I've noticed that there isn't a concept thread for written works (at least not on the first page) like on the Fan Projects subforum, so I thought I create one here. Here, you can show your previews or ideas for others that you'd like to share, discuss, and get feedbacks on - FE-related or otherwise.

Mods, can we have this pinned on the subforum?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've got three ideas of fanfics with mock-LP footages that I am working on, after I finish off Fates Conquest (see my signature).

The first one is a fanfic retelling Three House's Crimson Flower, but with some Verdant Wind chapters and plotlines included. Here, Claude joins Edelgard's conquest during the Five-Year War of Fodlan, which I originally posted in Reddit:

Spoiler

White Clouds Arc

The interesting here is how Edelgard is more successful in her own route than in others. I say, the White Clouds part would be a character development arc for both Edelgard, Byleth, and their other classmates. So we all know how everyone, including TWISTD, the other Adrestian nobles, and even Eadie's own family only sees her as a political tool? Well, her time with Byleth was her first regain in trust and faith in humanity, further expanded to include other close friends and trusted allies like Dorothea, Petra, and even Caspar, Linhardt and others.

Sooner or later, Edelgard realised that the Adrestian nobles and TWISTD weren't her only allies, and they should not be. While she was reluctant at first, Byleth insisted on poaching other students that were similarly crest victims. And although Byleth did not realise until years later, it turned out, it worked out great for both Edelgard and Claude too, as they wanted to find out more about each other without arousing the other's suspicion. Lysithea in particular (and by extension, Claude) found out about the tragedy of the crest experiments Edelgard has gone through. In return, she also mentioned her suspicions of Claude being Almyran in her modified support conversation with Edelgard.

Meanwhile, Leonie gradually found out why Jeralt and Byleth were seemingly distant to each other, seemingly seldom acknowledging each other as family. It turned out, Jeralt felt he needed to protect Byleth from Rhea (due to the canon events from Jeralt's diary). She felt awful about not being as supportive to Byleth, and swore to protect her no matter what. On another note, Manuela was gradually becoming frustrated with the narrow-minded behaviour of the church - including it's bloodthirsty dogma and it's eagerness to cover up other incidents seen from Chapter 3-5, and started to wonder whether there was more to the rebellions. Hanneman, on the other hand, was frustrated by how the church limited his crest research, and how they dismissed the tragedy from Hanneman's family as just some bad apples in the nobility. Just days before the fateful event on Chapter 11, Byleth walked into Hanneman and Manuela, surprised by their rare civilzed and earnest conversation. This rose further yellow flags in Byleth's mind...

This could have been easily reversed, however at the end of Chapter 11, as Edelgard's invasion into the Holy Mausoleum came at the worst possible moment. And for a moment, Byleth wasn't exactly sure whether Edelgard could still be saved, or whether she was a lost cause. After all, Byleth's dad was murdered by people associated by the Flame Emperor. This was one case where Edelgard and Byleth's friendship could have gone all wrong...

But Byleth had no interest in beheading anyone before asking questions, unlike Rhea. After all, she is a teacher now, not a private military contractor like her yesteryears. She insisted on detaining Edelgard first and find out if there were any legitimate greviances, a peaceful handover, and some management and policy updates to prevent any future uprisings. Rhea, however, wanted none of that. And this was when Byleth decided that Rhea cannot be trusted. At least, she had a better idea of how Edelgard came to be - deep down, beneath the seemingly cold-hearted Emperor was a sad girl, emotionally trapped, and politically tangled. Not to mention, she wasn't as creepy as Rhea is. To the disbelief of many of her students, she stood alongside with the new Emperor. And to the even bigger disbelief of said students, they witnessed Rhea's transformation into a dragon. They all fled out of the mausoleum, in shock at how bloodthirsty Rhea was.

Even after Byleth sides with Edelgard, however, stating that Byleth and her other students from Black Eagles would have some stern words for their former class head would be an understatement. At the same time, Byleth gradually started to understand how Edelgard and her father was powerless against other power-hungry nobles and officials. From then on, Byleth renew her oath with Edelgard, to help her further regain her faith in humanity. "Just don't do anything reckless and secretive anymore," she asked Edelgard in exchange.

Crimson Flower: Chapter 12 and Timeskip

While some of their classmates were initially hesitant about joining the invasion during March 1181 (the weeks leading up to Chapter 12) and sometimes even a few years after that, they ended up being swayed, both by Edelgard's propaganda, her more sensitive and in-touch attitude towards commoners, and by other classmates who knew her better.

  • Lysithea was already disaffected by the church due to her trauma from crests being unaddressed.
  • Sylvain also had hardships from his crests thanks to the people around him, and especially Miklain, and he was generally disaffected by the political instability in Faerghus. His family disowned Sylvain after his defection, however.
  • Annette was swayed by her uncle to continue supporting Edelgard, as he himself decided to do so after being fed up with the political instability with Faerghus.
  • After Annette's return to Dominic Province, she pleaded to her uncle to take Mercedes in for a while. Baron Dominic appointed Mercedes as one of the surgeons for his troops. In 1185, Mercedes was headhunted by Edelgard to rejoin the Black Eagles as Manuela's assistant. While Mercedes still believed in the Goddess, she was also disaffected by the church's complicity with crests when it brought her nothing but hardship. Her and Manuela's disaffection became part of what was to become the Protestant movement in Fodlan in the years after the Great War of 1185.
  • Manuela, similar to Byleth, ended up losing respect for Rhea. In comparison, she had a much better relationship with Edelgard, who at least learned to trust others and readily accepted Manuela's wisdom. She became the general surgeon for the Black Eagles Strike Force after Chapter 12, and eventually for the whole army by 1185, and she was one of the first commoners to be appointed to the position in generations. This also served to be the benchmark of how to introduce commoners to high government positions: starting small, and working the way up. (This is also true of any successful development projects in developing nations that don't have the expertise or the experience like more developed nations do.)
  • While Hanneman was more hesitant in supporting the Empire, he couldn't really cut ties with the place and family he grew up with. While he still remained skeptical of what Edelgard tried to achieve, he decided to at least give the benefit of the doubt after losing out on church politics.
  • While Ignaz was not too enthusiastic about supporting the Empire initially, he kept in touch with other units he had a support conversation with, such as Petra, Shamir, Lysithea, or Mercedes. Seeing that they are doing well under their new master made him decide that working for the Empire might not be so bad. It wasn't until Byleth came back to Garreg Mach that Ignatz decided to formally pledge allegiance to the Empire, however.
  • Leonie initially stayed with the Black Eagles for Chapter 12, but after Byleth became MIA, Leonie left for a while. She undergoes similar revelations as Ignaz when she corresponds with Bernadetta and Alois. While Lorenz and Lysithea's families pledged allegiance to the Empire long before, Leonie similarly formalised her allegiance only after Byleth returned.

As for why the Empire doesn't seem to make apparent progress during the five year timeskip, this was due to a combination of factors:

  • Edelgard's insisted in stabilising the domestic situation, and the territories on former Western Faerghus. This meant:
    • stimulating the economy on both so that she could indirectly raise more revenue without the additional burdens.
    • cleaning up the other nobles - both through Edelgard siding with the commoners, and pitting Edelgard's political enemies against TWISTD - to remove political corruption and recover more of the appropriated taxes
  • She also decided that she needed to cultivate relationships beyond the other high-rank nobles within her government and with TWISTD and consolidate her authority. More on that later down this post.
  • While she managed to win Garreg Mach during Chapter 12, the loss was high enough to dissuade her to fund further campaigns in the immediate future. Furthermore, Rhea decided to bail out, seeing her own base hopelessly overrun.
    • This turned out to be the right choice for Rhea in the short term, because she snuck out before Imperial Troops started occupying the Monastery proper. As for the troops themselves, they either couldn't capture her as she had already evacuated, and/or didn't bother doing so as this wasn't their primary objective...yet. And the presence of Rhea in CF boosted morale in the Kingdom and the populace and the territories were either happy to make her de facto leader, or were too intimidated to oppose her - maybe with the exception of the western territories.
    • In the short-term, this was a setback for the Empire, and they became more cautious about engaging with the Kingdom in a fight. Instead Edelgard and Ferdinand started proxy wars and orchestrated rebellions across Western Faerghus and part of Leicester through possible recruits such as Baron Dominic and Annette for the former and Count Gloucester and Lorenz for the latter. The former was quite successful (if you recruited Annette - as I have done), the latter less so. It was enough to distract both Faerghus and Leicester for a while, however.

------------------------------------------------------------

Crimson Flower: Chapter 13 onwards

Claude's faction remained neutral at first, partly because of him still being suspicious of Edelgard, and also because of the alliance still being shaky. Nevertheless, he gradually caught wind from some of his former classmates who had contacts with Edie and Byleth. While some of the Leicester duchies initially resisted against the Adrestian Army, the Battle of Myrddin Bridge was a wake-up call for others to surrender. Claude's call for defense was overruled by Count Gloucester, who made a "vote of no confidence" with two other represented houses (say, Edmund and Goneril). It didn't help that Judith was captured for political leverage. Therefore he was forced to call a truce after the canon!CF's Chapter 13. The battle in Chapter 14 never happens, and Hilda survives. Parts of VW would be incorporated, including Judith being released back to Claude's team.

Initially it still took some power play from Edelgard to make sure Claude wouldn't backflip. It didn't take long, however, for Claude to realise the potential Almyran street cred gains he'll have for ousting the Church and TWISTD. In fact, Edelgard found out more about Almyra sometime before, and found out about Almyra's kingship. It was a bit of a gamble as she wasn't 100% sure about the information, but the offer was too good to pass up for Claude. It also helped that everyone in general are eager to work together again, Ferdinand and Lorenz ironed out the power-sharing, Edelgard here is more "strategic" or "diplomatic" with her ruthless behavior, and her and Claude's other major goals actually complemented well. They now had two things in common: a) Rhea (and maybe some of the other upper cardinals as well) needs to resign from the head of the Church; and b) discrimination based on one's heritage and other immutable aspects of their identity (crests, race, social standing) needs to be fought against.

If Manuela and Hanneman survives and gets recruited into Crimson Flower, further support for the emperor came from them (and Mercedes if also recruited). They formed the Reformation Movement of the Church of Seiros, educating and debating with other Seiros monks that either sided with the Empire, or stayed neutral with the Alliance. Their mission was not necessarily abolish the church, but to reform it. Their investigation of the monastery and the archives behind revealed many inconsistencies between the histories recorded and the ones taught by Rhea. Edelgard initially took a hardline stance against such church activities (and would have remained so in non-CF routes). However, her negotiation and compromise (and her better understanding of Manuela and Hanneman's doctrine) encouraged other church members who were previously on the fence to side with the Empire, and she even won some allies who previously sided with Rhea. On a side note, in the poswar years, Hanneman and Linhardt would direct archaeological expeditions in Oghma and other areas that fell within the former Nabathean territory.

In addition, Edelgard showed her first signs of effective leadership, gradually but surely appointing former commoners and lesser nobles to vacant administration positions. She was strict, yet fair and merciful.

  • Ignaz's family was initially appointed to take care of the internal trade in the Alliance territory, but were gradually given additional responsibilities over the ensuing years, eventually being responsible for ministering and maintaining the vast network of highways. Ignaz's brother Perez would be appointed as the Minister of Highways and Trade, while Ignaz himself initially became the chief surveyor with his meticulous drawings before becoming an proper artist.
  • If Raphael and Leonie maxed out their supports with Ignaz, then the two would guard the Alliance highways from time to time when they're not immediately needed for the Strike Force. They would later be the Chief Protectors of the Highways travelling across Fodlan and inspecting the safety of the merchants and other travellers. Raphael's sister Maya would be appointed for the reorganized horse relay system under Imperial charter, which she used her family's inn as one of the relay stations. Maya eventually reorganized the system into the Imperial Post after being promoted to Postmistress-General of Fodlan.
  • Manuela (or maybe Mercedes), on the other hand, was appointed as the Black Eagle's surgeon-general, and worked in a couple of provinces training local doctors after the war, before becoming the Imperial health minister.
  • Dorothea was the wartime propagandist, commissioning by her favorite Edie to go on show tours for relief and war expenditure fundraising. Through her songs, she talked about the history of injustice in Fodlan and encouraged people to stand up against the old church order. After the war, she, alongside with Edelgard and Manuela set up the patronage system for aspiring artists and eventually founded the Fodlan Artistry Academy.
  • Then there was Bernadetta - a noble, but nevertheless a victim of the nobility - who was initially appointed as one of the gardeners for the Imperial Farm and Conservatory, and eventually becoming the agricultural minister, informing farmers of new land improvements for better crop yields, less periods of rationing necessary, and more tax revenue for the Empire.
  • Hilda here not only survives in this modified CF route, but actively sides with the Empire, initially in duress due to Claude's instructions, but increasingly under hew own volition as she gradually found her own footing. Her hobby of creating fashionable accessories gradually grew in popularity, initially amongst the Strike Force, then amongst the greater Empire-Alliance coalition, and eventually across Fodlan. After the war, she found Fodlan Artistry Academy with her former wartime comrades.

There was still the issue of Edelgard's unholy alliance with TWISTD, but Claude understood the method behind, and at any rate, it helped that they were gradually rendered powerless by Edelgard distancing herself from them better thanks to her new allies she cultivated over the years.

  • She, along with Caspar and Linhardt also encouraged the latter two's fathers to distance themselves away from TWISTD and believe more in the Black Eagles proper. It's probably implied in the canon CF route as well considering Eadie's association with the rest of the Black Eagles, but I'd like to emphasize this further here.
  • The gradual appointment of Edelgard's immediate allies and particularly fellow Black Eagles members into important government positions was also done to empower them as a political counter to the existing nobility and their TWISTD allies. It helped that some of them became very popular, such as Dorothea. (See above)
  • Thanks to Byleth's return, Claude's alliance, and the general improvements of the average quality and morale of Adrestian soldiers, Edelgard enjoyed reliable non-TWISTD human resources that helped reduce her reliance on TWISTD.
  • As TWISTD had no idea about the Empire's financial situation, they didn't realise that they've been gradually outfunded by other factions. Lord Arundel caught wind of it sometime between Chapter 15 and 16, but by that time, it was too late. As Edelgard's cause gained popularity and as she also granted amnesty for defecting, TWISTD even lost some of their rank-and-file members. The Arianrhod Incident immediately after CF Chapter 16 turned out to be their last desperation attempt in intimidating Edelgard. In the short-term, they managed to put a dent into Edelgard's war effort. They were doomed in the long-term, however, as the launching of the Javelin gave away their location.

The invasion into Faerghus and vanquishing of Dimitri and Rhea generally goes as canon CF, but with more tragedy in terms of Dimitri. Claude and Edelgard desparately pleads their cases, and asks Dimi to lay down his weapons against them, but to no avail. After Rhea's downfall, Hubert and Lord Arundel exchange celebratory drinks amidst the burning city, only for Arundel to collapse, revealing that Hubert poisoned him to death.

------------------------------------------------------------

Modified Verdant Wind: Chapter 14 onwards

Edelgard and Hubert immediately returns to the monastery to research TWISTD's location, while their scouts reconnoitered Shambahla. From this point, I'll do a modified VW route starting from VW's Chapter 14 where Byleth and Claude reunites at Garreg Mach. One by one, CF characters (recruited in the actual game) joins Byleth and Claude's mission to eradicate uppity TWISTD units. All references to imperial soldiers are replaced with TWISTD, and the chapter narratives are reinterpreted to reflect Edelgard and Adrestia proper being an ally in replacement of the now-defunct Church.

  • VW's Chapter 14-16 will not see any major differences other than CF characters replaced by generic units and rebranded as TWISTD.
  • Chapter 17 will be a three-way battle between Faerghus loyalist remnants, TWISTD, and The Allies (Adrestia proper, Leicester, and Faerghus revolutionaries).
  • Chapter 18 is omitted entirely as Adrestia's proper military would look illogically pathetic if TWISTD takes over the Imperial fort.
  • Chapter 19 would focus on one part of Enbarr, while Edelgard and Hubert combats TWISTD elsewhere. Hubert could be replaced as another TWISTED big shot (Methodey?)
  • Chapter 20 is omitted, obviously because Edelgard is an ally in this modified VW route.

After a month of recuperating, Claude, Edelgard, and Byleth leads their allies into the TWISTD base and rout the lot. Here, the finale would incorporate VW's Chapter 21-22. While there were still some stragglers to deal with, with Shambala destroyed and all of the TWISTD's big shots dead, TWISTD would face its inevitable downfall.

------------------------------------------------------------

Epilogue

After that, discussions of dividing up the various territories commenced:

  • Ferdinand being responsible for the eastern half of the former Adrestia territory, while either Hubert or Hanneman with Byleth (if she remained single) took over the western half, with Edelgard continuing as Emperor. After several years of handover period, Byleth would oversee the western half, and Hubert would be recalled to Garreg Mach to directly serve Edelgard, and Hanneman would return to his crest research full-time. Hubert, Ferdinand, and Edelgard would check up on Byleth every now and then to make sure she's running her part of the country well. Alternately, if Byleth is married to Edelgard, Byleth would take over most of Edelgard's previous responsibilities once Edelgard is voted as Governor of United Fodlan.
  • After a two-year handover period, Lorenz (and his wife (inc Byleth) if married) would lead the former alliance territories after Claude leaves for Almyra.

Initially Lorenz and Edelgard would divide up Faerghus, but if any of the Blue Lions students are recruited, the the following would occur:

  • Sylvain, Ingrid, or Felix would oversee the northern half of Faerghus. If Sylvain or Felix is married to Byleth, then the two co-rule over Northern Faerghus.
  • Anette (or her uncle's family), or Ashe would oversee the southern half. If Ashe is married to Byleth, then they co-rule Southern Faerghus.

As for Brigid, instead of becoming independent, it decides to join the new United Fodlan Republic as a territory separate to Adrestia. Here, Petra (and her husband if married) becomes the first Governor of the new Brigid territory and joins United Fodlan as a Councillor.

A council of the region's leaders would congregate at Garreg Mach, now the new capital of United Fodlan. While Edelgard assumes the head of the new Republic for most of the initial 2-3 decades, Lorenz, Sylvain, and Ferdinand would lead the new Empire from time to time. It oversaw the gradual eradication of TWISTD, a new period of peace and prosperity, and an establishment of diplomatic relationships with Almyra with Khalid/Claude as its new Shah/King. A few generations later, Almyra joins the union with Khalid's granddaughter as one of the governors elected into the United Council at Garreg Mach.

So basically, this is a Crimson Flower and Verdant Wind merged together, and what could have been if Edie's diplomacy was far more successful. I've also aimed to address some of the key criticism against how certain details of CF weren't fleshed out properly. Feel free to deconstruct and reassemble in any way you like.

The second one is a crossover between the Pokemon Anime in XY, and Fire Emblem: Binding Blade in a closer depiction to real-life Europe, and a modern reenactment of World War 2 with some variations, which I've linked in shared document format from my Icedrive cloud.

The third one is not really FE, but Persona (though it has a TMSFE whatif arc branching out from the ending of Persona 4). Basically my retelling of Persona 3 to Persona 5's stories. (Also in shared doc format from my Icedrive cloud.) The major differences from canon are:

Spoiler
  • more involvement of characters from other number entries involved or influencing with the plot of the number in question, particularly Masayoshi Shido, Principal Kobayakawa, and Suguru Kamoshida in Persona 4, and Naoto Shirogane and the Shadow Operatives in Persona 5.
  • a somewhat more lighthearted and more idealistic depiction of Persona 3 and 5's stories and a more cynical and darker depiction of Persona 4's
  • minor rewrites with Yukiko and Kanji's social links, complete overhaul of Naoto's social link, and a reassignment of the P4 Empress social link from Margaret to Sayuri
  • adding in, or expanding the characteristics of, the main party member's parents and relatives:
    • Sayuri Dojima-Narukami (National Police Agency's senior-ranked bureaucrat, Yu's mother, and deuteragonist in Persona 4-5)
    • Sakura Amagi (Head of Amagi Inn, Yukiko's mother, and Sayuri's classmate and childhood friend)
    • Akio Amagi (Yukiko's father)
    • Zenichi Tatsumi (Former storekeeper of Tatsumi Textiles, Kanji's father, and Sayuri/Sakura's childhood friend from middle school)
    • Mitsue Tatsumi (Kanji's mother shown in game)
    • Naoto Shirogane IV (Past Detective Kings, and canon!Naoto's father, Sakura's high-school friend, and Sayuri's star-crossed sweetheart)
    • Isamu Dojima (Yaso-Inaba Police Station chief, later retired Fukushima Prefectural Police senior officer, and Sayuri/Ryotaro's father (and Yu/Nanako's grandfather))
    • Haruka Dojima (Sayuri/Ryotaro's mother (and Yu/Nanako's grandmother))
    • Naoto Shirogane III (Past Detective King, Isamu's consultant, Naoto IV's father, and canon!Naoto's grandfather)
    • Hirotsugu Narukami (name not finalised; Psychology professor and Yu's father)
    • Yuko Narukami (Hirotsugu''s sister and Yu's aunt)
    • Takaisa Amamiya (Ren's grandfather and Sayuri's immediate supervisor at work)
  • paralogues involving Sayuri - both as flashbacks from her high school days in Yaso-Inaba, and her work in Washington DC with the FBI concurrent to P4's main story
  • making Tokyo Mirage Sessions as an alternate timeline branch from Persona 3-4 - Sayuri and Naoto's prosecution against the Conspiracy happens far earlier and more successfully, and as a result Persona 5's story never happens.
  • adding relationships between TMSFE and Persona 3-5 characters:
    • Itsuki Aoi: His father having worked with Sayuri in past cases as a chief prosecutor
    • Eleonora Yumizuru: Goes to the same Metropolitan High School Yu graduated from
    • Maiko Shimazaki: Mentee of fellow Keio University graduate and industry leader Kyoka Ochimizu
    • Mahiro Tsurumi: Formerly cooperated as an investigative journalist with fellow Kyoto University graduate Takaisa Amamiya. Informant of, and currently cooperates with Sayuri in investigating, Masayoshi Shido's political corruption scandal.
    • Kuen Tarachino: Fellow Waseda University graduate with Takeharu Kirijo and Sayuri Dojima-Narukami

Uh, did you copy-paste this or something?  It looks atrocious on my theme.  If you'd like, I can attempt to fix this.

As for what I'm working on, I'm butchering a whole lot of characters in Let's Plays.  I'm also working on a personal project which I suspect will be measured in years.

should be working on my Silver Route Support stuff. I've had dozens of ideas for months, but I'm stuck on most of them. It's like looking through a window and seeing two people talk. I can guess what they're talking about, but I can't hear the words...and with supports, that's the most important part.

What I am doing is noodling on a few fun concept ideas from most fleshed-out to least fleshed-out:

A modern day AU fanfiction of Awakening with Sacred Stones, Fates, Heroes, The Dragon Prince, and a few other FE entries incorporated. I'm not gonna write this, but I like noodling on it.

Spoiler

The backstory as of now is that is:

F!Robin (now called Raven) and Chrom were high school sweethearts who ultimately became teenage parents. Raven gave birth to Lucina and Innes, but an accident soon struck after, leaving her in a coma. She woke up five years later only to find that Chrom had moved on and had started a family with Olivia in the meantime...but only after "reconciling" with Chrom. After a traumatic incident trying to reconnect with her children, Raven ultimately gives up custody rights and moves as far away as she can.

About thirteen years later, Raven is moving back to the city with her three children - the eldest Mark and twins boy and girl Troy and Paris - after the death of her husband Priam. Working at the firm of on Xander Nohr, Raven finds herself the object of attention from her boss' best friend and business rival, Ryoma Hoshido.

Raven's gifted thirteen year old son Mark starts high school with a solid group of other gifted friends and peers, but the pressure of high school will either forge these friends in its fire, or shatter them like glass.

Meanwhile Chrom is trying to move forward after the death of his wife Olivia when the rich and twice-widowed Mikoto walks into his life during a parent-teacher meeting evening at their children's high school. Neither of them are looking for love, but together they may find solace.

However, Chrom's family life is just as fractured as his heart:

The eldest, Lucina, deals with the abrupt parting of her twin and, with the help of her roommates Corinne (F!Corrin) and Mozu, deal with all the drama a freshman at college must endure, things her sheltered family life couldn't fully prepare her for, from classes to mentorship and mental health to parties to boys - including the eldest brother of one of her new roommates.

His second son Alfonse is dealing with being the class president in his senior year of high school, his sudden breakup with his ex Eir, and the curious case of why Innes forsook the family name.

High School Junior Tana is now the captain of the Pegasus Cheer Team, but keeping her family together - and trying to get Ephraim's attention - prove her most difficult challenges yet.

Inigo is now a Sophomore, and desires to break free from the Drama Club Nerds clique he's found himself a part of. An internship at Xander Nohr's company should help. However, one day, he catches a glimpse of his father's aide, the mysterious Azura Valla, and now has a new goal.

Twins Sharena and Peony are ready to spread their wings their Freshman year of College, but with so many expectations and reputations already upon them, there may not be enough of a place for them to spread their own wings.

The story starts a few weeks before the beginning of the school year, as Robin gets accustomed to her new job, and starts in earnest during the school year.

Other pieces of information:

Lucina has a fear of birds due to something in her past that she can't remember.

Chrom and Raven are in their mid-to-late thirties.

Xander and Ryoma are mid-twenties.

Mikoto is about 40 or so, and has been married twice (Anankos and Sumeragi) and was the girlfriend of King Harrow from The Dragon Prince before his untimely passing. She isn't in legal custody of Harrow's sons, but looks after them as if she was. Mikoto has also earned the reputation of being something of a Black Widow, given the death of three paramours. She's also in legal custody of the not-yet-legal Nohr children, and has been for the past 5 or so years, after Garon was arrested and prosecuted, and Arete was put in the hospital.

Eirika and Ephraim are Azura's younger siblings. The twins try to get along with Azura, but Arete's actions have made it hard. This would culminate in a moment where Ephraim yells that Azura isn't his sister or Eirika's sister, and that they'll continue on, just like they've always done. This would spin Azura into a panic attack and something of a breakdown, since she doesn't feel like she belongs to any group or person. Inigo would help her out, and the two would actually run away for a time. (This action would coincide with Alfonse finding Innes' location, and ultimately lead to the Big Reveal of Raven & Chrom's past...and Mark's biological parentage.)

Arete was the wife of Fado, before Garon seduced her and she left to be with him. Arete took Azura, but left behind Eirika and Ephraim.

Garon also seduced identical twin sisters into being his mistresses, and played them off each other. The resulting children were Camilla, Leo, and Lyon, making the three technically full-blooded siblings. The latter two are twins.* (Although fraternal and not identical, clearly.)

Henry and Lissa are married. Henry is a famous mystery/horror/thriller writer while Lissa works as a school counselor. Lissa is the first person outside of Mark's direct family to find out that Mark is Chrom's son.

Robin (M!Robin) and Tharja are married but separated at the moment. Tharja knew about and supported Chrom and Olivia's secret (and then later not-so-secret) relationship, and Robin didn't. When he found out, it caused enough of a fracture for them to separate. Their journey is about how to get back to where love reigns supreme, and how Corinne fits into their new relationship.

Mark has a crush on Sakura. It will not end well for him.

Lucina is a business and poly-sci dual major. Corinne is a poly-sci major. Mozu is a business and food science major.

Chrom knows exactly why Innes disappeared - Innes left to start his own company. The older Innes got, the more strained his relationship with Olivia became as Innes started to look less like Chrom and more like Raven. One day Innes found an old picture of Chrom and Raven with him and Lucina as babies. He confronted his parents, they had a blowout fight, and their relationship more or less died. They all stayed civil towards each other. Ultimately, Innes and Olivia had one last argument, which at the end of it, Innes renounced his inheritance. Olivia died a little while later. Once he graduated high school and turned 18, Innes did so legally, and left to pursue make a man of himself.

Innes was the former Archery club champion, a title he handed over to Takumi, and left. Currently, as a sort of side-hustle to his start-up, Innes tutors a blue-haired kid named Mark in archery. (Yes, he knows Mark is his younger brother. And yes, he and Raven have met. They don't officially acknowledge each other as of yet, but they are getting closer in this pre-arranged setting. Mark knows nothing yet.)

Stahl and Cordelia are the parents of (potentially Seth), Syrene, Severa, and Vanessa. Severa may or may not be Chrom's kid, since the man had multiple affairs (most of them around the same time he first got together with Olivia, but sometimes they had them together. It was only after Alfonse and Tana were born did they close the relationship). This has strained Stahl and Cordelia's relationship like no other, but both of them are in Individual Counseling and Marriage Counseling to work through this. Stahl doesn't want to know the truth since he loves Severa all the same, and the truth doesn't change what happened; Cordelia doesn't want to know the truth because she feels like the answer will leave her with guilt and shame, no matter the result; Severa doesn't want to know the truth because she feels as if she'll be treated differently. It's very dysfunctional. (Also, Stahl named Vanessa. Cordelia named the rest.)

Olivia was in charge of a dance studio, one that worked sort of like an after-care place for young students with dysfunctional families. There she met, helped, and mentored girls like Tethys and Azura. Chrom's main arc will not only be about accepting Mikoto into his life, but accepting both the good and bad that he and Olivia have done. Their actions have brought so much pain into the world, and broke families. But they've also brought wonderful children and are/were solid mentors. Accepting the person - flaws and all - is their goal.

Xander's company was originally named Garon Inc. but they changed it to Grado inc. after Garon was arrested. Grado would have ben Garon's father's name in this canon.

Corrin/Cory (M!Corrin) is dating Camilla, and it weirds everyone out.

I have a weird moment in my head where all of the couples more or less meet for breakfast at one point. Most likely after the Homecoming dance, since that's a big moment for many character arcs, and would propel the story forward for many characters. And yes, it would be incredibly awkward.

(Raven wouldn't be there. Raven and Mikoto also would have unofficially met the night before, since Sakura and Mark would have gone to Homecoming together.)

*I've actually seen this happen before! My friend's wife is an identical twin, and my friend and her have identical twin sons. Twins run in the family!

A Fire Emblem game that has some Victoria and Napoleonic era aesthetics. The idea was inspired by Brian McClellan's Powder Mage series; and was asking how to work gunpowder into a Fire Emblem game. It sort of spun off into it's own thing.

Spoiler

Currently calling it Fire Emblem: Storms of Glory. It's currently combined with another FE game idea I had called Throne of Tragedy (which in turn started out as a rewrite of the lore of the Fates world), and I'm liking how it's shaping up. I've got a nice core cast, a solid side-character unit or two, a few good backgrounds, some (hopefully) fun level objective ideas, and a creative world-building choices. Valkyria Chronicles 1 was a big inspiration as well. Some teasers:

The Pegasus Knights will be based on Mongolian culture.

The Fire Emblem will be a jewel-incasing necklace.

Fire-proficient mages are usually drafted in metallurgy places, so railroad tracks will have fire mages defending them and able to change pathways; and Blacksmiths will be proficient in fire magic.

ELEPHANT RIDERS.

A true SMTxFE crossover idea. (I already have an idea for a TMS sequel idea.)

Spoiler

Basically during the Sengoku war era, a warlord wanted to defeat Nobunaga. To do so, he hired a dark wizard to conjure up a spell. The wizard's spell was too powerful, and gave demons a gateway into the world. To save the world and Japan, Nobunaga hired a different sorcerer to counter the first spell. This sorcerer couldn't do that, but was able to send Japan into a different world...a new world where Pegasi exist, and magic can be used and taught freely. However, the presence of demons wasn't fully accepted, and these forces attacked Japan. Japan was able to harness the demons to defend their country from invaders through the power of something called the Fire Emblem, and soon brokered a peace with the outside world. Nobunaga disappeared not soon after, for reasons unknown.

Years/decades/centuries later, we follow a new group of samurai as they head out on some sort of grand adventure. (Undecided as of yet.)

The Fire Emblem is a magical amulet that every demon-contracting Samurai has. They can add spell tags (at a shop run by a Orochi-inspired Anna) to increase it's power, but ultimately that's the core device.

That's all I have at the moment, but I'm still noodling!

An Egypt/Spain hybrid Pokemon region

Spoiler

All I know is that MANY buildings will be inspired by architect Antoni Gaudi, and that there will be many Egpytian-based Variants. Mr. Buddy on YouTube has a short video covering some really cool Variant ideas that inspired part of this project. The Spanish stuff has been in my head for over a decade, but the rest is relatively new.

Well, let's see. Currently, I'm writing like over twenty different stories. Maybe close to thirty. Yes, some end up neglected as I focus more on others, but well, it happens. That said, I'm not... fully sure on sharing them all here. Well, I tried doing a first step on that, and I've yet to receive any feedback, negative or positive... but hasn't left me the desire to try again. Anyway, here's some stuff that I do intend to share about:

Recently, I've begun to brainstorm a Chrono Trigger fanfic idea.

Spoiler

It'd basically be my take on one of its usual fanfic hooks: "What if Schala had avoided her canon fate?" My initial idea is that basically Schala notices Marle's powered-up pendant after having warped everyone else out of the Ocean Palace, and in a brief moment where her self-preservation instincts win over her developing despairing nihilism, uses it to save herself and warp out too.

So far my plan is that she too is captured by Dalton's men and taken to the Blackbird like the party was in-game, where Dalton decides that as part of his "I'm the King now!" spiel, he'll force Schala to be his Queen. Fortunately for her, the heroes finds her while they are busting their way out themselves, and basically rescue her (and are surprised to see her since Schala didn't appeared near Last Village, but was making her way there before Dalton's men found her, thus the party wasn't aware yet she had survived too). And of course, there'd be the inevitable reunion with Janus, now Magus...

That's what I have so far. What I may do with Schala after... part of me feels she could become an honorary "party member", or just stay in Antiquity. I saw someone making a CT hack with a similar premise about Schala surviving where she joined them at the Fiona Woods campfire scene, which I found neat and would want to do my own take of it. But other than that... still not sure.

Next, I also have a fanfic I've actually started some time ago and got a couple thousand words by this point. It's a Legend of Zelda fanfic, with the focus being Minish Cap.

Spoiler

The story basically tackles the whole: "You can only give two of the Oracles housing while the third remains in the hotel for the rest of the game." Sure, it is because the sidequest was a reference to the fact the Oracle games are only two, so one being left out was deliberate, but I was like, "What if the remaining Oracle could also get a home to live?" And then it was... "What if said home was a Minish Home?" In the whole game Link is the only Hylian who gets to actually visit the Minish. Sure, it's because of Ezlo as he's the only one around who can (other than Vaati), but at no point in the game was like, "Hey, what if you need to bring so and so Hylian to a Minish place?" Well, I decided to write something like that.

For this particular idea, I went with Nayru as the Oracle to be the one joining the Minish. Why her? I guess I thought it more interesting if it was her. Admittedly between the oracles she is my favorite of the three. Anyway, the story overall wouldn't be some grand adventure or so, more like slice-of-life as Nayru gets used to what could potentially be her new home, while Link periodically shows up to check on her in cases she is having second thoughts when he returns to town between dungeons (well, by the time you can do the sidequest, there's not that many left to go). So yeah, just, Nayru getting used to the new home, meeting the new neighbors (now that will be fun to write when I get there, haha)... maybe there can be room for some actual "big" adventure. At the least, I do have in plan for her to end up visiting the Mountain Minish at some point. And then, of course, the fact that sooner or later Ezlo has to return to the Minish World, and the door won't open up again for a hundred years. Meaning Nayru has to decide if to give up on the home but return back to normal, or keep the home but also remain Minish sized. Though of course, for an Oracle of Time, what would be a hundred years wait...

But well! I'm still too early to tackle that part. Also need to flesh out what is going to the middle segment of the story. At least I have done most of the beginning. I'd share it, but I feel I need to write some more before properly showing it off.

Now last for now, something actually Fire Emblem related, taking place during Shadows of Valentia:

Spoiler

The main premise of the story would be that during the waiting between Acts 3 and 4, Sonya and Genny get captured by the Duma Faithful. Why those two? Admittedly, I like their interactions between each other the most among the SoV cast... and through some twisted logic, that's why I want to subject them through this. And some other reasons explained below. In any case, this is taken to its logical conclusion:

Shes A Witch And The Holy Grail Quotes Monty Python. QuotesGram

But wait, this is the start of the story? Why of course. Because the bulk of it is basically the two new witches' life among the Duma Faithful during the rest of the game's events. However, there's a catch. Both of them... ended up with much more of their own wills intact than most other witches after the losing their souls. They're still conditioned to blind loyalty and eternal servitude to Duma, but other than that, they're basically the same as ever. This is a deliberate decision since I want to make it uncanny. Where at first glance things may look more or less normal with both of them but with that remainder they're soulless husks. Who knows if I could pull it off successfully, but well, that's what I'm going to find out writing it.

There's lots of points I want the story to cover. Obviously, the whole "They encounter their old comrades at some point" is a given for the drama it may unfold, but I also have some others in mind. Like an also uncanny twisted family reunion. After all, Sonya's father is the head of the Faithful, and her sisters are also witches. The peculiarity of their witch transitions is also gonna receive be an answer, but that will be more by the end. Suffice to say, I plan for it to involve Duma himself. Mostly, however, what I want to do with this is that that peculiarity may potentially unleash a cascade effect on the other witches, as the two interact more and more with them as time passes.

Right now, I have already written something for this. Two versions, actually. Since one I'm already uploading it somewhere else... which I'm not keen on sharing just yet. The second version I will, but I'm gonna wait until I have more written before showing it off.

Well, this is a start I'd say. I'm gonna regret this in a few hours after waking up...

@eclipse: Also, a belated thanks to pinning this thread!

I've further updated my first draft plot for Crimson Flower and Verdant Wind. I've added a basic plot of the epilogue/Fodlan's post-War situation and also how Hilda participates in the modified CF timeline. See the very first post on this thread.

I appreciate that you left your posts there regardless.

I've got some, of all things, Mega Man Star Force fanfictions lying around, but they'll probably stay in planning for the next few months.

Well, even if I regret it, it doesn't mean I have to remove it, haha.

Star Force is the sequel series of Battle Network, was it. That something you dedicate mostly to, or is your writing more varied? Like, personally I can say I've spent almost two years writing almost exclusively for Fire Emblem stuff, though lately I am trying to branch out more into other stuff.

Admirable.

Yup, not as good at Battle Network in my opinion, but still a solid series. My writing is generally pretty varied (although I wouldn't trust my own diagnosis), but I became somewhat attached to these two projects and one of them demands to be a bit longer form. I think they're fairly interesting conceptually, although I'm not sure how deeply dependent they are on the Star Force setting- actual Star Force characters only show up directly in one of them and not exactly in centralizing roles that only they could fulfill. Gives me flexibility if I need some quick cash.

Man, completely forgot those series~! Speaking of which, Battle Network really hits me with the deja vu now that we have home appliances (beyond PC and maybe the TV) around the house being wired to the internet.

Come to think about it, are you all going to be uploading your non-FE stories here or elsewhere? As far as my Persona fanfic is concerned, there isn't a definitive Persona fan forum for me, so it might have to be Ao3 or Wattpad, with relevant links posted here and Bulbagarden Forums (with me being a member there).

Speaking of Bulbagarden, I've had a history chronology and geography textbook fiction for the Pokemon Gen 1-4 regions that I previously worked on. It's a reconstruction of the "Like real-life Japan unless noted" worldbuilding approach that was prevalent in Gen 1-2. I really should get around to resurrecting that.

Perhaps I'd do it here. That said, I also have a Fanfiction.net account which I also plan to upload stuff in there. And even a DeviantArt account (can't draw worth my life, made some time ago for unrelated stuff, so might as well give it a use and host written stuff there too).

How dare you.

But yeah, Battle Network was prophetic. Having a killer core gameplay loop certainly helped, it managed to salvage Star Force despite it only managing to predict social credit systems.

I have fanfiction.net and deviantart accounts under the same name, but I honestly haven't used them in years and I don't know if people actually use those websites anymore, or at least whether people go to them to find new stories. I could post them there, but to be honest I'll probably just post them here and share them around discord in the event that I finish them.

Yes, sort of. Except it's not going to be as fantasy-heavy, but would examine more of history and geopolitics.

DA at least. At least, comparing to the number of views of the same thing I uploaded to both. Barely over 100 views in Fanfiction.net, while over 1K in DA. So... the latter, definitely. Or Fanfiction.net just doesn't have much of the fic's target audience I guess.

Anyway, I added links to places I'll upload stuff to in the About Me area of my profile.

I further revised my next mock-LP/fanfic (Three Houses) I will do for Serenes. I decided to incorporate a modified VW Route with a lot of Photoshopping the footages to show the battle against the post-CF TWISTD instead of Adrestia proper. (And VW Chapter 17 will feature loyalist Faerghus remnants instead of Dimi's goons.) See the first spoiler tab of my original post.

On a different note, I might also do an AM x SS version where the ending isn't as happy:

Spoiler

Dimitri gradually started to see his revenge-addiction as a problem, but by this time, Byleth had enough. Her lingering distrust against Dimitri and Rhea now had blown to full acrimony. This ended up fracturing the whole Blue Lions regiment, with protestants such as Sylvain, Ashe, Mercedes (if she A-supported Sylvain or Byleth), and Annette (if she A-supported Mercedes with the aforementioned supports) rejecting Dimitri and Rhea's legitimacy, while loyalists such as Ingrid, Catherine, Cyril, and Flayn resenting Byleth for not disrespecting said authority, while others such as Felix and Annette (if any of the above supports are unmet) ended up feeling conflicted. Their common enemy in the form of Edelgard was the only thing keeping everyone together. And worse, it turned out, Byleth's faction was ultimately right.

Sure, Edelgard was stopped and the war has ended, but Dimitri turned out to be less capable at ruling and reforming than at fighting. It also did not help that the Empire was in some ways more attractive for the people - Edelgard may have been ruthless, but she granted opportunities and the social mobility people couldn't enjoy before, and the reports showed that Edelgard had a specific endgame in place, which Dimitri lacked. With Edelgard's supporters and even some of her opponents finding out the truth behind both the church and the Empire, it was a matter of time before the former Adrestian region and even some territories within Faergus would rebel against the Kingdom.

And this time, there wasn't a bloodthirsty Emperor to unite against. Felix witnessing Dimitri enforcing the status quo (out of his anti-Empire views) was the last straw, and now opposes Dimitri, his prolonged wartime footing, and his "know your place" mindset, and nearly forced him into a duel to the death. Byleth, Sylvain, and even Ingrid who finally caught wind of what Edelgard endeavored to achieve also now refuses to support Dimitri's governance. While the church (Cyril and Seteth in particular) desired to purge the rebels and to rein in the internal dissent, the Moderates who made in-roads into the Church's new management, including, Manuela/Hanneman/Marianne (if Byleth recruited them), Shamir (if Byleth bought her off), and Mercedes blocked this as well thanks to Byleth favoring them. It also didn't help that Rhea stood down from Archbishop after Byleth and Claude's requests, and Seteth and Flayn gradually lost their influences. Catherine too was no longer the hardliner she was after she had a long hard look at both herself and Rhea, and realized how much of a negative influence the latter ended up being.

In the end, the unrest was only quelled when Dimitri reluctantly stepped down from the throne, Felix, Ingrid, and Sylvain ran the government as a council, and together with Byleth started implemented the very reforms that Edelgard had wanted for all of Fodlan. While the older nobles who survived the war opposed such measures, they were powerless to stop the reforms imposed by the younger generation of war heroes. In the end, Edelgard had the last laugh from the grave...

Further update: I've completed the gameplay for my current LP!

  • 2 weeks later...

I think I'm a bit late to the party but I just finally got back into writing once again (I always go back to writing and music). I am currently working on the fully edited versions (through Chapter 6) of my Awakening Novelization, as well as an original work based in my own, original fantasy world centered around tons of different mythologies, themes and especially the size and creature types found in Soulsbourne franchise (a new found love of mine). I am also studying orchestral composition and film scoring in college that will hopefully keep the creative juices flowing.

  • 5 months later...

I've also got a possible re-write of the Pokemon Anime which definitely diverges from the last few episodes of Johto. Again, no guarrantees this will happen. Most likely, I'll have to do this without any fillers, and go arc by arc.

So I had a thought about an alternate Ash's journey after a discussion with another member in an reddit post who wanted to do a re-telling of Best Wishes.

So we know how Ash's skills gets reset every time Ash travels to a new region since Gen 3? (At least until Gen 8, and Gen 6 being a possible exception.) Well I thought what if I could keep Ash in this hypothetical show without resetting his levels once AG arc starts. He becomes a mentor to the next male protagonists who actually now has a anime equivalent. Another thing I'll change from the vanilla Anime is to describe in more detail of how the Pokemon league and Pokemon battle pastimes work. Actual suburbs outside main cities, and actual transportation routes would be explicitly depicted, and Trainer Routes would be depicted as nature reserves. Also, the first four regions from Kanto to Sinnoh would be within the same country, but Unova is specifically mentioned to be a state of an overseas country, and Kalos also another region in another continent and nation. It would be a reconstruction of how geography and urban planning works in a Pokemon setting. Finally some mainline-game-only characters whill appear in this fanfic, such as Will and Karen.

I'll have to warn you, though, I'm a bit of an Amourshipper. It's hardly going to be the focus here, but it might come up occasionally, especially in my XY arc, so just bear that in mind.

Spoiler

Johto Renewed
I'm not sure if I want to recap the entire story of Kanto or Johto, and for the sake of this, I'm just going to skip this. I might revisit this part later on, but I'll see how this goes. The actual change begins right after Ash's loss to Harrison. I'm going to retcon Mewtwo's story to happen right after the Johto Tournaments, when Lance asks Ash (now 12) , Gary, Harrison, and Co to further check out Mt Silver, one of the most secluded locations in the Kanto-Johto region. Turns out, Lance was right in being concerned with the area. As he had feared, Team Rocket were building up in the area, preparing to recapture Mewtwo. A re-telling of Mewtwo Returns happens. After that, Ash and his friends goes their separate ways in a episode similar to EP272 and 273 combined.

Advanced Generations Plus
I'll make Ash a veteran trainer, and have him sent to Hoenn by Lance. Most importantly, Ash would at least bring Charizard alongside Pikachu, and maybe even Heracross. As for the reason why Ash is in Unova, well, Steven asked the G-Men for help, and Lance decided to send Ash to reconnoiter Hoenn, or more accurately, Teams Aqua and Magma. Meanwhile, Ash was also to mentor a young and upcoming trainers Brendan and May, as per Professors Birch and Oak's requests. TRio would no longer make an appearance for a while. While Brendan does the badge collecting instead of Ash, May does the Contests as canon. While Brendan loses to Tyson, Steven is impressed enough to enlist Brendan for the G-Men in Hoenn and also to further train him.

Advanced New Frontier
Brendan decides to stay in Hoenn to help Steven protect Hoenn and further train, while May travels to Kanto to further her Contest skills. Ash (now 13) stays home for a while to catch up on schoolwork, but not before introducing May to Brock and Misty. Ash shows up from time to time mainly to re-challenge the gyms, namely, against Brock, Misty, Erika, and Sabrina, and properly win, once and for all. Ash re-challenges the Kanto League but loses in the Finals to Will [Yes, it's that Will from HGSS.], who proceeds to beat Prima/Lorelei. After that Team Rocket takes over Saffron City in an attempted coup against the National Government. While the Gym Leaders and the League Elites scramble to suppress the uprising, Ash and Co infiltrates Silph Co as in the games and kicks Team Rocket (and Giovanni who happened to be visiting) out of the office.

Diamond and Pearl Re-shined
Brendan would be sent over to Sinnoh to further train. He would also mentor Lucas and Dawn. Both of them would collect the Badges and participate in Concerts, and their respective rivals would be Barry and Ursula. Paul would be Brendan's rival in this case. The former looks down on the latter as a dumb hothead (though he'll be more acknowledging of Brendan's achievements), while the latter becomes incensed at the former's abuse of his Pokemon. While Brendan initially planned to stay out of the League Tournaments, he eventually relented and entered the league when he realised Paul was also entering. While Lucas lost to Paul, Paul lost to Brendan, while Brendan lost to Nando in the quarterfinals.

Heart Gold and Soul Silver
Thanks to Ash (now 14.5) and Lance, incidents with Team Rocket has been few and far in between, with Giovanni being more discreet about his activities. But still, they can't let their guard down. Jimmy, Lyra, and Marina also appear to join forces with Ash and Lance to stop Team Rocket from capturing the Legendary Beasts, making the majority of this arc a retelling of the Legend of Thunder. After that is solved, we see Ash (now 15) training for the upcoming Johto Conference, and his friends helping him. This time, Ash wins against Harrison, Lyra, and Ethan, and proceeds to the Elite Four matches for his revenge match against Will...only to utterly lose 6-0. It is clear that Ash need to further train if he is to get even a single foot onto the door leading to the Elite Hallway.

Further Best Wishes
Right before the end of the previous arc, we see Lance having a meeting with either Alder or Drayden, and the latter could ask the former to send Ash (now 16) in as one of the agents to investigate Team Plasma. Ash is to team up with Hilda and Hilbert and the three scramble across Unova to track down Team Plasma who are on the run. Hilda and Hilbert can explain to Ash what Team PLasma did 2 years prior to Ash's arrival as their take on the BW1 story. (It was an attempted uprising against the Columbian Government led by a Donald Trump expy.) Another thing I will mention is that, Unova is part of the United States of Columbia, and is overseas. So Ash will have to learn English quick. He'll have a lot of cultural misunderstandings in the meantime!

Every now and then, Ash, Hilda, and/or Hilbert could help Cilan mentor Iris (both demoted to semi-regulars), who in turn is the league challenger & badge collector. From Iris's victory against Skyla could be when BW2 would have been released, and BW2's story, including Ghetsis's attack on Opelucid and the storming of his airship happens as like the game. Iris's League Tournament happens after that, with Ash's reunion with all of the past gym leaders, champions, and friends takes place after that, in a full-fledged Pokemon World Tournament like the one in the BW2 games. A few people from Kalos also appear as well to challenge Ash to foreshadow the XY saga, and he also meets Serena, his old childhood friend.

After Ash returns to Kanto, he challenges Will and Bruno and wins intense matches against them.

X and Y Redefined
Ash (now 17) discovers that Serena has been a budding trainer. Wanting to help her win the next Tournament, and also wanting to relive his childhood, Ash offers to accompany Serena as she retrains. Good timing for Diantha, as she also needed extra help from the G-Men across the world. Meanwhile, Calem, Trevor, and occasionally Clemont and Bonnie appears every now and then as semi-regulars, doing their own investigations into Team Flare's activities. Shauna and Tierno would be the one doing the contests. Serena participates in the Lumiose Conference, Alain defeats her initially, Team Flare do their things, similar to canon. But, the League was suspicious of the irregularities of the match Serena vs Alain, and orders a rematch, which Serena wins. Both Ash and Serena decides to travel to Kanto to celebrate and let the latter revisit Kanto.

A Hypothetical 20th Anniversary Special Finale
However, Team Rocket does their final and biggest coup against Kanto and Johto, and now, everyone joins in the action to take them out once and for all. ALl of the past protagonists appear to help Ash, and Giovanni is finally taken down. Ash and Serena return to their respective regions to go through their Elite Four. The Final Match is set in Unova, where Ash and Serena have their Double Championship Battle against Lance and Diantha, with all having their full party of six Pokemon each. After over 3 intense hours, and 24 Pokemon, Ash and Serena wins their final battle and are crowned the new champions, which would also commemorate the hypothetical 20th Anniversary celebration of Pokemon. While I might make a few one-chapter shorts which they would make a few appearances in the Alola and Galar arcs, the fanfic would end here.

Would there be Pokefans interested in reading this?

Oh yeah, I forgot about this thread.

Since the last couple months I've started a new project. Well, the story itself isn't new to me, more like a rewrite... well, I put enough author's notes in there for explanations, haha. It's called Cavern of the Fae and is linked down there in my signature. Been there for a while, but I guess making the announcement here is not a bad extra.

Oh yeah, I also made an Archive of Our Own account, to also host my stuff in there. Though as it is, I don't have much yet outside Writing.com. I suppose as a reminder, the About Me tab in my Profile houses the links to my writing stuff... again, outside Writing.com.

I've finally got myself a AO3 account! I might start with the History of Shoyo project instead.

As for my CF x VW fanfic, I've noticed that a 3H reddit member who I know on done a better one with the Fodlan Frames app. I might ask him/her if I could do a full novelization instead.

I'm not good enough of a writer to tackle political intrigue yet, but Fire Emblem's supports provide more than enough fanfic fodder for me, heh.

FE8:

- Innes is normally a bit of an asshole... unless he's speaking to Vanessa, who he is very impressed by. What does he like so much about Vanessa? What makes him forget about Eirika? And most importantly: how do they end up together?

- Whatever happens in between Eirika/Seth's A support and ending. Rough idea: Seth couldn't bear to think about losing Eirika after loving her, so decided to postpone the relationship. He wouldn't mix his love life and professional life until the war ended. The fear of Eirika dying still lingers after Formortiis is defeated, but Eirika is able to convince him that it's safe now.

My other idea was that Seth was afraid of backlash from the rest of high society, but that feels like a weak justification considering most other royal/commoner pairings don't talk about social norms at all.

- I want to write about Myrhh or Marisa, but have no concrete ideas yet. The two have a distrust of other people and loneliness in common.

FE13:

- My Nowi x Tharja headcanon: they travel to the place where Nowi was born to satisfy Nowi's curiosity about her parents. Instead, they find a young Manakete whose parents have died. They adopt her and she becomes Nah.

(This breaks game canon in multiple ways. Oops 😄 )
