Every character I really wanted has been kicked, you just gotta take your lumps. So just put it aside, nothing is done out of spite.

Oh, I agree that we need more 3 Houses characters, and at least one supporter for every house, which is what revives are for. Speaking of which, good luck reviving Ashe.

 

Don't read too much into it. Every removal is simply one less favored character being replaced with a more favored one. It isn't about spiting other posters, but rather influencing the roster in the way you want. I try to avoid removing characters that I know people are personally attached to, and if it happens, it's not out of spite. A lot of my favorites are being knocked off in rapid succession as well, and you see how heavy I'm going on revives as a result.

No harm, no foul. Like I'm at a impasse, I have a few more Revives, but that means adding and removing... which at this point would seem like doing so out of spite.

No, that was my fault for trying to be clever or explaining my reasoning (and I'm sure we all have reasoning unless someone is literally playing eeny meeny miny moe with the roster or something). But just saying add, remove, and revive lacks personality. 

 

The game ends when everyone on the roster is locked through revival (less likely but more satisfying) or we run out of living characters to add (more likely). 

 

This means that your favorites getting bumped off earlier is actually to their advantage. Like, I would vote off Hector and Ike and such to tactically lock them back in, but that's against the fair spirit of competition.

 

Anyway, I hate to contribute 2 in a row, but it seems I need to in order to get the train back on the rails (and well, I only said no double posting in accordance with normal forum rules). Circumstances like this one are unexpected.

 

Add Cormag, remove Rhea, and revive Roy.

 

Roy is very much a more neutral revive than my others (I do like him), but I think we are owed him by Koei Tecmo. They're the ones who intentionally held him and Ike back for a sequel that hasn't happened. And so, the roster is factually incomplete without him.

I know you're upset about Brom, but I think that a free lock per person would probably destroy any ability to future proof the competition as more people join, and certainly undermine the popularity contest aspect of this. And I say that as someone who knows his absolute favorites are unlikely to make the cut.

 

However, I think we can perhaps compromise between your suggestion and Morgan--Grandmasters, and provide everyone with a free lock into a "DLC round." Everyone's lock would be guaranteed to progress into such a lightning round, along with any character that has 3 or 4 revives, but didn't manage the full 5. Then the top 12 characters could be voted in as dlc.

 

Discuss if interested in such a concept.

Based on what I've seen the last three days, I'm not sure a lot of people are really gonna get in on this, if I'm being honest, and it gets LESS likely more people join the longer this goes. That's been the pattern for basically every game on these forums. Right now, I don't know if any character will even reach 5 revives, it looks like only four or five people are dedicated to this and that isn't enough for any revival lock.

The compromise idea seems overly complicated and wouldn't really solve anything. If anything, it'd just make people MORE upset about some character choices.

How about this. We can lock one character per person now (change them later if they win naturally) and decide what to do with them later based on turnout.

No, since it's well outside of the original scope of the gauntlet. But you should vote anyway.

 

Perhaps the label should be Reservations over Personal Locks. 

 

You can reserve whoever you want and you can change it later as situations change.

 

(I went with Nasir because I think he would add more to the game. And be a blast to play.)

Sure, and I do apologize, I'm not trying to be difficult. Maybe the personal locks could just be one extra character per person with a guaranteed slot on the roster, but not on the base roster we're voting on. Not quite DLC, either, if we want to actually do a DLC round. More like "free DLC," if that makes sense? I know I'm not describing that very well, apologies.

Personal lock Brom, remove Shinon, add Nils, revive Nino. Tons of Tellius and hardly any Elibe so far (says the man locking Brom, haha).

Copy Paste Problem, the last thing I copied before Priam is Kris name for another thing, but somehow my keyboard didn't register me copying Priam.

I don't understand the idea of personal lock so I am going to stay out of it for now.

Remove Lethe, Add Asugi because Dagger AoE Debuff in warriors game would be busted and I am all for that, Revive Lystithea.
