[FE4] Rate the Unit III

Rules (Borrowed from whomever made them first with modifications)

- Ratings to be assumed from when a unit is first available.

- Votes need some explanation regarding their gameplay performance to be counted (unless they fall into the general parameters of the average rating, but reasoning is still strongly encouraged on those even if you just wanna quote people) — incredibly low scores or high scores without proper justification will not be counted. Don't put in some random text thinking it'd count as justification. Put in at least a little thought and give REAL reasoning.

- Numbers for votes, please - not something like "Sigurd/10", etc.

- Personality / Appearance may be taken into account, but only +/- 1 point at the most.

- Votes out of 10, or something proportional to it, please!

- Make votes easily visible, please and thank you!

- Every ranking phase will end on the next day at approximately 10:00 PM (or 22:00), EST.

Units and Ranking

Sigurd: 9.96

Noish: 6.15

DAY 3: ALEC

___

Alec has everything good that Noish lacks. Pursuit, Skill, and Speed. The problem? Noish has what Alec lacks: Strength and good father potential. Alec actually doubles enemies with the ever-broken Pursuit, but really that's all he's got going for him. He won't ORKO like Sigurd, and he doesn't have innate Critical like Noish. At least he has a horse and won't get OHKOed by Horseslayers because lolFE4Nihil.

Father wise, he's not that great. He passes down Pursuit, but so do most other fathers. He'd probably be decent for Lachesis' kids because they'd be able to have Pursuit and laugh at Horseslayers, but Lachesis will fuck Beowulf and Fin before Alec. Hell, she'd fuck Dew before Alec. None of the other mothers want him boning her, too. Sylvia is the closest but she has Claude and Levin looking to bone her before Alec does. He's too far behind in the list of potential fathers to be considered.

He does have a cool turban, though.

6/10

Thank you for all that completely unnecessary swearing and reference to "boning".

Alec gets 7/10 from me. He's clearly better than Noish, with better offense pretty much forever.

He doubles... and that's about it. He's a source of Awareness and Pursuit as a father, but unfortunately he's not so great statistically and the kid who might perhaps want Awareness, Fee, doesn't need Pursuit (and has much better fathers besides). Otherwise he taps stuff a couple times and backs folks up. And I guess he makes an okay Aira lure. But that's kind of it.

5/10 for being pretty average.

Better unit than Noish thanks to doubling consistently, but isn't as good of a father--though his fathering is not bad for those who wants pursuit, either. Horse is nice.

6.5/10.

Hell, [Lachesis]'d fuck Dew before Alec.

Why would you chose Bargain over Pursuit for Nanna and Diarmuid? Why?

Alec, 7/10. Has pursuit, and a pony, takes care of himself on the field, and can get by in the arena with tricks like Slayer and Cutter, and eventually borrowing Hero Sword for quadding action. He's not particularly sought after as a father, but not everybody has to be. His personality is better than Noish's, (thanks to his Sylvia conversations, mostly).

I actually did DewxLachesis in SFDT. The results are surprisingly good, their conversation meant I didn't waste any turns and Delmud was a monster with the Pursuit Ring, bargain letting him get the Elite Ring and promote in chapter 8. Outside of a draft, Delmud still turns out very powerful. With Alec, his stats aren't quite as impressive, nor will he get an early level lead, unless Alec ends up with the bargain ring - which isn't likely.

Alec's reasonable at fighting, his move's good but his mediocre strength and lack of additional combat skills limit his usefulness. He'll only mess up Tiltyu's kids, so he's a reasonable father for the others. However, guys like Beowulf, Midale and Noish can offer more to pairings.

One point for his turban and great personality.

5/10

So it's perfectly acceptable to give Delmud the Pursuit Ring, but it's not to give him the Bargain Ring, or the Return Ring (to be sold for money for the Elite Ring), or various Rings that nobody really wants (like +RES rings).

Better combat wise than Noish, but Noish gives better skills to kids in gen 2, so i'll rate them the same.

I was going to say precisely this, except my final rating is a 7 because I gave Noish that.

7/10

In a draft, yes. Outside of a draft, not so much.

One thing I've found with Alec is that he really needs his speed. 30% isn't too shabby but he's often borderline doubling some of the quicker enemies.
