Who are your 20 most wanted characters for 2022?

The question is simple! What 20 new heroes do you want to see this year in 2022?

This is my list:

Only the top three and the bottom four are in any kind of order. The top three are the characters I definitely want more than any others and the bottom four are characters that have seasonal variants in Heroes, but I still want their base forms (I don't count Elice as a seasonal because I don't count being a Duo backpack as representation).

We're two New Heroes banners and a couple Special Heroes banners into the year, and so far...I've gotten none of the characters I want most, haha. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Neimi, Niime, and Hugh, and I'm happy to see them, but they aren't/weren't as high-up as several others...as my list shows. Oh well, hopefully March will give me something.

Another New Heroes banner, this time for Thracia, and...another time of me not crossing off one single character from my list. No Linoan and no Deen. I'm starting to wonder if I'll get any of the characters I really want this year.

To pick some particular highlights, let's go with Medeus, Salem, Athos, Nergal, and Boyd.

Salem got in, and as one of my biggest picks at that! No luck with the other FE5 units though, or any others so far. Genealogy and Blazing Blade shouldn't be too far off now, though.

Scathach and Arthur were both on my list and I didn't even realize until now. They're in, but at the cost of getting fucked over.

Guess I should expect Tormod and Stefan to get totally screwed over too

Eh, IS likes their swordmasters, so Stefan should be okay. I expect he may be treated like Zihark, getting a fast seasonal. (I'd rather they reference lions more with him, though.) As for Tormod...it could go either way, really. There's some awesome potential for a unique tome for him -- like, at least making it so that he's treated as a beast unit for the purposes of ally beasts transforming.

They could also give him an affect like Yuri to make him a 3 move infantry. That'd be rather useful even if he falls down in other places. He could also get an inheritable tome that deals effective damage to beasts, yeah it'd be slightly out of character for him to come with a tome like that, but mechanically fire mages are the ones who can deal effective damage to beasts in Tellius, so it's either him or Callil.

Now 7/20! Athos and Nergal are the two left of my big picks, and unfortunately still skipped over here, but I'm not going to complain when we're getting Limstella.

Nyna, Kieran, Tormod, and Lucia are the only remaining realistic candidates for New Heroes banners this year, but I'd be happy with seasonals as well.

Okay, so ... I forgot to put Guy on my list this year. I really did want him and he was one of the few FE7 characters I was still waiting for ... and I totally forgot to include him. Oops. Well, I'll count it as a moral victory.

Only three characters for me, not counting alts (in light pink.) ☹️ At least one, Thief Festival Rickard, was a character I really wanted AND a theme that I loved. He's also a great unit. If this is all we ever see of Rickard in Heroes, then I wouldn't be terribly sad.

So far 2023 seems to be a much better year. Just in 12 days, Panne received an alt, Soren is a Tempest Trial unit, and Female Corrin will be the next Resplendent!
