How often do treasure chests appears throughout the series

So I'm playing the first level of Verdant Wind, I'm actually getting my ass handed to me by the bandits because it's just me and Claude. Got the rest of the gang showing up...And I realized that I forgot to buy some keys, again. While resetting isn't that big of a problem, it's kind of hit me that this game can be heavy-handed with the chests.  At least, early on, you usually get a free key or two to open them; not that it matters much on account on how rich that I am, at this point.

 

I would reclass Ignatz into a thief or assassin, in the future, but it's not really worth it since 3H is revolves around small unit tactics as opposed to dropping 20 of your dudes in a war.

 

But hey, at least the entire game wasn't a complete  cakewalk. Lystehia one-shotted the Death Knight in the previous level, had to deal against Edelgard with a stacked spreadsheet... And it also turns out that mage Byleth breaks the game with Lorenz's deluxe

 

Oh, wait. It IS a cakewalk, because of the unpromoted unit spam.

By the way, the chapter you just played is considered one of the worst designed chapters in 3H, especially in the context of Maddening.

Not going to do Awakening, Fates, and 3H for now. But this should help answer your query.

I'd add that 3H feels like it forced chests into a bunch of maps. They don't seem as "naturally" present to me.

I meant his Relic, I've been missing out on sleep, lately.

 

So, what's wrong with that map? Aside from the first two turns?

It helps any mage, really (albeit with HP loss for crestless mages).

The fact you start with only two units. Also, the part where your units start scattered. And then there's the part where you're restricted to your-in-house units, which sucks extra hard, especially since every house has units that are just terrible relative to everyone else. The Golden Deer have it the worst by far imho, largely because with the exception of Claude, the Deer boys are just... not good, and the fact that the other houses at least get a Physic user in the first wave of reinforcements, whereas Marianne doesn't show up until the hard part is over. Also, you have 9001 mega speedy enemies.

 wasnt 3H also had chest outdoor?

but to sum it up about the OP question, chest appears quite often. once every two maps on average i think? since theres dedicated chest opener class
