I sincerely hope Kusakihara directs another game.

One thing he always talks about in interviews is how important the story is to him, and the two games he's directed (Echoes and Three Houses) are the best written FE games of the past decade or so.

If there comes another game from the Three Houses team, I will be very happy.

...well fuck, New Mystery is over a decade old. So I guess it is TECHNICALLY correct, despite how...genuinely bad Echoes' and Hopes' story was (well, the latter has a good midsection on all routes).

And that's why FE stories will never be good.

Echoes is god damn awful, and that includes the writing

Hopes started amazing then suddenly made Fates look like a Masterpiece in writing

Golden Wildfire is the fucking Golden Trashfire, the other routes are pretty okay, just with hilariously weak endings (and no, DLC wouldn't fix it). They definitely spoil the experience, but I wouldnt say they are any worse than what Fates pulls. Nothing made me outright laugh over a goddamn suicide scene.

And whatever they were planning with Shez and Arval, but I'm just gonna call it the Community Gas Leak Episode.

I really hope so, Three Houses and Hopes are the only games in the series I enjoyed the writing about the world and politics in since Radiant Dawn and  really only PoR has comparable good and interesting politics.

Yeah so... I have to wait like 8 months to buy a DLC ? Mmmhhh... What if I want to use Dimitri day one ? I just dump 30$ for one character and pray that I like the others ?

Anyway, thanks for the datamining !

Waiting is indeed the objectively best way to handle season passes. That said, the eshop straightup mentions on the page for wave 1 that individual DLC waves can not be bought seperately. You have to buy the entire season pass or skip it all. So if money is a concern, skip the season pass until Wave 4. Wave 4 is likely to be the most meangingful aspect of the DLC to begin with.

Pretty disappointed that Engage was built on Unity and not the DW engine. I was looking forward to potentially having the Emblem lords' assets in a future Warriors game.

On the other hand, this makes Engage the easiest game in the franchise to mod and hack ever.
Plus they would have to be different models anyway, given shading, musculature, and the eyes first.

I suppose that'll be a big deal in a few years or so when people can confidently replace Sacred Stones fangames with Engage ones without risking the Nintendo legal hammer.

And I'm not so sure that the style wouldn't work for a Warriors game. A little more color and cartoonishness tends to work well for them. The best looking Warriors games are the ones with either cel-shading (Samurai Warriors 5, Fire Emblem Warriors), a painterly style (Age of Calamity), or a comic book/manga artstyle (Persona 5 Strikers, One Piece).

FE stories are above average at best.

Unironically though, because Engage isn't taking itself super seriously and is clearly just celebrating the series instead, it might clear the series.

You've said this before in the other thread and i agree, this is the one FE game where shit like cults controlling everything and whatnot actually wouldn't be a detriment to the story.

If Engage's story is genuinely unironically good, then that's more of a bonus. But for now, i'm just expecting to have fun.

Fates? The game that had a character who's implied to be important die from a generic enemy? Not even close. No game will ever be Fates tier not even the divisive "Golden Wildfire".

No evidence of a postgame for Engage....

Works on Awakening/Fates rules, you start behind the final chapter and get to explore around.

Why do they just...hate the Creature Campaign, guys...?

I don't like Claude but even I would call it Character Assassination.

The second half is complete nonsense for a character that is supposed to be smart.

I'd hope for there to be good DLC maps like Awakening and Fates had at least but Engage's DLC is like Three Houses: trinkets and then something maybe substantial.

All I'm saying is that DLC story better be good good, if it's just like Cindered Mid, imma be upset.

Then again, Engage's map design and mechanics blows 3H out of the water so we're already good on that front.
