I didn't show this last chapter, but I promoted Caesar at level 10. He can use thoron, but his magic is nonexistent. Literally a heal bot. If this had zero focus on turn count, I'd spam to A rank in staves. Poor Caesar.

Hey. At least his speed is good?

She continues talking like this for 2 minutes, and it's as cringey as it sounds, even though she thinks it's cool.

Yeah, I don't know where this whole "long speeches are cool" idea comes from, but it's very clearly wrong.

Considering how easy it is to OHKO wyvern riders, I'm really surprised that they haven't all died to a windstorm. Or Gordin.

Probably because you didn't grind him to A bows in Chapter 1, so he's stuck with bases.

You might have crazy growths, but you just won't ever be SpeeDarros man. Sorry pal.

This turn really exemplifies the power of the PMU team. Pretty fun seeing these units used to strategize against a herd of promoted enemies.

>Wolf less broken than Darros

This playthrough is beautiful.

Something tells me defense won't save you from dying to that 8 speed. Oh well, you get a pass for today.

Gosh darn it, that 10% speed growth is actually poop. He's so bad. Can he at least use the silver axe?

Marth gets into combat with a dracoknight. Seeing her hero in danger, Est picks up her bow and defeats them for him, basically stealing his kill. Surely killing a promoted enemy will get Marth interested.

That's...actually quite underwhelming.

Here's to many more.

I mean. Maybe not the underwhelming part, but many more levels.

Tomas can do something that Matthis can't.  The question is whether or not it'll happen, since the odds are incredibly low.

Welp, I guess I'm losing 5 hours of sleep tonight trying to decrypt this.

Chapter 22: Michalis the 1337 Gamer

The Macedon that Minerva remembers was cool. Michalis was a true gamer, pwning noobs and teaching Minerva everything he knew about how to game. He has never lost a gaming tournament in his life, and Minerva idolized him. However, as both she and the internet changes over time, Michalis refuses to move past his über phase. Their little sister on the other hand, changed too much, basically becoming a dream stan. Such was disgusting in Michalis's eyes and was one of his main justifications for despising modern social media, or society as he'd day. Needless to say, the struggle within family relationships caused the kingdom to lose order, so Michalis banned Minerva and Maria from the next gaming convention. Ever since then, Macedon became the most toxic community in the continent. It's time to put this all to rest, which honestly should've been done since the beginning.

Since Darros won't be getting a silver lance for a while, I went ahead and gave him a stronger lance. I'd like him to reach C rank before chapter 24 for the dragonpike.

Since the secret shop had 3 speedwings...

I present to you: General SpeeDarros.

This man can 1RKO horseman, one of the fastest enemy types in the game, as a General. Dalsin bless this soldier!

http://7eVEYVW.png

http://hFuhuII.png

I also gave him an energy drop. He can even 1RKO dracoknights and paladins with the lance.

http://1fk1aKM.png

It's SpeeDarros time

http://F05TAGM.png

Wow that's a lot of enemies. I was hoping turn 3 would have Darros wipe them all out, but turn 2's paladin went after Matthis and lived, so I gave that kill to Dolph (I think). This caused him to be in range of 3 enemies, making me use the rest of my army as a shield for him.

http://Mgwl3Ns.png

Haha gottem.

http://DfnyCFV.png

Plenty of fliers to deal with in turn 4. Sure it sucks that they ignored Darros, but I suppose the rest of my army needs xp too.

http://2yJjJH6.png

You know, I almost never use axes for Wolf. I keep using bows. He's going to reach B soon. Just wanted to point that out.

http://cDiPtHu.png

It's official. SpeeDarros is invincible. Don't you dare say " what about mages?". I will tax you.

http://Ctj6dUb.png

http://rdZ5Jd5.png

Good strength. Speed has fallen off a little. Definitely still nice for SD standards, but a sword unit usually needs to double to be good. He'll get doubled by manaketes, which will make using the Falchion a lot less reliable.

http://wc3wMh1.png

Didn't screenshot who she gunned down, but here's a level up. I'm guessing getting her speed to a competent number is impossible at this point.

http://WpGECnK.png

http://OJW1L0v.png

Gotta love how he's a basic unit who has more speed than 90% of my army.

http://eyKuEYQ.png

I love Excalibur. Such a cool tome. So glad it's not locked to Merric.

http://gliPqc5.png

On turn 5, a thief is spotted getting ready to mug a village. A single village that just exists right next to the capital of Macedon. I don't get it.

http://VDFCUoC.png

Poor Bord...

http://KQgY6iG.png

Tomanslaughter gets speed. It's the one stat he can exceed Matthis in.

http://Uzf6Zdy.png

http://9nC8FOU.png

Draug outdated. General Sedgar overrated. General Darros activated.

Did I do the funny right?

http://nYR8ZTR.png

On turn 6, even more enemies ambush us from Michalis's mancave. Matthis sees this as fee xp.

http://F4eSpsc.png

Imagine a tank that can run. Wait that's just Sahelanthropus...

http://fhdNpAJ.png

No hesitation to murder her comrades. They always bullied her whenever she made anime references.

http://62nLtxW.png

On turn 7's enemy phase, SpeeDarros takes up the front lines to scout for unfair reinforcements because of course they'd use that to win.

http://bk29PQ0.png

Dolph beats the gamer at his own game, doing a 360 turn then tossing an axe 50 feet in the air, landing directly between the dracoknight's eyes. You should have been there.

http://yq7xRum.png

Macellon would've been proud...

http://ru5W0Lk.png

http://ZikO8CG.png

There were some ambush spawns, but Cord and Matthis were prepared for this.

http://Wp9ytGF.png

There's only so many ways I can say that Minerva nae nae's an enemy.

http://bRSlugL.png

Don't remember who Cain attacked, but that speed level is actually extremely helpful. Oh yeah, I gave him 2 spirit dusts. What, you think I was going to give them to Roshea? Come on, I'm not THAT based.

http://zcgs31V.png

Look at that. Dolph doubles a paladin as a basic fighter. They call him the quickster.

http://JoHoEHF.png

Turn 10 is just Marth and Darros reaching Michalis gamer pad while the rest of the crew bullies his gamer legion. Dolph doesn't even need chip damage support anymore. What a chad.

http://Ws46l5O.png

2 HP? Huh. Didn't know he could get that. Neat.

http://O6emjNX.png

SpeeDarros is sick of seeing these losers get healed by these underpaid maids, so he puts them out of their misery and ours.

http://9XQIVeP.png

He has now enraged Michalis. He had just bought some cat ears for them.

"You dare challenge me n00b? You will be pwn'd just like everyone else who crossed me in middle school! I am über! And you reek of fail. Perish!"

http://GmvnbWc.png

His screaming awakens some more guards, but Dolph snipes them down effortlessly, gaining yet another level.

http://bzdWRPM.png

Will defense even help? I sure hope so. I'd like him to not get 2HKO'd.

http://cTaEaFu.png

I don't want to make up corny dialogue for this. Someone else do it if you care about them. Not that you should.

http://8R0J71Y.png

"Game over.."

Total Turn Count: 11

Spoiler

http://rxo1GW5.png

This chapter was nothing special to talk about really. It's just walking up and repeatedly dealing with fliers. Sorry for the lack of jokes or plot. I really have nothing to say. Maybe I'm just too tired while writing this. The main meme was Dolph emblem, but I couldn't find 10 ways to word him choking dracoknights to death. I could've saved some turns being more aggressive with Marth and plugging up reinforcements faster with Darros and Matthis, but I really wanted to distribute xp to Dolph.

Yeah, but both Cord and Minerva can do that too, so it's not special anymore. Really, his 8 speed is killing him. Feeding kills is pointless, because nothing will prevent him from getting 1RKO'd, except maybe from Generals. Sorry Bord fans. He was pretty fun to have spam the Devil Axe though. What have I done...

Chapter 23: El Redditor

Ok. This chapter is just nonsensical in the original. Marth is basically here just for Falchion, but that's optional. If he doesn't get starlight, then he should know that this whole chapter is pointless then. It's called Dark Pontifex. Beating him is the whole point. Why would he just decide on seizing the throne? To get him out of the way? He wouldn't be that hard to avoid. The Falchion is the main reason, and there's always Tiki. The main goal was just to get the sword, so any run that doesn't end with you beating him makes him look stupid, but I always get that ending because I enjoy the spheres too much. Imagine not having the starlight. Why would Marth accept being warped by Gotoh here in Thabes? Just go to Medeus's lair! Sure, he wants his sister back, but he doesn't know about the alternative method to beating him until he's actually in the chapter! Wouldn't it make sense for this to be a gaiden chapter that only unlocks after you successfully get Starlight? Then you just need to make Gharnef a mandatory boss there and not have this random "turn off the Gharnef switch behind this chair" nonsense. I don't like this premise ok?

In this PMU world though, Gharnef is literally just a redditor who has used entrap on everyone, because he's creepy like that. Enraged after Cord slaughtered his kind in Reddit Island, he has forced his army into his lair, his mancave, where his elite redditors await them with their bolgonones. For most people, this was really annoying. For Cain, this was the perfect possible scenario.

Spoiler

http://7JrS33r.png

So I went ahead and gave him the last spirit dust, because I'd sooner use FE12 Athena than give Caesar a spirit dust.

http://AtkdiKx.png

There he is. He's back and based as ever.

You know, I find it a little underwhelming to see the way he's built in SD. The Dark Pontifex should be a lot stronger in might than this. It's not even double digits! Sure this is only Hard 3, but he doesn't get much stronger in H5. Instead, they just make him faster. He doesn't look fast at all. He actually has less magic than the enemies next to him. Just make him slow but hit very hard. Don't do my man like this.

23 speed is why I said Cain reaching 20 was really helpful. I forgot that he gets weighed down by his own tome, losing 2 speed, so I guess it didn't matter after all. Well, one more speed will help him for the next chapter at least.

http://gim9XII.png

Now there's a man who is ready to abolish a major power. He's tied with Darros for being the fastest unit in the PMU. Glad I invested in him in the end.

http://huPQIMd.png

On turn 1, Matthis runs up the stairs, getting in a nearby sniper's range. Everyone else gets ready behind him. Darros gets barrier'd by Roshea.

http://sCT2AMX.png

This is him getting double'd. Matthis represents the speed stat being unessarcy  to be a chad unit. SpeeDarros represents that anyone can become a chad through speed if they try. They're the Yin and Yang.

http://dm19AwV.png

http://GOCeaVk.png

The Swarm guy should've stayed where he was. Instead, he wanted to attack Dolph, and now he will receive his wrath.

http://ZnIUghp.png

Est why are you even here? No one is asking you to fight with Cord. You're just getting the last hit and going "Yay! I did it!". Marth doesn't care about you. He doesn't care about most things unrelated to Cord. He's kind of lost his will to live since the Gamer Arc.

http://OmhRnIZ.png

Well, I can at least respect the effort she's putting in trying to achieve the impossible.

http://c4zw4fI.png

Tomas and Matthis will be the main guys taking the frontlines due to them actually having res. Might as well rid  the world of another Colm while he's at it.

http://fPsAcul.png

Matthis used a pure water and tanks 2 mages on enemy phase.

http://vLhKG3l.png

On turn 3, Shadow Dragon decides that forcing you into a long hallway where two swarm users repeatedly throw bugs at you like The Pain was a great idea. This part is just slow and annoying. Just have one Swarm. Then again, did I actually expect Gharnef to know what fun is?

http://XI0nbjA.png

Est sees a helpless healer who was sadly caught up in this mess and was forced to fight for Gharnef or else they get doxxed, and she sees this as the perfect opportunity for target practice. She shoots them in the leg, crippling them and then repeatedly shoots them. The healer at the throne cannot see this torture, so they just keep healing them, basically causing the suffering to never end and making Est's plan work flawlessly. Don't worry about how ethical it is. It's for a good cause.

http://dSCoiJC.png

Eh I'm sure he'll be fine. I'm assuming that the basic mage will attack Dolph first since he has 1 res. Matthis would barely survive the other 2 by 1 HP.

http://pJPA7xs.png

Matthis dodges a hit from Gharnef and lands a crit on the bishop. This is what happens when you hold no fear in battle.

http://cccXy0S.png

Ya love to see it.

http://bxLIxv3.png

http://3D4LOwv.png

As Cain was getting ready to banish Gharnef away, Matthis glares at Gharnef. After 5 seconds, he thrusts the Gradivus right at him, causing the figure to dissolve into a puddle of Soy Milk.

"Coward...He's using alternative accounts!".

http://qPDqpCC.png

By turn 5, more people start chugging pure waters and rush up the stairs.

http://amg9EkY.png

Tomas has already made it to the top. Now he gets first dibs on this loser.

http://2Ta2gaC.png

I keep using other unit as bait for the swarmers so the rest can not get eaten alive.

http://43bMkb8.png

Tomas downvotes a sniper, and he immediately gets aggravated. Works everytime.

http://9H0GOm3.png

"You cringe normies always downvote others without even using your brain for a second, but I guess expecting you to have a brain is asking for a lot. your whiny voice: "Ohh I can't handle people being smart I need to put them in their place waaah"  You are an unlikeable piece of worthless garbage who'll ne-"

http://I9JSguC.png

Didn't even have to try.

http://MbhGATO.png

I'm on turn 7 and I remember something bad happening at this point, so I save and wait a turn.

http://ZVwW0Nq.png

I was right. He used console commands to spawn in more mages. That's cheating.

http://bvm19NC.png

Exact damage is always nice to see.

http://9sD8zPR.png

Darros gets one step closer to that 30 defense.

http://G5IliaF.png

At this rate, the only start is to have several people in range of different enemies to try spreading out their targets. Cord's in the center, but most enemies will attack others for not being barrier'd.

http://lkf9PLD.png

The Swarm guys keep trying to kill Dolph. They're jealous by how much of a chad he is, and they try to strawman him until he gets banned from life.

http://Okeq8u2.png

Darros retaliates with a critical hit, revealing that this Gharnef is also just soy milk.

http://pibSvUW.png

Cord misses hand axe throws, so it's up to Darros. I'm sure that counts as a teamwork moment or something.

http://0iYRw6I.png

http://smePMut.png

Speed doesn't matter. Just kill them before they hurt you.

http://9vXawwo.png

On turn 10, most of my important units are at the throne room. More importantly, I can finally snipe these redditors in every major organ in their body. Screw these guys.

http://sxA6xaJ.png

Did I need to use a silver sword? No. Did I want to? Yes.

http://koJGFMN.png

Is this a mistake by the devs? The healer can't use their own staff on lower difficulties. This man was lying to the internet. What a suprise.

http://w4xE7Sw.png

By turn 11, just about everyone has been mutilated beyond recognition. Matthis works on hanging this bishop's head on the gates of the front page of reddit,

http://UV8bjk9.png

Yes. Est has been gunning this healer down for the past 9 turns this entire time. Now that Marth is getting ready to seize the throne, she finishes the job to catch up.

http://yWj8etL.png

Cain heals Matthis next turn and gets speed. Cool.

http://xJDtogA.png

By turn 12's enemy phase, Matthis finally gets the job done. If you're wondering why I wasn't rushing to get this guy disintegrated, I had to wait for Cain to fight Gharnef anyways.

http://IjSDwvE.png

Okay. Now it's Matthis time.

http://7S4oTrk.png

Matthis takes out the last prisoner of Gharnef with no hesitation, so he cannot be healed for Cain's big fight.

http://n7vhqu9.png

On turn 14, Cain confronts the Based Pontifex. While he was at Macedon, he encountered an old man. A sage. He asked Cain for the spheres he was holding. In return, he would give him the ultimate tome. This tome, while not as high in might as one would expect it to have, carried a power that no other tome could ever obtain. It permantely shuts down a site of your choosing. The tome had three uses in it. Cain wanted to know if this was real and not another scam, so the sage uses the tome once, destroying Club Penguin. Cain immediately knew that this was his destiny. He takes the tome and has now made it to Gharnef's secret mancave room.

http://OE5DsFl.png

http://Rh7cWB3.png

http://kRT8AYO.png

And just like that...Reddit is no more. Without Reddit, Gharnef is powerless. His fame, gone. His reddit gold, worthless. His memes, cringe. Gharnef disintegrates as if he'd been Thanos snapped, and the Falchion appears. Why did Gharnef own this? He is also violently racist to dragons.

Total Turn Count: 14

Spoiler

http://xjtirTI.png

It's a shame that Gharnef ended up being the last one. Definitely made me lose at least 2 turns. At least I got a crit on turn 14, so I saved one there. I also wasted a bit of time making Cain head east at first in case that was the real Gharnef. I probably could've used the geosphere here, but really just didn't feel like it. But what really matters is that we're approaching the endgame. Hoo boy.

At least Roger is a happy man.

Chapter 24: Dohlr, Land of the IRS

At last, after all this time, Cord has made it to Dohlr territory. As it turns out, it's not lizard people that control the government. It's dragon people. The base for the IRS is heavily fortified by manaketes whose stats rival that of FE12 late game dragons, making any attempts to overthrow it end in immediate downfall. Normally Camus and the Sable Tax Collectors would show up here to end anyone who shows up with Dragonpikes and overwhelms them with reinforcements, but with him gone, Cord now stands a chance to defeat them and enter the capital in order to end Medeus's reign of taxing terror.

Spoiler

http://HSzgzAi.png

I imagine this will be very helpful in weakening the manaketes to feed kills to other people. One thing I really want to prioritize is getting Est to level 10. I cannot go to endgame with an unprompted unit. I'll waste quite a couple of turns if that's what it takes. I won't go overboard and route the entire map. Why? It lasts until turn 51, another reason why no one in Archanea has stopped the IRS. They have 100+ dragon boiz on standby.

These are the H3 dragons by the way. Most of Shadow Dragon gives enemies that have high might, but aren't really fast, so you don't get 1RKO'd by bad growths. Then they said "screw it" and just made these guys. 80% of my army dies in one battle. Why are they so fast? According to just about every website, firestones give you +4 speed, so I should be fine with units who have 21 speed. I've had blessed units in previous runs like Abel with capped strength and 20 speed and defense, but then he still gets 1RKO'd by them, so I basically need to use General Sedgar. At least tell people the stat bonuses of the stone.

http://6kKgpiw.png

My man Matthis eats the wings of fallen pegasi to gain 4 speed, so he won't get double'd by 24 speed.

http://1VnbnJW.png

I decide that going down was probably not worth it, since there's plenty of snipers and mage dragons that can overwhelm my army. Hardin has been promoted to a swordmaster, but I'd rather show his stats on endgame. I plan on showcasing everyone then anyways.

http://hz2QSVN.png

I decide that my previous idea sucked, so I went ahead and got Minerva to bait the sniper. I attempted to do this on turn 1 at first, but she immediately got hit by a critical. To be fair, she was baiting two of them then.

http://Mn6dL9V.png

Everyone else heads east to take the path that isn't surrounded by mountains since they've never agreed to go mountain climbing to stop the IRS.

Of course Matthis is going to be the one baiting the dragons. He's the only one who shows no fear when fighting these big guys. He's actually using a silver lance over the dragonpike since the silver lance won't do enough damage to have the fortify punk heal them back.

http://lvOchtB.png

He's never paid taxes before, and he certainly isn't going to start today.

http://rj9BIUX.png

Gotta love setting up manakete kills. The xp drop is equivalent to the number of people whose lives they've destroyed from taxes divided by 1000.

http://wISWICf.png

http://PrLs6sK.png

http://PJ8qqH1.png

Cord's army is really putting in everyone they got in these levels to prepare themselves for the big endgame.

http://npMbWdL.png

http://nLB5Bg0.png

http://eUCUtwY.png

Est actually helps Marth take out a competent enemy.

http://nPnx3wW.png

Look at these level ups! This turn was going extremely...was...

http://N3UO8lQ.png

Magestones make them lose 1 speed, so the dragon should have 19 speed and not double Marth. I was a bit proud of the setup, but then I get double'd and die.

What the hell?

Spoiler

I actually got really mad. How does that make sense. I try again with mostly the same placements, and I then realized that Matthis was also getting doubled, and every dragon doubles Marth. I was getting really angry, since nothing was adding up with the math. Every site displays the same stone stats, so it couldn't just be that they're wrong. Eventually, I remembered this game's 2nd biggest sin. They literally lie to you about their base speed. They don't have 20. It's 22. You can tell what their total speed is by their avoid, which I only now just remembered. The firestone guys have 26 speed. What the actual ****. That's literally the same speed as FE12 maniac lategame fire dragons. You know, the game where you probably completely capped your stats by then with the game's good growth? Yeah, let's not only make this guy almost definitely double anybody who isn't Caeda, but let's straight up lie about their speed to trick people into think they're safe, making them constantly fear what their real speed is. It took me 4 playthroughs to even find out how they worked. I hate this. I was ranting to myself the whole time I was playing. And of course, the worst part was that I just lost all the good level ups I got. But I have this problem where I physically can't let go of good levels. I'm not saying I'd actively re-do every map until I get exact replicas of them, but I don't accept going from full level ups to +HP, especially if the death wasn't my fault. But ohh no. The game was not happy with me. It took 9 attemps to get level ups close to what I originally received. And those aren't counting runs I lose to getting hit by crits or dying from enemy dodges because the manaketes are actually really good at dodging. I suppose the chapter being so hard works with the power of the IRS and their brutal ways of silencing me, but this really ruined my day. If you want to know why this post took a while to release, it's because I kept taking breaks from this chapter. I tried, rage, then stop playing. Did that two more times before I actually beat it. On one attempt, I got good levels, but then died shortly after to bad luck, so I had to try again...again for better rolls. I don't know why, but I felt like just playing while giving up good levels was impossible. I tried once, but then I get a 2nd bad level and reset from frustration. I kept feeling like I deserve those first level ups, and stopping now would be giving up and letting the game win. It was actually driving me insane. It still took a while for me to even find out how the dragon speed worked, so I'd lose people like Hardin or even Matthis by not knowing who would and wouldn't double me. A really annoying part was the amount of screenshots I was trying to manage. I have at least 150 screenshots of this chapter, and so many of them are just me dying, making different but similar strats over and over, and retaking level ups endlessly, making each turn go by so slowy and I just confuse myself as I keep going. I made 3 files for this chapters. I honestly don't even want to bother showing them though, because I just want this to be done with, so I'll just show the attempt that worked. The worst part was that I was doing this while really struggling in school. I've been very busy. I'm STILL busy, but I can't just hold this off for 2 weeks when I'm so close to end. I wasted far too much time on this chapter, and it was stressing me out time-wise, but I didn't want this effort to be for nothing. These past few days sucked, and this chapter only made my mood worse.

After 3 days worth of attempts, I finally get in a run that works out...mostly.

http://1DFPwTm.png

On turn 1, Minerva baits out both snipers. She might get hit with a crit, but I'm used to redoing the first 3 turns 50 times, so who cares?

http://3clHgRR.png

The east squad remians mostly the same for turn 2.

http://2Qh9SU6.png

Wolf baits out the left sniper.

http://qVAHQg9.png

Darros weakens this guy and gets enough chip money to level up

http://zMoTdoe.png

No defense sucks, but after seeing 8 Darros levels with no relevant stat boosts, this is fine.

http://tcbcgDk.png

http://iDtFad3.png

One more speed and he won't get doubled by firestone boys. By the way, this guy got blanks two times in a row before.

http://iMW095h.png

It was only on my 2nd attempt that I found out setting it up like this prevents the manaketes from reaching the sniper, so I can chip him without dying from them afterwards.

http://KeTjpck.png

http://4QvLGLE.png

After literally 9 different Est levels, she finally gets the level up she deserves. Ests rule...after every previous bad Est level. She's the main reason I reset so much.. You wouldn't believe the amount of bad Est levels I got. Blanks, hp only, luck only. I kept resetting in assumption that it shouldn't take too long, only for Est to have a Jagen phase. She gets a good level once, and everyone else gets blanks. Surely, the odds of a run where I at least get average growths are THAT low. Come on. Even worse, I made the choice to use a save point right before Est attacks JUST to make sure I don't repeat the first two turns anymore. Why do I need to do this for a unit that SHOULD be reliably getting good levels? Even worse, now I have to do a large part of the map without fail to not do this yet again, and yes, I did die once or twice.

http://fSeAdwJ.png

By turn 4, Matthis charges head first into danger, because how else will he feel anything? Cord tries to make sure Matthis doesn't get overwhelmed, since he's the only other person who can take them on.

http://7MGieWD.png

On turn 5, a sniper tries to get in Cord's way, but Darros snipes them better than they could.

http://G7XPAgO.png

Cord faces off against the tax dragon and comes out injured but stronger

http://FBXXZDi.png

At least Cord always gets good levels. You can't have a bad Cord. It's a rule of life.

http://sIrxe7Z.png

I really stopped caring at this point.

http://ZhOXpoN.png

Maybe' we'll get to see cap strength Matthis? I'm sure at least one person will love that.

http://MD2YbGV.png

Still more dragons below. Man, there's a lot of them. It's almost like they don't want to be overthrown by a rebellion.  How rude.

http://dkKhJHq.png

Here's Hardin actually doing a thing. Unfortunately, he still gets double'd, but if he's barrier'd, he'll survive. He and Wolf are the only people here who can survive this guy. I love this map.

http://go4E3fd.png

1 HP. He must be proud of himself. He shouldn't be. He missed! I need them to be weakened man.

http://bSHsqEO.png

I have to resort to running away on turn 6 because killing him where he was would get me in range of the other dragon. This would be so much simpler if they just didn't have so much damn speed. Why SD why?

http://pqgaQPL.png

I can't just run away with everyone and head east, because Est only has 5 move, so she'll get killed eventually like this. Why do archers get armor knight tier movement?

http://nWWkLLY.png

Darros aims at the dragon's wings to cripple it, but it moved and got hit in the eye, critically killing it.

http://kfj5V9N.png

Hoping for more defense, but I guess I wasted that on the run that got Est killed. No, I'm not still mad at this chapter.

This turn went a lot differently on different attempts, but nothing can be done about that anymore. It's not like I got tired of taking 20 screenshots waiting for the ones that actually mattered to be the most boring ones.

http://H0FM5Yu.png

Luckiliy, my luck began turning around on turn 7.

http://4X7jdTC.png

Marth decides to not fall behind for endgame. Thank you Marth. I needed that. I was so tired by this point, so seeing something go right was refreshing, and things did better better from here on out....mostly.

http://kfWavsC.png

Marth knew that more IRS agents would follow him after one fell, so the other fighters set up a defense for him.

http://BvLLCUG.png

http://UDDrJsD.png

Thank Frost for the dragons not having 1-2 range.

http://Sdy2Qp1.png

2 damage? That's actually really sad.

http://W5I5HiZ.png

Again, I've finally reached a point of luckiness. This must be my reward for being so patient. Or maybe it's my reward for using Matthis in general.

http://kJ6pVoN.png

Turn 8 arrives, and I'm finally able to take out the remaining enemies on top

http://smobu3R.png

I really didn't give Wolf enough levels throughout the PMU did I? Whatever, Wolf is overrated anyways. Vyland is cooler.

http://nITu4BG.png

It's nice having the falchion. If only the dragons weren't so speedy, then maybe it would feel like a better weapon.

http://JmRNJob.png

That's the face of someone who's determined to see this through to the end.

http://bS8TIVd.png

Huh. What's that he's got there? Oh well. I'm sure it won't matter. Not like Tomas cares about the government getting their things stolen.

http://BIPqyqk.png

At this point, the IRS became fully aware of the danger that they're facing, so they release their agents from the forts prior to tax collecting time to fight Cord's army. Luckily, Rickard blocks one spot, but Darros is still attacked from behind by another one.

http://PSAF51f.png

Dohlr only has one fortify user, since no place like this could be holy enough to heal in, making the dragon not heal enough to avoid death from Deadeye Darros.

http://ivAfYsj.png

It's so sad that one of my fastest units still gets double'd. Oh yeah, I'm frequently using fortify in a lot of these turns now, so the HP might seem lower now than they will be on enemy phase. I have a 2nd one, so it's okay to spam.

http://tHfq714.png

Minerva doesn't want this battle to end without having a kill to her name, so she slaughters the only person here with a heart. She calls it quirky. I call it dangerously insecure.

http://bX5FNy4.png

The T in Tomanslaughter stands for teamwork.

http://vgAAKFE.png

http://aur0ctH.png

Dolph was not about to let Cain die now. They've come too far to fall now.

http://g1Y9e8S.png

Cain and Tomas take out another dragon, but Tomas gave his luckiness to Matthis.

http://46EhzWY.png

Wooow. Tomas, you really should've listened to me when I told you to prioritize strength a couple of posts back. To be fair, he was absurdly stat blessed as a basic unit, so this isn't exactly unlucky.

http://7gBcQ0j.png

At least Cord knows that the grind never stops.

http://wh3TlTb.png

The Hero then goes for Minerva on enemy phase and she gets one last level up before endgame.  Not sure if her current stats and utility is a sign of her being good or not for late game.

http://ywYEN5X.png

By turn 12, Marth gets really close to reaching the throne room, and Dolph's lust for revenge only grows stronger.

http://cSdZ6te.png

To any Rickard fans, I hope you're happy. He got a kill in chapter 24. He officially contributed in the late game.

http://MI1YPKS.png

I don't want anyone telling me Darros is a bad unit. You will lose all credibility.

http://AAJsWKN.png

What a champ. If you're wondering where Tomas went, I wanted to see if he could help out on a tough situation

http://OWC8JcF.png

very tough situation. Again, Est can't outrun the dragon. He will catch up eventually. Neither Bord or Roshea can tank them, and my good units are too far away to bait him.

http://HSRAZwr.png

I made a save point here rather than go to the secret shop because this seemed like a situation where I really need it.

Unfortuantely, a couple of attempts showed that I might have locked myself into a scenario where I can't get everyone to live. The only person who can bait the guy in time is Tomas, but he also dies in 1 hit.

Cord sprinted as if his life depended on it. Cain tried to deduce any possible way out of this, but the IRS agent had them cornered. Every units ran away from the boss in an attempt to arrive in time, but it was't going to work. Instead, this is what they arrived to:

http://6IBNwNS.png

Rather than run, Bord ran straight into the dragon, giving his allies just enough time to be saved by the others. He puts on a brave face, but he knew that this battle was unwinnable.

http://C0bCg6O.png

"I leave the rest...up to you...lord Cord...make Barst...proud..."

In Cord's attempt to save his kingdom from the IRS, he lost one of his main retainers, and his best friend. Feeling too worthless throughout this war, Bord chose to sacrifice his life to save another. At least, this was all Cord could assume was why he did that. He never told him how much he cared for him, since he was never one to show much emotion. There wasn't time for a sad scene though, since the dragons kept appearing. If Cord doesn't act now, Bord's life will have been lost for nothing.

Spoiler

Ok, so this was a terrifying moment for me. I looked up several PMU's but I don't see any rule strictly stating that PMU units HAVE to survive. I feel like it's a natural rule, but in this case, I really don't want to do this map yet again. I already ranted about how long it took to get this far. My last savepoint that wasn't on the turn Bord dies in was back in turn 3. I refuse to do all of that all over again. I'm already days behind the posting schedule, and I have a lot of school to work on. I'd probably just go through the blank level hell all over again, or just miss my attacks and die. I just wanted to beat the chapter. And you know, I tried my best to get him out. I even tried resetting for dodges. The dragon has a 90% chance to hit Bord, so the true hit must be near 96%. I went ahead and reset at least 10 times, but it wasn't working, so I DID waste extra time on him. Even if I dodged, I'd then be in his range next turn, meaning I'd have to dodge AGAIN without resets. That's just impossible. It was either resetting, or going on without him, and Bord's stats aren't worth resetting for. It felt horrible to consider leaving him behind though, since the idea of letting someone's draft unit just go to waste like that sounds insulting to them. But man, I really don't want to do this JUST because the dragon was catching up with 5 move Est. It doesn't help that by the time anyone would arrive to help, even more reinforcements would show up. I'm basically taking a gamble here. Is it okay to let PMU units die? I wanted to recruit everyone, but I suppose I technically never stated that everyone has to live, I think. Please just let me have this. In a way, a dramatic death for Bord is a lot cooler than just having him be benched, right? Besides, everyone knows one thing for Fire Emblem. When a unit dies, your luck is increased drastically.

 http://33ltPqK.png

Matthis uses Bord's death to get the dragon's attention, saving Roshea and Est from being taxed to death. This is literally Est's fault.

http://gK0ZFgU.png

On turn 15, Matthis finishes the job and the game is basically telling to not reset.

At this point, most screenshots don't matter anymore. The threat of the stage is mostly gone, as I can just set up my positioning to making reinforcements be easy fed kills. I'll mainly just show level up screenshots from here on out.

http://xGVmpln.png

Rickard actually levels up.

http://ka2BmYL.png

http://Y1uBKJk.png

Now he gets strength.

http://fLlYWBI.png

Beginning turn 16, Dolph starts repeatedly shooting at the boss, gaining some bow rank and chip xp while Marth runs back to the throne with a few friends, since Marth can't take on the boss himself.

http://e5NCipI.png

Hey 52 HP. That's the cap hp of the original FE. This is obviously a sign. I don't know what it's a sign of, but it's a sign.

http://MK6XBaO.png

Est gets a kill on a dragon. I said I was going to get her to level 10, and I'll do it no matter what. She's the reason Bord died! Technically, I can kill the boss now, but I actually want a few more reinforcements for some last level ups. It's not like I'm focusing on turn counts on this chapter anyways. I technically could've seized the map on turn 11 or 12, but then I would've lost the secret shop and even buying mends on the regular store.

http://pnWDErp.png

She'll totally pull through.

http://RbISe0U.png

As I said, he COULD beat the boss, but there is a chance I could die, so I'll wait to be safe.

http://KjqnzuV.png

http://f6roY0L.png

Caesar actually helps Marth. What is this?

http://XD9O7kC.png

Marth's an interesting unit.

http://xHVTO2G.png

On turn 20, Est gets another dragon kill, finally reaching level 10.

http://hC6sQEV.png

Marth gets another dragon kill, and is turning into a pretty good unit. Too bad his speed is just low enough to not double endgame enemies. Oh well. I've seen much worse Marths.

http://PXjk9o8.png

This time, I don't have an excuse. I just wanted to wait three more turns before killing the boss for Darros. This is why. I really needed to see that 30 defense. Worth it.

http://ozjOK6e.png

Matthis kills the boss and maxes out strength. Yeah, the boss isn't important enough to warrant screenshots. He's no stronger than a generic dragon.

http://LGyYbrr.png

Since I've already wasted so many turns already, I use two more of them to route the enemy completely. Can't let the IRS call for backup.

http://Y3awXEg.png

With that, my team has reached it's endgame stats.

http://qh1YUut.png

It's time for Medeus's last stand.

http://A4bE1DO.png

Total Turn Count: 26

Spoiler

http://zMR4pqw.png

It's obvious that I could've done this chapter waaay better. The turn count sucks, and I let a unit die, but I don't have honor when it comes to this chapter.

Sorry for the very disappointing penultimate chapter. I know there's practically no jokes or interesting content at all (aside from the accidental whoopsie on axe boy, and it's just very dumb. I just had an awful time here. I wanted to skip it so bad, but I value this chapter's resources so much. You get so much xp and the secret shop, so I didn't want to minimize my time here. I honestly didn't want to post all all and I still don't, but it'd be weird to just ignore the 2nd to last chapter. I'll try to feel better for endgame. I really shouldn't be so salty at a time like this. Besides, no one wants to hear a guy on the internet get all sulky over a Fire Emblem game. I had a rough weekend alright? I hope no one has a problem with letting a PMU unit die. I'd actually lose my mind doing this again. I re-did chapter 11 without a problem, but this one just drained me. I actually got my weekend ruined by a fire emblem chapter. Jeez. I really don't want to end this on a sour note, so I'll try to be optimistic before wrapping up the LP. I think endgame will be really fun though. It's one of my favorites, and I have a lot to share about my endgame team and the run as a whole when this is all done.

I'm entirely sympathetic to your feelings here. The fact that the game lies about speed stats so as to preserve the caps is utterly bogus- though it probably would have been healthier to just accept the bad levels. I suppose that's one of the great advantages of ironmans, you can suffer horrible loses but you also avoid the stress and dread which a reset can bring.

A very sad and dramatic moment. I suppose you're right, no rule requires the units make it to the end, especially if they contributed a lot early on. That at least makes it so you didn't shove them to the side the whole time. It probably is a bit of a more dignified end for Bord, and it gives the narrative some more forward momentum.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with me. Looking back at it now, half of me believes I really overreacted, but the other half feels completely justified. It's a bad habit where I get abnormally angry over the loss of good levels, to the point where I just cannot for my life let go of it. I can get over it if it's one bad level change and/or if I really deserved to lose it. But that speed garbage was so dumb. If I'd known the true stat, I would've played differently, got an extra turn to use the first save point, and preserve the early levels. I don't know how I play Fire Emblem with that problem. It's why I have so much appreciation for two things: Ironmans, and Fates Lunatic. In Fates's Lunatic mode, growths are unchangeable. If you get a level up, it will always stay that way. Since I no longer have any control over it, I feel less upset over bad levels. It's just something I need to work around. In ironmans, the lack of resetting will also make each level up something you know you can't change.

That's how I'm hoping everyone will see it. If he didn't die, then what would happen? He'd probably just stand on some stairs on endgame. This is arguably the best outcome. I suppose I should start specifying whether units can or can't die from here on out. At least I really did try with Bord in the first half. Also, it's literally Est's fault. Boo Est boo. i can't believe 5 move archer cost me Bord you gotta be kidding me

I think he'll enjoy seeing the finale results for Matthis. I know I did.

Endgame: The Madman's Actually Doing It

After countless hours spent mowing down the government dragon people, and the unfortunate loss of Bord, Cord steps foot into  IRS Headquarters, where Medeus the Commissioner who oversees the tax collection all throughout Archanea. After weeks spent in this economical and literal warfare, the continent has been in a state of panic, and Medeus was planning to have everyone turn against Cord to destroy them entirely. However, Cord's aggressive strategy of assaulting it's integral points with a handful of fighters had placed the IRS in a state of confusion. And now, they have already breached the capital of Dohlr, home of people's ruined dreams to buy a good horse (Horse taxes can be quite brutal with the faster breeds and shinier armor). Now, all that is left for Cord is to slay Medeus, and he will have finally avenged the death of his old king Barst, and another man who will go down in history for being what allowed them to make it this far even though all he did was save Est.

We've finally arrived to the finale of this PMU. As such, I'm going to talk a LOT about the playthrough and my army. So, I'll just break down the post to several parts to make things more convenient.

Endgame PMU Team Review

Spoiler

http://kcp6Pk3.png

Being my free unit, he played an integral role in making the early game a better experience. He might have fallen off a little when he constantly spent time opening chests, but I'm proud of this Marth overall. Definitely had much worse ones. The main noticeable boost to Marth's chad levels revolved around the fact that his Rapier is very helpful when your OP girlfriend dumps you. Poor guy. Hope he doesn't end up with Est. If I recall, Catria canonically has a crush on Marth, but she can't exactly tell him that when she got gorshed.

http://RmZAOQc.png

Poor Hardin. Hardly contributed to the run. It's not even Hardin's fault. It's just the class. Myrmidons really get done dirty in FE11. They don't even look cool! That's the worst part. But hey! He can finally use his silver sword after 19 chapters. It says 18 uses because I may have accidentally sold the 20 use one for one last forge. Just pretend it says 20. I'm sure you can round it up. 11=20. He did actually help in chapter 24 with the northern magic dragons, so that was cool of him. Other than that, he doesn't seem like he's going to get a happy marriage with anyone, not with those stats. Sorry bro, you should have been a General or something.

http://1tfHh5Q.png

I've never used Minerva all the way through endgame. She was a pretty fun unit to have around. Then again, that could just be her being my only flier. Considering how long it took for her to start falling off, I'd say she was pretty helpful. I mean, what's not to love? She's gaslighting girl-boss gamer. She even got her own arc. I wonder if Minerva fans like or hate how I basically just rewrote her and her family entirely off of different gaming stereotypes. Hey, at least SHE wasn't the youtuber stan. Michalis deserves better.

http://nVvTVbx.png

Something tells me this would straight up burn the eyes of Awakening players. It is pretty funny to look at though. Sorry Dayni, but man was this guy just not feeling it. I can't even make up for it with Bord because...yeah. Maybe you'll get enjoyment in knowing that this is by far the worst unit I've ever deployed for endgame. I tried giving him kills throughout the game. I didn't want to just toss him as a heal bot, but he refused to learn magic. He's insecure about looking like a nerd after all. Maybe this is why Radd is the meme, and not Caesar.

While Bord may be gone, his Devil Axe will always be...hilariously stupid. I can't believe just how often I used that. Man was spamming it like a madman with no consequence. Then I give it to Wolf, and he immediately dies. This is why Bord was secretly by best unit all along.

http://sY4DmCa.png

How can you hate this man? He's a big shot! The best part was having him not gain any magic until right before he promoted, meaning that he spent about half of the game with 1 point in magic. It actually added an interesting challenging. He could physic and all, but it can't save you from overextending, so vulneraries played a big role in my strategy, while not being the ONLY way to play. I really had to think about how many times I can afford to get hit. So you know what? Thanks for being an awful healer Roshea. I'm pretty sure there's a guy who got you to crit and OHKO Medeus on a H5 ironman, and that can only mean you are objectively a fantastic unit.

http://PqhBRYv.png

Cain was honestly one of my favoirte units to train. He's no Darros or Cord, but man these stats are insane. I've never had a Merric with these stats. He was given an angelic robe to reach that sweet 50 HP, but nothing fixes his defense. Pretty sure it's 0%. Cain was basically a growth unit mage, so I guess he's like Ewan, but with much better availability and a cooler roster of tomes. Something tells me Abel would've made more sense with Excalibur, because green hair just goes well with wind, but Cain did use Bolgonone pretty well sometimes, since his good strength made him never get weighed down.

http://qYuk3xA.png

I've used Est 5 times in Shadow Dragon. Unluckily for Est, this was my worst one. You'd think archer Est would help for the Macedon arc, but she REALLY needs those cavalier kills from forged ridersbane to catch up in time. The main flaw with archers is their 5 movement limit. She spent so much of her life on a pegasus, her legs just never finished developing properly, so she struggles to run. Maybe if she touched some grass instead of simping in her room filled with Marth merchandise, she'd be a better fighter. Hopefully, you wanted to see a good Dolph over a good Est.

http://ehQgUuZ.png

This basically defines Shadow Dragon. See a slow armor unit, see them become speed demon through reclassing. Same goes vice versa. SD is a funny game. That's why we love it. It's the best game for memes, and Dolph is prime example of that. Just look at his portrait. This man is ready to abolish some taxes. Why does no one talk about him? Like, people meme on Matthis and Radd, but nobody mentions my boy Dolph. This is my second time using him. He's fun! He's epic! By all means, FE fans should consider him to be "based". Is it because he's secretly really good that he's not funny to meme on? Put him on the high tier lists. And don't tell me he's forgettable. He's an iconic unit in BSFE, which is the best game.

http://AoGiEHy.png

I remember telling myself that I should get him to level 21 by chapter 20, so he can reach 20 speed, doubling the paladins and NOT falling off completely. Yeah good job Shaky. I guess he was mainly drafted to be the thief that opens doors and chests, so I can't say he was strictly bad. Doing it all with Marth makes the game slow, and do I look like Arden? No.

http://HIfinZA.png

I'm not sure what you expected out of Tomas but.....here you go.

I got him out of his unholy base stats, so I'm satisfied with him. I was afraid he'd be super unfun and just plain awful, but he did get blessed throughout his unpromoted phase. I got quite a lot of serotonin from seeing him OHKO the Sable tax collectors when he finally got to C rank lance ranks. Very rewarding. A shame he was falling off near the end with mediocre levels, but I can't ask for the world when I was pretty darn blessed to begin with. Still unsure why he's your favorite unit. Does that apply to New Mystery too? I would say what I'm a fan of, but it's probably obvious by now.

http://VDqZ4GP.png

Wolf was so odd of a unit. He starts off like ehh, but his always got the greens, so I had to respect the grind. He never became amazing, since I wasn't feeding him kills, so he always was in this point of jumping between bad and good throughout the gap of not gaining level ups. His high HP made him a mini tank, but he was pretty slow. He mainly helped with his forged bows. I like him. He's in Heroes now, and he deserves to be in it. Now someone make him OP or it isn't cannon.

http://JR2gqbS.png

I present to you, the best unit in my army by far. Big Matt. I wouldn't be surprised if you've seen/had better ones, but I'd say this should make a fine addition to the collection of "Why Matthis is The Most Underrated Unit in Fire Emblem" evidence file, probably alongside "Frost is a God and I Will Not Accept A Rebuttal". This man was insane. Sure, his early levels were mostly bad, but his good defense and mobility made him the best frontline unit, paving the way for the rest of my army who would be mere skeletons without Matthis doing the heavy work for them. Eventually, he stopped handicapping himself and went crazy with growths, reaching the Matthis you see now. If there's one thing that really annoys me about this Matthis is that he's one speedwing away from capping speed. Come on, I need to see 3 greens! At least his HP is capped with one angelic robe from chapter 24. He's basically invincible to physical attacks. I don't know why Paladins and wyverns cap defense at 30 in SD. I could've just naturally gotten him to 25 with a bit more dragon killing, but with that defense cap, how could I not give him the dracoshields? He does use it the best. Honestly, the first two chapters were probably the only time Matthis was "bad". He unironically carried a lot of the run from then on. Tier lists truly are just a lie.

http://YBZ7TJh.png

Here's what he'd be like as a dracoknight in case you want to know. Definitely looks signature worthy, but I already have someone else in mind for that.

http://nD9yHhu.png

What's the best stat?

That's right, bows. I give you General Darros the Great! Or as some here would like to call him, SPEEDARROS. He's got it all. Strength, defense, and most importantly, 3 res. I'm sure there's at least a few others that've done this before, but it feels special to me seeing my man become this OP. He's like, infamous for his nonexistent speed growth and dying on his joining chapter. I mean, you guys certainly seemed excited to see his progression to SpeeDarros. I'd like to think that I somehow influenced the growth. Maybe I'm just chosen to have blessed armor knights. I use Meg and she always gets crazy level ups. I used PoR Brom, and he capped every relevant stat without even using the Knight Ward. Yes, I gave him wrath+resolve in the end for that. Not even a question. I wasn't even planning on making Darros a focus. He just got 4 speed growths in a row. That's not just dumb luck. It's proof that Darros is actually an amazing unit who is never given time to shine because he's just seen as "became sail". No...he "became speed". You're welcome Mr. Speed.

http://uoYMoWv.png

Matthis and Darros may have been Seth tier units that sent the IRS crying to their executive branch, but we can't forget the OG chad unit. Cord. He's what started this whole thing. Without Cord, there'd be no Cordcoin. Without Cordcoin, there'd be no more Cord Castle. Without Cord Castle, there wouldn't be a sequel. Without a sequel, I'd be quite sad. Cord's a good unit! Who caaares about E rank axes. What, you never fought for that grind before? Just forge an axe bro. It's not like hand axes land their hits anyways. He's a fun unit. He's cool. He's my favorite unit in Shadow Dragon. It's a shame he didn't cap strength, but these stats are still solid, even if this is probably one of my weaker Cords. In my defense, a lot of kills were fed to others in the late game, so Cord was doing a lot less fighting. I hope this LP has made even one person consider trying him out themselves. Rubenio's the Matthis guy who always recommends others to use Matthis. I'm going to be the Cord guy, and maybe the Darros guy too because holy Fargus I am proud of that guy. He's the first pirate in the series after all. I urge you to use Cord in SD playthroughs, and even New Mystery playthroughs. You get a triangle attack with him in that game. The C in Cord stand for Capped, so I'd like to see more capped Cords.

Ranking from Best to Worst (Throughout Game):

1. Matthis (Biggest Threat to Humanity)

2. Cord (Coolest Hair)

3. Darros (Most Rewarding)

4. Cain (Most Fun to Train)

5. Marth

6. Wolf

7. Minerva (Most Silly to Write Dialogue For)

8. Roshea

9. Dolph (Best Comeback Unit)

10. Tomas

11. Bord

12. Rickard

13. Hardin

14. Caesar

15. Est

I've definitely gotten more appreciation for...half of these units. Pretty fun PMU overall. Thanks for the picks.

Endgame Time

Spoiler

http://oHqrdrV.png

Time to use up all of my spare money on one last forge. You can't hoard money in DSFE, since there's always blowing it all on one weapon in the last map.

http://YdEl0PH.png

My army has been split into four teams in order to flank them from all sides, preventing them from grouping up to charge us in a whole group, even though Matthis could probably tank that easily. The Eastern Team consisted of Cord, Dolph, Est, and Caesar. Cowering in the corner would screw them over, as they'd just get sniped by Swarm, so Cord goes for the frontal assault, getting the tome user out of the picture immediately. Dolph serves to distract attention from Cord by telling the enemy that he's yet to pay his late family's taxes, making them realize that Dolph has yet to be assassinated, making them prioritize him.

http://jYiw3Qe.png

The Southern Team, consisting of Marth, Cain, Hardin, and Rickard, head north to rush straight into Medeus's throne room. Rickard's purpose here is to expertly open the door without setting off the alarm that immediately summons reinforcements. Unfortunately, the door is equipped with a camera. By that, I mean a ballistae with a deadly pachyderm. As Marth was rushing to get Rickard out of the way, the old man who gave Cain starlight shows up, demanding that Cain returns the tome at once. Cain didn't want to let of such a historic relic as this, so the wrinkly old dude gave him a Swarm tome as a fair trade. Cain always wanted to know what it's like to 360 no tome someone.

http://WErM6KX.png

Marth covers Cain so he doesn't immediately get game ended 1 turn in, trading the swarm tome with Excalibur to let him counterattack.

http://aykpBWn.png

Team C, which is just Matthis and Roshea, advance to Medeus. Matthis takes out the weakened ballistae to save Rickard, and Roshea runs east to avoid the 2nd ballistae's range.

http://hDlMWsQ.png

The final team, consisting of Darros, Minerva, Wolf, and Tomas, are assigned to take out the most dangerous group of enemies. Darros forms a choke point to bait out the dragon and Hero, while everyone else prepares for battle closely behind. Putting everything he has into this battle, he lands a critical hit on the dragon, slaying it with one strike. That's by the far the most useful crit I've had. It'll make the next turn much easier.

http://Q4SQPKg.png

Not even the IRS stands a chance against Big Matt. The 17 damage came from a bishop who immediately dies from a counterattack. Man 1RKO's endgame enemies and takes 0 damage.

http://s46OxSD.png

You know, DSFE Ai can be quite dumb sometimes. Why'd they go for Cain when he can kill you with wind in one battle? Marth can't attack from range. Go for him. They really just love prioritizing damage input over all else. I actually really like this AI. It's easy to exploit, and they're just as aggressive as I am. Who doesn't like big numbers?

http://SQtRCWB.png

What do I say here? It's endgame.

http://HdUcUHZ.png

Somehow, Caesar actually makes a contribution and kills a dracoknight was was only slightly healed by the center mages.

http://5pA1j4r.png

You sure this guy has a magic growth?

http://jAj0trA.png

Dolph finishes off the general with a hammer. He was actually supposed to use his hammer on turn 1, but I forgot to equip it. I would've reset to fix that minor mess up, but that dragon kill was pretty good. Speaking of which-

http://nebpoTk.png

http://zWCmiAM.png

Cord also lands a critical hit and kills the dragon. Their dragon prejudice is really showing. Nice.

http://WQM8ztX.png

Well crap. I can't let Marth waste his turn on him. There's cavs up North that need poking, and Rickard's hit rate is too shaky. Wut do?

http://llQAf9L.png

That's right! Hardin was never dropped! He was just waiting for the right opportunity! Gottem!

http://SlQrAf3.png

Aaand no strength. You're a funny man Hardin.

http://WyynoAW.png

These guys are really hard to get rid of. 20 defense. Some people use forged thundertbolts to OHKO them. I like that idea, but I usually go for the triple geosphere strat, making the healers stumble and cracking their heads on the cold concrete floor, heavily weakening every other enemy. Makes the H5 stage a lot more forgiving for teams that aren't fully capped like Matthis. Of course, I can't do that when I only have one healer who sucks at their job, so Parthia Darros it is.

http://cbm876w.png

Aw man. I liked the 50 HP. It was a clean number.

http://TGBRxOI.png

Wolf switches up Darros's inventory so he can counter the person he's now in range of, and he also attacks the Hero who's actually a threat this time. Don't worry, I'm using fortify every turn. I don't just blindly attack. Come on. I'm the guy who gave 4 speedwings to Darros. I know what I'm doing.

http://dIrCfZj.png

Yeah, this one is not worth doing. Pretty sure she won't get healed enough to survive the next counterattack. I'll just let the Hero do their thing, lying to the public by claiming that they're a Hero when they're only saving Medeus's dinner plans with all that tax money.

http://fTzRtZh.png

Matthis gets rid of Señora Fortify. Normally, this is risky, because this places you in range of the brave snipers, along with the Northern Wyverns up aheads and the current enemies on screen. However, it only takes one Chad unit to just completely throw their defenses out of the window.

http://GNad2bj.png

Holdup...do you think.....? Well we have to try.

http://op0qMVC.png

http://f58Evzr.png

http://XKrNiOG.png

As expected, they all die. Well, one dracoknight lived because of a lucky dodge, but they're just going to attack again next turn, even though they literally deal zero damage.

http://kr6Iwri.png

Every HP level up mattered just for this moment. I mean, I could've just not attacked, but shut up. This is cooler.

http://Rexetle.png

By turn 3, Two cavs ran East to Marth's team. He weakened one with a Steel Sword on Enemy phase, since killing them with Falchion would've gotten Marth killed. Cain deals out more damage now than he ever did as a cav in any of my playthroughs. Go Sage Cain.

http://z1Oa6Cc.png

You know, why am I showing level ups? This is endgame. What does it matter? There's only one character I want to see get a good level up on at this point.

http://Nw5z0Cj.png

You thought I'd settle for one Hardin kill? Nah. I'm making up for the lack of Hardin content throughout the PMU. Everyone contributes.

http://gGvpTJB.png

You did it Tomas. You did a thing on the final map. Now you can tell your master about how you've become powerful by killing one dude while he literally routes the enemy for Cord.

Darros beats up the other hero while Minerva and Wolf play a game of Duel Monsters from a distance using battle disks, occupying the reinforcement areas. What tare they going to do? Stop the battle? You can't do that. It has to play out to the end.

http://jtj1Uo4.png

I use up a little more of my limited Gravidus to get this general out of the way. Hopefully, it won't break before the big battle with the big head manakete man.

http://A0AMlJw.png

On turn 4, Cain trolls a manakete guard. He's distracted with all the bugs in his eye, so he wasn't able to see that Matthis was on his way to finish the job.

http://atrRAt2.png

Gotta love that exact damage. I guess that magic level up earlier did matter quite a bit.

http://qE8MbeU.png

Est gets a kill once again on a healer. Why does she always target the defenseless? Have some honor. This isn't Excelblem Marth you're after. You don't have to be brutal. But hey, she got a kill, so now I can totally justify training her. Yay.

http://POQrSUi.png

http://XhiltIL.png

http://lE0Fumm.png

By the end of turn 4, most of the area has been cleared. The reinforcement zones west and east have been blocked, but there's still Medeus's room. He's not just going to stand there. He going to sit there, and have ambush spawns try to stop me.

http://Kib0PRE.png

A hero and a magic dragon will show every other turn until they're blocked off. This can be annoying, since they can show up faster than you take them out depending on your units. I snipe the hero with Swarm and end my turn. You might be asking why I didn't attack with Matthis. Well, I need him to be a few tiles back for the next turn.

http://FXGZTsq.png

On turn 6, Tomas arrives just in time to hand Matthis his unholy lance.

http://ZaNDR9t.png

Now the dragons will be easier to deal with. All it takes is a burning hatred for things that are of a different species!

http://SeaBBe3.png

There it is! It took a couple of levels, but he made it!

http://qhdEWWM.png

You know, I always go for Nagi, because why not? But I forget that Gotoh has swarm, which is really cool to have. It's the one time you can use siege tomes in DSFE (I mean I guess a New Mystery short story lets you use Meteor but that doesn't count)

http://3S5q9Uw.png

Now arriving to the central room for the IRS, Cord faces Medeus.

"Damn...you ugly"

The negotiations were short.

http://6agOjeO.png

More reinforcements show up, Marth weakens them with Mercurius, and Est goes in for the ki-dammit Est!

Welp, I brought a killer bow. Maybe that'll work.

http://W6nDiRs.png

Relying on RNG is the best way to play Fire Emblem.

http://UBkbY7P.png

So the plan was actually to use Gradivus then have Marth finish them off. Basically, I was hoping to dodge one attack from Medues with Marth. Marth is one of my doddigest units after all. I used the save point on the top of the map, so it's not too risky. Luckily, Matthis got a critical hit, so I didn't even need to use Marth. He can go plug up the reinforcement area.

http://CTW4VUX.png

Now, it's just Medeus and Matthis. Which name will ring first into everyone's mind when they think of M? Metroman, but who'll be the 2nd? Also, look at that Matthis. Now THAT's Matthis in his cannon endgame stats. If you don't have that kind of Matthis, it's not him being bad. You just messed up.

http://JpKEYh5.png

This is very pleasing to look at. I am happy.

http://VnhcRxS.png

Matthis uses his last Gradivus to injure his left eye, causing him to miss one of his attacks. The 2nd hit however, gave Matthis a flesh woundm something he hasn't felt in a long time.

http://X8x0lDr.png

Cain goes in for a distant attack on him. The blind rage Medeus is undergoing from the lack of taxpayers distracted him enough to not attempt dodging any attacks.

I could try to finish him this turn, but that'd be too risky, so I wait one more turn.

http://rxm2ab5.png

http://Lz29m82.png

http://JeYnNtt.png

Amazingly enough, Matthis lands a critical hit, puncturing his lungs. He's on his last breath, and there's only one thing left to do.

http://BEYJuSj.png

You might be wondering where Darros is. He's been blocking the Southern reinforcements from aiding Medeus this whole time. He could not allow his lord to fall now. He will take out every last IRS agent if he has to. Luckily, it was all about to end.

http://VLqOcOz.png

"Medeus...You've killed King Barst of Altea. You destroyed the lives of the working class across nations all over the continent. And you caused the death of my best friend...You will die here and now by my hands! I, Cord the new king of Altea, will strike you down!

http://rMkpwcE.png

And with one final swing from his axe, Medeus dies.

http://Hxi5JCE.png

What is this supposed to mean coming from the IRS? It doesn't matter now. They're gone, and Cord will not allow them to come back. Even if they do, he'll be waiting for them.

Total Turn Count: 323 Turns Spent Saving Cord Castle

I may love Shadow Dragon a lot, but I'm not an elitist, so I have no idea whether that turn count is good or cringe. This is only Hard 3 after all. To be fair, the run involved recruiting everyone which takes up quite a couple of turns. Obviously, the banning of the warp staff (except in 2 occasions to recruit others) drastically affects turn counts. I was kind of hoping to get under 300 turns, but I guess I got too greedy near the end. Could've saved quite a couple of turn on chapter 19 and 24, a couple of 22, a few on 23, and the rest of the maps felt like I could only improve by 1 turn or none based off the way I was playing. I'd say I did alright. Not great, but good enough to not be bad, which is good. It was rather fun balancing out turn counts with training up a bizarre team of units. Pure LTC's just aren't my thing, since I like training units over being super optimal, but giving myself complete freedom to play slowly can make things boring. I easily could've waited out reinforcements for max xp or just play really slowly to be safe and not perform cool setups for quick enemy wipeouts. This felt like a pretty fun balance. Man, I should've waited 10 turns to have that perfect 333. That's the amount of people who actually use Darros. Sad but true.

Out of my 7 Shadow Dragon runs, this was quite possibly my favorite. PMU's are really interesting. I definitely want to do this more often. I mean, the story doesn't just end with Shadow Dragon. I HAVE to try out New Mystery this way. Surely it won't be much more brutal and unforgiving. That being said, it's probably for the best that I don't immediately bombard the LP forum with another PMU, and I still have to finish up my fall semester. I'll probably start that PMU over the winter season. Until then, I'll probably just mess around with some other FE game in my own time, like the fan made Last Promise hard mode patch I never got around to beating (only 5 chapters in). Big thanks to everyone who was a part of this PMU. I'm glad I got to experience this.

As for everyone else who read through this LP: "Would you care for some Cordcoin? The value only goes up".

Beautiful, truly. An excellent series of character arcs which I am proud to have contributed to in the form of SpeeDarros.

Marth shouldn't worry, I think about half the women in Archanaea have a thing for Marth, and that's only canonically.

Take a well deserved rest, buddy. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the run. I'll be excited if you eventually get around to an FE12 PMU where Cord takes on the ATF or CIA or Internal Revenge Service or the zombie apocalypse or whatever other wacky thing you think of for him, but until then, have a good one.

Funnily enough I thought about putting Abel instead of Cain for the green hair but I thought why not Cain? I'm so glad he turned super well. I thought the magic reclass male trio of Cord, Draug and Caesar was good but I'm starting to lean toward the magic reclass trio of Cain, Abel and Norne. The problem is in New Mystery, Cain joins way later so he's probably not gonna be AS good as he was here. But yeah, I'm glad to have been a part of this PMU! It was fun watching everyone struggle and then grow into absolute units. Also, I very much agree on Dolph. Him and Macellan are really fun to use as reclassed units. Reclassing in the Archanean games is hilariously broken and super fun to mess around with.

Runs like these are what DSFE is all about. I doubt that's what IS actually wanted, but there is no better way to play than this. Ironmans come pretty close though. Speaking of which, you haven't gotten Cord killed yet, right?

That's going to be a nightmare to write. I really hope no one drafts a dead unit. Do we really need more zombie plot in FE? Thanks for the support btw. That really helps, since I honestly don't get much of that from anyone I know. Speaking of FE12, I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I recently started an FE12 maniac ironman in my spare time. DSFE is basically my resting game. I also see this as practice for the PMU, since how am I gonna beat maniac with units like Tomas, Yubello, and Macellon if I can't even say I've done an ironman on it with boring top tiers? It's going pretty well so far. Armor Kris for the prologue gave Kris enough defense to basically destroy the whole early game so far, and Luke and Pirate Draug are going crazy with their growths. I did lose 2 units in chapter 3. Hilariously enough, the first one was Bord who got crit by the ballistae. Then I lost Matthis...sorry @Saint Rubenio. I actually wanted to use him this time. I literally hit him accidentally with Catria while blocking him. To be fair, I probably would've gotten more killed from the mountain wyverns if my units were too busy with Matthis to fight back. Oh well. It's almost a guarentee I'll get him in the PMU later. This post was about my FE11 PMU though, so I'll stop talking about it now. I'd rather not make another LP about it, so I guess I'll possibly mention the results once I start the FE12 PMU LP. Anyone can feel free to message me about it if they're interested on when Palla inevitably dies.

New Mystery is definitely not a game where you can reclass someone into a mage and expect good results, unless it's immediately on a chapter 1 unit like Cecil. Thanks for the mage and healer. They may not have been Norne tier, who reached 30 magic, but Cain really did a number on the IRS. Glad my suffering provided you with entertainment. Hoping to do a lot more of it.

Perhaps Catria will be brought back from the dead due to her unrequited love for Marth. All the enemies in the game? Zombies who died as unrequited lovers. Even Medeus is back because of unrequited love. That idea is so stupid that I may just have to suggest Catria for the FE12 PME.

But yeah, if I don't remember to message you, feel free to message me when Palla bites it.

Gah, I'm late, sorry!  Anyway, that "thing" that Tomas can do is gain Res in certain physical classes, like Paladin.  The odds are stupidly low, but it's funny when it happens!
