire series isn't Waifu Emblem since his first exposure to the series also was only Fates and Awakening.) I also thought for a good while that Awakening had to actually be a sequel with a pre-existing set of characters, simply because Robin's introduction to everyone is so awkward I assumed it was a bit like what Sonic Forces did where they just threw in your OC with characters that already existed. It was only when I started a second file with the name "Robin" that I noticed something was off. In Gaiden/Shadows of Valentia, I thought Alm and Celica were cousins, and then they kissed. Both when I first played them, and even after doing a lot of lurking on this site, I just assumed it was your strength stat that interacted with the weapon's weight. Got mad when I got to that part of FE7 (I never owned my own copy ok) and Precious Things played in the actual battle. That's the only one I have. Jotari Posted February 14, 2021 Share Posted February 14, 2021 I believed the Physic staff was the Psychic staff for an embarrassing long time, because it's not like you ever need to read these weapon names. Plus it sort of made sense. Psychics do stuff at distance and the staff does why normal healing staffs do, only at a distance. I believed Haar was an enemy on my first playthrough of Radiant Dawn (also my first playthrough of any Fire Emblem game). Cause the dude rocks the eye patch and black spikes if you're only half paying attention to what little dialogue he has prerecruitment he looks like a villain. So completely missed out on the wonder boy that is the flying tank. Bit weird considering he has a lot of plot dialogue after that in Part 2. You also have to wonder with characters such as him, where they end up if you don't recruit them. Because it seems highly unlikely Haar wouldn't find himself getting wrapped up in the war eventually (maybe even on Daein's side if he goes back to Jill). But nope. He just vanishes.
