If the roster rumors I've heard are true, then first and foremost I'd really appreciate it if they made

Spoiler

Hanneman, Alois, Gilbert, Cyril, and Anna

playable in a free update; it feels weird not having them.

For paid DLC, some kind of alternate "Free Play" mode where you can use all your units from every route together in one mode with a variety of battle challenges would be nice. Not sayin' it has to be as robust or long as FEW's History Mode, but some way to just mess around with the full roster without restriction would be nice.

Agreed. At least let other route characters be recruitable in NG+ with renown (if they aren't already?)

I'm only partway through Azure Gleam, but I'm keeping a running list of characters and whatnot. So far, I'd like:

A Duscur General (see above)

A child of Rufus (see above)

Annette's cousin, whose name I forgot.

The more of the game I play, some of my questions and wants are getting answered in different ways.

Just a quick note about a previous statement I also said before. Previously, I talked about how I think the Twins could make for solid crossover characters. I still believe that, but I do think they'd need to be reworked. FEW is a pure crossover game, while Azure Gleam so far is an epic fantasy told through the lens of a political drama in a way. I think the Twins wouldn't fit in as well for this route. But that doesn't mean they don't fit in at all. The Twins have an optimistic air about them, something that Annette and Mercedes share, and something that Shez also sort of has. I think it would be interesting to see them in this game still, although maybe not on Azure Gleam. (Although I do think Azure Gleam could offer them nice opportunities for growth.) I'll need to play the rest of the game to see if and where they fit now, but they are no longer my top picks. Weirdly enough, I feel as if Robin, Lucina, and Corrin are now the easiest to put in the game. Lucina doesn't really need to have an explanation IMO, just put her in the game as a student who just joined as well but was sponsored by the Church at this time. (Or have her be sponsored by one of the countless nobles in the game. Or maybe have her be sponsored by Hanneman, if the Mark of the Exalt manifests itself as a Crest.) Corrin could be a mysterious ally who everyone thinks is Agarthan or related to the Agarthans, and she doesn't deny it. It's not true, but it's a convenient cover story. (If you want a reference point, see Artemis from Young Justice.) Robin could literally slot in where the Tactics guy is. If one wants, make him an apprentice who is testing out new strategies in the field. Or just give him the role entirely. Heck, Robin's taking of that dude's slot is sort of what started the crossover idea today.

Lastly, maybe it's due to some of the overarching plot similarities to Fates Conquest (trying to put down a rebellion and insurrection while amassing power for oneself while also fighting off an invasion from a stepsibling who has some...unhealthy allies), but I actually feel like the Nohrian siblings would be great in this game. Heck, just paint them as Rufus' heirs for this game (something that no one can really dispute due to Rufus' reputation as a womanizer if it's false and they're from another world, or something that's pretty believably true if they're Incarnations). The Hoshidan siblings feel more like they'd be from Sreng, but, as with the Twins, I'd like to see where the story ultimately goes before deciding where I'd place them, if anywhere at all. (Elise brings Valkyrie, Camilla brings Malig Knight*, Leo brings...Mage Knight? Archmage? ...nothing...? Xander can bring Griffon Rider. Unless we want the girls to bring the classes and the guys are just extra units. I'm fine with that if need be.)

To be clear, I don't think we'll see any FEW DLC characters pop up in this game outside of maybe the Twins as bonus characters or whatnot, but I would like it, and I'm still putting it down on my list of desired things.

Anyways, this went on long (no surprise), I'm late, and I want to see what the game has in story for me before I ask for too many things that the game has, so I'm off.

*I would still prefer this class to be associated with Almyra, but I can let it slide.

The twins have the same low chances as the other crossover characters, arguably worse as they failed to take off in popularity and memorability.

I wanted to see the full roster before making any guesses on this topic.

The only 3H characters left off the base roster I could possibly see being paid DLC are Anna and Judith...and Judith is a bit of a stretch. All the other characters appear to have been low priority because they just weren't popular or important enough, so they wouldn't make any sense as paid DLC. It's possible they just weren't finished in time for the game's release and will be added for free soon, though.

The roster is so huge as-is that I question if we'll even get character DLC at all. If we do, it actually wouldn't surprise me to see the likes of Lyn, Lucina, Ike, Roy, etc. Might as well include the fan-favorites if they're going to branch out of Fodlan, right? And it would technically allow them to fulfill their desire to add Ike and Roy to the next FE Warriors like they said after the last one. Actually, it would be pretty cool if they just added every FEH CYL winner. It would be a surefire way to satisfy the highest amount of people and would represent every continent. Well, except Aytolis. Too bad for them.

But I think it's more likely for the DLC focus to be new classes and scenarios, and maybe other small things like costumes. Since they already made the awful decision to keep gender locks on classes, maybe they'll fill out the class list with new (and gender-neutral) classes that allow characters access to weapon types they didn't have, like War Cleric so women can use gauntlets. It would actually be funny in a way if they let the Ashen Wolves be base game but held off their classes for DLC.

Now that the full game is out, here is what I would imagine/would like to see as DLC.

Firstly, I would like a free update that includes the forgotten five (Hanneman, Gilbert, Alois, Cyril and Anna). Considering everything is there for them in the game and all they are missing is unique abilities, I don't see why they can't be added in. Hanneman would probably be Scarlet Blaze locked and Gilbert/Cyril Azure Gleam locked but I definitely would like to see them if only for having them all be available.

Based on the datamine, we know there is three dummy slots, presumably for DLC purposes. I think three is a fine number for new units. The cast is already massive, even considering the fact they are split three ways and not everyone is playable on all routes, so three is fine. I feel like Nemesis needs to be one of them. He's like one of the only characters from Three Houses who just isn't in Three Hopes (the only other one being Aelfric I believe). Considering how iconic and important he is, I think he needs to be added. I would like if he was added with some kind of fourth route (which I would hope would follow Byleth and Shez teaming up and with the Church of Seiros playing a big role) where he'd be the final boss.

As for the other two, I really don't mind. I think maybe bringing over the Aytolis twins as a reference to the previous FEW would be cool. They could give them unique classes that use lances and axes to reference the fact they were suppose to use those weapons before they were both given swords.

I would like for some new classes to make an appearance. Not so sure off the top of my head, but I'd like to see the rest of the DLC classes come back. Some more new classes would be cool too. Especially a gauntlet class for female units, cause it's so stupid they just can't use a whole weapon type, except for in fighter.

Also costumes of course. I think having access to units part 2 Three Houses outfits would be nice.

Overall, I'd split the DLC in maybe two or three packs. One would be gameplay based and the other would be story based (like what they did with AOC). A third pack could be for costumes or some other stuff. Preferably both packs would include new classes with unique movesets to make them more worth it.

Nemesis does seem like a good choice for dlc since

Spoiler

The Dark Creator Sword is a NG+ item.

I guess Nemesis would have his own unique class, but if he could come with the Hero and/or Griffon class line for Mercenary, that would be ideal.

Alternatively, I could easily see Judith bringing the Hero line, and GW does need more characters. Though paying for route-exclusives does feel less valuable.

Anna also seems like a good choice, and they could even add her crest weapon. It would be a good chance to add the Adventurer to the Archer's class tree. Which feels like a sorely-missing class since Archers only have one route to go, and a magical alternative could really help.

As for the last character... idk.

But really, if I'm paying for dlc (and I would), I'd honestly prefer new characters with new classes over Nemesis, Anna, or anyone else. The Ashen Wolves were really cool - far cooler than making NPCs playable would have been for Three Houses, and I reckon they could make lightning strike twice if they wanted to.

In terms of other unique or prf classes, I kind of wish Seteth had a male lance wyvern prf class to address the incredibly awkward situation of being locked out of his own sacred weapon in his canon class path (thanks single weapon locks). Perhaps they could give Flayn a Dark Flier variant that's Faith predominant as a companion (assuming valk and dark flier do get added down the line)?

Imagine if they made the other two live Saints in human form as additions though - then with Nemesis, there could be a 're-enactment of the War of Heroes' scenario? (this assumes Anna fills her existing slot in the data, so there's still two gaps).

Imagine if Lord / Hero formed another sword pathline though (though would it become a specialised anti-cav/armor focused one to differentiate from trickster swiftness and savant power?)

Bringing back Wyvern Knight would certainly be a cool way to fix that.

Pretty much my sentiment, if I am gonna pay for DLC, I want entirely new characters, not characters that should have been in the game to begin with (Cyril, Hanneman, Seteth Gilbert, and Alois).

Now that I've played the game a bit (still on chapter 8 of Scarlet Blaze) and knowing a bit more, here's my hopes/thoughts for Three Hopes.

1. Free Update - Forgotten Characters
-- Alois, Hanneman, Cyril, & Gilbert are in the base game, but are not playable for whatever reason.
-- I was really looking forward for playing as Hanneman and Alois, as well as seeing their supports. Hopefully an update will make them all playable.

2. DLC Bonus - Anna
-- While I would prefer if Anna was part of the free update, she could also be used as the "DLC Bonus" character.
-- Bonus points if Anna somehow got her own class.

3. DLC Pass - Roster Expansion
-- A bonus playable character pack, adding in other characters that appear in the game but where not innately playable (The two Imperial Generals, Judith, TWSITD, etc.)
-- Of course, I would prefer if this was a free update, but making these characters playable requires a fair amount of work (voice lines, modeling, personal skills, etc.). Also, it adds some incentive to purchase the DLC if TWSITD were playable, for example.
-- Honestly, this is more of a bonus. It is something I would like to see, but if resources are limited, I would prefer a Byleth Route.

4. DLC Pass - Byleth/Ashen Wolves Route, "Golden Ending?"
-- I still would love a Byleth route as well as a Golden Ending, but considering that the design philosophy seems to be "No Golden Endings" and "Do not Invalidate Three Houses," I am unsure if this will happen.
-- It would be great if Byleth, Jeralt, and Alois teamed up with the Ashen Wolves, as the Ashen Wolves don't have a route of their own in Three Hopes. They serves as the "DLC Route" in Three Houses, so why not do so again in Three Hopes?
-- Heck, add in Nemesis as a boss for this route too. There is a severe lack of God Shattering Star in Three Hopes. (Also, we need Shacked Wolves and At What Cost tracks in Three Hopes as well.)

5. Expanded Supports
-- I was surprised that some of the chemistry between characters in Three Houses did not carry over to Three Hopes in terms of supports. For example, Lysithea and Edelgard have affinity, but in Three Hopes their support rank is only C and there's no support conversation.
-- While I would love support conversations, I wouldn't mind if there was at least higher support ranks between these characters, even if there are no convos for them.

6. Removal of Gender-Locked Classes
-- Please make this happen. Perhaps tie it in with the lore and make it a special seal to do so ("Male Pegasus Riders are rare, but in the land of [x], they exist." // "In Morfis, the land of magic, females study the Dark Arts [Dark Mage/Dark Bishop] while males become masters of magic [Gremory]).
-- I want my build options!

7. New/Returning Classes
-- Ranger, Sword Cavalry
-- Griffon Rider, Sword Flier
-- Valkyrie, Tome Cavalry
-- Dark Flier, Tome Flier
-- War Monk/Cleric, Gauntlet with Magic
-- Sword Armor?
-- Lance Armor?

I don't see them making a bunch of new characters for DLC in a Musou spinoff. They're hitting far too many niches to succeed like they did with the Ashen Wolves.

I only finished Edelgard's route so far.

My ideal DLC would be:

-Remaining non playable characters becoming available. I only played Edelgard's route, so in this case Randolph, Ladislava, and Bergliez as examples

-Them getting dedicated story chapters. Basically showing what they were all doing while off screen. Like imagine a side chapter in Edelgard's route dedicated to Bergliez kicking butt and fending off the alliance blockades 300 style.

-Proper ending. Edelgard's route ended on a non ending.

Spoiler

Yeah it dealt with Rhea and Thales. But there was still the final battle against the kingdom that just never happened... Edelgard is just not allowed to have proper endings in her stories I guess since in 3 Houses it ALSO ended with loose ends.

I would find it really interesting if they did the exact same things as they did for Three Houses;

Part 1: new outfits
Part 2: Additional auxiliary battles, for earning more gold and resources. Was this the one Anna got added in as well? Except also add Alois and the others, I got so excited seeing Alois early on and just learned he's not actually playable.
Part 3: More outfits, and let's interpret additional quests as more regions on the map.
Part 4: New path that's not actually a path, but actually a side story with the Ashen Wolves.

And just throwing this out there, wouldn't it be fun if they gave us a DLC pack with Randall, Emma, Yuzu and Shade?

The most important DLC is Alois because its a crime that he's not playable.

I think perhaps a stage pack about the war of Heroes might work. At least three stages about Seiros and Wilhelm rising up in Enbarr, the battle of Grondor Fields and the Battle of Tailtiu plains. Nemesis, Wilhelm, Index and Maquil could be the new playable characters with some of the Elites being unique OC's.

All three routes end on a non-ending, even with the Golden Endings, so at least Edelgard isn't being singled out this time.

So here's my expanded hopes.

Paladin -> Wyvern Knight (Seteth)

Promotes from Paladin, Seteth exclusive. Clone of Falcon Knight. Additional preferred class for Seteth giving him swordbreaker and apex lance.

Soldier -> Halberdier -> Dragoon

(Sleekly) armored and magic enabled. New magical infantry spear and shield moveset. Effective against gauntlets.

Warrior -> War Monk/Cleric

This could either be a War Monk/Cleric (hey, Grappler stole Warrior's promotion, why not the other way around), Druid, or Oni Chieftain. This should be an additional preferred class line for Annette, teaching her Apex Axe, and Lancebreaker. Alternatively, this class could target bows in the same way Dancers target tomes, so she would learn Apex axe only. Teaches axe combat arts for Fire, Dark, Light, and Wind dependent on character.

Sniper -> Adventurer

A footlocked equivalent to bow knight with magic enabled, teaching ice, light, and dark combat arts dependent on character. Also becomes an additional preferred class for Yuri and Mercedes, teaching them apex bow and gauntletbreaker.

Bishop -> Strategist

Like Valkyrie, but it comes from Bishop and isn't genderlocked. Dismounts to the Bishop moveset.

Warlock -> Dark Flier

All playable native Warlocks are female, so the gender lock is relatively inoffensive here. Dismounts to Warlock.

Mercenary -> Hero -> Griffon Knight

The only ways for master classes to distinguish themselves are either magic or mounts. Sword has two magic, no mounts. Ergo, this is a good fit for carrying over the mercenary moveset.

Did you mean Strategist? Tactician is Robin's class.

Yes. Same thing really, but I'll change it.

I also think it fits in great to the class dynamic because not only are there no horse tomes, but it would be a preferred class for Marianne in multiple ways.

Ironically it would then be better for Constance than for Hapi because of Constance's innate Essence of Light. Also a good fit for Rodrigue for the same reason, plus he'd actually keep the outfit.

I have to disagree with only certain characters get second Apexs and breakers. If that happens everyone should get it.

Maybe. But if it's the case that *insert character's* ideal class was not in the game at base, but got added via dlc (as would be the case with magical axe Annette or Lance Wyvern Seteth), it seems only just that they are duly compensated. And you can't take away an existing preferred class status to add a new one - that would be silly.

You could treat it like an extra hidden talent. And there's precedence for a character having more than one of those (Gatekeeper).

I don't believe that at all. Yuri's ideal class was the only DLC class to be add why give him more preferential treatment? Breakers are universally strong anyone having more the one is immediately better then those of don't.
