How often does your system overheat?

My docked switch tends to shutdown after about an hour of playing Three Houses due to overheating. Does this happen for anyone else? How long do you guys usually play for and does it happen when docked or undocked? My switch doesn't have this problem too much with games like Sonic Mania. I guess a game like that is less demanding.

Just an hour? That can't be normal. When you're switch is docked is it well ventilated? try not to leave it in an enclosed space. In my experience overheating consoles only ever happened after several hours of play during the hottest days of the year, and even then that was before we installed some air conditioning to keep things less sweaty. My switch has not had any issues like that. In any case I hope this gets better for you as the days get cooler.

I've played around 600 hours of Three Houses, exclusively in docked mode, and my Switch never overheated. I would recommend contacting Nintendo about it. If it's due to a manufacturing defect, they may be able to repair it, free of charge. At least, they did as much for my drifting Joy-Cons.

There is an attachment to the switch you can apply that augments the fan, and there are several repairs you can do on the switch fan itself by opening it up. I have around 700 hours on the switch and just experienced fan issues myself and from what I read online this part is usually one of the first to start failing on the switch.
